If you are a regular here you may have seen these videos before but I wanted to upload all the episodes from my road trip combined for new people! Hope you all had a nice Christmas. :) Alex
Would you please post how we could rent the places where you stay at? Because that place in the mountains in Slovenia would be an awesome place to stay.
I am 67 years old granny watching your programme. My 8 yr old grandson joined me a third way through and was captivated. My 5 year old grandson joined in and when my 6 year old Grandaughter could not tear them away for a picnic in the tent rigged in the sitting room, with party packs……she lost the battle and all of them watched to the very end and found it extremely interesting, as did I. Great time passed. Thank-you for sharing and to all those who joined you! 🙌🏼
I've recently discovered your channel. To be honest, I will never do most of the things you do but you are so easy to watch. Your videos are so relaxing and your quiet positivity is so calming.
So true. I just encountered his videos last night. Nice and relaxed, very human, and tries some interesting stuff. I’m already a fan. I think he’d be great at cycle touring. Lots of nice scenery, lots of experiences to absorb and process.
I'm 17, and watching this video with the intent of living like this in the future. I see people three times my age still aspiring to do the same. It's funny how our aspirations never really change, we all just want to be free in the end.
I'm one of those people, three times your age and looking forward to doing almost all the things Alex is doing in this video! In truth, I've been doing most of this for decades already, in the Rocky mountains and the deserts of the American west. I felt like a bit of an outcast, traveling around in a van when it wasn't really popular, collecting mushrooms, fishing, canoeing, hunting for jade and other treasures of the earth. I'm glad my my misfit life has become popular enough to support a number of youtube channels!
Alex and his father, Fritz, made you part of their family for a day. That is a beautiful thing, when strangers can come together and share a moment of humanity.
Good luck Alex. I’m a 50 year old ED nurse. When I retire I’ll be doing this. I look forward to watching your journey. Freedom is scary. But it’s a priceless opportunity for personal growth. Have fun ❤️
Freedom is never scary, it gives us power and peace that cannot be achieved without a certain degree of freedom. Without freedom we live in prison. I suppose prison can feel like a comfort place (like a dog crate), but we can and should do better than that.
Everyone who reached out to Alex was a young person supported by an oldie or a spouse. I think being on the road long term will not be good with personal relationships, home and roots, you need to be in one place for that. I wonder if he felt unsafe when parked up in woods etc. I would miss a shower and loo.
Alex, when you can capture tears of joy from those of us around the globe… you’re doing what the world needs… I personally hope you stay the path. 🙏 Thank you for sharing your experience with me… you brought smiles, tears and an abundance overall joy within me. 🙏
Guess who watched this 3 HOURS video when he had already seen all your videos of your road trip in Europe ? Well, yeah, we never get tired of it! One or two little tears because of what the people you met offered you. It's just incredible. And yes, and a road trip to Scandinavia next year, that's a big yes !!!! Big ❤ on you Alex!
Exactly! I have his channel on my "Watch Later" list and have watched episodes numerous times already. Now, I have a single one to watch as well. I have to admit, however, that I still cannot take a wild mushroom and "taste test" it the way you all did -- I need my exert friends for that! Hahaha!
That swiss family are some of the kindest people among us. Fed Alex, washed his cloths, allowed him to take a shower, entertained him (foraging, fishing, touring)...I mean...come on...who does all that for a stranger?
Im American and in my personal experience Austrians are incredibly hospitable and friendly - spent a few days in Vienna and Salzburg and frankly was amazed and humbled by how many locals wanted to show me around and open their homes to me, just after a random conversation on the train or in the museums quarter. Such a great country and people
A a new person to here... found by accident.. i watched the 3 hours is short episodes and wow .... INCROYABLE ...chapeau! ... hats off to those who have knowledge skills and talent. ., Thank you for showing us a European world... and I am so sad because of Brexit your time out of my country has been curbed..
Thank You, Alex. Your story was like a joyous, comforting, adventure, all wrapped up in a big hug. A fine example of the good in humanity. Oh, and the word "delectable" could sum up your taste sensations, experienced with some superb chefs, as well as, life-giving, kind individuals. The people interwoven in your story are truly the salt of the earth.
