THE BEAT by Allen Parr Thank you!!! As a woman who has recently announced being called into the ministry of preaching, I have greatly wrestled with this. My upbringing is such that women preachers were not allowed at all. However, I knew that the Holy Spirit had guided me into this calling. It 100% was not a calling that I was thinking of doing on my own. No, I am not to be a pastor, at all. A minister? Yes! Thank you for the sound scripture references. God bless you and yours.

THE BEAT by Allen Parr I struggled with this because my grandmother Pastored after my grandfather passed... but when my uncle/ her son "came on over to the Lord's side", she passed it to him and has not interfered with how he has and is currently pastoring. However, according to scripture, I do agree wth this entire video.

Just a question though I’m confused on your definition of logic bc I thought logic wasn’t based on feelings rather it is based on facts and evidence or at least should be when used correctly. Acts 2:
16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
      17
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
      18
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
      and they will prophesy.
      19
I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
      20
The sun will be turned to darkness
      and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
      21
      And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’[c]

@@biblicalbee2082 I like what you said at the end about being brave by submitting to the word. The hard thing in the matter is a lot of women have trouble following the word of God and submitting themselves unto their own husbands as unto the Lord. And what that means as unto the Lord, is as long as their husbands are in line with the word of God and leaving her correctly according to the will of God then she can follow up under her husband's leadership which God ordained him to be the man of the home from the beginning of time.
And husbands need to love their wives enough to die for them, just like how Christ loved the church enough to DIE for them, and gave HIMSELF for us. Ephesians 5:23 25

@@celticmist14 Whether he did or did not is not a reason to cite for why women today cannot be leaders/pastors. Christ was a JEW, followed JUDAISM to a TEE going so far to wait until 30 years before he began his ministry. He did not marry but I don't see anyone using that as reason why a man should not marry today for obvious reasons. The problem today is that MANY MANY people like Mr. Parr and others here have taken Paul's instructions to the church in HIS TIME and made them LAW for our time. In the process they have done a great disservice to the body of Christ and have removed the HOLY SPIRIT as the TEACHER for us today whose job is to LEAD US INTO ALL TRUTH. Clearly there was STILL MORE TRUTH to be revealed after Christ left and I could assure you, there is still MORE TRUTH to be revealed today. See my comment above for more insight on this topic.

Bcuz people say that men have to be the head all day long but what we actually see happening in life is the opposite. Women are the head and doing everything. While men are doing nothing but chasing their egos, trying to look like strong capable men. So if the man is the head, is only bcuz a woman is casting that illusion, and even then, he is still not the head, bcuz his wife or gf is doing it all. His mother or daughter is doing it all. Women somewhere are doing it all and he is really doing nothing.

They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says.' notice how it is not his Law(mosaic or God'd Law which is capitalized and the government or roman law is not.) God has set a standard of order and an example with Adam and Eve the man Adam came/was first with or before Eve arrived that is the order and standard that we are under. not to say that a woman cannot teach she is to teach biblically to save the soul and bring to salvation that soul. like Priscilla and Aquilla but not to Shepard Gods people. if we even look at the examples of Shepards in the bible they are men that Shepard a flock or herd of people the congregation. that's the example that we have it not a position where the example or roles changes if it where God would have had it written in the Bible to tell us or show us. he has vision and fore sight. and his vision did not and has not changed we like to make things comfortable for us. even though a woman may have the gift of spreading the word she is not the Pastor of the flock of God. if she is and or was God would have told us so or had given us examples. men where sent out to lead and grow the church in the new testament

The Judge was the primary pastor/shepherd of God's people during this
time period. Full essay read time: 12 minutes free postable here
(In case the reader in unaware, the word pastor and the word
shepherd are the same word. I prefer shepherd, because it has
obvious meaning to the average person.)
Major modern English translations like the NASB use
the phrasing ...whom I commanded to shepherd My people...
In all places where I have walked with all Israel, have I spoken a word with any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd My people, saying, ‘Why have you not built Me a house of cedar?’
-excerpt 1 Chronicles 17 verse 6 NASB translation
Some believe that pastor (or shepherd), is a position that
was created in the New Covenant. This is not true. In the Old Testament
shepherds are mentioned multiple times. Often in a negative way.
      “My people have become lost sheep;
Their shepherds have led them astray.
      -excerpt Jeremiah 50
For an entire chapter on worthless shepherds, the reader may
      check out Ezekiel 34.
When the shepherd over Israel died, the people went back into sin. That is because the Judge was the most important spiritual leader of this time period.
But it came about, when the judge died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways.

