Thanks for telling Haiti story, if you listen to the news coming from the States you would think that Haiti is entirely a war zone. Big up from Jamaica, one people.
For sure! Haiti is beautiful, but it’s all propaganda. A lot of people just believe what they’re told and don’t care to question it if it doesn’t effect them. Also, same here in the states. We only portray the good sides to other countries but keep our dirt behind the scenes. Big up
Appreciate it. I think if your roots are Haitian it’s worth exploring. Even if not, being informed on other cultures can give you a deeper appreciation for life. Make it happen 😉
Got a lil tired of watching vids of the other islands and thought to myself I want to see Haiti and your Vlog came up....I enjoyed it,...very wholesome....
It really is tragic, the worst thing is they don’t have to be. It’s a small Island, if other nations wanted to help them and trade goods they could really start to get on their feet. It would take time but it would get better; but this isn’t that world and they wont be able to thrive as long as big brother has its foot on their neck.
@Evelyn Norde: you'll be waiting for forever. Just live your life, if the media scares u stay where u at. But at least visit time 2 time to support local tourism
great video bro I do this every time I get a chance to go back home brother man Our Haiti is so beautiful bro the sceneries ,mountains our beaches and most of all the food are the best in the world our people are so welcoming. great video bro they world don't know how beautiful Haiti is man and you are so right they are sleeping on Haiti for real man
Yessir! Appreciate it bro. People need to start putting respect on Haiti’s name. At the same time, if they’re sleep, let them sleep 💤 the don’t know what they’re missing and if you know, you know.
Love the video man. Fantastic stuff. Did you know that "pomme noir" you ate at 23:00 is a cashew fruit? Yes, the cashew you'd find in a can of mixed nuts. The cashew is on the top of the fruit where you'd expect the stem to be. In Dominica we call this a Cashew Apple. Cheers
The man said "pomme noix". In Haiti, we say "noix" or "noix cajou" for cashews, and "pomme cajou" or "pomme noix" like this man in the video for cashew apple. All from the french names of the nut and its fruit that are: noix de cajou and pomme de cajou.
@@julief.7170 Thank you for the clarification! I thought he said "noir" as in dark or black. Forgive me as I do not speak Haitian Creole. Learn something new every day! In Dominica (Dominique) we simply call this fruit "cashew apple". 👍
Your brother has a nice appearance to look at, especially when he says “legumes”! (2:25) My guilty pleasure, watching your absolutely interesting video. Love from the Netherlands.

Where in Haiti was the first place? I've been to that beach in Jacmel. It's really beautiful! We couldn't make it to bassin bleu though, which is why we went there.
Haiti looks beautiful. It's on my list of places to visit, but the only thing I know how to say in French is "I do not speak French" 😅. I'm going to go regardless. Haha
It definitely is, and full of culture! Haha, no worries. Plenty of people speak broken English down there, Being in a country where I don’t speak the language, is something I’d like to experience as well.
@@VDeezy94 :) I experienced that when I went to Germany. I learned key phrases to get by while I was there. Coincidentally, the first sentence I learned in Dutch was " I do not speak Dutch" 😅😅. Cheers! I want to see the world! Knowing the language is good but not a deal-breaker if I don't.
As someone who visited Haiti before you and luggage must travel in separate cars in case someone is following you. My cousin visited a bank in Haiti and after leaving bank was approached by a thief who knew exactly how much money she withdrew so why would someone want to visit?
It sucks that that happened to your cousin, but I don’t think one anecdotal experience should sway someone from visiting a whole country. That’s like suggesting no one should visit the states because we’ve had serial killers (which is arguably worse). I think bad things can happen to you wherever you’re at and it’s on us to be cautious and aware of our surroundings. Also, the onus is onus to be aware of bias is we form due to our own experiences or the experiences of those around us. To answer your question though, someone should only want to visit to step out of their box and experience something new first hand.
We had someone dig a well a few years back. Yes, by hand with a shovel. It was actually so deep and hot. Down there that there was no air flow so we blasted AC down a tube for the worker from the top.
So from what I know, It’s mainly in the capital that the kidnappings happened. Americans aren’t necessarily being targeted as much as some Haitians are going after anyone for bribes. We were op
Enjoyed your video ! Years, I'm telling my Haitian friend to visit her country, but she is scared. I think I'll have to go with her. I am not Haitian, but from one of the other Islands !
