I chose pixel 5 most of the times. I think you guys didn't because it was a little darker but you can fix that later. Pixel 5 had more detail and accurate colors almost every time. This is what MKBHD showed on his camera comparison: most people tend to go for the brighter even though it's not actually better. Also, at 8:55 for example, the pixel is a lot better but we tend to like more warmer pics. You can edit that temperature and get a far better pic.
Coz they want the photos that look more beautiful than the reality 😂🤣 like the iPhone says they don't filter or beautification but people actually look better than in real life on iPhone
It was really hard to pick with all this 3 phones. They have specific specialties for each of them. I think Pixel 5 has very detailed and natural looking photos, iPhone 12 has great stabilization on video and amazing for portrait shots while S20 is great with landscape and night shots. Here are my scores Pixel 5: 11 S20: 9 Iphone 12: 4
I love these sort of comparisons. I had iPhone -10, Samsung-9, Pixel-4. Even though the iPhone technically won, they had some shots that really looked like crap so it's not like it blew away the competition.
It's interesting that iPhone and Pixel still haven't figured out the blown out highlights in night mode. Also interesting is how the Pixel usually seems to deal with flaring well whereas other phones still have it
Some are praising Pixel 5 is due to the camera app. That app is the main hero of photography, but since Pixel 5's camera tech is too old. So, it can't keep the pace with the competition. And also the chip is not flagship one. Which is a bummer considering rest are having the best chips. Meanwhile, I like both S20 FE and iPhone 12!!👍👍 I'd choose iPhone for overall shots and FE for night shots
I would've liked a phone with the S20 FE capabilities with the more natural tone of the Pixel 5. They basically tied for me with the iPhone 12 scoring just 3 points 🤔
Great video. Amazing how far these cameras have come from Samsung and Apple. The FE is on sale for $599 right now which makes its a great value. Thanks for the excellent work

Sure, the Samsung camera looks great, and is sharper and has less noise at night. iPhone is still good, and daytime pictures look great. As a complete package of camera + CPU + GPU + OS I still like the iPhone the best. But can't go wrong with Samsung if you like Android.

I guess I’m one of the few who liked more most of the pixel 5 photos! Honestly this warm tint on iPhone and s20 isn’t very nice (looks like the photos were edited). I think pixel 5 has great night shots and iPhone 12 better details.
Not at all, when you look into the comments there are many people who have the pixel much higher (me included). I for example had: Pixel 5: 9 iPhone 12: 7 Galaxy FE: 7 (although the iPhone was better than the FE because it was better in a wide range of photos for me and the FE just in very specific fotos)
I use Pixel 4 and boy it's a fantastic cam. I can confirm that portraits look incredible and it's a very small compact phone that will last at least 5 years
I arranged them, so they all got 1,2 or 3 points. So golf score, lower is better. (minimum 23 points). S20 FE 39 points Iphone 12 44 points Pixel 5 49 points. So for me the S20 FE is the winner. And even more important, S20 FE also won all the night shots. There is less difference in daylight shots, so hard shots counts more imho. I would also take away the video shots, keep them separate or something. It was hard to judge them this way. Fun video, i like it.
Only one thing is killing it and that's your vids! On the phones this really highlights to me how iPhone and Samsung have really gotten much closer in their software processing. Also like an MKBHD blind poll last year, people do like brightness and colour over the Pixel which sometimes to just too dark. For future tests how about introducing a but more weighting to the votes? Eg is two pics are about the same give them both 3 points and if the other is much worse give it 1 or zero. That way if all phones are about the same it'll come through in the scores.
Every night shorts from s20 fe are amazing !! Didn't expected that. Although ip 12 did great on day light. But apple, they were promoting that low night shot should be much better .dont know what happened
I always know the iphone pics. They're simply naturally edited. Saturation high, low contrast, high shadows. You can easily achieve the iphone look with picture editing. Also it makes skin look pink, and it makes brown eyes look light brown. And in real life brown looks dark brown. They almost look black, they never look like in the embellished pics of iphone.
What ? Dude the IPhone uses deep fusion in all its shots. That's why it usually had better details in daylight and also uses Smart HDR to reduce the overblowing of shot when faced directly at the sun
Georgette Okeke Nope, the Iphone doesn’t use Deep Fusion in any of These shots. It only kicks in medium to lower light. Look how much of a difference it makes: m.ruclips.net/video/jiNUWb1w5vc/видео.html
iPhone: 2 S20 FE: 7 Pixel 5: 14 I gotta say that I'm surprised at some of the choices you guys made for the photos, but in the end, it's a personal preference! Great Video as well.