You have inspired me to get my own van and start having adventures...so thank you. You are an amazing young man. Never change and keep on creating your adventures.
i stumble upon your channel and i immediately love it. your character is so easy to watch, the music choice for your video is so comfy. and i think the way you telling your story is sincere. this is my latest comfort channel 💙
I just found your channel a couple of nights ago after searching "truffle hunting" on RUclips and have been watching everyday now. You have a a real gift in telling stories, man! Subscibed.
Other than my brother who is about your stature, I have never seen someone so fascinated with food. I’m looking at retirement soon and have no plans yet but I think living vicariously through you will do until then. You are a remarkable young man and I am truly enjoying your videos from America!
I love the restaurant and 4 👨🍳 Chefs that cooked the amazing meal in their beautiful restaurant. I totally want to visit there, they were just so kind ❤️
Alex, this trip was amazing. I'm in my sixties now and I so wish I could have done half of what you've done already. Keep making these wonderful videos and I can't wait for for your next adventure. Thanks, Pete.
Love your videos! They speak to my soul and mind. In this fast changing crazy world you are a gift of grounding energy, inspiration, kindness and politeness, respect for people, their land and culture. Your inquisitive nature is moving, cute and funny, your ability to connect with strangers is phenomenal and humbling. You are full of gifts, really. Sharing them comes natural for you, but I want to express my deep gratitude so you can feel it. ❤
Thank you for your positivity and openess to embrace those generous people who shared their work with you! I truly enjoyed the music choices as much as the visual narrative. The enjoyable part is left to our own sensitivities, the smells and tastes of high level cooking is sure to inspire some of us cooks who prepare from our own gardens!
Thanks for being so positive, inspiring and relaxing. I'm so happy I found your content because I'm starting a new position at work. I had to say goodbye to my coworkers today, which I had grow quite fond of. Watching this has made me feel like I'm ready for this next step. I'm happy you could put into prospective that I'm going on an adventure in this present moment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. -Some Guy From Ohio
So, I'm 45 minutes through, and I'm in awe. That cabin you stayed in was beautiful, absolutely perfect. This 3 hour epic is just what I needed. Looking forward to watching the rest!
I remember when you just left Carl and Alex, and you were on like 20k subs. I love that you're growing and doing so well, as is Carl! It's great to see. Well done dude 🙏👌
What an incredible adventure to go on. So free and yet so personal. Watching you meet so many kind people from different places, showing hospitality and teachings. You have experienced so much, you are inspiration.
Hello Alex im from the 🇺🇸 🌎! What a treasure finding your channel has been. I love to watch it at night when I want to really relax and it's instant coziness. Keep it up! Thank you 😊
This is so incredible Alex, watched this all the way through and kept refering to the Foraging Pocket Guide everytime you stumbled on mushrooms on your adventures.
Amazing experiences. You melt every personality on your way :) Feeling happy for you to have had a chance to met all these people. Thank you for sharing!
I want to join the Alex+Fritz family... they seemed so fantastically lovely. My heart was filled, to bursting, with warmth seeing them interact with Alex in such a familiar way. All good things to them.
Very impressive Alex! You have inspired us all! Thank you for sharing your adventures, interests, and friendships on the way. We love your simplicity and honest sharing. The scenery and photos are breathtaking. We are hooked! Can’t wait for more!
Ik I’m soooo late lol.. A power bank can be charged by solar and you could use a heating blanket/mixer/toaster etc.. A bucket of water and a camping shower pump can be used as a shower. Add a shower curtain to back of van. Love your journey and all the wonderful people you’ve met. So glad I subbed x I’m bingeing.
Watched it all, start to finish and it was wonderful. I think you were a Tibetan Monk in a previous life, so calm and authentic. Great film Alex, thank you for sharing your adventures with us all. X
Thank you for taking me on this wonderful travel adventure! I suspect you might just end up becoming a chef. You seem to be developing quite a liking for the art. You will have to learn organization and timing and many skills but I believe you can do it!
