I saw Brandi Carlile and The Secret Sisters live last night (they opened for her, but I had never heard of them before) and these are the remarks one of the sisters made before playing this song. It was something along the lines of: "This next song is the one from its album that our record label really pushed to be the "radio song," the song they would try to get played on actual radio stations. And it did actually get picked up by several stations, including one station in Nashville, Tennessee that happens to be the favorite radio station of the butthole that this song is about. So I like to imagine him driving down the road, listening to his favorite radio station, and suddenly hearing this song come on. And the song is somewhat specific, so I'm quite confident that if he does hear it, he'll know exactly who sings it and who it's about." And with that she went right into the song which begins "Davie White..." and the entire audience burst out laughing. I certainly like to believe that the person it's about really is named Davie White.
So, Laura & Lydia, He's Fine is an exceptionally wonderful tune. I live in Nashville, and would be very interested in knowing which radio station your song is being played on. I don't tune in to the country stations...that may be why? Is there an Americana station I am unaware of? Thanks!!
Those beautiful Everly Brothers harmonies! When I was a teen, I usta add the top third to songs on the radio. Now my two daughters and I do three part vids on FaceBook...and these Secret Sisters are wonderful!
this song was playing on wxpn my local member supported radio station in philly. i'm a unmarried gay dude with no connections to this story but by the 3rd hearing when the harmonies go up near the end and then the final repeat of the chorus i felt punched in the gut. and just now as i let the stinging in my eyes become tears i realize this is gonna be one of those songs that make me cry each time i hear it. i joined the station yesterday
To this day, I cannot listen to this song without getting chills or tearing up. Look at the reactions of the folks in the control room in the video... that's how I feel every time I hear this amazing song, and these amazing women.
I am so glad Brandi Carlile was a fan and kept the sisters doing music. I took my musical teen daughter to hear them in a small venue in Portland, Oregon a couple of years ago. She loved their sound and their take-no-shit attitude. We have tickets to enjoy them as musical moms this spring. They are special women.
I literally heard of the Secret Sisters for the first time 15 minutes ago then I looked on YT and found this video. It took me all of 5 seconds after they started singing to know this is one of my new favorites!
So 6 years later, I’m having the same experience after watching a BC video talking about how she worked with them. I’ve watched only a few videos, but I’m loving them as much as BC, NG, and of course Indigo Girls ❤
Same sentiment 7 years later! I heard of them for the 1st time when they opened a concert for Ray Lamontagne. I’ve listened to this song like 5,000 times already since hearing them perform.
I cannot imagine this song being any better than it is. The voices plaintive, hurt, and yet strong, determined. Rich rhythmic instrumentals that fill the space but do not intrude on the voices. Marvelous

Heard them on the local college station that I listen to despite being 60 years old, and Shazamed it. This is why I listen to indie stations, I doubt you would hear this at all on commercial stations. I'm pretty sure the modern country stations wouldn't touch it, even though it is country.
Wow...heard this on my local radio station and ran home and googled them and seeing brandi in the video is just icing on the cake!!!!!! simply amazing.....
Love the image of them leaving the stage at Red Rocks holding their hearts. That must have been a thrill for them. Can't wait to see them in KCMO next month.
I kicked in a few bucks to help crowd fund this project and am knocked out by the finished product. Great songs, excellent production by Brandi Carlisle and the Hanseroth Twins.
Ah YES, success is such sweet revenge! The Secret Sisters have been blessed with beautiful voices, along with the ability to write beautiful lyrics to compliment them❣
So proud to see Brandi and the Twins paying it forward with these 2 lovely ladies. It was a pleasure to see you all share the stage and I hope there are more opportunities to
Just discovers you 2 beautiful ladies on the news this morning, I'm obsessed! Beautiful, real, true talent! It's nice finding real music talent these days...seems rare to me.
love them saw at the grand ole opery when they first started out met them a few times they are very humble great to see them back after a break while one of them had a baby glad they are now in control of the music and what music they produce hope to see them again soon
I was listening to "The Wailin' Jenny's" on Spotify and wound up hearing this song. My ears immediately perked up. Wow, what a lucky break. You girl's are awesome. I've listened to most everything you've recorded today. My favorites are He's fine, Tennessee River, Silver, and Mississippi.
Do you know I just love these girls. WHAT VOICES. Sitting here on the Isle of Man I have all their albums. So glad theve gone back to their pure roots. So proud of you both - you make me VERY full of every emotion when I listen to your voices. I'm singing away at the top of my voice with ya. x
Went to see Ray LaMontagne and The Secret Sisters this past Wednesday. It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Ray LaMontagne is in a league of his own, BUT The Secret Sisters have something truly special and unique. They were mesmerizing. Every word they sang hit me very deeply. Great artists. ♥️
This song is my entire life. I saw you on stage seems like years ago. I don't remember where. Y'all were nervous, but amazing. I'm back in Nashville, and I heard this on the radio. I knew I'd heard you before. It's saving me right now. Thank you.
The only radio station I can pick up at work is the local college affiliated one and it's played this song twice in two days. Very catchy and very Brandi Carlisle-inspired production. Which is a good thing.
Loved all of your performances on Tønder Festival. Waauw. I am so happy to have had the experience to see you live at the Bolero tent , the concert and the interwieve with Alex Nyborg Madsen and Søren Rebe ,and Womens Circle 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
One of those songs/groups where you're listening to a random streaming radio station and all of a sudden you stop and re-listen, and then do research. Awesome.
A fellow First Aid Kit fan! I like them both but for different reasons. I think the Secret Sisters are a bit mellow but First Aid Kit has more character.
Love these ladies - And Brandi!! I've seen them open for Brandi a few times and I encourage anyone to go so a show. Exceptional talents and really funny from the stage...
This might be your best song yet! Well done indeed. The music director and sound mastering gal should be proud, as they must have had the Everly Brothers looking over their shoulders.
This is an amazing song and it might be your best yet. I've been a fan since your first album and you keep getting better with every song. Keep up the great work I'll see you in Chicago.
Funny how things happen. David Crosby passes away and, as I'm looking at all the tribute postings on-line, somebody mentions the Joni Mitchell channel on Spotify. I head there and find this gem, along with another Secret Sisters song, equally good. Now I find myself sitting here, playing along on my six string (capo 3), absolutely loving it. Don't get me wrong - I wish The Croz was still alive, but something good can come out of something awful.
This goes to show that if you are a singer /songwriter and you want your songs on the radio, have Brandi Carlile work with you on it. Well done ladies. That is a beautiful song with a beautiful musical arrangement.
Getting myself familiar with their music before seeing them open for Brandi Carlile tonight in Virginia. Solid stuff. Time for another happy album purchase.