The same reason a man would. God calls everyone to serve him, if we don't do it, who will? Christianity is all about your relationship and connection with God, it's not based by gender at all. Which ever way you choose to serve God, he supports you. No where does it say women can't preach, or men have to preach. It's based on the male led society in thoes days, that's why we assume men have to lead the church.this is really based on the fact that can women preach to men? Because in the video, the man gave an example she can preach over the children's church, or a live session, etc. But not in a senior pastor church or congragation. So what is it? Can women preach , but not to men, or is it that women can't preach at all? until God himself a says women can't preach, that's when I'll change my mind. God gives both men and women gifts to serve him in any way and if thoes gifts happen to be to preach, so be it.

@@Galatians360 Albert of course I know God doesn't value women any less, but the fact that Adam was created first, and women second, doesn't have anything to do with how the church is ordered. Women aren't " acting like men" when they preach they are just doing what anyone would do. God has order and gives specific orders in the Bible, however he never mentioned that women should not preach. There is a place in the Bible where it says women should be silent, but that was from that scriptures writers understanding ( I think Peter). Ok if women should be silent, then how come women can preach in children's churches, that's contradictions your own words!!!!! Btw just because Satan approaches even first and was persuaded and tricked, is PURE HUMAN NATURE. if someone told you to not eat something, but didn't tell u why, or anything about it, its PURE HUMAN NATURE TO BE CURIOUS. Heck even also persuaded Adam to eat it too so what do u say about that. I appreciate your side of the argument, but u gave no viable eveidence to counter what I said.

@@Galatians360 I respect your opinion, but in order to be a pastor, you must preach as we all know. Of course women can preach, but they can also pastor. I am not anywhere trying to put words in your mouth, but the Bible is very clear about how things are supposed to run. And God doesn't joke about the church, therefore he wouldve been extremely specific on who he wanted to lead and preach the church. But he wasn't, because it doesn't matter what gender does, it's about the word you are learning, not who's mouth it comes from. All female pastors were called from God to lead Thier church. Trust me if God didn't want women to preach eh would've said so, and would've told thoes female pastors otherwise 😊

Actually, the position of senior pastor is not even scriptural. The bible states clearly that there are to be more than one elder leading the flock.
    ELDERS SHOULD SHEPHERD GOD’S FLOCK.
(Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 5:2.) The word “shepherd” is the same as “pastor.” The work of pastoring is shared by the elders. It is impossible for one man to adequately pastor a church this large. The ministry of pastoring involves doing what a shepherd does for his sheep: He knows them (John 10:14); he leads them (John 10:3-4); he feeds them and guides them into the rich pastures of God’s Word (John 10:9; 1 Thess. 5:12; Titus 1:9; Heb. 13:7); he guards them from wolves (John 10:12; Acts 20:29-30); he seeks the lost and straying sheep and helps heal their wounds by getting them restored to the Lord (John 10:16; Ezek. 34:4-5); he corrects the erring or rebellious (2 Tim. 4:2); he equips the flock for maturity so that they can serve the Lord as He has gifted them (Eph. 4:11-16).

One issue I have is, when a man needs counsel, how can he go to a woman pastor? I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. A man would be better off talking to his wife, rather than to another woman, especially one who has not been called or qualified to be a pastor which no women is. There is a woman "pastor" at our church and I cringe every time she gets up before the congregation. Beside the fact that I Timothy 2 says it is not allowed for women to preach, I Corinthians 14:35 says it is disgraceful or shameful. Enough said.

