Hey! For those of you who are regulars to this channel, you've probably seen all these videos before, but as with every year I like to upload a film which is all the beekeeping episodes of the season combined together. Hope you enjoy learning about bees and I'll be back next year with more beekeeping episodes!
I gotta get a jar of honey next year! Was hoping for this year but they were sold out. Unfortunate, but im also glad youre getting the support you deserve from fellow fans! Hopefully you get 2x the harvest next year!
When working around tools that have spinning arbors and spindles you should remove or secure any loose fitting clothing like long sleeves and scarves. One slip of an errant string getting wound around the arbor of the circular saw and your face can be drawn very rapidly to the spinning blade, or the saw can come out of your hand and run towards your face. Please take safety measures. I like seeing your videos and I’d hate to find out that you’ve been injured.
best 3 hours spent in a long time! well done Alex, shame I missed the sale, but surely will keep my eyes open and hope will get some of your honey next year!
Your drip candles are lovely but they also take forever. Your own hives might be able to create enough wax for you to give every customer a tea light candle with their honey
Haha ive been busy at home book binding all weekend and ive been binging your videos in the background as its so nice to listen to while keeping busy. Very good timing Alex!
This is the sort of video where my heart goes "oh man I wish I could do this, maybe when I have a house" but my brain remembers that I don't have the sort of self-discipline and motivation for this sort of thing and I'd probably end up with a dead bee colony or they'd just... leave. Very inspirational video, through and through!
Your beekeeping content is awesome! New beekeeper here who accidentally got over 220kg of honey this year in Sweden. Your videos have helped me alot actually during ths first year. Also, I love the editing style and your voice so I usually put all of your videos on repeat
Nice one, Alex. that was really good to see all your 🐝🐝🐝 bee keeping films 🎥 in one it's always very interesting to watch. I can't wait till next year's season amazing work 🍯🍯🍯🐝🐝🐝😁👍
Alex, I am going to repeat myself - I can watch your videos on a loop. I have been following you for a few years (when you were a 50% part of Carl and Alex :) ) I will say one thing now (pardon the caps) - GUYS, 8500 VIEWS AND ONLY 836 LIKES? Please just click the thumbs up, it will help Alex. We all want to see more, right?
Did you know you can make food grade soda crystals (sodium carbonate) by baking baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) at 150C for 1-2 hours in the oven? Spread a thin (1cm) layer on a tray. Use fan mode for consistent temp. Water and CO2 is released as it changes state. The final product will weigh 63% of the original weight (when 100% converted). Cooking too hot (200C+) can cause sodium carbonate to decompose further into sodium oxide (makes drain cleaner in water apparently), so don't go over 150C. Not sure if the stuff you're using is food grade but this is a very cheap and easy way to get food grade soda crystals from supermarket products that you can be sure won't contain harmful impurities (heavy metals etc) that might end up in your bees and honey. Very enjoyable video, thanks!
Quin will stop or not lay any eggs if there is no food in the hive. Once she sees that there is nectar coming in she will start laying again. Do not kill the queen straight away try feeding them sugar sirup first.
No way I just watched your 2 year beekeeping summary video this morning (probably for the 5th time😅)!!!! For someone who has a trauma with bees and just has panic attacks beeing around them this is my kind of therapy😂😂😂
what a year Alex this recap of the hole year was such a pleasure to watch. I wish you all the best and fingers x next year I can buy a jar of the honey as you sold out so fast 😀
I had to do a double take while watching the segment at 15:35, because you have the same hoodie as me! It happens to be my favourite, most comfortable hoodie too!
