- This guide will demonstrate how to install Sidequest without a PC or Dev mode enabled.
v63 may have ended standalone modding but we can still install sidequest and other apks using the method shown in this video!

Would this still work for custom beat saber songs? Ive been trying for hours to find a solution, but no youtubers have a way to do it on the Quest 1, with the current patch. Where yours says "missing files" mine says "oculus downloaded apks" and that folder is empty, even though i downloaded the sidequest apk...
Only way I believe works is with a pc. Meta may fix the issue but there’s no eta.
I have a with pc guide if you want to give it a shot.
So just using the side quest app on pc? Can I use that for the beat saber mod custom song mod, or does that just not work right now?

Technically, yes.
Downgrade to v62
Update to v63.0.0.219
Maybe update to v64, currently unverified. Then use my most recent no pc guide.

No, just to install sidequest or any other apk directly onto your headset.
Need to wait for meta’s hot fix to install onto your specific headset for standalone modding.

No, but if you end up factory resetting or get a new headset, youll need to do the new method.

I’m trying to play games and in red it’s telling me to run some adb thing. What’s causing this?
That’s new, all apps your tried were sideloaded using the sidequest app?
Yeah, I followed your instructions perfectly and every time the games are in the middle of downloading, it says in red under “Oculus user” and says something to the affect of “you must first run adp etc…..”
i can’t get missing folders it won’t show?
There may have been an update, skip that step and try to install the apk anyway.

No, it doesnt. The advanced installer is a super app that does ton of stuff. Also its a windows executable app.
This is just to get access to the lite version of sidequest.

Fairly straight forward.
Make your account a developer account.
Download questpatcher, download v1.35 core mods.
Click quick fix and repatch on quest patcher.
Go to mod management and install downloaded mods.
Done deal. I’ll try to make a quick vid on it tonight.

@@BearskiVR Thanks! I followed the instructions and installed the Godot game engine on my Quest 2 (it's only on the app store for Quest 3 and Pro but the APK is on Github). Every time I thought something was wrong I went back to your video and it was my fault, though I had to check several different folders to find the "Missing files???" option since it wasn't showing in my Downloads folder (I had videos and images in there, maybe that's why?). And one of the latest updates has moved "Unknown sources" out of the drop-down menu and placed it over to the left side of the window where Search, Applications, and Worlds are. Otherwise, it was smooth sailing.
What does Sidequest give you? All links just send me to pay for the game on Meta store.
Quite a few games and apps that do not show up on the meta store. Such as Quest App Version Switcher for beat saber modding and Questcraft(Minecraft running nativly on the Quest 2/Quest3).
There also the optimization settings/ulterior method of screen casting.

But for quest 2, your sidequest account had to be the same as your Microsoft account.
And you needed to play Java with that account at least once.
Maybe I should make a video. My guides have a certain “easy to follow” charm.

Mine gives me none of the pop ups you show
Restart your headset. Mobile vr station encountered a bug.
The pop ups are actually there but invisible (no joke). You could try to guess where the install/continue buttons are. But a headset restart usually does the job.

Guardians frontlines and war of wizards.
The gameplay loops on both are huge. Frequently gets you into the zone/flow state. Carrot on a stick keeps you playing to unlock more gear.
Highly recommend.

When i click on managae all files there is no settings pop-up, my whole screen just goes dark and i have to restart mobile vr.
Restart the headset, a background process is crashing.