I have a postable short essay on Deborah (the Judge).
I believe the gender matter was settled with her. God
wanted to do that early on. Even before the people sinned
and asked for a king, that is a man, to rule over them. So
even before God was 'rejected', as the scriptures say:
...but they have rejected Me from being King over them.

"I feel" is confirmed by the Holy Spirit if it is the truth. Too many look at the man, and judge him wrong, yet he's right. Does anyone ask God anymore, or do they think their study will yield the truth? You should, for God knows.

Where does God specifically say a woman should not be a pastor. If you're sure of what you're saying why give conditions. Paul may have applied circumspection to make his recommendations.

  • @SamsquanchShenanigans

My question is, if it’s widely known and widely recognized that it’s not uncommon for a woman to possess a stronger pastoral ability as you mentioned, why do we get back into the legalistic version of Christianity after Jesus is comes, dies, and is resurrected? All spiritual gifts are given by God and God alone so the point I struggle with is hearing God gives His gifts out, we recognize some women would be the best fit for a pastoral position, yet because she’s not a man we politely decline her from being a pastor. If we are all called to be ambassadors for Christ and we see clear evidence a woman has this unique gift that not everyone possess, why try and silence that gift and/or minimize the reach of said gift by putting her in a Sunday school classroom instead? Why do we symbolize a pulpit as a position of authority but standing in front of a class of the same exact people a lesser authority? Makes no sense to me. If a woman can go out and preach the gospel and convert non believers why is that fantastic but the moment she passes through the doorway of a specific building she needs to keep that message within the confines of person to person instead of person to group? It’s just strange to me we allow them to do exactly what a pastor does in every sense of the meaning except give them the title….

The Judges were pastors. Deborah was a Judge over Israel.
I suggest my short and free essay on her. It always goes back
      to her in my opinion.
      ____________________________________________________
      Complementarianism
That false and confusing teaching, that states Christian women are less than
Christian men in a spiritual way, but they really aren't, but they really are.
The complementarian teaching prohibits a Christian woman from holding
certain positions in a church. They can't be elders neither can
they teach men. So why is that?
The false teaching makes it clear that the priesthood of the New Covenant
is tiered. There is a hierarchy. Those that are higher, the men, can be in
leadership positions, like elder. They can teach other men. Those in the
lower tier can not be in leadership positions, like elder. They are prohibited
from teaching men, because the men are in the higher tier. It wouldn't make
      any sense.
A new believer is automatically assigned their level, higher or lower,
at the moment of salvation, as a birthright. Their gender determines
their tier. A Christian can not move to a higher or lower tier.
A Christian that is in the lower tier (woman) is not allowed to
complain of the tier she was placed in. That would be sin, because
God made her a woman by His choice. She should accept and also
embrace her position in the lower tier.
A church, is either a group of Christian men or a group of Christian men and women.
A church can never be a group of Christian women, because it would be
a group of only those in the lower tier. It would have no elders.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
      -excerpt 1 Peter 2
Since the teaching states that women are spiritually inferior to men, but
they aren't, but they are, when did that start?
But I do not allow a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve. And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a wrongdoer.
      -excerpt 1 Timothy 2
It started with the first woman. She was deceived, and sinned because of it. So we
have a teaching that accepts that men and women are fallen beings. Both genders
are sinful by nature. However women are different. They are lacking the ability
that men have to judge if some situation, some concept or teaching is sinful. This
inability was passed down from Eve to all women. It remains to this day. A woman
in our time was 'lacking' from birth, even from the womb.
So what can be done? Nothing according to Complementarianism. That is because
an anointing of that powerful masculine being called the Holy Spirit, is just not
sufficient. Even the Holy Spirit can not elevate even one Christian woman to the
spiritually superior level of a Christian man.

