Current vehicles are ridiculous and caricatured. They do not reflect the immersion of a real Expedition. Professional gameplay recordings will definitely appear on my YT channel. Greetings to fans of this series!
Considering they've reused assets from SR into this game and slap a price tag of a new game, I reckon it's only fair that they also give SR some free updates of QoL changes, and maybe add some badlands into SR's 4th Season Pass.
I kinda wish they stuck with snowrunner style stuff, the upgrades and paint feel so cluttered and hard to look at, after playing the game myself I can pretty comfortably say ill always be using thr solid tone paints
It seems fun but I think the no trailers thing kinda kills it unfortunately. I’d like to see some sort of child between this and snowrunner eventually.
the game is interesting and different but the main problem i have with spillproof cargo and stuff it just takes away the aspect of snowrunner and mudrunner that makes it cool the fact that its hard and challenging being able to just use an achor and not need a rescue truck just isnt my style
With the DLC. I know when I bought SR and the first "pass" I had the Bandit and Marshall in my garage at the start. Though no extra unlocks (that really does feel like cheating) I'm glad the tire pressures are back, good that the suspension seems to be overhauled too.
I love this game. I wanted a sucessor of Mudrunner and i become a sucessor of Mudrunner. Some of the haters should learn, that Mudrunner isnt Snowrunner.
I cant wait for the next Snowrunner like game. They really need to outdo themselves with the next one and stand tall and proud of what they create. Add in all the features and trucks fans have been asking about.
Probably gonna stop and hold at SR. Heck, I still go back to MR just cause the griddy, muddy, mechanical feel that game has. There are things MR had that I wish SR had. Thankfully they finally fixed the trucks no smoking a lot in SR. Now they smoke like they are supposed to. 👍
I'm about 25 hours in and it's FUN, yet disappointing. I feel like the vast majority of features in SR are absent here and they were replaced with.. nothing. We got like 2 new gadgets and a drone, other than that.. nadda. You can't juggle fuel between trucks, there is NO quick-menu, NO top-down (side scroll) menu, NO juggling repair parts between trucks, NO real garage, NO switching trucks on the fly (now have to navigate multiple sub-menus JUST to switch trucks sitting right next to eachother which is unbearably unintuitive.) Also the day and night cycle is WEAK, the sunsets and sunrises barely happen, it's just kind of night/day all of a sudden which is pretty pathetic considering how gorgeous and well designed those features were in SR.. headlights are weaker (don't reflect off of objects nearly as much) and night time in general is so BRIGHT you don't even really need your headlights.) The UI is atrocious, utterly terrible, the main menu is like your garage now which is incredibly inconvenient and immersion breaking. The driving itself is great, physics are great, trucks drive well and feel more realistically weighted than in SR. I have over 2000 hrs in the SR universe and I'm still not sick of that game.. Expiditions however I could totally see me being mentally done with in a few months.. also the maps are WAY SMALLER and there are FAR FEWER than in Snowrunner.. idk. Not a 'bad' game but I would call it a major step down from it's predecessor. The environmental laziness really bothered me, obviously the day night cycle in SR was a MAJOR drawing point of the game as it added depth and realism and beauty into the games playability.. so they just REMOVE that entirely.. ugh. I can't say it's a bad game because I'm still playing it, but I CAN say WAIT for a SALE. I wouldn't have paid the $70 I did if I had known what this game really was beforehand. Saber got lazy, and greedy, and Expiditions kind of just screams "CHEAPER!!" to experienced players such as myself (when in comparison to SnowRunner.) Even the cargo was changed from varying different (sometimes very interesting) objects to a gold colored cloth that sways in the wind and this is REGARDLESS of what youre hauling, can you say LAZINESS? WAIT, Wait until it's $20, and then you'll have your money's worth. I need a new driving Sim. Sorry Saber, but after this I feel our 10 year relationship may be coming to an end.. stick with the new greed-model, and lose loyal fanbse. The choice is yours. This isn't a new game its a DLC and we ALL know it. 👎 If I had to give any advice of substance I'd say immediately fire whoever designed your UI for this game. They even put the GEARBOX shifter as R1 instead of L1, which means you have to use the same finger as the GAS PEDAL to shift.. HOW was that not realized before release?!? Unbelievable guys.
