The film is directed by David F. Sandberg (“Shazam!,” “Annabelle: Creation”) and produced by Peter Safran (“Aquaman,” “The Suicide Squad”). It is written by Henry Gayden (“Shazam!,” “There’s Someone Inside Your House”) and Chris Morgan (“Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw,” “The Fate of the Furious”), based on characters from DC; Shazam! was created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck.
Executive producers are Walter Hamada, Adam Schlagman, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Victoria Palmeri, Marcus Viscidi and Geoff Johns. Joining director Sandberg behind-the-camera are director of photography Gyula Pados (the “Jumanji” franchise), production designer Paul Kirby (“The Old Guard,” “Jason Bourne”) and editor Michel Aller (“Shazam!,” “The Nun”). I really do hope that this Shazam is kept in the new plans of James Gunn, because from all the superhero movies DC made in the last years, this adaptation not only feels accurate to the character, but it really has place to grow, in difference with the other ones that just kinda ends there.
Of course it will....it's got that marvel fun vibe and the first one made a profit...they also didn't show supermans face in the credits like the new black adam did.

I LOVE what DC is doing with their superhero movies. Each hero has a different tone and personality, so their movie should reflect that! Batman is dark, Wonder Woman is graceful, Aquaman is badass, Flash is impulsive, Superman is optimistic, and Shazam is childish.
..Since a lot of y'all been asking for Black Adam, first of all Black Adam ain't a superhero. According to the live-action movie, he's an Anti-hero. Born as a slave since 2000BC, witnessed violence & death on a regular basis so of course he won't feel remorse for the villains he has to kill. So...Black Adam is a ruthless OG!!

One thing I liked here is that they added little details to the costumes of shazam and his brothers, without it being overcrowded and not looking that simple either, so excited for this movie.
I like how they finally made Freddie a brunette. Captain Marvel, Jr. was Elvis Presley's favorite superhero. Elvis modeled some of his Vegas outfits on Captain Marvel, Jr.'s costume; and incorperated the lightning bolt into his "TCB" logo.
Really hope the lightning bolt in the suit still glows, although removing that part is understandable considering how in the actual set it kept getting broken and needed to be fixed.
This makes me actually wanna go back and watch the first one I was expecting maybe a black Adam tease but I feel that’s for the post credit scene and even still I’m super hype. Dc actually is making a promising live action superhero movie.

Love the comic book accurate costumes in the 2nd movie
I think these are goddawful. What works (kind of?) in a comic book just looks absolutely campy and stupid in live action. If this group walked into a public group it would be interpreted as pure clown activities. They look like absolute clowns.

I'm so glad Billy is still learning to control his powers, I think when you see a hero learn and grow throughout the movie that's the moment you connect with that hero as a person. Also I hope the entire team still acts like children and teenagers even after transforming like in the first movie.

This movie was so fun, 7/10 for me. Very enjoyable and I liked the comedy. Not as good as the first but still a fun movie and it had lots of action. I cried at a few parts. I love that ending, I won’t spoil who shows up for anyone who is reading this and haven’t seen the movie yet, but I loved it. And Rachel Zegler is so pretty, I loved her in the movie

I didn’t know that this person was gonna show up but I did hear it was gonna be somebody I just didn’t know who. So knowing someone will show up but not knowing who, is better than knowing who it is like a lot of people know. Enjoy the movie and have fun!

DC lost the opportunity for Superman, Black Adams and Shazam in one movie coz they cut Henry Cavill.

I thought Gunn will revitalize the DCEU, but what he did was not what I expected. Totally outrageous. I'm just so fkn sad. This might be the last proper DCEU film we'll get.

They have been rebooting recasting and cancelling since early 90s, Michael Keaton was replaced by Val Kilmer, then George Clooney and then everything was canceled. After that Brandon Routh's Superman, Keanu Reeves's Constantine, Ryan Reynolds's Green Lantern sequels were cancelled. And so is Snyderverse's Justice League with the entire cast. Nolan's Trilogy was the only exception.