I am a Christian and have been in leadership prior to coming to our current church and I agree with what you are saying. We are in a church now that we love and recently changed hands to a female Pastor who has been in the church for a while. She is a wise woman, well educated, very humble and loving and we love her and her family. She has also been through the ringer and treated poorly by men in the church but handled it biblically though it hurt her. But my husband and I have said just about everything you have said and even the same scripture was brought up in Galatians to justify a female pastor and the OT women as well. We said the same thing as you did, but to no avail. It's hard because we do love this woman and she definitely has a gift of bringing the word to people but we have to stay with the Word. My point I gave is that if the church teaches the biblical order of God, and we are to follow that order AND follow the church as our example, then how can a woman be the head of the church yet she cannot be the head of her home. That is confusing. She cant say "I feel called to be the head of my home" and go for it. You cant do the same in church. The enemy's goal is to do opposite of God and that means reversing the order especially in the church. We see it in our society and it's in the church.

The bible is very clear on this topic. If you are saved, you should have the spirit of faith according to whats written. What is written is so. We can't get caught up in what we think, what sounds good, who we think God should use or how well she speaks. The bible is the final authority. There is absolutely no where in the bible where in the bible where a women was a pastor, bishop, elder apostle or evangelist. Some women can preach much better than a man but we shouldn't go against God because she draws the crowd and the money. If we are not willing to stick to whats written, what's the sense in carrying a book that you dont believe in? God says NO! That is the order of the church. Again, if it is written, its so. AMEN...

In Rom 16:1-16, Paul greets by name ten people he identifies as colleagues in Christian ministry. Seven of the ten are women: Phoebe, “deacon of the church of Cenchrea” (16:1) and “leader16 of many, including myself” (16:2); Junia, “outstanding among the apostles” (16:717); Prisca, “my fellow worker in Christ Jesus” (16:3; cf. Phil 4:3); and Mary, Tryphaena, Tryphosa, and Persis “worked hard in the Lord” (16:6, 12). First Corinthians 16:16 urges believers “to be subject to every fellow laborer.” First Thessalonians 5:12 identifies “those who labor among you” as “those who are over you in the Lord.” It cannot be stressed enough that Paul is not simply listing these women as believers, but as ministry leaders. Paul greets many believers in this passage, but describes as ministry leaders only ten people, and seven of those are women. The three men are Aquila, Andronicus, and Urbanus. The first two are listed with their wives, highlighting their shared authority. Paul’s naming such a high proportion of women leaders in an open society is unparalleled in the entire history of ancient Greek literature and suggests a level of female leadership in the early church exceptional for its culture.

Thank you brother Allen! I agree that women are allowed to serve in the church being in submission to God and the church leadership. However I wish to add this. When I worked in Singapore , I attended a church which had a female senior pastor, she was an American who lived in Singapore for decades and helped establish this megachurch. She was just excellent, so powerful in her messages, and a wonderful godly leader. She was an excellent example for all women, especially us younger females in the way she dressed with such modesty, in her passion for God and His people and her humility, she had a warm, caring personality. She trained the younger Singaporean pastors, and many years ago she left the church and a male senior pastor was appointed. When I lived in Beijing, I worked for a huge international church which had an American senior elder, a male - who was so difficult to work with, he gave the impression that he disapproved of non American women, I did not feel shepherded by this man, he treated me with disapproval and anger, everyone used to complain about him even his sermons lacked depth. So I think it may in some cases depend on the character and personality of female leaders in the church, their heart , passion for God and commitment to honor God and His Word- women like Paula White have absolutely no business in church leadership. But as a woman, I submit to Gods Word and choose to honor His Word. Personally, I have never had any desire to be a pastor of a church, I love building relationships with people and encouraging them, praying with them, one on one.