The high megapixel is used for binning, so it averages the group of pixels in an array and you end with an image of similar resolution. Basically it’s like do you use one large pixel like the iPhone, or use 9 small ones and take their average like on the Samsung.
@@metanoialabs7037 True - but even so, I assume it compresses it to a 12MP file, which would be the same as the iPhone. So it has either no impact - or a negative impact - on sharpness. At least in the form that Samsung implements it. On the other hand, its purpose might be to make it better in low light. In the DSLR world, however, lower megapixel cameras tend to do better in low light (the A7S line, for example, compared to the A7R). Maybe things are different on phones, though.
You need to remember your RUclips video would have downsampled the picture. You'll need to blow up the picture to see which is more detailed. Having used a OnePlus 6, 16 mpx camera, you can see it was higher resolution than an iPhone 8Plus.
When you have 5mp, 12mpx or 48mpx, pictures, they all look even in your view finder. Open the pictures to 100% and compare the same object, there is a 95% chance you'll have more details on the 48mpx.
Great video! I'm unsure about the mic setup, but the video would be even better if her mic levels where closer to yours. Makes it much easier to understand everyone without high volumes. Maybe get the mic to be closer to her next time?
Unbiased= taking great photos that actually capture memories in a beautiful way that shows everything and everyone in the shot. Sorry we want more detail Dame
Kinda agree with you. Especially the photo of a brown poodle with the little girl. There’s so much more detail on the darker one plus colour is probably more realistic, but then it all goes down to preference.
iPhone brightens everything up and makes people look yellow Samsung smooths everything out The only camera that looks real to life to me is The Pixel in Stills it's not even close...But l can tell by the few camera comparisons that you guys do I'm pretty sure you all own iphones which there great phones But definitely not true to life. For example the picture of the dog the pixel l know without even seeing the Dog in real life is the true color the iphone and Samsung get the colors wrong all the time not to mention they always boost the blue in the sky to an unnatural blue..But l agree some of the pics look better sometimes on the other devices just not true to life!

@@futureyou6496 are you sure your display is calibrated at least somewhat correctly, because only the right one in the first shot was very yellow...? 🙃
The thing that stuns me with these videos is that they always go for the most pleasing pictures in terms of saturation. Not with the correctness of said colour palette. Camera's that pick oversaturation for you and don't allow you to take normal pictures should be on the bottom scoring part.
6:21 the picture of the tree the middle one was obviously the best. Take a little more time looking at the detail. It didn't blurr out a single leaf. Thats wild.
i picked the middle one as well, i feel like it is important to evaluate how hard the shot is for each phone and what it did right and in this shot it is very hard not to mess up the blur.
This video made me pick up the S20 FE. I paid less than half the price I would have paid for the iPhone 12, and got twice the storage and a 120 Hz screen in return. I sometimes miss the smaller form factor and some features of iOS, but overall it was a great buy ;) My score was: S20 FE 10, iPhone 9, Pixel 4.
In this comparison I had it S20 -11, Pixel-8, and Iphone-4. My only gripe with camera comparisons from this channel is they seem to get away from the purpose of the photo on occasion. If I take a picture of my kid then they are the subject and the other things are secondary (not all the time but on occasion) they get caught up on things that are not the subject. That's fine when the subject is close but not when the fringe items take over the purpose of the picture.
The most important question is, what's your daily driver? Cause you're likely to prefer photos taken by that device. It's easy to spot which photos were taken by which device.
A €200,- Samsung A50. The camera isn't anything to write home about, but you can't argue about it when you get an awesome display & usable specs for daily phone stuff at that price 😆
The pixel Is the king of stills because it’s natural even if it’s dark and contrasting, that’s what it is ...The others are artificially brightened. Depends on personal preference.seems people like artificial. I don’t.
Totally agree. Some of the selfie shots looked to have a soft skin filter. Colors were oversaturated or had a yellow cast. They complained about the 5 looking dull, but it was way more true to the scene and it's a bigger issue of processing than the actual camera. A true test would be taking all of these in Raw form and using the same post processing.