Hey alex, i have been watching your videos since the beginning of beekeeping. I am really fascinated that you came this far. Always happy when you make new videos❤❤❤
My super is the same size as the brood box, both being full size. I have a Flow Hive so it's easier to extract the honey but yes is can get very heavy. My husbnad usually lifts it for me to do the brood inspections but I am wanting to build a stand where I can remove some of the super Flow frames to lighten it before I try to lift it myself.
Hi Glenn, thanks for your videos. I always find them awesome and great for learning. We had an issue last week where we had a small swarm that absconded again, which we caught and put back and decided to add some brood and nurse bees from another hive which it had originally swarmed from. What followed was a massacre. Luckily I had separated the queen and had her in a cage. We are notbsure whether the swarm killed all the nurse bees or vice versa. What did we do wrong. The queen and the other bees are now doing fine, but seeing the massacre was awful and it was all over in minutes. Thanks Sue
Hey Alex , random buut it would be nice to watch videos of you raising Chickens their really cool and so many breeds .2nd year doing it for me and its so satisfying and fulfilling !!
Hi Alex what is the brand\ name\supplier of you bee suit? I particulary like the vail\head protection. Really like your videos they are very informitive. I only started keeping bee's 2023 after many years of procastination your videos are helping me on the journey. keep up the good work.
This question was in my mind that where is the full detailed video of beekeeping 2024 I am from Kashmir and you inspired me to do so, i love your videos and I am going to spend 3 hours in peace
How many hives do you think you can manage Alex? I've gone from 0 to 12 this year , well 13 but one is queenless. I think 12 is a good amount to manage and it not interfere with everything else too much.
Alex did I just read the word “propolis”!!! Is this the same as the carp treatment we buy off the shelf? Old Korda competition winners in June 2021- Will and son Oscar, a day we never forget 🎣
Hi Alex. I'm a relatively new subscriber and found your channel a couple of months back. I watched year one and then year 2.....now throughly enjoying year 3 all the episodes together. I have always been fascinated about bee's and their hives and after watching your first year videos I am truly hooked. I now follow other bee keeper's and am finding learning a great distraction from my health issues. Due to yourself and some other bee keeper's I am going to get in touch with my local bee keeping club and see if I can get involved....so thank you 💜 Do you follow aaand watch Jeff Horchoff Bee's? As a lot of the things you were talking about and questioning are covered by Jeff also. The way I have seen others use elastic bands is from corner to corner...then tou lay down your cut comb in the frame with the elastic bands then becoming underneath that piece of comb....then corner to corner again with 2 more elastic bands. That way there seems to be less disturbance to the hive bee's and also the brood comb. You can really see how far you have come since you started out and your enthusiasm is very contagious. Isn't the West County such a beautiful place...I used to live in North Devon. Oh also have you heard about or read about fume boards for pushing down the bee's out of the super for collection time? Again well done and can't wait to see how big your honey harvest is as I am about half way through this collection of videos 💜
I haven't seen the bee hives model your are working with. I know but Kenyan Top bar hives and other traditional bee hives models practice here in Cameroon
Instead of splitting your colony into nuc boxes, couldn’t you just add a second full size brood box to the original colony to give them Room to expand?
Have you considered a cheese wax or sealing wax as another avenue instead of solely candles I can imagine it is tiring/repetitive and could make the work more “fun”