I would like to start by saying I appreciate your willingness to discuss difficult things. Open dialogue always brings clarity in my opinion. That being said, I would encourage you to research the original language used in some of the scripture you referenced. For example, you referenced the use of the pronoun “he” when describing the qualifications for overseers and deacons. If you look at the original Greek text, there are no pronouns used. The pronouns are simply added in to allow the verses to make more sense in the English language. I’m not suggesting translators shouldn’t use pronouns when translating, simply that those added pronouns are not a sound argument to support men only as head pastors. Also, maybe take some time to look into where the role “pastor” comes from in the New Testament, In my research I have found there are no specific examples of a head pastor in the 1st century Church. The closest roles found would be an apostle, disciple, or maybe some one that is prophesying. Women are specifically stated to fill all of these roles. (Junia, pricilla, Phillips daughters, lydia, Tabitha etc.) You could potentially argue that the role of Elders or Deacons would Translate to a head pastor, but I would be willing to bet the your Church has a separate role for elders, deacons, and pastors. (Not the mention the fact that phoebe is specially referred to as a deacon in scripture) When it comes to this topic, there is not one clear answer. It seems almost like scripture is contradicting itself, I believe it seems this way because of our limited context. In these instances I have found it helpful to read the unclear in light of the clear. There are some truths that are repeated and highlighted to many times in scripture that you can’t ignore them, I believe we should read unclear scripture in light of what’s clear. Jesus loved each of us so much have his life to be with us, when he went back to heaven he gave us the gift of his Holy Spirit. In Christ, there are no Jew nor gentile, no slave nor free, no male nor female. When you look at scripture through the undeniable lense of the gospel, things that seem to contradict each other start to make sense.

Allen, I enjoy your channel and you do a wonderful job at approaching different issues in the church. Thank you! This is a contentious subject that quite a few denominations struggle with and have capitulated to in this area. I’ve gone through Bible college at ACU and even at the university level there are those that believe it is ok for a woman to pastor. I know that you mentioned that it is your personal opinion and I’ve approached this from my personal opinion and the biblical text, in its context! Such as you do Allen. I’ve come to find that those that believe a woman can pastor say the same, it is “our”opinion that a woman can pastor and that your missing some of the history as to what the Apostle Paul was really saying about a woman’s role in the church. Unfortunately what has happened is feminism and progressive (ism) has taken a foot hold in quite a few denominations. The Apostle Paul takes it all the way back to the garden of Eden, Adam being formed first and then Eve being created from his rib and so on... It is very difficult to reach those that believe a woman can pastor even men that ordain or allow women to pastor, you cannot reason with them even with the Bible and it’s immediate context and the cannon of scripture as a whole. Anyhow great job Allen! Have a blessed day!

I can use that same garden of eden story. Man was created first. He was given the word first. He was suppose to protect first. Eve was created second. The serpent came to the younger one spiritually. Adam stood by and allowed his wife to be decieved, then when busted by God, he blamed both God and the woman. Thus the reason women were encouraged to learn the word of God deeply, and why when no man is willing to do God's work properly, God will use a Woman. Oh and God did not use a man to create His Son. Now once you all move past the SOT (sex organ theology), then some of the stupidity and apostasy many Male leaders have allowed to creep up in the garden, can start to be destroyed with the help of wise and learned women.

However, there is a group of believers who disagree (that are members of this denomination), who adhere to what God's Word says about this. Now it is said of them: Christians who disagree with this (that women may be senior pastors) should not be regarded as second-class Christians. Really? That they even have to get the word out to call those christians (me included), who adhere to the scripture, not to call them 'second class Christians'.
I don't know if my contribution is of any relevance, but it really occupies me at the moment. If not, you can just throw it away.

In the age of so much confusing misinformation it is imperative-that we study the word of God for ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to help us rightly divide the word so that we don’t misinterpret the message and mislead others. Humans in their efforts to explain interpretations of the word are flawed but the great teacher the Holy Spirit is faithful to teach us individually and guide us into the truth without error. It is amazing to see how many misinterpretations of the scriptures are stated and misunderstood. The original intent from the beginning was for men and women to be equal in the eyesight of God and men and women still are. The only deviation from that identified in the scriptures is in the marriage covenant Where in the scripture does it state that Gods men and women are equal in His eyes and can be used everywhere equally except in His church🤔. Role differences and responsibilities specifically in husband and wife relationships are clearly defined throughout the bible Remember God and Him alone has authority to use whomever He wants, when and however He wants to as long as they are willing. Consider this …how many millions of souls would and could be lost if it were not for female leaders teachers prophetess pastors and preachers. Please Study the scriptures for yourselves , pray, pray, and pray again to know the full truth of Gods word which promises to liberate us and make us free🙏