I like pixel 5 photos because it produces natural colours u can add and saturate them but hu can't add saturated to natural so i like pixel 5 photos more
Really? @11:26 the picture on the right has way more detail. Also it's the only picture where you can actually see the stars. Even though it's a "blind test," guessing the photos based on the general style of each phone was obvious. Pixel tends to take pictures with more natural colors. Plus the photos tend to be more cropped. The iPhone uses warmer tones to make the colors pop and add more contrast. Samsung is in you middle. Good video though.

@@jiroshia1375 That's why most influencers use iPhones. They look so much better in their pics than in real life.
s20 FE = 9
IP 12 = 7
Pix5 = 7
Im honestly amazed with the s20 FE, i was quite biased with the other two since most reviews always put them toe to toe
It was really hard to pick with all this 3 phones. They have specific specialties for each of them. I think Pixel 5 has very detailed and natural looking photos, iPhone 12 has great stabilization on video and amazing for portrait shots while S20 is great with landscape and night shots. Here are my scores
Pixel 5: 11
S20: 9
Iphone 12: 4
Your sister is adorable
Simp
naHoryzoncie he just complimented her
I love these sort of comparisons. I had iPhone -10, Samsung-9, Pixel-4. Even though the iPhone technically won, they had some shots that really looked like crap so it's not like it blew away the competition.
It's interesting that iPhone and Pixel still haven't figured out the blown out highlights in night mode.
Also interesting is how the Pixel usually seems to deal with flaring well whereas other phones still have it
The first video I wait for after any apple product release is from you guys. Your thorough comparisons and tests are really helpful.
Thank you!
They are apple ad guys
Some are praising Pixel 5 is due to the camera app. That app is the main hero of photography, but since Pixel 5's camera tech is too old. So, it can't keep the pace with the competition. And also the chip is not flagship one. Which is a bummer considering rest are having the best chips.
Meanwhile, I like both S20 FE and iPhone 12!!👍👍
I'd choose iPhone for overall shots and FE for night shots
Watch this video on bigger screen and you will end up choosing most of the pics from S20Fe
What screen are you using?
@@blinblinthing I was watching on my 43 inch 4k TV
@@gladiatormaximus7105 I'll try again using my 40" 1080 and see if my opinion changes from Pixel 5.
I would've liked a phone with the S20 FE capabilities with the more natural tone of the Pixel 5. They basically tied for me with the iPhone 12 scoring just 3 points 🤔
@@MLWJ1993 turn off scene optimiser, trust me it makes the colours ALOT more natural.
Pixel 5: 3 points
iPhone 12: 10 points
S20 FE: 10 points
Give me the camera with the best natural looking photos..... Warm and oversaturation is not my taste. Ill leave it at that
So pixel?
you can just change saturation...
Great video. Amazing how far these cameras have come from Samsung and Apple. The FE is on sale for $599 right now which makes its a great value. Thanks for the excellent work
First video: pixel 5 has clearly the most details... the iphone just looks soft and flat
love how the pixel 5 did worse against its own price range than the higher one
Oh my God nice camera comparison! Do this again on other videos especially on Iphone 12 pro max💓💓
Let this be a testament to how hard it is to tell phone cameras apart these days (at least in most lighting conditions)
I got a iPhone 12 because I want to continue using my Apple Watch, but trying to see it objectively I think that the S20 FE is the phone of the year so far.
Sure, the Samsung camera looks great, and is sharper and has less noise at night. iPhone is still good, and daytime pictures look great. As a complete package of camera + CPU + GPU + OS I still like the iPhone the best. But can't go wrong with Samsung if you like Android.
Yep I am using thr s20fe complete package! ❤
@@genx-tv exactly ! It really comes down to OS preference as both are great phones all around.
@@cmaysautoyt yep and geeky tech stuff lol. All the pixels and customization the 120 hz display on the s20 fe. But yeah basically it's just preference with OS.
Just the thing I wanted to see from Max Tech. Iphone 12 blows everything at that price. Nice job Guyz👍👍
everything thing including charger and headphone...!!

Doesn’t blow the p40 out the water
@@steve9348 p40 is dead, cant even buy it in usa and apps and user experience is not good anymore..
