I love how the darkest moments in OTGW are some of the absolute best moments! It just shows exactly how scary they intended for this amazing series to be!!!
The mere that that The Beast is the embodiment of suicidal thoughts IS dark in itself. It causes its victims to lose hope or to exhaust themselves, turns them into trees with distorted faces (like in the Divine Comedy, those who killed themselves are turned into trees, constantly tortured by harpies) so it would feed of their souls. In its song, it claims to be the “light in the tunnel” for the lost, meek souls, and tricks them into making believers that they would find rest and stop their pain once “they submit to the soil of the earth” (a.k.a. If they kill themselves)
Bro, Over the Garden Wall twist came out of fucking nowhere. Two little kids, revealed to be either dead or dying and they are lost in purgatory. Shits creepy.
@@Sargovine6117 it is. And not just that, but theres also a supernatural entity chasing to devour their very souls whichwill give them a fate even worse than death.
This is truly an amazing show, it’s always a fun watch whenever October rolls around. The cast was amazing and the songs are so catchy. “Patient is the Night” is my personal fav song from the show.
I remember this miniseries from 9 years ago. I enjoyed watching it so much. It touched my heart, gave me chills, and brought tears to my eyes at the same time.
I remember when this show first came out in 2014, I only watched the part where Wert goes back for Greg, and last year I was going through tough times, and this show got me through it, so every October, typically October 20, I watch 1 episode of it pure day, and I end it on Hallows Eve.
İ have to say, the beast could be something like a corrupted soul who made a deal with a demon but at a cost, his soul forever bound to the Forrest and the lantern
This show was my childhood! So, thanks, Emely, this was a nice top. Happy wednesday morning. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia to you as well.
These moments kind of make me want to see Over The Garden Wall. I'm personally writing something that I want to include the occasional spooky or unsettling moment (while keeping it rated for children).
The beast's dark form is like an almost feminine figurine but his true for is a glowing face with a torso full of souls of the children who fell from him, and became trees for him.

Wirt exposing The Beast’s lie about the lantern is easily the best moment of Wirt’s in the series
Underrated Halloween classic. Totally one of the best CN shows of the 2010s
This list made me more nostalgic than creeped out. Nice to see this show again.
This Miniseries Was One Of Cartoon Network's Greatest achievements next to Regular Show (2010-2017) wish Long Live The Royals (2015) was this good
Bro, Over the Garden Wall twist came out of fucking nowhere. Two little kids, revealed to be either dead or dying and they are lost in purgatory. Shits creepy.
if thats the case, then maybe this show should be on adult swim should it become a full-on series.

To make this even darker the ink is most likely the blood of the children turned into trees

Phenomenal series and Auntie Whispers is such a great character
They should continue this series for a new generation to enjoyed them as much as I did
This show is so beautiful that it feels like a disney cartoon rather than a CN show.
The possession scene for sure - always the scariest

this cartoon is so beautiful it makes me cry and my heart melts everytime I watch it. An unforgetable experience indeed.

The beast has to be the most disturbing CN (if not most disturbing cartoon) cartoon villain of all time.
İ have to say, the beast could be something like a corrupted soul who made a deal with a demon but at a cost, his soul forever bound to the Forrest and the lantern
