If we have strong desire to accomplish anything consider it done! I think this video was well made. I think Haitians are very spiritual. We love people and nature! Not all of us practice vodoo but we respect it and know it exists. God bless you😊❤

    I really enjoyed this. My family is from Haiti. I lived there as a small child and then a few summers when I was a little older. I've many fond memories and really miss the island. This video reminded me of what I miss. The food, art, music (and clubs), family, and the people. There are no people like the Haitians. They can find joy in the smallest thing, no matter how much heartbreak and hardship they're experiencing. Their strength awes me.

    I visited Haiti as part of a short term mission trip a few years ago. I agree that Haiti has a lot to offer as a tourist destination. There are clifftops overlooking the ocean, the historical sites mentioned in this video, waterfalls and other natural sites, and the truth is voodoo was a tourist draw earlier in the 20th century. Yes it carries a stigma from hollywood portrayals but i think hollywood has shown how often lies are at its core. I remember hearing people at karnival in the city where we were staying. It sounded like a lot of fun! If i were to go back i would jump at the chance to visit Karnival. Yes it would take a lot of security, safety is no joke. If you look at the very edge of any resort (often under palm fronds) in the Carribean or Mx you will see walls, barbed wire and security guards. Even the compound where we stayed which had an orphanage and a school had all three. As I write this in Feb 2019 during the protests over the petrocaribe money, i know that i cannot go at this time. It would take a lot of investment and a lot of it would be foreign investment to boost the tourism sector in Haiti. It is a double edged sword but it would work. Even if it were awful for the first generation, like how the beginning part of industrialization is, the long term economic structure would help.

    Haiti has a lot to offer and could be a great eco friendly destination, for tourists looking for a great adventure. There are 2 problems: it always depends of the political climate, at the moment . For example, this video was filmed in 2017 ; which was a great year to visit Haiti. We went in 2017 to the Decameron resort and had the most wonderful time. Then it wasn’t safe in 2019 to go there, so we have been waiting for things to improve, so we can go back for a visit. The second thing needed is more infrastructure to attract the tourists, and this country could blow out all the competition in the Caribbean, with its many hidden treasures.

    I think it is more accurate to say that Haiti is 100% religious rather than 100% Vodou. Haitians tend to believe profoundly in whatever beliefs system to which they choose to adhere.
    Those who believe in Christianity believe in it with all their heart and the same goes for those who practice Vodou.
    The ones who blend their own system of beliefs do so profoundly because of they believe that the divine forces are not found in just one place.
    I am a practicing Christian and I firmly believe in the freedom of others to practice what they believe in and I am happy to defend such freedom.

    • @sciamafrancois4920
      @sciamafrancois4920 3 года назад

      Using such a quote with percentages for an advertisement was done literally. Therefore, it can be taken as such. Again, that's what your company was advertising. ADVERTISEMENT is the key WORD! WHAT WE ARE ABOUT/REPRESENT and offer!!! It was a well done, video but to advertise that 100% of Haitians are voodoist, it's obserd. Not to mentioned more then half of the ADVERTISEMENT was geared toward voodoism activities. YOUR ADVERTISEMENT only targetted a small goup and that if it did. If u didn't present our BEAUTIFUL ISLAND in such a way, it would have been a great add.

    Haitian won the war back in the days for two reasons. First thing first, the lack of voodoo, by cause of having lots of mixed-race around (and special cases like Toussaint who was raised by foreigners, et al). This paved the way for practicality. Second thing, France was already falling, similar to the U.S fighting Germany in the 2nd world war and some third party won a battle in an Archipelago Napoleon had control over .

    At 3:25; What is the heart of the Haitian culture? The Minister of tourism responded "Voodoo". As a Haitian, I love my country enormously. I believe the biggest problem of the country lies within its spirituality. A wonderful people who used to love and respect each other, a sweet smile and sense of humor that erases all sadness in an instant. Haiti is in pain and suffering and the main reason for such pain is the Voodoo! Refer to Isaiah 45:22; Mark1:15; John3:16. The Lord teaches that "The enemy came to kill, to steal and to destroy" Isn't was we are experiencing right now in the country?

    Great video!! However, Voodoo is not in the heart of all Haitians. (just a little fraction of Haitian still believe in that). Haiti belongs to Jesus that is what we believe in. God gave us the strength and the capacity to get our freedom!!

      La cultura haitiana es muy rica!! Soy dominicano, entiendo que si Haití fuese un país con más orden institucional pudiese desarrollarse de manera a la par con RD. Haití carece mucho de estabilidad política.. esa es la primera razón por la cuál no avanza.

    Sans Soucis means, without worry. No panic.
    it's a target place "cible à la gachette" that the slaves build to hide in time for war or fight.

    It's funny how this particular group of people never give credit to the indigenous Taino which named the island Haiti and many of those cultural aspects originated with them also.

    Voodoo is definitely not one of the top things about the culture of Haiti neither does it play a big part in the hatian society in Haiti, most people of haiti are Catholic or christians, and I wouldn't see how voodoo would attract tourists unless these tourist came to Haiti to get their body, souls and spirits cured of disease's,and spiritual pain and physical pain , Haiti has the riches and most beautiful beaches in the world,it was voted for having one of the best beaches and best food years back, Haiti has been robbed of it's money by corrupt government for decades after decades, and with the money it was robbed for could had easily rebuild the economy and made it go from a poor country to a wealthy country, especially after all the money that was sent to Haiti after the earth 🌎 quake, over 1 trillion dollars .... It only costed 88 billion to make dubai and that's the number 1 tourist location of today's time ,so imagine where Haiti would of been now if it wasn't due to corrupt government's in Jesus amen

    I don't agree with that woman, Haiti never had a dictatorship that kept the people from progress, they gave Duvalier a bad rap, he was only trying to keep light skin people from mistreating the darker ones, because those people still thought they were superior to the rest, so before we bad mouth the man find the reason why he acted the way he did.