Agreed on the no water damage, that's insanely stupid. I love a lot about this game but there are a lot questionable choices too. Maybe someone will make a "Realism" mod for it...
yup... the version I played isn't like fully ready for release but it's the version they gave to reviewers, youtubers... so I can only judge it through this version
As a Mudrunner fanboy, I have to say those trucks look like toys, wth. Plus the wip addons and bumpers having the wrong hitboxes is absolutely insane, the fact that a half assed mod from MR doesn't get that wrong but a car from this new game does is kinda crazy and doesn't speak great about the company behind it
Would be cool to be able to get out and put chains or a platform under tires when its stuck, or be able to dig it out with a shovel like the old dakar rally games, they could have done so much more but it just seems like an easier and more boring snowrunner, some additions seem neat and Ill probably grab it on a sale to play with friends but really was hoping for a bit more of a step up innovation wise
Looks very promising. I’ll start playing later tonight. The new AFIM (Italian truck) S1960 is probably my favourite from the looks alone. It’s so nice to have battery winch for small trucks like the Warthog (which it should have in SR as well) or the new Italian. I will certainly give the small ones a chance especially since their tire buff. Can’t wait until you’ll eventually do truck comparisons 👍
I want to be excited for this game, because I loved how the trucks felt in Mudrunner. They just felt like they existed in that living space they were in. I hope they don't loop the engine sounds like in SR.
Loving the videos!! You have to check out the door sticker called "I beat the game!" under customizations, make sure you scan it. It's an epic Easter egg!!!
@@VCN01Part of me hopes that it is a bug, and either of these things will be done: 1. The water damage buff will be reduced to, say, -20% or something 2. Vehicle will still have no water damage, but upon submerging its engine will shut off until you get it out of water

As a major Snowrunner fan, i think i`m gonna get this game too despite few shortcomings. If mods are supported the same way as SR this is gonna be so fun.
Good Video, thank you. Developpers give me feelings they are trying to sell me Snowrunner a second time ... This Expedition Game is just another DLC for Snowrunner ! And still don't understand what is the real purpose with this "Expedition". Ok, i will wait and see ...
Just wanted to point out it’s 19 vehicles you had 2 tuz 16 actaeons in the second row. Only 4 SE trucks. Great video though sd1one keep up the good work
Mine and probably 99 percent of others has 1 special edition tuz so you should show the difference in the 2 special editions cuz I only have 1. Maybe since you got a copy yours is different.
If you drive in auto or higher speeds with the tires aired down to the lowest setting, they will get damaged. There doesn’t seem to be anything causing damage to a single tire. But when you repair, it repairs all tires together.
Expeditions is a great add on, and i like that you can do something else then wood hauling. But its just that, an add on. For charging a full price, there must be more than this.
Does this one have gameplay that will satisfy the "rock-crawling" crowd? I'm not one of them, but it has always been a thread of interest in the spintires-and-beyond community and seems like an opportunity to take care of that.
I just want a dedicated Gearbox system on Snowrunner to play using Keyboard😂. If I was a beginner in Snowrunner, I would have loved the flatbed system for cargo in Expedition(I still like it), but, I kinda enjoy the long heavy trailer hauling through bumpy roads more 🤣
Choosing where you want to winch with the mouse is a HUGE improvement. *Edit*...nevermind, i just realized you could do that in the first game. Trying to find the right pinch point with a controller is a damn nightmare, but after watching this video i realized i could do it with my mouse....thank God lol
Can't imagine the new scout's being any better than my "YAR". Unless they've altered to the N-th degree, the way in which one can completely destroy their engine and or transmission, not to mention one or more tire's, when driving over even the smallest of rock's. Wanting to play as realistic as a game will allow is impossible in this game without the use of mod's that make playing the game more realistic. In real life, one purchases the various thing's to install on their four wheeler's. Various thing's that allow them to drive over big rock's let alone small ones. With out the various mod's modder's provide. Playing mud runner or snow runner in any way short of the N-th degree. Is going to spend most of their effort making credit's in repairing cost. Which when one in real life will spend credit's to avoid such issue's. One must in this game mod it.
