From New Line Cinema comes “Shazam! Fury of the Gods,” which continues the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “SHAZAM!,” is transformed into his adult Super Hero alter ego, Shazam. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” stars returning cast members Zachary Levi (“Thor: Ragnarok”) as Shazam; Asher Angel (“Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson; Jack Dylan Grazer (“It Chapter Two”) as Freddy Freeman; Adam Brody (“Promising Young Woman”) as Super Hero Freddy; Ross Butler (“Raya and the Last Dragon”) as Super Hero Eugene; Meagan Good (“Day Shift”) as Super Hero Darla; D.J. Cotrona (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation”) as Super Hero Pedro; Grace Caroline Currey (“Annabelle: Creation”) as Mary Bromfield / Super Hero Mary; Faithe Herman (“This Is Us”) as Darla Dudley; Ian Chen (“A Dog’s Journey”) as Eugene Choi; Jovan Armand (“Second Chances”) as Pedro Pena; Marta Milans (“White Lines”) as Rosa Vasquez; Cooper Andrews (“The Walking Dead”) as Victor Vasquez; with Djimon Hounsou (“A Quiet Place Part II”) as Wizard. Joining the cast are Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”), with Lucy Liu (“Kung Fu Panda” franchise) and Helen Mirren (“F9: The Fast Saga”). The film is directed by David F. Sandberg (“Shazam!,” “Annabelle: Creation”) and produced by Peter Safran (“Aquaman,” “The Suicide Squad”). It is written by Henry Gayden (“Shazam!,” “There’s Someone Inside Your House”) and Chris Morgan (“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” “The Fate of the Furious”), based on characters from DC; Shazam! was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. Executive producers are Walter Hamada, Adam Schlagman, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Marcus Viscidi and Geoff Johns. Joining director Sandberg behind-the-camera are director of photography Gyula Pados (the “Jumanji” franchise), production designer Paul Kirby (“The Old Guard,” “Jason Bourne”) and editor Michel Aller (“Shazam!,” “The Nun”). This universe is already confirmed to be rebooted, but, I'm still gonna enjoy this as it's own movie cause I love the character of Shazam.
Because I enjoyed Both Shazam and black Adam, I hope they give this one a solid ending, instead of a cliffhanger.

It’s not confirmed. With stuff Levi and Jason Momoa have said it looks like maybe a partial reboot or maybe something else. Maybe Gunn and Saffrin keep what they worked on and reset the rest. Let’s see if it’s confirmed when James Gunn officially unveils his plan.
It could still take place in the new dceu as we don’t see Superman’s face ever or any other characters actors
I love Shazam! too, that's why I'm not watching it in theaters. Man, did I have so many expectations after watching the first movie and now the DCEU is over.
After the past couple trailers, I was not expecting them to make this an emotional movie. Making Billy struggle with whether he can do this, and also when he takes it upon himself to finish it, could make for some very good story. Excited to see it!
Yeah, it's Amazing how dc can make a superhero movie have so many emotions.
When he was offered the power the champion, Billy didn't think he was worthy of it.
That's every super hero movie though... From the first spiderman to endgame lol. Hero is like: "I don't think i can do this" then does it by the end

@@lightheart5 But it was also only a small part. He said he didn’t think anyone was “pure good” anymore. After that he went straight into enjoying the powers and misusing them. In this, it seems to be a much bigger part of the story.
That dragon fight looks so badass! And so does almost every other action sequence. Looking forward to watching the movie.

So how this movie was screwed; unless your talking about not making a third film. No one really saw the first film and it was barely profitable; this film is probably not going to make any money. So you want wb to just burn money on a franchise that no one has interest; its mine when it’s not your money. This is also coming from a Captain Marvel Fan and l loved the first film
@@weshurst4895 Explain to me how Shazam is barely profitable? Sure it only made 360 million at the box office, but that's more than triple it's budget, that's a success dude, a huge success actually.

Ok if there was any time to get hyped for a DC movie... This is it! I don't think Shazam is gonna disappoint us.

Truly, Shazam 2 looks really dope and I'm defenitely going to see it. That being said I still feel like they probably shot themselves in the foot using using obscure antagonist. The villain of choice is pretty much the foundation of the preceding hype.
Shazam and the 7 Magic Lands was an awesome run, and I wanted those to continue.