Doesn’t matter if we already saw them! 3 hours of fine content, and I seem to recognize new footage?
Awesome job Alex 👏
You could make a playlist and make a full movie at the end
Hope its gonna go great next year to
No worries Alex. All of your content is worth watching time n time again 🙌🏿
What do you think the bees think when the "giant bee that cannot fly" brings them a huge brick of fondant sugar?
they probably think "MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" and then eat it
Sweeeeet
"The god has blessed us!"
And why does he only have 4 legs? He doesn’t even use them properly 😂
I gotta get a jar of honey next year! Was hoping for this year but they were sold out. Unfortunate, but im also glad youre getting the support you deserve from fellow fans! Hopefully you get 2x the harvest next year!
Thank you for the long Video :) I really enjoy them.
Hey aIex, i also started beekeeping in 2021
And I harvest 51 kg of honey this season.
Keep growing ❤❤
This timing is spot on 😮

Seconding this, watching with friends and we all simultaneously gasped when we saw how close his scarf was to the blade. Biiiiiiig nono.

Thank you, Alex, for the incredible job you did! That video is going to be a great resource for me as I begin my journey with bee keeping .
Haha ive been busy at home book binding all weekend and ive been binging your videos in the background as its so nice to listen to while keeping busy. Very good timing Alex!
This whole video is very therapeutic and educational. I appreciate all the work you do for the bees and the world of pollinators.🐝🐝
Always nice to see your videos in my notifications.
Great vibes with all the fresh food you’re making.
Would love to see a video about your winter prep for bees!
Thanks for recording the honey harvest and bee keeping as always Alex.
I’m loving this series of beekeeping. Makes me want to be a beekeeper. 😊 Good job Alex.
Hoping on RUclips and seeing a 3 hour video from you made my day. Keep at it
How did i just watch 3 hours of alex and his bees.😂
i'm so ready to watch this marathon, the corn is in the microwave!

Awesome video Alex! Thoroughly enjoyed, so thanks❤💎
I’m always so delighted when I see that you’ve posted a bee video
0:35 - Wow, I had no idea bees worked this way! So fascinating!
I absolutely love the bee’s little yellow pollen pants. 😂

Hi Alex, your journey is amazing. God bless you
Between each dip of your candles, you can dip in cold or ice water to speed up the process

I had to do a double take while watching the segment at 15:35, because you have the same hoodie as me! It happens to be my favourite, most comfortable hoodie too!
I live in Croatia, and I saw you on TV.
With the beekeeping and the home brewing I assume the next step is adding mead into next year's box.
Great video as always Alax, really enjoyed watching it…👍
Hey alex, i have been watching your videos since the beginning of beekeeping. I am really fascinated that you came this far. Always happy when you make new videos❤❤❤
It's always funny trying to explain to people why I suddenly get wicked knowledgeable about bees after these yearly videos.
I really enjoyed this video and hope you'll do something similar again. Thanks! =)

So wonderful! My children and I have greatly enjoyed your new keeping videos! Would you ship to USA a jar of honey?
Hey Alex.
Hi Alex, thank you for the nice and useful videos.
What is the best period to start beekeeping?
Thank you.
Hey Alex , random buut it would be nice to watch videos of you raising Chickens their really cool and so many breeds .2nd year doing it for me and its so satisfying and fulfilling !!
I’m definitely going to make a video about this. Give me a few years though as I’ll need a little patch of land for this.
love your videos Alex well done!

Hey!!! Yes it’s the same thing!
@ potentially another product you can sell rather than see it go to waste? I’m sure it’d need refining somehow.
I have bookmark 🔖 🐝
What was the dimensions of your lumber for those nucs?
From Australia
I dont live far from bristol would love to buy some of your honey when you have a stall at the market.

How can I buy your honey or wax, delivered to Belgium? Good reason to be proud of yourself!!! I watched till the end. Enjoy your vacation ❤
Hi, any experiences using mushroom extracts to save bees ?
I haven't seen the bee hives model your are working with. I know but Kenyan Top bar hives and other traditional bee hives models practice here in Cameroon
Another wonderful video , thank you. I have a question, your voice quality is so pleasant what mic and effects are you using?
Why kill the Queen? No option to take her somewhere away from hive and let it fly away? Wondering

Hi! I want to get into beekeeping, wondering what Is the average startup costs and any good quality starter kits that can be shipped to the US?
I was waiting for this 😊
Hi Alex, how did you do with the allotment?
Hi Alex, where did you get that candle dipping kit from?
Thanks for the journey. Do yourself a favor and wear hearing protection when using those circular saws.. tinitus sucks.
The greater good! 🤓
Instead of splitting your colony into nuc boxes, couldn’t you just add a second full size brood box to the original colony to give them
Room to expand?
Yeeeeaaaaaaa was waiting for a new vid
Can you plant some venus fly traps it will be very cool
You need to try antkeeping!
LoL at that laugh when you said you don't know much about breeding.
Well Alex I remember when you started I to have 4 hives as well but im a lot older then you this year I’m not pulling honey till Easter next year 2025
i see bees i play