I do not really see the point of this game, since it is very similar to SR. Of course there are some welcome additions, but in other places it is inferior to SR. So what is it? I hope they will not pour all ressources into this game, but start developement on Snowrunners real successor.
It's for people like me who grew tired of SR quite quickly, blasting on roads in high range then down to low+diff lock when you hit mud got boring when you had to do the same delivery 3 times. Great fun with friends tho!
This seems like one of those "We improved what lacked in our last game but forgot that it was meant to be a sequel" situations where the game could've very well been an update to snowrunner (kinda like what happened to FH4 > FH5) that also needs more time in the oven.
@@MrChineseFood Thats kind-off what i meant. If they wanted to do a spin-off, considering the current state of snowrunner, they could've made it a big DLC and include the vehicles (since theyre so similar) and maps there. The only reason for them to release a new title would be a sequel, one that improves many lacking aspects of Snowrunner, but they focused on that to the point where it just feels like a spin-off that forgot to be different or unique from the past game.
i wish they would make this game in year 2 and change it up were your scouting best routes+ places to build roads and bulidings / grages / gas stations then half way in year 2 or 3 u start buliding the infrastructure to do what mudrunner and snowrunner do best and they can leave all this exploring stuff as side quests
So in general: USA/Europe + old af russian vehicles + futuristic tech and addons + ugly repaints. Makes zero sense to me. I'll stick to SnowRunner for now.
This video made me pre-purchase the game. SnowRunner was bored and quitted but looks like I don't have to stuck myself into a lot of snow this time (Seriously, snow is nothing but just white annoyance)
Thanks for your great work, SD1ONE! Stuff like the ability to perform partial modules repair and the ability to move parts/cargo between trucks makes me want to buy this tbh. I however will not. I will resist... this all is needed in SnowRunner from day 1! And the "push winch" feature, and THANKS GOD THEY GAVE ALL SMALL TRUCKS AUTO WINCHES OMG!!!
Like Farming Sim and snow runner, mods make this game worth it. On snow runner I at least completed 3 maps before mods were even announced, on expeditions I started with mods installed 😂
Theres something off with the grip of tires. For example in the starting area theres car ramps for a service platform you need 4wd to even climb it, my small car irl can climb those and i seen real 4x4 "climb" a 90
Considering it's only 40 and comes with the same amount of map content as two seasons of SR in addition to the new changes, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. It may not "look" as good as SR but it feels better. Actually feel like I'm off-roading now. I'd rate it a solid 7/10. Now let's hope they stick true to their word and add some these changes to SR at some point.
So how is it that in a game with more open areas, slower trucks are better than in SnowRunner? To me, it's the complete opposite. Aside from that difference in opinions, great video. Thank you.
I like the new maps. The desert theme is quite fresh for the series. Also the Interfaces, UI looks nice, more organised. Other than that though the overall graphics don’t seem much improved. And the paint job on the vehicles looks ugly as heck. Still gonna play it eventually and probably enjoy it but seems quite minimal. I don’t really care about it feeling more “arcade” it doesn’t take away the fun factor to me. If anything it improves it. The only issue I really have is the lack of actual new content. Hardly any new vehicles, only one new biome by the looks (desert). They could add beaches, savannah, jungles. All with unique vegetation and feel but the devs seem to create new assets only as a last resort. The DLC maps in snowrunner all felt identical cause they refused to add new scenery assets

Coming here some months after release, I'll be honest, this game is basically just an SR year pass with some QOL changes and a different UI font, built-in cheat devices, more scout focus and it's sold/marketed as a different game. That's it. Edit: Just after writing this I thought they could just add the customizable roof racks, better addon combos and better upgrades to SR and make more profit from it than Expeditions.
While we all appreciate some of the new original ideas in Expeditions, the basic physics are still ridiculous as they were in Snowrunner. After yet another buggy crash/stuck in a small branch, I alt-f4-ed and went playing the old Mudrunner. Yes, it's bare-bone simple and less colorful but even now it feels much better to just drive.
