  • This video covers all of the basic safety things you need to know to get started with resin crafting, including dealing with fumes, liquid resin & while sanding. It covers different PPE options such as respirators, dust masks, gloves and goggles. There's also more specific advice such as what to do if you get resin on your skin and how to remove it. It's a great place to start for beginners and may also have some tips for more advanced resin users too :)
    0:00 Introduction
    0:13 Dealing with resin fumes
    3:33 Protection for mixing & pouring resin
    5:11 Protection while sanding resin
    I'm not affiliated with any of the products that I show, they're just what I have on hand for my own resin casting. Please note that these are general tips for home-use epoxy or polyurethane resins- polyester resins are more dangerous and will need additional precautions (refer to your SDS for the best advice for your particular resin).

    What kind of respirator cartridges are these? Do we have specific ones for resin

    • @LamellaCreations
      @LamellaCreations  2 года назад +2

      These are 3M 6001 cartridges. For epoxy you'll want organic vapour cartridges, other resin types may need more complex safety setups to be fully protected

    Mam how often do we need to change the filter. Like if we are using another filter pad above this & covering with retainers. Changing that additional filter as it gets worn off .. how long can we use it

    • @LamellaCreations
      @LamellaCreations  2 года назад

      The sanding filter should last longer than the fume filter, as it can be used until it's too difficult to breathe through. The fume filter will need to be changed more regularly

    Hii there!!
    Can I do resin art in my balcony?
    Is it harmful for my neighbours?
    Please reply 💟

      Hiya, it depends how close they are, but in general it shouldn't be a problem if you're using a low fume option like epoxy. I might not if you're using something like a polyester resin and they're close to you or if they're outside at the time :)

      Yup I cover that under ventilation: ruclips.net/video/EfjLV7PEjmI/видео.html
      Resin is best done in a workshop/garage or outside wherever possible. Some people choose to do it inside anyway so I cover how to make it a bit safer at least