@@Randomdude21-e BRO, THATS IN THE USA, PPL AROUND THE WORLD ARE STILL BUYING IT, XDA DEVELOPERS RELEASED AN APP THAT RELEASES A SAFE VERSION OF GMS ON UR PHONE, LIKE IM IN AUSTRALIA AND THATS WHAT MOST PPL HAVE DONE INCLUDING ME. ALSO, LOWERCASE IS BROKEN ON MY LPATOPS CUZ SOME WATER FELL.
I for example had:
Pixel 5: 9
iPhone 12: 7
Galaxy FE: 7 (although the iPhone was better than the FE because it was better in a wide range of photos for me and the FE just in very specific fotos)
I use Pixel 4 and boy it's a fantastic cam. I can confirm that portraits look incredible and it's a very small compact phone that will last at least 5 years
I arranged them, so they all got 1,2 or 3 points. So golf score, lower is better. (minimum 23 points).
S20 FE 39 points
Iphone 12 44 points
Pixel 5 49 points.
Bigger sensors on the FE capture more light :)
I can imagine when Max and her sister edit their picture: light up the shadow and dim the highlight -> 100%.
They: "This picture is perfect"
I always know the iphone pics. They're simply naturally edited. Saturation high, low contrast, high shadows. You can easily achieve the iphone look with picture editing. Also it makes skin look pink, and it makes brown eyes look light brown. And in real life brown looks dark brown. They almost look black, they never look like in the embellished pics of iphone.
S20FE has premium grade cameras! I was very satisfied. For its price, it simply rocks! Changed it for S22Ultra, to have a 10x zoom.
Iphone 12 for sure. Overall it smoked them *without* Deep Fusion in the photo section and videos, well, no comparison in both day time and night time.
Look how much of a difference it makes: m.ruclips.net/video/jiNUWb1w5vc/видео.html
iPhone: 2
S20 FE: 7
Pixel 5: 14
I gotta say that I'm surprised at some of the choices you guys made for the photos, but in the end, it's a personal preference! Great Video as well.
Always look forward to the videos on this channel.
Pixel - 10
iPhone - 8
S20 - 5
I really don't like samsung's look... hahahaha I like more natural and balanced look
I love how he involves all his family members to his youtube videos ♥️
Sometimes smart HDR in iphone looks really unrealistic...
Pixel: 10
Samsung: 8
iPhone: 5
1:39 Wow, that _really_ goes to show how those high megapixel counts are complete BS - just there to sound flashy.
@@blinblinthing They zoomed in, and it visibly had less detail than the iPhone's.
Great video! I'm unsure about the mic setup, but the video would be even better if her mic levels where closer to yours. Makes it much easier to understand everyone without high volumes. Maybe get the mic to be closer to her next time?
unbiased = brighter+warmer
Unbiased= taking great photos that actually capture memories in a beautiful way that shows everything and everyone in the shot. Sorry we want more detail Dame
Before showing these photo for vote... Show the actual senerio..
So that we can assess the image quality properly
You could be biased on the 'actual scenario' shots too based on the colour and the tone. I think this simple comparison is good enough though.
Me going to mark the right one
"I'll go with the left"
Okay me too
LOOL
I got 8 - 7 - 7 (I didn't vote for the blurry tree one cause they all looked equally bad)
iPhone got a single extra point
The iPhone 12 is 2x the price of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE here in the Philippines btw. 😬
hm is FE here in Philippines?
Yeah, I have seen the pricing. But its not from an authorized reseller, so the price isn’t official in the Philippines.
And yet he still call the iPhone 12 a midrange phone lol.
When someone picks the more bright photo over the most detailed one ... beeh. You guys having few lame picks there
Kinda agree with you.
Does no one else find his face at 3:16 on the iPhone is horrible? Iphone always smooths out features and has auto beauty mode which I just find makes faces look artificial and less human. Am I crazy or do y'all see what I mean?
Breakdown of this POOR REVIEW : Sunset is never yellow. ITS ORANGE THAT'S WHAT PIXEL AND IPHONE ARE SHOWING
Pixel5 is the one that shows yellow sunset.
Pixel 5, iphone 12, s20 fe
@@futureyou6496 are you sure your display is calibrated at least somewhat correctly, because only the right one in the first shot was very yellow...? 🙃
@@MLWJ1993 Indeed. Pixel showed detail in the trees in the distance and a more likely accurate colour.

Wow never been so early
Max and Vadim I Love these type of videos
Thx for your effort ok gonna watch the rest of the video........
Glad you like them!