I have been playing it since yesterday on the PS5, and it is unfortunate that it does not use haptic feedback on the controller. I am enjoying the game though.
Well I’ll stick with Snowrunner, so far I am about to complete the main vanilla game content, and honestly I am more than satisfied with the game, sure the physics aren’t the same as the Mudrunner, but still, its got more pro’s than con’s imo. And I like delivering loads. I’ll hold on for a future sale, maybe I’ll grab this one in some years.
I'll update this comment as per mistakes or new updates:

@@SD1ONE i maybe missed something, but judging by this and your previous video about this game:
There aren't really like game changing differences between this game and snowrunner, sure we now have drones, tires can be deflated and missions are a little different, but it's hardly a significant difference
I can be wrong thought since the game isn't finished yet, but I doubt they will implement something what will for sure make this game more different than snowrunner, therefore, this should've been a dlc, or at least a separate gamemode for snowrunner
Remind me of subnautica and subnautica below zero)
@@dedster3164 from my experince the vehicle physics feel like two different games
@@dedster3164tires could deflate in the original spintires 😂
All they had to do was make this a SR dlc and everyone would be happy with it.
I have a feeling this game will go on sale big time.
it's too much for DLC honestly...it has to different game
@@SD1ONEi agree but i would most definitely love to see half of the new features like split cargo bed and tire pressure.
Definently a spinoff some of these chanfes seem like they could easily been added to SR tho like the anchor or at least the autonomous winches
@@masterseeker360 the more of these types of games, the better tbh
@@raidermaxx2324well at least it doesnt seem like a lazy cashgrab like most other studios would throw out i feel like theres at least some passion going into this work
I like the title. There are new impressions and challenges. I will only play it when Professional Expedition Vehicles appear. I'm waiting for the work of the Ambitious Modding Community. Current vehicles are ridiculous and caricatured. They do not reflect the immersion of a real Expedition. Professional gameplay recordings will definitely appear on my YT channel. Greetings to fans of this series!
Honestly i wont buy this game in the next time, but i like that they want do some differents compared to the other games
Great work man you put so much efforts in these comparison videos. I watched almost all.
If so much effort is waggling your mouse around instead of graphics and using the totally unrealistic setting then yeah…
Considering they've reused assets from SR into this game and slap a price tag of a new game, I reckon it's only fair that they also give SR some free updates of QoL changes, and maybe add some badlands into SR's 4th Season Pass.
The game looks a bit cartoonist compared to snowrunner
I kinda wish they stuck with snowrunner style stuff, the upgrades and paint feel so cluttered and hard to look at, after playing the game myself I can pretty comfortably say ill always be using thr solid tone paints
Ik feels like an arcade game im gonna pass
The color tone are more saturated than Snowrunner. That's why it looks more cartoonist.
The colors are much more vibrant making it look less realistic and more like a game
like i dont understend these devs isnt it obviouse what we want ? just give us snoow runner maps and vehicles , plus vechicle physics from mudrunner
It seems fun but I think the no trailers thing kinda kills it unfortunately. I’d like to see some sort of child between this and snowrunner eventually.
No trailers is such a fucking L they don''t get the fan base.
the game is interesting and different but the main problem i have with spillproof cargo and stuff it just takes away the aspect of snowrunner and mudrunner that makes it cool the fact that its hard and challenging being able to just use an achor and not need a rescue truck just isnt my style
Same.. too easy
With the DLC. I know when I bought SR and the first "pass" I had the Bandit and Marshall in my garage at the start. Though no extra unlocks (that really does feel like cheating)
I'm glad the tire pressures are back, good that the suspension seems to be overhauled too.
The only new thing in this game are the ugliest upgrades and color scheme in the series
It looks arcady forsure
and the game made 100x easier, no need to use your skills anymore just go straight!
