The Pixel 5 isn't as wide as others, better use photosphere for wider pics on the Pixel 5. I think Google doesn't care about their Pixel devices anymore and it's high time for Google to upgrade their camera h/w...
@@RedskullPro And yet... it looks "better" than the iPhone 11 at 4K for some reason. Like around 7:04, the Pixel 5 video you can see skin texture on your head as well as left texture on the trees in the background while it looks soft on the iPhone 11. Even the black car looks a lot sharper... Is seem odd is that a focus issue? Normally downsampling 4k to 1080p should end up with an even sharper 1080p than regular 1080p. Why does the iPhone 11 in this look so much worse? Maybe you have the onscreen labels switched by accident?

In edge detection Apple and Google take a different approach. Apple detects the edge and then blurs where it sees the edge. Google instead tries to make a clear cut between edge and blured background, which sometimes causes an issue with the detection by the hair. They seem to be very similar. The iPhone adds more green to pictures. Although this is more true to life, with skin tones this looks less good in my opinion. Although when I compare the picture I take with the iphone with my own eyes the actual amount of green is higher even. The pixel removes most of it, looks better but less realistic.

For the stabilization features on the Pixel 5, the Active one is best and works better if your walking, running, panning really fast. Try the video again with the Standard and Active and you will see an difference.
iphone 11 takes better portrait pictures, it understands the subject and brightens up making for the signature iphone look. I prefer iphone's processing, don't forget it's much much faster than pixel 5. Google needs to start using a newer camera module.
Google being primarily a software company and recently entering the hardware industry in the past few years, it's no surprise that their software and camera processing is dominating the smartphone industry.
The video motion blur when you move the phone left to right at 8:44 and 9:19 on the Pixel 5 is horrendous compared to the iPhone. iPhone is significantly smoother. Such a shame I was considering upgrading from my 3 XL.
I agree, almost looks surreal how it misses all the details in the leafs :S Wonder if there's a way to tweek it in the settings, maybe without the active option he mentioned. Nonetheless, pictures are great and with a great battery/new screen I'm still gonna get the Pixel 5 soon.
The active option make the video look very muddy...i don't think I will ever use that option. The motion blur however...is a problem witm most android phones :( That's why I always pan left right
im still using the pixel 3. love the photos that i get from it. the video quality is so underwhelming. its fine for some Instagram stories...but nothing past that really. Iphone videos at times can look really impressive.
Pixel has more details in the areas and in the skin and It seems to me it has a true color, and best night mode. iPhone turned the skin a little bit orange and smooth it. It's a excellent smartphone but I would buy Pixel.
The comparison is great but I think it all comes down to what you prefer in a picture. If the pictures were not labeled you would be hard pressed to tell them apart.

Greetings Alex! Nice review. I'm actually amazed by that Pixel 5 camera. Wow...it performs really well! Those portrait shots were perfect! Accurate colors, nice details...realistic exposure... But that edge detection on the iPhone is just miles ahead :D Anyway...these two phones are beasts!
I'm a lifelong android user but will be switching to apple in order to get the 12 pro max. I think that device will blow the competition out of the water for the forseeable in terms of video and very possibly photo quality. Looking forward to you review of that in November Alex!
The thing is… everyone is entitled to their opinion :) what I like may not be what you like… and that’s why you have many pictures side by side so you can come up with your own thoughts 😇