The thing that stuns me with these videos is that they always go for the most pleasing pictures in terms of saturation. Not with the correctness of said colour palette. Camera's that pick oversaturation for you and don't allow you to take normal pictures should be on the bottom scoring part.
It's maybe unbiased.. but you prioritise your personal preference more. What you like and what you don't..
I was pleasantly surprised to see so many nice shots on Samsung S20 FE. Great job Samsung, you've really put a lot of effort in this device!
6:21 the picture of the tree the middle one was obviously the best. Take a little more time looking at the detail. It didn't blurr out a single leaf. Thats wild.
Yeah, that's why I picked that one as well.
i picked the middle one as well, i feel like it is important to evaluate how hard the shot is for each phone and what it did right and in this shot it is very hard not to mess up the blur.
This video made me pick up the S20 FE. I paid less than half the price I would have paid for the iPhone 12, and got twice the storage and a 120 Hz screen in return. I sometimes miss the smaller form factor and some features of iOS, but overall it was a great buy ;)
My score was:
S20 FE 10, iPhone 9, Pixel 4.
Will angelika do some reviews on her own in the future? I feel like she'd kill it, and add another perspective to future product reviews!
Lol
Pixel 5: 10
S20 FE: 10
iPhone 12: 3
🤔
The most important question is, what's your daily driver? Cause you're likely to prefer photos taken by that device. It's easy to spot which photos were taken by which device.
A €200,- Samsung A50. The camera isn't anything to write home about, but you can't argue about it when you get an awesome display & usable specs for daily phone stuff at that price 😆
He don't seem happy when s20fe gets a point
IDK man y'all just misunderstanding photography and color preference, Yellowish tune isn't photography, Too Bad
I got
14 for the iPhone 12
6 for S20FE
3 for the pixel 5
🤣
I only got 2 for the pixel lmao
The pixel Is the king of stills because it’s natural even if it’s dark and contrasting, that’s what it is ...The others are artificially brightened. Depends on personal preference.seems people like artificial. I don’t.
Totally agree. Some of the selfie shots looked to have a soft skin filter. Colors were oversaturated or had a yellow cast. They complained about the 5 looking dull, but it was way more true to the scene and it's a bigger issue of processing than the actual camera. A true test would be taking all of these in Raw form and using the same post processing.
I like pixel 5 photos because it produces natural colours u can add and saturate them but hu can't add saturated to natural so i like pixel 5 photos more
iPhone 12: 12 points 👀 S20FE: 5 and Pixel: 4
Idk but I chose pixel in most pictures
s20 - 15 , pixel - 5 , iphone - 3
At first I couldn't tell Max and Vadim apart, but now that Vadim grew his hair it's a lot easier.
For some reason I pick Pixel 5, maybe the quality when uploaded to youtube is different? Or maybe because I'm using a Pixel phone? Hahaha
Your choice and my choice differs because I like the detailed photos just like pixel 5 not the make up ish looks of iphone 12 and s20 fe.
Is her only criticism "The detail is crushed"? I swear she said that a hundred times.
I guess Angelika likes shadow details ;)
*The way she explains it is just* 🔥
In my opinion,
iPhone 11- 7 points
S20 FE- 11 points
Pixel 5- 5 points
My scores were way different than yours 😂 Idk how y'all thought the iPhone was killing it when my scores were (Some of them I gave ties so that's why the total is greater):
FE: 13
iPhone: 3
Pixel: 12
I love this freaking phone, got rid of my Note 20 Ultra for this phone and it was definitely worth it! This just works flawlessly, battery life is awesome, size I thought was too small at first, but actually seems perfect! Thought the processor might not be enough, seems faster than my note though?! Wtf?! How can it be? SOFTWARE! Nothing comes close to clean, crisp, and user friendly stock Android! I'll never leave the Pixel line again. My pixel 4 took better photos than my note!!!
I had pixel way ahead of the others...you get what you see. No brightening, no smoothing, if it has shadows so be it.
Pixel 5: 11

My company cell phone is an iphone 12 and I am very satisfied. Personally, I have the Samsung S20.
But I am not at all happy with the photos of the S20 and then took the iPhone in my free time.Don't tell my boss that :)
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to test the Pixel 4a5G (same camera as the Pixel 5) from a friend and was delighted with the photos.
The S20 never convinced me in your test here either.
So I'll get the Pixel 5 or maybe even the 4a5g soon and sell my S20.