Твой отец уродлив, а игра - топ
True
@@MadisonReaves-b9m not only arcady, it looks very goofy. And the worst is that the color scheme make it looks like a hot wheels imaginary car
If I had to give any advice of substance I'd say immediately fire whoever designed your UI for this game. They even put the GEARBOX shifter as R1 instead of L1, which means you have to use the same finger as the GAS PEDAL to shift.. HOW was that not realized before release?!? Unbelievable guys.
As someone who has not even considered purchasing this game before, this video single handedly convinced me to buy it.
How has it gone so far??
I’ve been having a good time so far, I can’t wait for co-op and the modding community to start bringing us great content like they did in sr
Game is coming in 5 days and some addons are still work in progress?! And this no water damage perk... that's ridiculous!
I won't pre order ANY games before the first day review
Agreed on the no water damage, that's insanely stupid. I love a lot about this game but there are a lot questionable choices too. Maybe someone will make a "Realism" mod for it...
He was on a early pre-release version. This is more or less all fixed in my game. The pre-order edition.
yup... the version I played isn't like fully ready for release but it's the version they gave to reviewers, youtubers... so I can only judge it through this version
it's the version that was compiled for reviewing, there's no daily update.
As a Mudrunner fanboy, I have to say those trucks look like toys, wth. Plus the wip addons and bumpers having the wrong hitboxes is absolutely insane, the fact that a half assed mod from MR doesn't get that wrong but a car from this new game does is kinda crazy and doesn't speak great about the company behind it
Im on the fence about the game, but theres no deniying the desert map is beautiful
Can’t wait until you’ll eventually do truck comparisons 👍
wait how can you play it when it aint been released yet?
@@raidermaxx2324if you bought the year 1 edition you got access to the game on the 29th I think but don’t quote me on
@@traceyrobinson7748 Yes it's true I bought the supreme edition with the pioneer pack
Thanks for this video! I'll keep playing SnowRunner. This is not what I was expecting. No trailers or logs?! What is this world coming to?
WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH did they add a NO WATER DAMAGE PERK???? WHY EVEN HAVE SNORKELS IN THE GAME AT THIS POINT LMAO... THIS SERIES RUINED.
Also why echo sounder if there is no water damage perk?!
@@VCN01Part of me hopes that it is a bug, and either of these things will be done:
1. The water damage buff will be reduced to, say, -20% or something
2. Vehicle will still have no water damage, but upon submerging its engine will shut off until you get it out of water
flipping is basically meaningless now and i was really hoping for hard mode on launch this time such a shame my home state is part of this failure of a game im going to go play sailwind I was so hopeful for this
I hope they fix it when it comes out
your 2nd point is true...engine does get shut off in deep enough water but there's no damage to engine
Great info. Thanks, Didn't knew about some of these details. Glad to see couple of modded vehicles are already available at early start. Just finished first mission, Thought will check for some tips 😉
Looks like I'll be waiting for one of those heavy steam sales before I buy this.
Hits a rock gently .. Damged suspension & and tires, same old same old 🥱
I mean it's annoying yeah but really have you seen that happen in real life? Rocks like that can fuck you up if you aren't careful.
Just wanted to point out it’s 19 vehicles you had 2 tuz 16 actaeons in the second row. Only 4 SE trucks. Great video though sd1one keep up the good work
Nope...tuz actaeon has 3 models...1 base and 2 special edition
@@SD1ONE what's the difference between 2 SE Actaeons?
Pioneer pack SE has a bigger fuel tank... other one i didn't bother to check...
Mine and probably 99 percent of others has 1 special edition tuz so you should show the difference in the 2 special editions cuz I only have 1. Maybe since you got a copy yours is different.
Yeah no thanks, I'll stick to SR, as imperfect as it is.
So? If you get enough damage to your tires, they all go flat…….. 🤔😮
If you drive in auto or higher speeds with the tires aired down to the lowest setting, they will get damaged. There doesn’t seem to be anything causing damage to a single tire. But when you repair, it repairs all tires together.
@@jbw5485 you don’t get it, you missed the point….
It looks to me like they choose to turn from amature off-road truck simulation to a childish off-road arcade experience...😢
Expeditions is a great add on, and i like that you can do something else then wood hauling. But its just that, an add on. For charging a full price, there must be more than this.