Hi Alex, Found your channel recently (like 2 days ago) and am so glad..... I am enjoying your take on life and all the other stuff that you are up to.. Your Positive attitude is infectious and so appreciated. Wishing you more adventures and travelling time.
I'm so happy I found this channel. I'm planning to convert a van within the next couple of months. I want to live simply, freely, spend more time in nature and be able to meet more awesome, like-minded people. Watching this gives me so much reassurance that I could actually do this! It's been a dream for years, but now I'm finally on my way to making it a reality. Maybe we'll bump into each other at some point haha. Hope life is treating you well man 👊 -Rach
This guy is so sweet and respectful, usually I skip through these kinds of videos but this was very relaxing and peaceful. Now I wanna go mushroom hunting lol!
I felt like I was on a journey with you. Love seeing all the different counties and fantastic people. What a great experience. Thank you Alex, stay safe
I have just binge watched the whole video. I found it so charming interesting and fun. The best three plus hours I’ve been on u tube. Keep on travelling lovely Alex!
It’s amazing that your journey is much different then many Van lifers I’ve watched. Many have quit van lifing to build homes or businesses yet they haven’t given up on the travel bugg
Just found your channel this week and it's a real gift to the world. You are such an interesting and interested in the world young man. Wish you all the success with this channel and your ongoing adventures.
Alex, I have to say I feel so many emotions watching your videos. I starting watching your channel through my love for fishing and in recent years it's becoming more difficult to get out and enjoy fishing without guilt or sacrifice of one thing or another and watching your videos it just brings to mind all the other things in life that I think would be amazing to do. Places to explore and experience even without a fishing rod. Fair play to you brother. Top man! So much to do and see and so little time to do it in. I take my hat off to you! Please keep up this great content your making ❤
This is the first of your videos I've seen. I just keep thinking how cool your life is right now. It's amazing to me. Enjoy all the awesome experiences, meeting new people, seeing the most incredible sites and keep sharing with us. ✌️
changes to the van: get a polaroid camera and take photos of places you visit and stick them to the wall! then you have a cute little memory timeline and something to look at other than wood
How about an Electric Bike? What did you get? You know Alex, I found your channel just this morning. I've been through a couple of videos now. This trip, your experiences, the people you've met, the food you've had, the final meal with the chefs all speak to the reality of this world the news would not have you believe. It proves however, that people have dreams, are kind, friendly and capable of wonderful sharing and compassion. I like your channel. I'll keep checking it for more such content. I'm 69-years-old. Traveled a lot in my life, but nothing, compares to the type of travels you shared here. Though, I've met and kept connections with many good people, I wish in my day, I could have traveled the way you have and are. Keep going...Don't stop, keep sharing because yours is not a life wasted.
Wow Alex, what a delightful Journey of traveling, meeting wonderful, and generous people throughput all the European countries you visited. What a diverse acuarela of beautiful colors, tastes, luscious flavors, fresh ingredients, textures, and of course, FLAVORFUL MUSHROOMS!! . Good luck to you Alex, as you’ll go back to England to see your loved ones, and friends!!
It was great to see the episodes all together!!! What a spectacular journey, makes us want to hit the road and have such an adventure! Keep posting your adventures to inspire us!!! Drive safe mate! Greetings from Portugal!
This was amazing. The people you met along the way, the beautiful hospitality, the foraging, the chefs, the food, and how you edited the entire journey was totally spectacular. I truly loved and appreciated the journey. Thank you, Alex. From Texas ❤
Just randomly came upon this vlog, you are so engaging, really enjoyed your relaxed and calm style.Scenic views, interesting interactions and experiences, what a wonderful journey. Thanks for bringing us along.
What an ending! I just recently found your channel and oh my, I never thought I'd EVER be sucked into a 3hour video... but here I am. It did take me a few breaks, but wow. It was really cool to watch this adventure you had. I am incredibly envious and impressed. Not to mention your editing style and film work is really pleasing to watch. So glad I've found your channel, Alex. Keep up the great work!
