I'm becoming more aware that GPU drivers are gonna get some games working better. I was told the System driver or the latest Qualcomm driver gets Super Mario RPG running great, I noticed this also helped but didn't fix the graphical errors in Link's Awakening. It seems daunting to me to download different drivers and test each one but I'll keep it more in mind as well as some other Yuzu settings when I'm finding problems with certain games. I wish we could set these settings per game.
I get my clear blue odin 2 pro monday! I'm having it delivered to my work and my boss said he'll have someone sign for it and put it on my toolbox, can't wait :)
Within 6-8 months... most Switch games will prob work near perfect im guessing. We need time for optimization and bugs to be smoothed out. Ill probably look to pick one up hopefully on a bit of a discount summer of '24
Mario RPG runs great in my Yuzu PC...i have try to run some of the same games on Odin 2 Max and there is a big difference between two of them emulators, the best settings for android for me in graphics is to turn of Vsync, Window adapting filter to Nearest Window and Anti-aliasing to SMAA...and most of the games runs great...
There is a nice trick you can pull on 60fps games that runs unstable (like the Mario Kart level you showed on the video), in Yuzu you can change the "game speed", in 60fps games where the fps is not locket to the actual speed of the game, if you place, for example 80% speed, it will make the game runs at 50fps, 75% = 45 fps, and so one, if you have a constant frametime, like constant 45fps for example, you will not have hiccups on the gameplay. Im playing metroid dread 2x docked on my odin 2 by locking the fps at 45 and it is running flawless
Not sure if this will actually help anyone... when using the Dark Souls lighting mod you have to "manually" move the file using the device like mentioned in the video. However, as of right now you can't the Odin device won't let you create the exeFS folder where its supposed to be located. The work around for me was to create the "lighting-workaround" folder with the exeFS folder and the mod file inside of it on the PC and copy them all at once to the internal storage root directory. From there I was able to copy all the folders/file at once to the game serial location where they needed to be. I know this sounds ridiculous but at least for me this was the only way to make it work properly because the Odin prevented me from creating that last folder. hope this actually helps someone it took me a while to work it out.
The excellent battery life is one of the biggest draws too. Last night I was playing Metroid Dread and Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble on Yuzu, then jumped over for some Dreamcast and a little PS2 before bed. Nothing better for it really.
Thanks for the video. I just got my Odin 2 today but most of the time it runs around 30fps rather than 60fps (Yuzu NCE). Did you tweak some settings on Yuzu to get it working at 60fps?
Octopath Traveler 2 gets into game if you enable "CPU Debugging" and disable "Fastmen" under Debug. I get a black screen during one of the first fights, didn't test further.
The thing about RAM utilization is it’s not exactly accurate to compare between devices. I keep seeing reviewers look at 70% ram utilization on the pro and immediately assume it will use more than 8 gigs on the base and that’s not how ram works. Processors like to use the ram that’s available even if they don’t need it. So it’s very possible that a game using 60% on the pro will still only use 60% or 70% on the base. It’s hard to tell really.
I’ve been having some issues with my Pro model running yuzu and Aethersx2. Yuzu randomly freezes and I have to hard reboot the console to fix it. Aether has been weird. Gameplay is randomly slowing down and one game won’t create a memory card to begin the game. I’ve been playing around with settings for both and am stumped at the moment.
@@gokuworld I appreciate the reply. I ended up doing that about a week ago and Yuzu is working much better. Also realized that Aether updated to the play store version although I unchecked auto update. Deleted and reinstalled and it’s working much better now. Thanks again and love the content!
I'm currently thinking about getting one used for a decent price (for my country at least) but it's STILL pretty expensive... Worth 3500SEK/€304/$328/£260? I'm currently on a 351P, which I've been (and still am) very happy with, but it's obviously VERY underpowered so want to upgrade to be able to play up to Switch. How are the ergonomics when using the D-pad (I'm a sucker for 2D-stuff so a good D-pad is important to me)?
It's a nice D-pad but if you're looking to use it more exclusively then I think you either need fairly large hands or some kind of grip to comfortably do that for long periods. If you want to stick to a similar form factor as the 351P then looking into the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro is probably a good shout, the D-pad is on the top and it can play some Switch (leans more towards indies, 2D games, best to look into that one for games you're interest in because it's hit and miss).
I would like to know this too. I am interested in getting one of these devices but I'm not sure which one. Mainly want to do Android gameplay, Gamecube and Switch emulation and some streaming
@@rahelhardono6042 Damn. I finished BotW on Switch but I never started ToTK yet. I'll probably save a ToTK playthrough for the Switch then. I might go down the middle and get 12gb RAM then to be safe.

How did you get super Mario U deluxe to run? I’m using the new turnip GPU with prod key 17 and firmware 17 and have the Odin 2 max. Not sure why I keep getting the black screen after pressing the L and R buttons.
Do you have a video or tutorial somewhere for getting Pegasus all setup on Odin2? I’m trying that front end for the first time with Odin2 and I can’t get any emulators to work with it. 😵

I can't get the lighting fixed in Dark Souls. I'm using the Odin Pro, Yuzu 148 and I've checked the folder structure a million times - everything's in its correct place and Dark Souls updated to 1.0.3. Might be a Pro problem. Did any Pro users get it to work?
I don't know if it's because initially Yuzu wasn't designed to work with the Pro because it's Android 10 or something? Like people changed the APK to get it working on that or something...idk, just a thought. With the Pro you could just chuck things in the android/data folder from pc and it would work so I don't think it would be a file permission problem. Yeah I'm not really sure, maybe something to query on the Yuzu discord or even AYN's discord/reddit as maybe someone got it working.
I can’t play Mario kart. I get stuck on the Mii screen after loading the game. I managed to fix this in my Steam deck, but can’t manage to fix it in the Odin 2. Any help?
Yes it works for me. How did you put the patch file there? I'll just say how I did it just in case: I downloaded the mod on my pc (can download it straight to your Odin if you prefer) and then transferred it over to my Odin's internal storage, somewhere like the download folder, just not in android/data. Then I used a file manager (the Files app is fine) to move that folder into the the location I showed in the video. If say you were on PC and tried directly copying files over to the Yuzu folder, it won't work. If you watch my last video on PS2 custom textures I demonstrate that.
@@-roetaka My mistake was moving the fix folder from my download folder to Android/data using my PC. Yes, the only difference is the additional RAM and storage. The RAM allows you to open more apps, some android games may run better if they require that for some reason, and it probably handles a littttle Switch emulation better. But imo the amount extra you pay is not worth it unless you know a lot about this stuff and your use case, and can see the price of the Pro or Max being worth your while.
