I have 22 LTZ that has everything this HC has except power running boards and super cruise and the HC badging. I have the 5.3L V8. I opted for the multifunction tailgate. I had a 2019 HC with the 6.2L which I can say is nice but is a fuel hog. I do have adaptive CC which is nice. I’m a little leary of the super cruise. Btw, You can change the gauge cluster look in the center menu. Also, if you don’t subscribe to a Onstar data plan, you cannot use the built in Google maps. I use my Google maps thru my iPhone. I also added a Pedal Commander, which wakes up the 5.3 and makes it feel as quick as the 6.2. Otherwise, nice truck. On a side note, there are NO 12V outlets anywhere in or on the truck, just USB ports. I wish GM would bring them back. Otherwise, if you want a 12V outlet, you can get a USB to 12V adapter.
People saying these trucks will never get used as intended…. Back than trucks were made for farmers or people who worked in the outdoors. But now they’re used to haul other vehicles around. This is why they make them so expensive and luxurious because it’s a totally different market now in days. Some of these guys are hauling vehicles for days u til they get to their destination. And most if not all sleep in their trucks. So a more spacious and luxurious truck makes sense. And they’re also gettin paid well to haul… they can afford it cuz they bring in the income. But if your earning barely 40-50k a month and want to finance a 80k truck without getting money out of it, than yeah probably the loaded truck with all the bells and whistles is not for you.
Love the camera angle. Really makes you feel like you're driving. Doing some research on which 1500 to buy. But I have to say that until 99 percent of the cars on the road have a self driving ability I personally don't need/want it. Honestly to me it's more of a useless novelty at the moment. I personally would love to see a grid type of system for interstate driving eventually. With cars automatically spaced a good distance, you could easily go 90 mph or higher. Of course you'd have to address semis and their speed governors.
I got a 2024 Toyota Tundra Iforce Max hybrid 1794 edition and I cannot be happier with it. Yes, I did pay a bit more, but it was worth! I went to a Chevy dealer and the sales guys didn't know how to sell the product. None of my questions were properly answered. But when I got in the Tundra, that was it. I instantly connected with the truck and the interior is to die for. At night, the mood lights are so cool! It feels like a luxury car. Wife is happy to get on the truck as well. That is a double bonus....
@@JokerG16 Did you know the 6.2L has 460 lbs of torque versus the Tundra which has 583 lbs of torque? That torque is pretty close to diesel territory not too long ago. I like both engines and prefer a V8, but I can see why the Tundra owner made his decision. That torque is insane for a V6 and has Toyota engineering behind it. I do get the hybrid stuff is not really compelling for most truck owners, but I guess they are trying to move the industry forward. At least it's not an all-electric vehicle, which I think is a bad choice for a pickup truck that will tow anything.
I wanted to like the Tundra, but hated how cheaply made it is. Paint is also horrendous. I’m glad I passed on it after seeing all the engine issues now.
Love the interior for the most part, screens are a love/hate thing for me. Absolutely hate the shifter but besides that its a sharp truck. Also hate the afm/dfm or whatever their calling it for the gen, in the middle of a dod delete on my 2017 right now.
If I have to constantly look forward, I would just steer the damn thing. It is cool technology but isn't buying me much if I can't do other stuff while it drives.
I love M14, your going 80 and people are passing you. I have the same truck with super cruise but with the 3.0 diesel, Love It 28-30mpg on the highway.
It's very mediocre. I've had worse systems, but it is fairly muddy sounding regardless of how you adjust the settings. My last vehicle had a 15 speaker Harmon Kardon system that was actually probably the best system I've had in a vehicle without aftermarket upgrades.
Man I remember when the 2019 Silverado came out I thought GM trucks were never gonna live up to Ram, but man they did there thing with the Silverado and especially Sierra. They went from worst to best in class. All we need now is a 6.2 supercharged Engine or a Twin Turbo Inline 6 engine that can have some power to compete with the Raptor and TRX
This is so good! I might just wait until 2025 to buy the new HD ZR2. Maybe GM will add this feature next year to the other models. IMO, this is 100% worth the money.
What's with going away from colum shifters especially in the more lux trim levels of all trucks? Especially that it takes up space from the center console
Man, they should have kept the long column shifter on the 1500 models... all that space in the middle console that could've held a box, paperwork, bag of food from a drive thru, all of it wasted by a stupid small trigger handle pointlessly in the way like some fake video game drag shifter joystick thing. If you agree with this rant then know that they kept it the right way (on the column) in the 2024 2500 and 3500 HD models that ALSO come in High Country. I'd spend the extra $5-10k just to have the shifter and space back the way it should be (and be able to tow like 20k lbs!) :)
Cool truck, and review! What worries me is the aging problem with super cruise, like when the system is 10-15 years old would be a. Nightmare to fix when it goes wrong. Also all these digital displays won’t last and what happens in 10-15 years as the 2nd or 3rd owner will these things run at that time?
