Eh, taken as its own thing, Odyssey was a pretty fun game. Besides, I think they learned their lesson. Valhalla had a lot less missions where you fought mythical creatures. Anytime you did, it was because Eivor was having some sort of drug-induced hallucination.
@@CJ-442 I still miss the structure of the old games. There's some good things here but it feels like Ubisoft simply wants to add random quests and collectibles to pad out the map, and forget about telling a cohesive story.

@@AFanOfCinema funny how people forget that part. Or the fact that spamming the counter button was pretty much the whole combat system. Stuff like this that has improved.
Medusa wasn't the hardest boss in Odyssey it was the "ERYMANTHIAN BOAR"
I thought I was the only one who struggled sooooo much with that fight man.

@@kevincockrell8589 i beat her in one try two but mainly because i had beaten the minotaur first (also in one try) and i spammed special move chains with it to crush her minions and the rest was just a slow battle of endurance till i finally beat her

I remember fighting the Minotaur in Odyssey. At first I thought it was going to this crazy strong endgame boss fight, but it turned out to be a walk in the park. Probably because I was grinding for weapons and was a little over leveled.

Me too. I was at level 43, 3 levels higher, so i defeated him with ease.At some point i really regreted that i didn't face him on level 40 - the required. The poor minotaur didn't have even one chance to hit me.
I was 34 and shit myself for a good 30 mins
The minotaur was my favourite, always loved it in mythology anyway but it was the first creature I fought on this game and after all the fake quests you do before it it was amazing to actually see the real one there and that's honestly when the game got amazing for me
Personally, I never really liked the 3 latest games since they don't feel "assassin" enough for me, but me being a history nut who loves mythology made me give these games another shot at playing them
Im lucky enough to like both types of games in the ac franchise
I like these three better, the combat is better, the stealth is hard because u have to be good at the game, and honestly i just prefer the rpg element

Same. Don’t like the mechanics of the newer games but since I used to be a Percy Jackson fan I loved exploring oddyssey. Valhalla was good when I was discovering Norway

This is exactly why i love Origins, odyssey and Valhalla, getting to fight mythological monsters and Gods like the Cyclops and Anubis
I loved Origins because it was my son's senior year in highschool and we played it together and every week did the weekly creatures quest it was awesome now he's in college but I'll never forget that game for the great times it gave us together
I love that you brought this up because my twin brother passed away recently and some of our best memories I have was us gaming together throughout the years from our N64 and Dreamcast to sitting on my couch 13 days before he passed away we were playing Fifa together. Truly a special type of nostalgia
Medusa was definitely the hardest to defeat. Especially because she teleports everytime you attack her.

To be honest I liked the sphinx, sure she is one of the easiest mythological creatures to defeat and she killed me the first time she saw me but she was alright.
I think Minotaur was the best boss. JUST LOOK AT THIS BEAST!
I was honestly terryfied when I saw him on the screen for the first time. Like- HOLY GOD! - that was an epic cutscene to see! And that beast was pure madness and power. Absolutely epic.
Remember back in the day the hardest fight was fighting your mentor in AC1
damn remember when the only problem we encounter was avoiding being detected and finding way to parry or counter Brutes, i miss the good old days
I beat everything in odyssey pretty easily but the Minotaur was by far the hardest. I died at least 4 times my first playthrough and a couple on my second one.
Tbh Anubis gave me a hard time in origins like his patterns are pretty easy to learn and all but he killed me a few times cause I didn't know what I was getting myself into
Hades in Odyssey was also an absolute pain in the ass to beat
Bálor was difficult for me. I like to parry, so I was having trouble. And I have heard the bosses in The Dawn of Ragnorok are really difficult.
In Assassin's Creed Valhalla you can encounter an enemy in the Wrath of the Druids dlc its a creature named "Balor" i encountered him rather late in the game but he still had a LVL of 573 for me

I think he means when the AC games didn’t have all of these big tanky mythical bosses in them. I mean, sure you had the Isu but you never fought them in the earlier games. And biggest mythological beast the earlier games had was that giant squid in AC Brotherhood (and you never even fought it, it was just an Easter egg that you saw very quickly if you performed a specific action.) You (as the player) only ever fought dangerous men in them, whom sometimes had mythical (Isu) weapons.
Soooo.... Never? These games have hardly ever been "realistic."

@@noahpereira8300 except they weren't Gods, at all. It's explained in the dlc in Odyssey. Poseidon even says that they're not Gods, they're called the Isu. They're technology advanced, but people worshipped them as Gods due to what they could do.
I think Balor from Assassins creed Valhalla should be on this list somewhere.

