Ticks are one of the most deadliest bugs in Australia, they are worst then drop bears. Just pour some methoated sprits on the tick and they will fall off and get your thong 🩴to quesh it. Your yard and chookies are looking great. 93f is notbad try over a 100f with high humidity where I live. We are back in lockdown now with a "Delta" strain of corinavirus, I have my second vac today, the first one hurt really bad, hope this one is ok. Love to you, keep safe Kas 💙🇦🇺💜

Ugh! I think we are seeing the variant here too but I think I heard our current vaccine is working against it too so far. Can be hard to keep up. Hope you are doing so well!

I put usb fans in each nest box. My houses are 2 ft. Above the run. Outside I have a Ryobi battery fans that shine under the house. They will run all day on low and are rechargeable. I live in Fl. My roofs of the house and nest box has water heater wrap insulation. My girls do fine during the sommer.

Hi how do I know when to leave the egg in the nesting box if it's fertile? Because every time she lays a egg I just bring it in...should I leave the eggs in the nesting box and she'll decide weather to lay on them or not?

Hi! I have two questions 🙃🤪 Number one I just bought the same rooster booster I don’t know how much to put in the waters, it says 1/3 of a teaspoon but I don’t have that measurement. How much do you put? Also we have four silky chicks and our buff silky has a red face, none of our other chicks have any red or development in the comb or waddles. Can that be a roo? They are about 4 months old, too early? Also here in Oregon we had a record temperature up to 115 degrees! 🥵
    Anyway love the videos! ❤️🐔

Hi! I don't measure and probably put less in then what is recommended, but I only put a pinch from between my thumb and forefinger in their water for the day. It sounds like you might have a roo due to comb and wattles. And according to my silkie genetics book (Silkies and Bantam Silkies by Sigrid Van Dort) If I am understanding correctly, the Buff colored silkies have more red/mulberry faces due to a gene that dilutes the black/bluish skin color.

Birch Moon Farm Thank you, I’ll just keep an eye on that suspicious one! 😂 I’ll be bummed if he’s a rooster though. Not allowed where we live! 😪

They seem to have ear mites! I have only had chickens for 3 months so know nothing! But I know a lot about dogs and your dog is shaking his ears!!!!!! I'm willing to bet money something is in his ears! Which your chickens are doing the same thing and bad! I'm not putting you down just trying to maybe give you a possible direction. As I said I know nothing about chickens that is why I watch!

Hi! No offense taken. I thought so too about the mites and even after a full inspection I havent found any. Silkies tend to be head shakers a lot due to their crest and chickens can tend to scratch 🙂 Baxter does have ear problems due to allergies according to our vet. My daughter worked at as a vet tech for a couple of years and inspects them and says nothing is in them. We have a vet apt tomorrow to get more medicine. When we got him he had horrible allergy issues and it took us about 6 months to determine what it was and to get him better. He is allergic to anything fowl, so chickens, duck, eggs, etc. This is the last vestiges of that.

@@birchmoonfarm101 I had a baby (English Mastiff) that stayed miserable day and night obviously some kind of allergy. Those are so hard to narrow down!!!! So many possibilities!!!! I now remember shacking her head really hard all the time was included in all her itchiness. I found out she was allergic to grass when we moved and the driveway was dirt and gravel causing a huge portion of the front and side to have no grass. Instantly EVERY SINGLE ITCHY NIGHTMARE went away!!! She loved laying out in the dirt for hours enjoying life.
I've never missed a dog as much as I do that girl!!!!
Hope you find her itch! I know how sad you must feel knowing that you may not be able to find the solution leaving only easing the discomfort.
I'm sorry I need to explain that with Gracie we had up's and down's using daily and outbreak meds. Assuming foods, soaps, beds, seasonal allergy along the way was possibly the problem. When we moved within days no allergies existed unless we took her to family or friends to visit. Then instantly bald spots from scratching. Try different locations if you have an opportunity because allergies come and go instantly with exposure! If you have any doubt
