You know what, I'm kind of tired of the hatred towards illumination in general by the animation community. They make perfectly fine movies, sure they're not artistic masterpieces or anything, but do they have to be? They're entertaining for what they are, and they don't pretend to be anything more than that.

I love the memes coming out of this movie and hearing the stories of people having a once-in-a-lifetime experience in a theater full of people wearing suits. Despite this though, I’m afraid that Hollywood is gonna take this the wrong way. I mean the Oscars already consider all animated movies to be “just for kids”, and despite that being a terrible take, the fact that Minions 2 is now one of the top-grossing animated movies of the year is kinda proving their point

Minions: The Rise of Gru is certainly one of the movies ever made. The scene where Gru said “It is time for rise of Gru!” really hit me on an spiritual level.
I think its just me but i really liked the villian girl's hair and scarf, example: 4:46 LIKE HER SCARF LOOKS SO REAL, AND HER HAIR IS REALLY NICE TO. That girls hair and scarf is my favourite part in the whole movie. I dont even know if they made a design like it before,idk i havent really watched much of their movies. But i think they did something different with the designs in the movie, idk thats just what i think-
When Gru said "Maybe the true rise were the minions we Gru'd along the way", I cried tears of joy. I don't have words to explain how much of a masterpiece this movie is, still can't believe it even surpassed Morbius!
I honestly love kid gru. I would actually like to see a miniseries about his escapades with the minions. I also liked Otto and I think his ride to San Francisco with that kids uncle and his bond with him was pretty cute
This movie could’ve been worse, had the Pandemic not delayed this film. According to some sources, the film was only 50% finished. It could’ve been the Sonic 06 of Illumination. Thankfully, they took their sweet time to work out the kinks and finally finish the film.

the thing is, i liked this movie. i had a good time and thought there were good moments, but i am disappointed. ik i shouldn’t be, because this is illumination, but i am, because i see a fantastic movie on par with despicable me 1 and 2 deep inside the one we got. they start this honestly great character arc for gru where he realizes that he can be a great villain he just has to put trust in others, but it goes nowhere. it’s frustrating bc i feel in some aspects the writers and directors really tried with this movie, but they didn’t at the same time. again, i liked this movie. it was honestly halarious and a good time, but it could’ve been better and there’s proof of that.
I can give this movie some credit for actually being an origin story for How The Minions met Gru, instead of some Generic Female Villain who no one has heard of before.
People talking how bad the studio is but not how their visuals improved from the first movie and gotten better when either the 2nd DM movie came out or the Lorax in my opinion. But i thought this movie was fun a big improvement from the first movie (and especially when we saw gru gruin around no pun attended) Gru was Gru, Minions being well Minions but with a king fu style, Soundtrack was a banger than those god forsaken cringe worthy k pop songs in movie nowadays especially in dance parties at the end, The title made sense since Gru did in fact rised from heaven, The character relationship between Gru and the old Vicious 6 villain was nice like father and son, and the references to the first DM movie was gold. Gru out of 10. Cinematic Grusterpiece.