What an incredible journey. And what an ending. Amazing to watch such passionate likeable people prepare for the dinner and work in the kitchen. Easy to tell they really love what they do and have an incredible team.
If you want to give the mushroom a chance to regrow, don’t pull them out, but rather cut them, leaving the root. You can also lightly flick the cap, to spread some spores 🙂 You got some nice ones, nicely done! 👍
Extensive studies have shown that there is very little difference between plucking and cutting a mushroom. In fact, plucking gives signals sooner that a mushroom is gone, so the organism diverts energy to fruiting more mushrooms.
Watched your “road trip” straight thru and it was an amazing visual and educational journey. Found your channel today and spent a pleasant afternoon diversion. Thanks for sharing. I’m a expatriate American living in the Mekong Delta Vietnam. ☮️
Your mom and dad are so sweet, Kurt! Both smiling, loving and happy. I bet mom could barely wait to hug you. I remember asking if Kurt was an engineer after seeing the beautiful job he did on your finished van. Now I see where he got his technical ingenuity- his dad is an inventor! Brilliant! It is now November, 2023 and we know that you are healthier than ever. Look how far you've come, Snow!! You know your limits but you walk miles daily and you've continued your healthy eating. Your heart thanks you. Sending ❤ and best wishes for continued good health from Toronto, Canada!
Looking forward to starting our own adventures across Europe and making our own videos..learning so much from you right now thankyou for posting your adventures, looking forward to seeing more.
Really awesome video. You are one lucky guy to have been to so many spectacular places, ate the most delicious and unique food and met the most kind and genuine people. Excellent adventure. Loved going along with you.❤️🥰
Halfway through my gap year right now, and stumbled across your channel. My goal is to start travelling in the next few weeks and you've given me the goal of setting up my own van for awesome digital nomad road trips like this during the summer. The views, the people you met, it's all just amazing!
@msduta Have fun! Remember, you don't need a fancy van set-up to enjoy the journey. You just need a reliable vehicle, a source of heat, a way for cooking, a way to purify and store water and good (comfy/warm) bedding. Oh, and money/credit. Enjoy!!!
Great video! I really felt like I was back in Europe with your videos, how I miss those days. Also really enjoyed the content, especially the mushroom guy, what passion he has for the fungi.
Just sat and watched the over 3 hour blog, loved it. I have a Berlingo professionly converted, you've definitely inspired me to do your travel route. Amazing vblog and content. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure.
I stumbled across your channel by accident. It was a pleasant surprise. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this video. You are an awesome and brave young man. I'm not sure I could do travel solo. Look forward to watching your other videos. Be safe, and enjoy your journey.
Hi Alex, I have watched the lot along the way, but the way you’ve put them all together is great… Just under an hour into this compilation. Great Channel and content Alex. Must be great to have so many friends in different countries to visit them. It’s really nice to see that so many of the guys you encounter are so friendly and let you stay at their places and even do your washing etc and feed and water you… Your so interesting and I find your presentation calming and engaging.. I can’t wait for the next episodes. A very happy new year to you 🎉 no loads more adventures in 2023
Oh those chefs you met they were the best ones ive seen online! So united! And their body lang n communication was so natural...i just wish them the very best and hope they climb the mountain of culinary to the top.. the energy was so uplifting to see and when they licked their plates. Yes that is true respect fr food.. like lil children.. tq alex for this.. its the best kitchen ergonomics ive ever seen!. ❤
I make chicken stew for pies twice a year. My guess is that soup has a thinner base than stew has. Yes, a mountain bike with thick knobby tires. You could use it everywhere, almost. Bon Appétit. Brightest Blessings
Hello Just Alex, I love your streams. U remind me that I should be living for the adventure, not just to think about it. U have made me think about regarding the good thoughts and not dwell on the bad. I waited for U to stream live, but I'm sorry I had to go. Keep up the great work & I will be tuning in to watch more adventures, at home, on top of a mountain, or at sea. .
Looks like you had a great trip and met some wonderful and very generous people. I’m sure your channel will continue to grow, it’s interesting and very well presented. Well done to you and your parents for raising you to want to do what you do. If you ever find yourself in Calabria, give me a shout. Mushroom picking, wild boar hunting and making wine all goes on around here and my friend has 400 hives. I’m sure you’d like it here.