Thanks for your presentation, Allen. I love your systematic breakdown of the topic and how easy your thoughts were to follow. I wish that all the sermons we heard were as easy as this to follow. And you gave so much detail in just over ten minutes, much more than we often hear in a dozen sermons. But I have some thoughts contrary to some of what you said. I hope no-one thinks I am bashing by disagreeing.
One of the reasons why the NT does not show women in pastoral roles, and it is also the main reason why Jesus did not call women as Apostles, was that in that day women just did not have those roles. There are other people he did not call to be Apostles, like Gentiles. For the credibility of His mission as it started he chose a particular culture and was going to transform the lives of many beginning with that culture. The ministry would have been dead in the water if he started out with practices that the common person in the day saw as offensive as having Gentile or Women leaders.
Paul seems to utilize the same strategy in the NT in some places, like in Ephesians 5 - 6. When he appeals to the household order (Men, Women, Children, Slaves) he is not using a hierarchy created by God but by Aristotle who lived centuries before him. In such an understanding of the order men held absolute power in the household and prescribed duties for the others to follow. What is interesting here is that in each couplet the Apostle mentions (Husband - Wife, Parents - Children, Masters - Slaves) he puts the greater emphasis on the man as to what is prescribed by God for him. He does this very smartly, because if he merely addressed the man without speaking to the responsibilities of the others in the household, the teaching would be summarily rejected. But Paul's strategy was planting a bug in the age-old system of oppressive relationships that gave the man the power to do as he liked. By ordering a new class of relationship, and if the man (and others) complied, then the world would be a better place. It is a fantastic missionary strategy he used with Philemon, to accept again his runaway slave, Onesimus, instead of having him put to death as the law of the land required. By accepting him as a brother Philemon fulfilled the law of the love of Christ and did not go against the law of the land. Onesimus went on to become Bishop of Byzantium.
I totally agree with you that Paul was dealing with a local matter in 1 Corinthians 14. But what was that matter? The Corinthians, particularly the Jewish Christians there, were insisting on Rabbinical Law that kept women silent in religious gatherings. In 14:34-35 Paul quotes from the letter he received from the household of Chloe, as he does elsewhere in the book, and then rejects it. "What, did the word of God come to you? We have no other practice in any of the other congregations?" Nowhere else were they silencing women because this would have been going against the nature of the Gospel as outlined in Galatians 3:28.
Then there is the 1 Timothy 2 passage. Paul there is speaking to a local situation in Ephesus of a "Christian Cult" appealing to women to take charge over their situations, even if it means reversing traditional roles of the family. False teachers had wormed there way into the homes of weak-willed women (not all women) and gained control of them (2 Timothy 3:6). Many of the elements of that cult were destructive to the family and particularly to the Christian witness in the community. In such circumstances Paul appeals to the account of Adam and Eve to show what happens when the woman tries to act independently of the man. He appeals to the same story two other times in the NT and in each case he makes a different point. In Romans 5 Adam is the culprit who plunges all humanity into sin, perhaps because he was not deceived. In 2 Corinthians 11:3 he refers to the story but places all the blame on the serpent, though he does say that Eve was deceived. If the passage is teaching that women should not teach men because women are easily deceived then why should they teach other women or children? The admonition here that women should learn in silence is an admonition to anyone (man, woman and child) who wants to teach while possessing a spirit of superiority and irreverence for the things of God. Such is not compatible with the attitude God desires for His servants who will be leading others
One last point - appealing to the way I feel is not "logics" but an appeal to emotions. You asked your viewers not to do that, but in various parts of the presentation you did just that.