Minions: The Rise of Gru film review My favourite film of the year - Minions: The Rise of Gru To most people, this might just be the generic kids movie, but to me and some people, this means so much more. When I saw the first few minutes of the film, I was instantly hooked and a flurry of emotions entered my mind. Some emotions in which I have never felt before. Watching Minions: The Rise of Gru was the life changing experience that I needed. After watching Minions: The Rise of Gru, I instantly became the most successful person in the world, being the richest person in the world and also the most popular person in the world. However, this critique isn't only about me. It's about the people too. Throughout this film, the people watching the masterpiece alongside with me loved the film too. They were instantly hooked in the opening scene when Gru gave a monologue while gruing all over the street thugs. The audience was loving the film until one turning point in the climax of the movie when he said the simple but insightful phrase "This is going to get grusome". I cannot use words to describe the emotions and sensations that the audience and I felt. All of us cheered and screamed but was instantly brought back to silence as the tension built up and Gru got heavily injured. However, he grued all over the bad guys and when he defeated the main antagonist of the film, he said, one last time, "You just got grued" What a cinematic masterpiece. It filled the audience and I with so many feelings and I was left craving for more. I watched Minions: The Rise of Gru every day of the week afterwards, not regretting ANY of my decisions. I will not let anyone tell me how they thought that Minions: The Rise of Gru was a bad film because they are just wrong and highly incorrect. To all of the unfortunate souls who haven't watched Minions: The Rise of Gru yet, just know that you will forever regret not watching such a piece of art. You have missed out on so much and you will not be truly enlightened until you buy the Blu-ray version and experience it. I am truly sorry for those who haven't watched the greatest film of all time. Truly.
my older bro gave me a beer before watching (im 16 form the US so im not used to alcohol) so watching it was like an experience for me. Im glad my first time ever getting tipsy was watching this amazing movie, shoutout to my brother.
Not going to lie, I loved it for a kids movie!!! So many references to past films, this movie was good for a Despecible Me Movie!!! Vector was referenced along with the bank of evil, nefario, the moon, The guys who stop villians, the scarlet overkill lunchbox!!!! Good stuff. It was funny too! Enjoyed this a lot more than Thor Love and Thunder not going to lie! It was a heart-warming film. So wholesome. I don't know what people have against Illumination, but this was great.

I did have one form of optimism with this film is that it'll work more as a prequel thanks to Gru...mostly. I still don't think we need the origin story of Gru's villainy since his cruel mother feels like enough.

I really hope for Despicable Me 4, they make it this really deep and emotional journey about Gru’s journey for Bobux and they end up bringing all the old villains working for one bobux master who wants to destroy every copy of morbius in existence.

But i thought this movie was fun a big improvement from the first movie (and especially when we saw gru gruin around no pun attended) Gru was Gru, Minions being well Minions but with a king fu style, Soundtrack was a banger than those god forsaken cringe worthy k pop songs in movie nowadays especially in dance parties at the end, The title made sense since Gru did in fact rised from heaven, The character relationship between Gru and the old Vicious 6 villain was nice like father and son, and the references to the first DM movie was gold. Gru out of 10. Cinematic Grusterpiece.

My favourite film of the year - Minions: The Rise of Gru
To most people, this might just be the generic kids movie, but to me and some people, this means so much more. When I saw the first few minutes of the film, I was instantly hooked and a flurry of emotions entered my mind. Some emotions in which I have never felt before. Watching Minions: The Rise of Gru was the life changing experience that I needed. After watching Minions: The Rise of Gru, I instantly became the most successful person in the world, being the richest person in the world and also the most popular person in the world.
However, this critique isn't only about me. It's about the people too. Throughout this film, the people watching the masterpiece alongside with me loved the film too. They were instantly hooked in the opening scene when Gru gave a monologue while gruing all over the street thugs. The audience was loving the film until one turning point in the climax of the movie when he said the simple but insightful phrase "This is going to get grusome".
I cannot use words to describe the emotions and sensations that the audience and I felt. All of us cheered and screamed but was instantly brought back to silence as the tension built up and Gru got heavily injured. However, he grued all over the bad guys and when he defeated the main antagonist of the film, he said, one last time, "You just got grued"
What a cinematic masterpiece. It filled the audience and I with so many feelings and I was left craving for more. I watched Minions: The Rise of Gru every day of the week afterwards, not regretting ANY of my decisions. I will not let anyone tell me how they thought that Minions: The Rise of Gru was a bad film because they are just wrong and highly incorrect.
To all of the unfortunate souls who haven't watched Minions: The Rise of Gru yet, just know that you will forever regret not watching such a piece of art. You have missed out on so much and you will not be truly enlightened until you buy the Blu-ray version and experience it. I am truly sorry for those who haven't watched the greatest film of all time. Truly.

Not going to lie, I loved it for a kids movie!!! So many references to past films, this movie was good for a Despecible Me Movie!!! Vector was referenced along with the bank of evil, nefario, the moon, The guys who stop villians, the scarlet overkill lunchbox!!!! Good stuff. It was funny too! Enjoyed this a lot more than Thor Love and Thunder not going to lie! It was a heart-warming film. So wholesome. I don't know what people have against Illumination, but this was great.
