Bond, license fees, compliance issues with yearly law changes... Not businesses for lazy peeps. I have no idea how salvage lots just pump cars out so quickly for auction with all the legal hoops. I guess they just deal with reputable insurance companies. The cheapo companies take forever, if you can even get them via direct call, fax, email, text, etc. Blech

The amount of work involved though he still deserves a little respect. Its more than most people are capable of doing.
You find some interesting vehicles at these auction lots. Made me think of a wheeler dealers episode where someone in the UK re-engineered the way the DBW monitored throttle position. It used metal "paws" on a magnetic flat cable which wears out as it rubs off. He fit's the internal of it with one that uses magnets which do not touch eliminating the wear point. Still cheaper than the Maserati part which would still fail again simply as it rubs off with every use.