@@masatotanaka999 i put it on nightmarish as soon as we got that update but that just gives enemies more HP and they deal more dmg.. my issue with combat is that enemies are not agressive as much as i wish they were.. when you’re fighting a group of enemies, only one of them will attack you while others watch and wait until you kill that one lol also not to mention how easy it is to stunlock enemies

Is it just me or does odyssey feel less like an assassins creed game and more like an RPG?
That is what all assassins creed games are now. Ever since Unity, I haven't felt the same about the series. Still great games though. Thankfully I am a fan of what they offer. I still miss that classic AC gameplay though.
I ask myself that all the time ever since origins. Am I playing assassin's Creed or god of war lol
That's the new direction of the series and as a fan of RPGs I welcome it.

I’m an assassins creed fan but I haven’t played origins, odyssey, nor Valhalla due to so difficult times I was going through but the games before that I played and when I heard about these mythological creatures I thought it ruined the game completely but turns out a lot of people actually liked them so maybe if I played them I might like ‘‘em just like the assassins creed games from before.
Maybe it’s the story I need to pay attention to.

one of them I enjoyed fighting was the Minotaur I fought it on my first try and beat it not without getting hit but I managed it although can also fight the Sphinx without solving the riddle to defeat it the other AC games may not have mythological creatures but to this day though those myths are used in a Power Rangers show like the mythological immortal firebird like the Phoenix to the Minotaur are used as names in the Power Rangers Mystic Force show with Zords called Mystic Phoenix and Mystic Minotaur

The Caledonian boar was the hardest for me. I killed the Nemean lion barehanded, like Heracles.
The minotaur terrifies me and its been hard for m3 to defend the minotaur in odyssey
Combat has come a long way. I am replaying the entire series. The HARDEST boss from the earlier days. The damn camera.
I've tried to fight steinbjorn like 7 times. Still haven't managed to kill him.
In my defence, though, I didn't know you could return to jotunheim after leaving, so.

Who is saying Medusa was a walk in a park, you literally had to put down her enemies before even landing a strike. You guys might have been playing beginner or normal.
Now that I look back at Odyssey it makes sense why a lot are on the list
Fighting the legendary animals on Valhalla was tough when under powered but once you levelled all the way up it was too easy.

KALYDONIAN BOAR. I'm still playing Odyssey so I haven't gotten to really any of these bosses, but the Kalydonian boar took so many tries, I lost count.
Cerberus is the hardest boss in AC series. Cause he's the only boss I couldn't beat in Nightmare Difficulty. Btw Medusa is the most easiest boss I've ever faced.
Fenrir was a nightmare for me. It took me 3 days to defeat

Fighting the Egyptian gods was fun
I'm surprised to not see Ramses, Nefertiti or King Tut on this list. Those Curse of the Pharaoh bosses were all difficult.
they are not mythological creatures, also they were easy. i only had difficulty and killed nefertiti on 4th or 5th time because didnt know their scheme, but learned it and all the other pharaos were easy, and also lots of dodging and an easy plan
athena's shield was a shield so clean that you could use it as a mirror. thats the only way Θησέας could kill medusa because he used the shield as a mirror so he woudn't see medusa's eyes and become a rock\stone.

I beat her on level 30 cuz I was bored af but I kept dodging and fighting took me 13 minutes but it's worth it and she was level 50 for some reason for me. It was Medusa. And I beat all them on low levels cuz etf am I gonna do

Well here's something I never thought I'd see about the Assassins Creed series. I mean seriously mythical creatures? The First Civilization was on thing, but creatures and gods of myth? I hate to say it but this is why I don't play the games anymore. Its too far removed from what it started as. We went from stealth open world with Sci-fi elements to just an open world mixed with historical fantasy. Its just weird.
Man I can't agree with u anymore. The old ac games were full of mystery and were always intrigued what would happen i still remember i was shocked where ac2 ended
Well to be fair they do explain the fantasy aspect with the isu. Like the mythical creatures were isu experiments etc. I do agree that it got rid of the mystery aspect though

Apple of eden manipulated some stuff that was planted in human body and only person with isu gens could use it. And that’s all. There is so much stuff that spear from odyssey can do it’s just weird

@@thegalacticgalaxy2078 right but that's the weird part. The Isu acting as Gods to the old civilizations makes sense, but the creatures is really what takes me out of the game. We started the series just assassinating targets and uncovering a danger greater than the Templars and that worked. It feels like Ubisoft is just using the Isu as a catch all for every myth the AC universe had in the past. But my biggest gripe is the departure from the old gameplay.
It also feels like they want to make these types of games but know the can only do it by making it an AC game. I think Valhalla and Odyssey could've stood on their own as separate titles. But I could be wrong and maybe people don't want a Norse or Greek inspired game without a familiar game series attached to it.

Quick thing about Cerberus that is way too misinformed. Heracles didn't defeat or kill Cerberus, he WAS sent to take Cerberus to Hera during his trials yes, but he didn't and couldn't kill Cerberus because Persephone would reign a thousend terrors on him, and he didn't wanna upset his uncle Hades. So Heracles asked Hades' permission to take Cerberus, just for a couple hours, and he agreed when Heracles told him that it annoy Hera a lot if Cerberus was still alive. Greek mythology is actually so fun and manic when you take the time to learn the original story