I’m so happy I stumbled across this video, loved everything about it! Stunningly beautiful scenery, learning about mushrooms, bees, cooking and more, and most of all I enjoyed your warm, open, curious personality and the truly interesting people you met along the way. This video is a great reminder that there is plenty of goodness in the world. I can’t hit the subscribe and like buttons fast enough and look forward to watching many of your other videos. Best of luck Alex on your future adventures from Dallas, Texas USA. 🤗
Hi Alex, brilliant video! Enjoyable on so many levels, you are a natural at presenting and highly proficient at compiling the production of your video. It was without doubt one of the best full length videos out there that I've watched in years. Unlike so many Y-tubers who just want to be 'film stars' with tons of face time you have not fallen in to that trap. Great work. paul
If you are a regular here you may have seen these videos before but I wanted to upload all the episodes from my road trip combined for new people! Hope you all had a nice Christmas. :)

I seen this video and I'm happily watching it again! Merry Christmas Alex and Happy new year. Cheers

So much quality on this channel.. Great content. And so relaxing to watch. Keep up the good work Alex.
I have just binge watched the whole video. I found it so charming interesting and fun. The best three plus hours I’ve been on u tube. Keep on travelling lovely Alex!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You do real well with these video adventures. More well put together than most bs i see on tv. Great job. 👏
This is the first of your videos I've seen. I just keep thinking how cool your life is right now. It's amazing to me. Enjoy all the awesome experiences, meeting new people, seeing the most incredible sites and keep sharing with us. ✌️
These extra long video's of yours are amazing. In a few years I want to do a road trip myself and you are just showing me, how simple it can be
changes to the van: get a polaroid camera and take photos of places you visit and stick them to the wall! then you have a cute little memory timeline and something to look at other than wood
Excellent video Alex, the whole production, so well done. The last hour of the video was so entertaining, love the people, the mushrooms, the cooking.
I am impressed with your zeal n courage to go on your life experiencing such beautiful countries.. Keep it up. All the best.

This was amazing. The people you met along the way, the beautiful hospitality, the foraging, the chefs, the food, and how you edited the entire journey was totally spectacular. I truly loved and appreciated the journey. Thank you, Alex. From Texas ❤
Just binge watching your trip. You met some amazing people on your travels! The sort of trip I think would be a chef's dream trip. Beautiful views!

You are an amazing film maker Alex, a natural talent, extremely engaging 👍
The basket is used to let the spores fall to the ground.
Beer, butter abd garlic simmering, quartered mushooms, salt and pepper...steam 3 min. And "YUMMM"
Really awesome video. You are one lucky guy to have been to so many spectacular places, ate the most delicious and unique food and met the most kind and genuine people. Excellent adventure. Loved going along with you.❤️🥰
Why, Moritz is a real chef. I enjoyed seeing him cook and decorate the plates. Thank you for the fun of watching you gave us.
Alex and his parents were so accommodating, what a lovely family !
The meal you made with the mushrooms looks extraordinary. Delicious

I really love the energy of that one russian man who had cats and had published a book. Both of you is just sooo entertaining to watch
So united! Man, I'd love to go travelling in a Van like this one day. Left this comment 1 hour into the video, but very nice so far!
Keep up the great work & I will be tuning in to watch more adventures, at home, on top of a mountain, or at sea. .
I just discovered your channel. Totally enjoying it. Keep videoing. I can see with a million subscribers.
Thanks James!
This has been such a joy to watch, thank you ❤❤❤❤
I’m so happy I stumbled across this video, loved everything about it!
Great work. paul
You can loop your videos 24/7 and they will never get boring. Excellent stuff, mate! All the best and a ton of vids in the New Year! :)
Many, many thanks to Alex and his new-found friends for sharing their lives, their homes and their adventures with us! What a happy world this can be!
New subscriber here Alex, what a treat to be able to follow your adventures with you. Lots of ❤ from New Zealand 🇳🇿
