Stewart Copeland put everything into that first game soundtrack. That main theme still kills. Very whimsical and fairytale land rock and roll. The first game's atmosphere & theming is by far my favorite of the whole series.
Yeah same! I looked it up and it’s mainly the usual “Summer Forest slowed down” which is cool, but that’s just a Distorted Reality atmosphere sample. The actual tracks sound so cool slowed + reverb. The reverb btw is quite subtle, it’s two stacked on eachother and barely pronounced but it’s there.
Thanks for pointing out the fact that the Spyro 2 homeworlds are just DR loops! They’re good but they don’t deserve all the praise for simply being DR loops and not actual compositions (no hate, just my opinion/hottake)

I have a robotic bird called a cleverkeet that has a recording feature that pitch shifts everything by 4 semitones (and yeah I figured that out when I was real lil) so basically if I recorded these onto it it would sound normal 😁

Sounds great in theory but doing that does degrade the audio because it has to transpose all the elements while keeping the same speed. So it’s definitely possible but it won’t always sound awesome.
That’s a great video but I prefer a more cleaner sound rather than the vibrato/overly reverbed effect, plus this upload includes all the bonus tracks. Judges might score this as a tie at minimum 😂
