The fight between Basim and Roshan makes sense, she believes that as a member of the hidden ones, you have died, you are no longer you. You have enslaved yourself to freedom. Darby McDevitt, the writer of AC Valhalla explained that when a sage (reincarnated first civilisation as a human) embraces their first civilisation memories, that they aren’t “taken over”, but they merely just embrace that side of themselves. Basim has all of the memories of his life as well as individual called Loki. Whether Loki is evil is another question, Odin definitely wronged Loki first (as shown in the Asgard and Jotunheim story of AC Valhalla) so him seeking revenge on them is understandable (from Lokis perspective he is avenging his children).

Therefore, to forget your past and become loyal to the Assassin Order. Basim isn't following her philosophy and is seeking to understand himself and what his dreams about the Jinni mean, which he knows he will find by unlocking the temple and uncovering its secrets. This is also why Roshan leaves the order at the end. It may not be solely this reason, however, it plays a major role in the conflict between the two.

She intentionally hid the truth from him. She should've explained outright that she had the ability to give him the answers he seeked, OR he child become a hidden one. She wanted the best of both worlds, and it was a selfish decision. Espcially considering it's one thing to pour your pain and rage into the brotherhood, it's another for the torment of your past life being personified and never go away.
