Just got a 2024 RDX A-Spec with ELS 16-speaker 3D and, TBH, am disappointed with the lack of (sub) bass so far. Not sure how to enhance this (bass setting is at Max) - maybe reduce treble / mid ? centre / overhead speakers ?
No 5.1 files to enjoy? This car has discrete surround playback. dts Neural would be unavailable while listening to 5.1 because it's real surround sound. Dolby Atmos won't playback on this system and is lossy, try and find some 24/96 5.1 FLACs and load them on a USB and hear what this system is really capable of.
Not sure what the hype is all about this ELS system. I listened to 3 different TLX models (USB w/iPod) with it and was not impressed. You have to crank it up loud to get a decent sound out of it.
Yeah I believed all the ELS hype until I finally tested it out in the 2022 Tlx advance trim. I totally agree with you. You have to put the volume up at least halfway to get some good volume and fullness out of the system. I heard people rave about the clarity, and while it's good, it's not out of this world like some people made it out to be. I expected more from the dts surround. I'm used to a 360-degree surround, whereas the tlx is more of a 180-degree surround. The tracks I tested were all Tidal Master quality. It's a good system, but definitely not the best under 100k
@@kyron2092 Tidal Master quality isn't surround sound though, why wouldn't you test it with actual surround like any number of 5.1 24/96 FLAC files you can grab off the web? This system supports discrete 5.1 playback so is definitely suited to surroundheads like me that will almost never listen to plain old stereo upmixed
@dobyblue73 I have flac files downloaded to a digital audio player as well. Even with 5.1 files, I still wasn't satisfied with Acura's surround. It just isn't as immersive as Quantum Logic Surround was in my Optima. The tlx doesn't have as much background information behind the front seats. Another thing I don't care for with ELS is that the sound isn't as thick as I'd like. Don't get me wrong, ELS takes you out of the car and into the studio like no other car can, while QLS takes you out of the car and into another land. I simply prefer the latter.
I agree - the sound system is pretty amazing in the TLX. I think Acura is switching to Bang and olufsen for future models.

I have the type s. It sounds good but there is no sub adjustment. The doors have strong bass up front. But the rear deck subs are so weak….
Agree - I enjoy deep bass tones and was expecting more in my new A-Spec (see above)

Are you using apple car play or Bluetooth? Is neural 3D on or off? Where is your balance set to front or rear of car?

When you were using that iPod, was it recorded from 8tracks?

It ok, the Bose system in my Silverado is better
