This guy is a m monster. This winter wind version by Kissin seems to be above the winter wind performances I've heard in the Chopin Competitions recently
Dare to say, Evgeny kissin's Chopin is the epitome of playing. Bible of Chopin performance. The most important point in Chopin's piano work is that the left-handed bass must be heard clearly.
At such level of.playing he masterly succeeds to bring the melody in the left hand in a way that it wont interfer to the right hand, a thing only few achieve even around the best of the best. Bravo kissin
What a master, he just flies and with the most beautiful gentle, full of feeling touch.

@@63302426 I agree that Martha Argerich and Krystian Zimerman are some of the best classical pianists to ever live. I think Evgeny Kissin is one of the best Chopin and Liszt interpreters to ever live.
I think kissin is the best piano player overall he plays everything so precise and accurately, every note is in perfect sequence, Zimmerman plays the ballades like no one else with his great sense of dynamics and just pure understanding of Chopin and lisitsa has the speed for Rachmaninov and Liszt but her voicing is also incredible.
I wouldn't think of him as a chopinist - and he's not. His everything is in Schumann. But this etude, as well as Chopin's second sonata - Kissin owns them both. My absolute top favorite .
Valentina 3rd place 🥉 12yo Ryota 2nd place🥈 This guy 1st place 🥇 Hands down... yet less than 50k views smh. Hats off to all 3 performers tho they’re all remarkable. And the guy wit the little stardust piano notes too wit the black background.
not to mention this isn't the kinda piece you can just sightread, the ammount of coordination gymnastics going on, it begs for some pretty heavy practice. At which point memorizing is just a consequence of it
I’ve got huge hands, so for me that part isn’t an issue, as my hand just hover. I would recommend gradually increasing speed. And try playing it without seeing the piano slowly, and go faster.
I play this piece as a warm up exercise before turning to more demanding pieces. But it‘s cute of kissin to choose it for an actual concert. He tries and that‘s what counts….
They're concert etudes smartass, they are meant to be played in front of an audience. And I bet your performance doesn't compare with his if you simply see it as a warm up.

The perfect thing to play if someone asks you if you can play piano

Kissin was totally on fire during this concert. Op. 10 No. 4 and No. 12 are also amazing.
Me at the beginning line: Hehe easy-
After that:
H e l p p l e a s e
Kissin is amazing.. I'm so glad this performance was recorded
The most rigorous performance of this Etude... just amazing

박성은 yes. Actually it is the case for a lot of chopin's etudes
In this piece the left hand is the melody not the bass.
Trevs
I think they are equals bc if I hear either the left or right, I will recognize it
yes... Good comment :)
When homeboys got this hair cut you just know the piano gonna be fire 🔥
this is one of the better versions on youtube

Brilliant, monstruous, fantastic, unbelievable.
I love how at the start he was playing it with 2 fingers making most of them think that he is rookie...
I don’t think anyone will mistake Kissin for a rookie.
I have to admit, I could play the first 8 notes. When you see what he does, you know he epitomises the saying, " Go big, or go home".
By far the best performance of this daunting etude ever.
What a master, he just flies and with the most beautiful gentle, full of feeling touch.

one of the most creative interpretations I've seen
nice dynamics
Honestly I think evgenny kissin is the best piano player in the world
Same. I previously thought it was Lisitsa, but I feel like Kissin is slightly better.
@@bananabattlebean4858 If you only look at raw mechanics he is clearly better! He plays SO clean and precise... it really is unbelievable
I mean Martha Argerich and Zimmermann....

god damn. great song to listen to when you're angry. beautifully done.
To play too😁
I play Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement for that, easy to play while smashing the keys.
Fantastic!!
The slight pause 3:20-3:21 and then the tornado starts to run, never to be seen again :)
Wowww i love it so much🎹🎹🎹
Simply the best cover of this piece
Fantastica ! He made it so interesting.
such a hard song to play perfectly everytime. he is pretty close. the dynamics are all over the place
Immense performance!
He plays the beggining just like Richter!

sheytanovamalena agreed
Kissin himself has told that Chopin is his favorite composer, and he plays him amazingly well
My mans took his time wit that bow...passion
Me encanta este tema por la calma intranquila que siento al escucharla yqs

Can we give him props for memorizing the whole thing too?!?!

Hola migala :3
Can anyone give me tips for 0:52, I can play the whole piece but for some reason I always fuck up that part
Davide Nalini which hand? I’m looking at my right, and my only tip - practice a lot increasing temp from 50 to 100+ bpm)
I’ve got huge hands, so for me that part isn’t an issue, as my hand just hover. I would recommend gradually increasing speed. And try playing it without seeing the piano slowly, and go faster.

hey yo i think i can play this its kinda easy

Rongpei Lan wow so original
Lol the little blurry recording makes his hands are moving faster than they actually are
2:17: How to mess up a stunning performance
He never played the same after he lost his afro.
There's so much dynamic range compression in this video that the soft parts are louder than the loud parts. Just a terrible mixing job.
This is both extremely motivating and disappointing because you want to play this so badly but you know you will never play it as good as him.