The actor who's playing Billy the Kid (pun intended) will have grown older by then. Unless they can do the whole Disney let's-make-twenty-year-olds-play-teens thing...
Imagine the parallel universe where at the end of Shazam or Black Adam they end up facing each other post credits but seconds before the fight who shows up in the middle? Mark Cavill's Superman. In our current universe the best we can hope for post credits is Ezra Miller's Flash but with his head cutoff to avoid negative publicity.
The fact that Billy even questions his worthiness as a superhero only proves that he really is pure of heart like The Wizard had hoped
Sivana and Black Adam let the power get into their heads and would've never even considered giving it up
EDIT: Well, turns out there's at least one circumstance that would make Black Adam relinquish his power

I remember first watching this trailer and being so hyped. I knew it would be fun to see Shazam back in action and having watched the film by now. I can confirm I was right. Also, that music is an absolute banger.
I love how the DCEU is once again strengthening its continuity. Shazam! 2 addressing ZSJL, the Peacemaker JL cameos, Ben Affleck returning in The Flash, it all feels much more cohesive than a couple years ago.
Now if they could add Superman back into the mix...

The only chance Superman might added back to the mix is through Black Adam movie. The Rock is indeed fighting for the right of Henry return back as Superman. Only issue with The Flash is Ezra Miller. Sucks for all the other actors involved in the film; they're being punished because the main actor keeps acting like a criminal.
@@anthonyrousseau8050 yeah, that's unfortunate. I understand its very very late to do something about it, but thankfully we won't need to worry about Miller after 2023. I do still have immense interest in the direction The Flash will take the franchise in. I'll be seeing in support of that.

Loving where this series is going, not every DC film should be dark & gritty... The theme of family teamwork could be played out more for other film ideas
Yes thank you for stating this. As a huge DC fan myself I LOVE the dark themes and the gritty moments in the comics and with other heroes, but it is nice to take a little more light toned path with some of their stories while still maintaining serious and dark moments. This trailer tells me it is going to be a fun movie with great character emphasis and self discovery. Excited for this and Black Adam.

It has some stale moments, probably cuz we've grown to love phase 1-3 characters, stories, moment so much and having to adjust to a change makes it kinda a hit or miss, could also be that it had already reached its peak, so for some other story, character to further raised the bar can be hard. Although I am a strong believer of "too much of a good thing can be a bad thing"...

Suicide squad and Reboot were both really shite. The Joker, Fantastic. The Batman... OK. He's meant to be the world's greatest detective but didn't even examine where the photo's were taken from. Movie plot point but rediculous from a crime scene investigators POV.

Honestly im really impressed by Zachery, when i first heard his casting I was unsure. He nailed the first movie and this trailer, what it means to be a kid in an adult body.

I'd have to agree with Parvez Khan's comment here. That was a huge issue for me in the first movie. As a kid in the first movie Billy was very serious and somber (understandable since he was an orphan looking for his mom). Then he would transform into Shazam and act all stupid and childish...huge disconnect. The two beings had no common threads even though they were the same person. That was simply the result of stupid writing and the fact that they wanted to inject humor like Marvel had started doing.
This second movie looks jam packed with overused CGI and it looks pretty crappy honestly. The first movie had horrible CGI monsters, they looked like something out of the 80's quality wise.

I've always thought Zachary was the perfect casting choice for Shazam. He's always got this quirky attitude with some of his previous movies, with the most being on his Night at The Museum movies. I've never had any doubt about his character being Shazam,and I'm not disappointed, and still isn't.
@@gravitationalmusic3037 it's easy to overlook a kid's acting than an adult's acting, simply because society has always told us time and time again that "only adults have the ability to act and be famous." Ofc this isn't true at all, and especially so with Stranger Things, this movie isn't entirely different.
Asher's acting doesn't look like the way it should be because his age pretty much parallels his character, while Levi's character don't. If you think of them not as actors but characters of the same person with a different body, that's where you see the similarities.
I legit thought this was going to come out next year!! I'm very excited, the first movie was one of the best DC movies I've seen in a long time.

There shouldve been a disclaimer saying that this was the Injustice storyline. Not knowing that information before hand ruined the entire franchise. No one wants to see a moody Clark and a wreckless Superman that cause more harm than good.

I think zachary levi as shazam is pretty amazing. But i just feel like billy’s actor(kid) and zach aren’t in sync. They feel like two different people, which they aren’t suppose to be. The kid is some how more serious and zach plays a more child like person than the kid actor.

As a marvel fan I have to say this trailer is awesome I cannot wait to watch this movie, DC nailed the first shazam movie and it looks like for the most part most of the original cast is back which is hard enough to do in a sequel marvel should take notice because lately their movies and TV series have not been good. So DC has a great opportunity and if they keep heading in this direction it won't be long before they overtake marvel.