at the end of the day, if you are going to buy your phone based upon a camera then that's stupid. at the end.... both cameras are above an A grade. It's like seeing which one is the A++++ to make the final decision. A phone should be based upon it's abilities. example would be like a Samsung which has Expandable storage of up to 1 TB Better CPU (fun fact Pixel 4 CPU is better than Pixel 5) 120 refresh screen Magnetic Swipe Technology and NFC Secure Folder DeX reverse wireless charging (pixel just got this) larger display .... google still uses a sensor based upon the pixel 2.
Man it looks like the pixel beats the iPhone. It's like the iPhone is 5/8 as good as the pixel. If Apple will just get their fucking cameras to work better it would be a no brainer.
What i've noticed that iphone makes me a lot slimmer. Now I am choosing between iphone 12 and samsung 20fe and also think about pixel 5.... I like iphone more only because of that filter... It bothers me.
The dog looks better in the iPhone portraits. ;) Lacking zoom lenses, both phones kinda suck in the zoom pictures; ultrawide pictures look much better on the overpriced Apple device. In video, the image stabilization on the Google phone definitely leaves much to be desired.
iPhone 11 crushes Pixel 5 in Video quality tbh , the video on Pixel looks so blury and not clear even at 4k30fps and 4k60fps , for camera pics they are fairly similar , its a matter of choice and what people prefer ...
This actually hurts me to say... but if I was to echo truth, it would ring out, the iPhone just looks better and more natural in almost all video... and this is coming from someone who already owned an iPhone 11 from release date and bought the Pixel 5 today... as far as video goes, the iPhone is just better
Google really stepped it up for the video but I think iPhone is still ahead. The pictures on the pixel 5 looks better however.