In the verse I have provided below, Paul clearly refers to Phebe as a "Diakonos" in Greek. I have also attached the Greek (strongs concordance) definition of the word "servant" (Diakonos) in that verse to help understand. Women can absolutely do these things, and Paul makes it clear. Hope this helps!
    Romans 16:1
[1]I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:
    Greek: διάκονος
    Transliteration: diakonos
    Pronunciation: dee-ak'-on-os
Definition: Probably from διάκω diakō (obsolete to run on errands; compare G1377); an attendant that is (generally) a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specifically a Christian teacher and pastor (technically a deacon or deaconess): - deacon minister servant.
KJV Usage: minister (20x), servant (8x), deacon (3x).
    Occurs: 31
    In verses: 29

It is important to note that there are no gender disqualifications for many of these office(s). There
are many female leaders mentioned in the Bible who operated in positions of “church”
leadership. There is a difference between Headship in the House (Family Structure) and
Headship in the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit has no gender, and in the Kingdom, we are ALL
    one.
Much of the opposition to women in ministry is based on these two passages:
“As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are
not allowed to speak but must be in submission, as the Law says. If they want to inquire about
something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to
speak in the church.” (Corinthians 14:33-35)
“A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to
have authority over a man; she must be silent.” (1 Timothy 2:11-12)
    Related verses: 1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:22-23.
As with much of the Bible, some background information is helpful for interpreting these
    passages:
Biblical-era society was very much male-dominated. The status of women was much like that of
children today -- totally subservient to the male head-of-household. It would have been
considered scandalous for a woman to take a leadership role with authority over men.
Biblical-era women were not educated and were mostly confined to domestic duties. A woman
would not have had the education needed to take a teaching role.
The young Christian communities in the Mediterranean area were already looked upon as
hotbeds of dangerous heretics by the pagan majorities. The apostle Paul and other church
leaders were very concerned about avoiding any appearance of scandal that would make a bad
impression on the people they wanted to convert to Christianity (Titus 2:3-8, 1 Corinthians
14:22-24), or worse, that could be used to justify the persecution of Christians.
Humility is an important theme throughout the New Testament. Virtue comes from obedience to
God, not from rebelling against society's norms (1 Peter 2:13-17). Thus, slaves should accept
freedom if offered, but, if not, should be obedient to their masters in all things (1 Corinthians
7:20-24, Colossians 3:22-24, 1 Peter 2:18-21). Similarly, women should not rebel against their lot in
    life (1 Peter 3:1-6).
Although he accepted that people may have different roles in society, the apostle Paul
proclaimed that all believers are equal in God's sight:
"You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ
have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor
female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed,
and heirs according to the promise." (NIV, Galatians 3:26-29)
God has used women such as Junia The Apostle (Romans 16:7). A number of women held
important positions in the early Christian churches (Acts 1:12-14, 18:24-26, 21:7-9, Romans 16:1-16).
A number of women are mentioned as leaders and prophets of Israel, including Miriam (Exodus
15:20), Deborah (Judges 4:4-5), Esther (Esther 4:15-17), Huldah (2 Kings 22:14) and Athaliah (2 Chronicles 22:10-12). If your “church” is forbidding women to lead and to preach your church is operating in the Spirit of Error.
Here is some great advice on how to increase male engagement at your church: edifythebody.org/curriculums/

Plus, Paul says, " I do not permit a woman to teach"... making a distinction between what God/Holy Spirit has said and his own standing/belief. There is no male and female when speaking from the Holy Spirit which should be the only way one preaches/teaches God's people. Therefore, there should be no issue with women pastoring a church. Also, the Messiah, Jesus is he absolute head of the church! As long as the Pastor (male/female) submits to Him and is obedient to Him there is no issue with who is physically leading the church.

