I hear the drizzle of the rain Like a memory it falls Soft and warm Continually Tapping on my roof in the morn And from the shelter of my mind Through the window of my eyes I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets To England where my heart lies My mind's distracted and diffused My thoughts are many miles away They lie with you when you're asleep And kiss you when you start the day And the song I was writing was left undone I don't know why I spend my time Writing songs I can't believe With words that tear and strain your mind And so you see I've come to doubt All that I once held as true I stand alone without beliefs The only truth I know is you And as I watch the drops of rain Leave their weary pats and die I know that I am like the rain There but for grace of you go I
It's funny. I recognized the song with the very first few notes and then was surprised to hear voices I didn't know. It is a great and beautiful cover. Almost sounds as it was meant to be.
17/04/2024: "And now it dawns. Drearily light oozes down over this damp jail." to look, fearlessly, through the rain's gaping sluices and to step through, hands in pockets, with a grin wide as the horizon "For within one of these bill-shouting houses, happiness awaits you, happiness, if you can only gulp down your impatience- and here there is sleeping a buxom young girl with one ear lost in her hair; she will come to encounter you some fine day on the street, like a wave of fragrance, looking as though she knew you."
Heard it in the background of the Rookie. Lovely song.❤
Wonderful version of a great Paul Simon song written for Kathy from England. Great voices
These girls bring tears to my eyes but joy to my soul.
I'd suggest checking out The Wailing Jenny's, if you like this duo. Wonderful harmonies from fantastic women.(both groups)
The best cover I've heard.
I hear the drizzle of the rain
Like a memory it falls
Soft and warm
Continually
Tapping on my roof in the morn
And from the shelter of my mind
Through the window of my eyes
I gaze beyond the rain-drenched streets
To England where my heart lies
My mind's distracted and diffused
My thoughts are many miles away
They lie with you when you're asleep
And kiss you when you start the day
And the song I was writing was left undone
I don't know why I spend my time
Writing songs I can't believe
With words that tear and strain your mind
And so you see I've come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you
And as I watch the drops of rain
Leave their weary pats and die
I know that I am like the rain
There but for grace of you go I
"strain to rhyme"
Such beautiful harmonies!
one of the best cover for sure
From 'The Rookie' last night :-)

Art at its very best
Who doesn't like this? Why care to not like... odd
Absolutely beautiful!
My mind's distracted and diffused, my thoughts are many miles away. They lie with you when you're asleep and kiss you when you start your day.
Some of the best lyrics and such a haunting melody. One of the few songs other than movie themes that one can add new memories to.
GREAT SOUND AND SONG.
Love it
I love the way they do it.
