      Great tips. How about heavy grass lakes. Any tips on presentation in the grass?

    You’re absolutely right about swimming an easy shiner on a drop shot. If you’re in current sometimes you do absolutely nothing with it besides keep a tight line and reel it forward every now n then I’ve had days catching 20-30-40 walleye a day sometimes even consecutively, I mean 30-40 consecutively doing that in current, at a spillway, standing in a 20ft seawall casting down into maybe 7-10ft.sometimes more....the 4” ones you can get away with doing the do nothing technique, but the smaller ones excel in it. Another fun fact is the absolute only color you need is Green pumpkin. LMB, SMB, walleye …I have racks of easy shiners and green pumpkin keitech baits. Only I prefer reaction baits if I can get away w it

    If you fish a drop shot from the bank do you need to take into consideration the angle from you to the weight when determining leader length?

    • @gregchilders7643
      @gregchilders7643 15 дней назад +1

      Yes. I usually run a longer leader . This technique is great for very windy days .I just use a larger weight and even though you will have a bow in your line the fish will uslly hook themselves due to the open hook or you will feel the weight get heavier on the retrieve

    • @robertbrost7777
      @robertbrost7777 15 дней назад

      Yes. But, remember that the longer leader is going to be much tougher to cast and, your distance on your cast will suffer.

      @@robertbrost7777 This is when I go to a spinning outfit 7ft rod and if it's 20+mph I have a 8ft rod if there is no obstacles behind me to cast

      No,I bank fish all the time and love drop shot example my pond is 9ft deep if I’m fishing shallow water 1-4 ft deep il usually do 6” if I’m fishing 4-8” I’ll do 2-3 feet

    Talk about line cuts .. I was fighting a 30lb bluefin and my reel was coming loose, I asked the deckhand if he could try to tighten it real fast. Instead he for some reason wrapped my line around his hand and tried hand lining my fish.. 65lb braid and an angry tuna nearly took his hand off.

    I think dragging the bait has caught me more bass. It makes the bait look way more natural and often it's the only way to get the bait to be horizontal.

    Tyler and others, what are your things you do to protect from sun when on the water? I wear a full sunshirt with hood that is SPF as well as gloves and sunscreen and a hat. What other things can you do to protect against sun damage? Sorry not a drop shot question.

    Ever use a ned or swimbait/jighead as your drop shot weight?

    • @jasoncho8649
      @jasoncho8649 16 дней назад

      I’ve fished a kvd ned ocho wacky style on a short leader drop shot and it worked well for me. Something about vibration it causes drive them crazy but again it’s situational. I think I was throwing in a shady tunnel with very little wind and water clarity was ok not super clear

    When Its hard getting bit on a drop- i try to hold it steady; then give a slo lift n drop every once in a while. Yeah; slo swimming that easy shiner- yeah; that's money for me on smallies.