      1. I would like to preach on the subject: woman's ministry. First we notice that God created man on the sixth day and in the last place, and there was no woman. Then He rested on the seventh day, in which you must see years and years. Then seeing that the man was alone, God decided to make him a helpmate. If not, in the original plan, God had not found it necessary. That is why the good reading of Genesis 2:18 is: "And Jehovah Elohim said, It is not [too] good that man should be alone; I will make him a helpmate, his like."
      2. So woman was not in the original plan of God but she is a by-product of man. Female dogs, hens and the other females are original creatures of God but it is not so with woman. That is why within each animal species, the mating takes place per period, contrarily to humans. And you will not see a dog mounting on a pregnant female. You see? Which is not the case with humans. Even an elderly woman who is already past menopause still has some sexual relations. You see? I can therefore say with respect that woman is the lowest in the creation.

Let me give y'all a quick history lesson along with some context regarding 1 Tim. 2:11-14. When this verse was written the city which it was written to was mostly worshipping a goddess named Diana ( I believe that's her name it 2am please cut me some slack😂), anyways, at this time of history, your religion made who you were, what role you would play, and what you would do. At this time this idol was worshipped by almost all this city. The particular thing about this idol is that she was the goddess of fertility. So this ment she had priestess that would preform the demonic rituals and so forth. The women running it were Greek women. Which differed from the Jew women in this city. Jew women, at this point in history, were not allowed to leave the kitchen, not allowed to enter the living room, not allowed to speak to men at anytime. And this followed in synagogues. As we all know, women and men are separated in synagogues, and in this part of history, men would sit on the first floor of the synagogue and women in the second. Again this was so different from what the Greek women had experienced their whole lives. These women were loud, outspoken, and had been raised on this culture who worshipped this idol. So the problem comes when the Greek women would convert. When they converted, they had to follow the rules that were set on place in the synagogue. Men on the bottom floor, women on top floor. When these women had questions, concern's, or even were just talking , they were extremely loud. Therefore when the letter was written, he asked them to not speak and not to participate at all. This verse has been taken out of historical context for decades. If the Bible were this cut and dry, we would have to agree with slavery, and racism. I truly appreciate everyone's opinion and interest in the Bible. But once again. It's not as cut and dry. There are historical stories and facts that come along in these texts. There are no women pastors in the NT because if there was, at that time, Jesus would have not been respected the way he was. The had to ADAPT to the culture to be able to reach the people. Yet you see Jesus talking to the women at the water well. When again in this point in history it was shamed upon to talk to a women. So much so that even the apostilles were shocked when they saw him talking to her. Yet they didn't dare to challenge what he was doing. this was a HUGE cultural no no. Yet Jesus broke that stigma. And then she went on to spread the gospel to a whole nation. Thats how our God can use women. I don't claim to be an expert on this btw. I'm just stating the historical side of the story. And I'm sorry if I missed anything it 2am lol
Message for anyone struggling with God's purpose:
If you are called to pastor you do it. No matter if your a Woman or a Man. Don't let misinterpretation stop you from following God's purpose. It might not be pastoring. It might be something completely different. Just follow what God has called you to do, and everything will find its way. He does not call you in vain. He calls you with purpose. Never forget that.

It's not about anyone's views, it's about what God wants. "Your ways are not my ways" says the Lord

Shalom beloved one, I think you did a fantastic job supporting how you view this subject, but I would like to appeal to some things that may need to be adhered to. One of the more important things here is culture. You told us not to appeal to culture, but culture is one of the principles of exegesis. Also, God operates within the confinement of a particular people group. Also you keep mentioning "senior pastor" as we know this phrase is not biblical but cultural. We know that congregations were shepherded by not just one person but by many people i.e. elders. I believe this argument comes down to conviction! If a congratulation believes (from how they view the scripture) that women can join their leadership in guiding the community by the Spirit then beautiful. On the other hand, if another congregation believes differently then so be it. Neither of the two are sining. The most important thing here is what Paul mentioned in Roman's 8:14 "be lead by the Spirit". I love you beloved one keep up the work. Shalom

Yes, There are pastors, elders and deacons mentioned in the Bible but never a "Senior Pastor". No " Senior Elders" or "Junior Elders" or "Junior Pastors" . Why make a distinction. Pastors period. I agree. I went to Seminary and was often asked if I was going to be a pastor, as if there were no other reason to go to Seminary! I agree no women pastors.