iphone 11 takes better portrait pictures, it understands the subject and brightens up making for the signature iphone look. I prefer iphone's processing, don't forget it's much much faster than pixel 5. Google needs to start using a newer camera module.
Google being primarily a software company and recently entering the hardware industry in the past few years, it's no surprise that their software and camera processing is dominating the smartphone industry.
but I feel that most manufacturers are catching up to them
@@RedskullPro Definitely. Everyone catches up eventually 😌
The motion blur however...is a problem witm most android phones :( That's why I always pan left right
Can't wait for iPhone 11 vs iPhone 12 👽
Coming in the near future! :)
im still using the pixel 3. love the photos that i get from it. the video quality is so underwhelming. its fine for some Instagram stories...but nothing past that really. Iphone videos at times can look really impressive.
The video quality has finally improved on the Pixel 5...it was about time
Panning makes the pixel struggle to focus while in every situation iPhone worked perfectly. P2XL user here.
Would be interested a comparison with s10 lite, its a kinda "old" but, no one compared it against a s10 plus or E, I don't know.
and I'm watching a lot of your videos, an excellent job🙏🏽
Unfortunately, I prefer the iPhone. I hate IOS but their camera is far superior to Android.
What?
Are you kidding?
Pixel has more details in the areas and in the skin and It seems to me it has a true color, and best night mode. iPhone turned the skin a little bit orange and smooth it. It's a excellent smartphone but I would buy Pixel.
Hmmm I see that some photos and especially visible on front camera video that Pixel tries to sharpen everything too much.
The comparison is great but I think it all comes down to what you prefer in a picture. If the pictures were not labeled you would be hard pressed to tell them apart.
You are the best at what you do, and one question: which camera is better? Iphone 11 or Iphone 11 pro max? and because? I am a professional fighter from Peru, I really love watching these great videos that you make. 👊🏽 God is with you always
Hey, so camera wise there is no real difference between the main and ultra wide cameras on the iphone 11 and 11 Pro. The 11 Pro however has a extra telephoto lens.
For the iphone 12 there is a difference for cameras! Thanks for watching all the way from Peru!
Hi bro how are you?? I have one question who is best camera smart phone 2020 Huawei p40 pro plus, Samsung S20 ultra, one plus 8T, pixel 5 who is?? Your Please share your opinion
so... I didn't use the oneplus 8t, so I can't talk about that one, but if I go somewhere where I know I will take pictures I will bring the Huawei p40 Pro with me over any other phone
@@RedskullPro Thnxq so much ❤️
Greetings Alex!
Nice review.
I'm actually amazed by that Pixel 5 camera. Wow...it performs really well!
Those portrait shots were perfect! Accurate colors, nice details...realistic exposure...
But that edge detection on the iPhone is just miles ahead :D
Anyway...these two phones are beasts!
Hey, thank you very much for watching. Yeah, such a shame that the edge detection isn't a bit better
How you able to take 4k video at iphone 11 front facing camera with just 7mp??????
It's 12mp btw
Night fotos on pixel is better because you can see highest dynamic range in windows, clearer sky and other details
NOtification, but great comparison! Cheers
I like the NOtification :D
@@RedskullPro But they did manage to put ads in all of your freely provided content.
which country from u bro??
Pixel does better in daylight photos, portrait and front facing camera. iPhone wins night mode and crushes the video.
I'm a lifelong android user but will be switching to apple in order to get the 12 pro max. I think that device will blow the competition out of the water for the forseeable in terms of video and very possibly photo quality. Looking forward to you review of that in November Alex!
Think the same, although I'll wait until Apple releases a notchless phone with hopefully usb type-c. Looking to camera comparison in November for sure
@@bennymarty6972 have to say the notch doesn't bother me so much. Its worth it to have apples face ID hardware that is out of this world.
I want the 12 Pro Max as well...but I don't want to spend so much money on it... So I decided to only get the regular iPhone 12 :)
Google pixel did better in many aspects, saying that the iPhone did better in almost everything is at least silly to say
The thing is… everyone is entitled to their opinion :) what I like may not be what you like… and that’s why you have many pictures side by side so you can come up with your own thoughts 😇
iPhone wins overall (slight loss in pictures; big win in video), and this is a year old phone. Impressive.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with everyone and thanks for watching!
@@RedskullPro thanks for making the comparison! You're the best!
You did a wonderful job without bias! Pixel 5 improved compared to pixel 4, especially video recording.
Yeah, the video quality was the weakest part of the pixel 4. I was however expecting better for the low light capabilities on the ultra wide camera on the pixel...seems like a missed opportunity
There's no doubt pixel 5 much better for me but right now iphone 11 even cheaper than pixel 5 and apple bionic a13 still flawless
The Pixel 5 isn't as wide as others, better use photosphere for wider pics on the Pixel 5. To be honest, I am really disappointed by Pixel 5, as Google is using the same old h/w on their Pixel devices from the last four generations, now according to me, the iPhone 12 pro max will be the new camera king as it has the new sensor-shift image stabilization with TOF 3D LiDAR scanner. I think Google doesn't care about their Pixel devices anymore and it's high time for Google to upgrade their camera h/w...
The only one thing I can think about watching this video is how the pixel 4a 5g crashing iphone 11
1.5g
2.betera camera in low light and most overall
3.led screen with better resolution
4. Bigger battery
5.chiper price
Well dan google
I love iphone than pixel , because iPhone beautifying the pictures (this is only my opinion🤗)
While pixel 5 is better in photography in every aspect but don,t forget the huge difference in night time photography with astrophotography mode
True, iPhone can't do that
In which aspect? worse hdr, gray and dull colors, less detail (especially in video )
@@mraleks9473 you need to watch the video first to know those aspects.
Please Pixel 5 v Xperia 5ii camera comparrison
Don't have that phone... honestly I haven't tried a Sony phone in like 5 years
at the end of the day, if you are going to buy your phone based upon a camera then that's stupid. at the end.... both cameras are above an A grade. It's like seeing which one is the A++++ to make the final decision.
A phone should be based upon it's abilities.
example would be like a Samsung which has
Expandable storage of up to 1 TB
Better CPU (fun fact Pixel 4 CPU is better than Pixel 5)
120 refresh screen
Magnetic Swipe Technology and NFC
Secure Folder
DeX
reverse wireless charging (pixel just got this)
larger display
.... google still uses a sensor based upon the pixel 2.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with everyone!
I like white balance on iphone 11 more, but Pixel 5 is better in selfies, low light.
Thanks for watching!
iPhone 11 crushes Pixel 5 in Video quality tbh , the video on Pixel looks so blury and not clear even at 4k30fps and 4k60fps , for camera pics they are fairly similar , its a matter of choice and what people prefer ...
100%
Iphone 11 - saturated
pixel 5 - natural..
This actually hurts me to say... but if I was to echo truth, it would ring out, the iPhone just looks better and more natural in almost all video... and this is coming from someone who already owned an iPhone 11 from release date and bought the Pixel 5 today... as far as video goes, the iPhone is just better