Not for nothing, but any gearbox is gonna be “buttery smooth” when it’s brand new 🥴 I’ll tell ya what tho, if you keep shifting into gears that don’t match the speed, it won’t be 😮💨
The blinking steering wheel is horrendous. Also a young lady just died locally xmas eve cuz her car somehow drove into one of those suburban drainage lakes. it alerted her emergency contacts and first responders from the bottom of the lake. they arrived on scene (way late) and couldnt find the car. tox report was unremarkable. Makes ya wonder. Ill pass on the self driving cars thanks.
I'm late but I saw nobody replied. Just wanted to give you a heads up that light isn't actually there, it's infrared which shows up on cameras but not to our eyes. If you have a tv remote and point your phone camera at it you can see a similar light
Do the seats fold flat into beds? The f150 max recline seats are dope and a surprising amount of vehicles have features like that. My 2003 pathfinder does you gotta take the headrests off but ya the seats turn into beds its really cool
If you still have this vehicle to test or one similar to it does the super cruise work in urban environments, so if you're in town where you have two lane roads with red lights and stop and go traffic will it function there as well. I see the super cruise maps and a lot of towns are covered as well as the roads in town so the business routes are also green. So I would like to see you demonstrate that in town on a 35 mph road that you have stop lights and stop signs and write and left turns if possible

On a side note, there are NO 12V outlets anywhere in or on the truck, just USB ports. I wish GM would bring them back. Otherwise, if you want a 12V outlet, you can get a USB to 12V adapter.
GM did a great job with the interior redesign. Too bad they didn't get the SUVs completed for the 2024 models.
Your info states 66k? I have the 2024 HC 5.3 without super cruise or Hud, and no moonroof and MSRP is 69k.
Did I miss something?
Love that super cruise doesn’t scream at you for not having your hands on the wheel (unlike Tesla).
That is a double bonus....
be honest…you wish you had that 6.2 rather than that tiny V6 hybrid crap
@@JokerG16 I use my truck for luxury and for when I need to buy something for the house... And the interior is awesome!
Got mine today replace my silverado 2019(high country), loved the previous, will love this one too.
Now I want to be in debt with this Chevy
Gotta give him credit for trying to minimize the dirt from that dirt road on those floor mats 28:11
American truck is Amazing
Definitely need this for my target and sams club runs.
Incredible how far trucks have come lately!
If you need a truck as a luxury car you don't need a truck.
I hope 2025 suburban looks like this
Love the interior for the most part, screens are a love/hate thing for me. Absolutely hate the shifter but besides that its a sharp truck. Also hate the afm/dfm or whatever their calling it for the gen, in the middle of a dod delete on my 2017 right now.
I want one of these trucks as my next vehicle
Beautiful truck! Powerhouse too. I’ve always loved the way these sound. Just wish they were reliable.
Tell me about it! Maintenance to keep this running past the warranty period will be high! 😢
If I have to constantly look forward, I would just steer the damn thing. It is cool technology but isn't buying me much if I can't do other stuff while it drives.
Finally a Chevy does something which Honda has been doing for past 10 years (without monkey blinkers on steering)
I love M14, your going 80 and people are passing you. I have the same truck with super cruise but with the 3.0 diesel, Love It 28-30mpg on the highway.
I find bose, regardless of vehicle, always sounds good. Also, suprised there aren't cooled seats in the rear.
It's very mediocre. I've had worse systems, but it is fairly muddy sounding regardless of how you adjust the settings. My last vehicle had a 15 speaker Harmon Kardon system that was actually probably the best system I've had in a vehicle without aftermarket upgrades.
That’s one thing GM needs to work on is the response of the paddle shifters
For some reason everyone feels compelled to copy yurop's design.
How does Super Cruise compare to Kia/Hyundai Highway Drive Assist 2 on latest Telluride/Palisade?
What camera do you use? Thanks a lot for a great video!
I’m still driving my 2004 dodge ram 1500. It was my first full size truck and I may never sell it.
GMC is king
Damn that’s a beauty
Changing the gear place is the best so far
Damn that super cruise is badass. If I was rich I’d cop one
Not for nothing, but any gearbox is gonna be “buttery smooth” when it’s brand new 🥴 I’ll tell ya what tho, if you keep shifting into gears that don’t match the speed, it won’t be 😮💨
i think the higher trim rams are more luxurious. even have ventilated seats in the back
Great truck but what a bummer you have to pay a subscription for the super cruise to work after trial period
Remember way back: "Nobody Sweats The Recalls Like GM"
How is the interior noise? in the video it sounded quite loud
Very quiet actually.
That super cruise will come in handy after getting smashed at the bar and going home at 3am
Do the seats fold flat into beds? The f150 max recline seats are dope and a surprising amount of vehicles have features like that. My 2003 pathfinder does you gotta take the headrests off but ya the seats turn into beds its really cool
based on the crappy road conditions it appears you are in Michigan.
These have been breaking down all across the country
If you still have this vehicle to test or one similar to it does the super cruise work in urban environments, so if you're in town where you have two lane roads with red lights and stop and go traffic will it function there as well. I see the super cruise maps and a lot of towns are covered as well as the roads in town so the business routes are also green. So I would like to see you demonstrate that in town on a 35 mph road that you have stop lights and stop signs and write and left turns if possible
Beautiful truck, just missing the multifunction tailgate.
I’d take the LZ0 3.0 duramax over the 6.2 especially here in CO at elevation