Let’s hope they fix all these things when the game fully releases
Awesome video, thanks!
Does this one have gameplay that will satisfy the "rock-crawling" crowd? I'm not one of them, but it has always been a thread of interest in the spintires-and-beyond community and seems like an opportunity to take care of that.
with mods I think rock crawling would be better than SR because of improved rock grip
Rock crawling sucks i prefer thick mud and getting stuck
So, there are 14 cars in total. And not the most interesting ones. The game looks too childish compared to SR. I'll probably wait for dlc or mods.
I just want a dedicated Gearbox system on Snowrunner to play using Keyboard😂.
If I was a beginner in Snowrunner, I would have loved the flatbed system for cargo in Expedition(I still like it), but, I kinda enjoy the long heavy trailer hauling through bumpy roads more 🤣
I love the video keep up the amazing work and not wait to play the game
Glad they added the ANK MK38. Its the only truck i used it snow runner
Thanks for the video!
they should implement all the vehicles and physics in SR
Why did I preordered this misunderstanding...
Choosing where you want to winch with the mouse is a HUGE improvement.
*Edit*...nevermind, i just realized you could do that in the first game. Trying to find the right pinch point with a controller is a damn nightmare, but after watching this video i realized i could do it with my mouse....thank God lol
Yes but if there are trees and bushes it's sometimes trial end error to find out which of the points are the solid ones.
Can't wait to not buy this game! Good video though :)
The best youtuber of snowrunner 😊
Very useful content, thanks
9:00 Where's Bandit? It was shown in the trailers, but it's not in the game?
it is... did I forget to show it...I think i did
That fall was brutal
Its not a sequel. Its a spinoff.
The next logical step was made Snow Runner a little bit more realistic... they made the oposite.... this game will be a total failure
They've been making the series more and more casual with every new entry, a bit naive to hope for them to go back to serious simulation.
i wish they would make this game in year 2 and change it up were your scouting best routes+ places to build roads and bulidings / grages / gas stations then half way in year 2 or 3 u start buliding the infrastructure to do what mudrunner and snowrunner do best and they can leave all this exploring stuff as side quests
Mudrunner still on the top! #1
Wrong, snow in snowrunner is White mud
Never pre-purchase, or pre-order anything. Its a lesson you don't have to learn the hard way, but most people do.
Even if it is a side project game I like to think the $50 helps them towards another runner game
Dude it's going to be the same thing. I lost faith after snowrunner
all it needs is crossover DLC with death stranding for that awful bridges truck that tips over as soon as you hit a pebble
On snow runner I at least completed 3 maps before mods were even announced, on expeditions I started with mods installed 😂
so basically modded snowrunner with cheats
bruuuuh
Yeah...basically 🤦♂️
They should add (to Snowrunner and Expedition) an option to replace the worst tire before it gets flat.
All this game does is make me want to play snowrunner
Cheers for the insite, big sad there's no P12
Theres something off with the grip of tires. For example in the starting area theres car ramps for a service platform you need 4wd to even climb it, my small car irl can climb those and i seen real 4x4 "climb" a 90
Get yourself a Lo4f, he's a god damn professional
horse of a vehicle. the first one i bought as soon as i did the mission to unlock it
Considering it's only 40 and comes with the same amount of map content as two seasons of SR in addition to the new changes, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be.
Thank you.
wait so the larger trucks are a bit closer to feeling like mudrunner again?
Not like MR but definitely feel better than SR
Cars look floaty af
i dont get why they keep leaving those huge gaps between some cabins and the cargo
laziness
The big question is, if it's worth to buy the game ?
I ant be the only one really disappointed that there is no proper manual gearbox
I’ve literally been waiting since the release of mudrunner in 2017
Mudrunner: Offroading in the vast gritty wilderness of russia
Snowrunner: A painfull offroad experience along with amur and kola ptsd
Expeditions: Back to the future delorean off roading simulator 2024
I am enjoying the game though.
so this game is the scouting version of sr but with a bit more features for scouting got it sounds fun
Looking forward to it. Less than a week to go!
