I developed severe dry eye suddenly a couple of years ago. The doctor sent me home with a variety of drops that did not help. I also tried the warm compress which provided no relief whatsoever. I then came across an article during my research about vitamin D deficiency and dry eye. I found that interesting as I spend a great deal of time inside and do not get much vitamin D from my diet. I started a vitamin D supplement and my symptoms improved significantly within a week. I added fish oil as well and symptoms have not returned.

I recently went into a visit for dry eyes. The doctor looked into my eyes with the light. After he was done I asked him how my eyes looked and if they looked healthy. The optometrist said he didn't look and that I was only there for dry eyes and that I would need to make another appointment! WTF...He spent a several minutes explaining why he didn't check the health of my eyes and how I would need to make another appointment. As his lips were moving I kept thinking to myself the he spent more time explaining why he didn't check the health of my eyes than the time it would have taken him to "look"...What's wrong with people...!!

have had dry eye issues, specifically recurrent cornea abrasions, for the last 4 years. I have tried EVERYTHING.: bandage contac lenses (3x), all brands of eye drops, humidifier, Bruder mask 3x a day followed by massage, =ointment nightly, autologous serum, fish oil supplements, three one-touch treatments to express the glands, three IPL treatments, and four keretectomies! Regarding tip #3 for Blepharitis; my Opthamologist recommended shampooing my eyes along the upper and lower eyelashes with baby shampoo 1x A.M. & 1x before bed, I found it works great! Using 1 drop of shampoo on a moistened pad & then “rinse” by using a 2nd pad with only water. Pat dry then put drops in. I use no more tears by Johnson &Johnson for it no irritating, gentleness.👍

Thank you for a great, highly educational video about a problem that must be very common, and one that certainly bothers me. I have been using the Systane eye drops, on your recommendation.
I also got a wet wipe warmer. The kind that parents have in their nursery for baby wipes. When I wake up in the morning I grab several warm wipes and I press them over my eyes until all the heat is out of the wipes. It's so soothing. And that is how I clean my eyes in the morning with those wipes after the heat has transferred through my lids.
I do feel that it is helping my Meibomian glands to release their oils. And when I want to use an Ocusoft Lid Scrub wet wipe, I put it in my wipe warmer for a half an hour first. That way it's warm. But the ocusoft lid scrub wipes are slightly harsh. Prefer the baby wipes. Those are my tips!
    Thanks for all you do!
Zelda loves you! And so do we! 💕

You have helped me more than my eye surgeon has!!!! I've had dry eyes since my two cataract surgeries. The first one was on June 9, 2021 and July 21, 2021. I've been miserable ever since. He has done some YAG laser on both eyes but they are still dry. I wear either sunglasses or blue blockers at all times, inside and outside. (I sent you this message on another video of yours but not as thorough.) I had punctal plugs put in. I think they worked a little but I still wear the glasses. I put PF Systane in about 3 times a day. They're more annoying than anything. He never mentioned Omega 3's, Moisture Chambers, or the specific eye compresses you have mentioned. His assistant told me to wet a rag and put it in the microwave and place on my eyes twice a day. He also told me to gently massage my eyelides afterwards. Those instructions don't seem to be working much either. 😞 I appreciate all your information and I feel like I have some hope. Oh, and he suggested I see another doctor in his office regarding LipiFlow. You didn't mention that at all. What are your thoughts?

Loved seeing Zelda in the video! My eyes became so blurry for eye drop over use. I literally could not see. It was as if I was looking from under water. The first Doc I saw was actually an optician and told me it was allergies that suddenly came up and I would have to get rid of my cat and carpet. I saw a second Doc who was an ophthalmologist and he immediately recognized that my sclera was super irritated and was causing tears to pool in my eyes. So I really was looking through water. He recommended I discontinue use of any drop with preservatives, which I did and my eyes cleared up.

I just wanted to thank you so much for this video. This allergy season has been rough, and after rubbing my itchy eyes like crazy about a week and a half ago, one eye stayed bloodshot red. I went to my doctor right after and was prescribed prescription eye drops but, after a week went by nothing had changed. Your suggestion to put a hot pad on my eye and blink a bunch of times got rid on my red eye the next day😭🙌🏻 thank you so much!

My eyes have been dry for a couple years. Thank you as I’ve gotten a lot of good advice from you. My MGD has gotten worse despite hot masks, I recently learned about the preservative free drops. I just can’t afford to spend thousands on Lipiflow. Been wanting to know if there’s an oil or gel I can use at night to soothe them. The lack of moisture seems to put pressure on my eyeball and even make me woozy. I’ll try the ones you recommend. The drops just don’t last long enough for me. You are extremely helpful!!

Insanely dry eyes. Migraines are the worst. Begged my optomologist for the numbing drops, even. 😂 The chronic use of eye drops have taught me to stay away from anything that says "redness relief". I live with forever using artificial tears, more than I apply lip gloss. The moist heat compresses work best for me and I notice a significant difference when I do this at the beginning and end of every day. It may seem a hassle but it's better than increasing migraine meds and trying to juggle more eye drops than absolutely necessary.

@@DoctorEyeHealth Actually, I have asked about them, but I won't switch doctors and he's reluctant. We switched up contacts a couple of times and I found whereas I can tolerate the UV transition contacts, they are not a good choice because of my problematic dryness. I stress to him that my eyes are even more dry with my glasses than they are with the Oasis. The daily disposables were also more difficult for some reason, regardless of my allergies.
I had looked this up thinking the daily were made of a lesser material but one consumer report suggested they were the same as the extended wear.
Wearing my glasses is not easier on my migraines on dryness inspire of using drops. My eyes are exactly as you mentioned, the drops, even the salves dry up quickly. The salves don't seem to penetrate.
I'm still of the mind that the numbing drops would maybe help with the eye pain that becomes a migraine all too often. I understand that any kind of allergy medication, especially the nasal sprays complicates any existing issues with dry eyes.
A few years ago, my eyes were so inflamed that I bought everything otc I could and became paranoid I had mites. When I went to see him, I had even cut my hair. He said my cornea looked like chaffed, cracked winter hands. I started using (this will likely make everyone cringe) castor oil and moist heat compresses. I have to do this regularly, but it's messy.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I chemically burned my eye lids with essential oils (mostly peppermint and winter green blend). I fell asleep with them on my face. My symptoms are swollen lids, light sensitive, dry eyes. Dr said no permanent damage but it would take months to fully heal. I am on a tapered treatment of steriods for 3 weeks( week 1 3drops daily, week 2 two drops daily, week 3 1 drop daily). I am also taking omega supplements. What do you think of the steriod treatment? What do you think of green tea as a treatment (either topically or orally)? Anything else you would recommend for this injury? Help :)

I've had dryeyes for around 15 years and using hypromellose eyedrops as prescribed and is initially soothing.
My eyes water sometimes and can make my vision mildly blurry, it's probably the wrong type of fluid without the essential oil. Have been using digital screens a lot over the last 20 years which is probably the cause, so am now limiting the time on them. The eyelid and lash cleaning seems a good call, I was unaware of this.