I wish more people would sing like this. Pure, no trendy affectations. Beautiful voices!

I saw this concert as well. They were brilliant!

Absolutely fabulous
This one of the most beautiful and emotional songs ever written. My heart breaks for more from the Secret Sisters. You are truly magnificent.

Sorry to hear about your affliction (attraction to members of your own sex).

Me too! They will be at Fire & Wood this weekend in Alpharetta!
I love this. ❤

Sisterhood is such a beautiful bond. Angels, all of them.
Ever the timely one, Joe here stumbles in 6 years late and marvels at this absolute bop.
I cannot imagine this song being any better than it is. The voices plaintive, hurt, and yet strong, determined. Rich rhythmic instrumentals that fill the space but do not intrude on the voices. Marvelous
this is still one of my favourite songs of all time ✨
I listen to mostly reggae, thrash metal, and old rock. I love this tune.

This is an amazing song .. I just heard it for first time today .. love it
Perfectly written. Beautiful voices.
Just shared the stage with these lovely sisters. They are absolutely on point live and very nice people 🙂
When I heard this on the radio I had to look these ladies up! Love it!
Heard them on the local college station that I listen to despite being 60 years old, and Shazamed it. This is why I listen to indie stations, I doubt you would hear this at all on commercial stations. I'm pretty sure the modern country stations wouldn't touch it, even though it is country.
Your right Dan, i live in NJ with 1 country station and they wouldn't play it even though it's better than 99% of what they play.
and by 99, you mean 100
Same. Had to know who it was. Local radio plays them. I just looked up Davey white.
So, so good. Thank you Brandi for helping these immensely talented (and original for these days) ladies further their careers. We are so grateful!
Amazing...love the song and a great video. Looking forward to the rest of the album...hats off to Brandi Carlile for the great production!
I like the part where she's fangirling over the lyrics.
Wow... just Wow! I am officially obsessed
Wow...heard this on my local radio station and ran home and googled them and seeing brandi in the video is just icing on the cake!!!!!! simply amazing.....
This song is perfect, and exemplifies excellence in Country music. I love the Sisters, and highly anticipate their new record in 2020.

Well done ladies. That is a beautiful song with a beautiful musical arrangement.
Amazingly perfect harmonies. Love it!
Very relaxing song. I can't lie, I've been through this story before.
This is just great.
Getting myself familiar with their music before seeing them open for Brandi Carlile tonight in Virginia.

Davey White
Where is he tonight?
He's sleeping with her in a Tennessee town and he's fine
I think I lost my mind
And my wasted time
I'm dreaming alone in a hotel bed that he's mine
Bought a gown to match his name
Kept my virtue just the same
So I could offer to my love
A bride he could be proud of
I was sure I held his heart
'Til a Louisiana girl tore us apart
Watched him as he turned away
Into her arms, where he stayed
Davey White
Where is he tonight?
He's sleeping with her in a Tennessee town and he's fine
I think I lost my mind
And my wasted time
I'm dreaming alone in a hotel bed that he's mine
Once my tears had all run out
I learned how to live without
Pieces left behind in tow
I took to the hard road
Strangers know the songs I write
They come to hear me sing at night
They don't know I've paid the cost
They don't know what I lost
Davey White
Where is he tonight?
He's sleeping with her in a Tennessee town and he's fine
I think I lost my mind
And my wasted time

'Til all the hurt is gone again
Searching for the next mistake
Who never ever would replace

SO in love with this. This gives me goosebumps, you beautiful souls!!! xo
