- This is a part that I have been eye balling for quite some time, the smaller upper coolant reservoir frees up SO MUCH SPACE! Shout out to Killer B Motorsports for sending this over, couldn't be happier with the fit and finish of this piece! I ran the V1 Model on my old 2007 STI and this new V2 model allows you to be able to use the reservoir with AN fittings for your own custom coolant set up if you wanted to!

The AIG/ Cobb AOS is critical to boxer life. Anything to extend block kife is glorious! A dyno tune is critical, especially daily drivers.

I bought one of those killer b coolant expansion tanks and even trimmed enough hose to allow proper fitment for the bottom hose and the hose blew at the base of it. I was never able to find an elbow shaped hose to fit bc the expansion tank is somewhat offset to the right. So what I did was removed the top mounting bolt and angle the expansion tank left to have the coolant ports to be in-line with each other. Doing it this way I believe reduces tension near the base of the hose to keep it from bursting again. Seems like offsetting the entire unit and having it mounted with one bolt is doing the tick. I think killer b messed up with the actual mounting bracket bc the ports shouldn’t be offset. They should be aligned. You’ll notice when you align the bottom barb with the coolant port the mounting brackets don’t align.
Interesting 🧐 I've had a handful of these and never had this issue, curious if thr mounting holes kn yours may have been mis drilled
Neat, tidy well laid out engine bays that improve access and provide flexibility are a thing of beauty 😍. Plastic OEM part versus precision metal by Killer Bee Motorsports it is no brainer! Something does seem missing though in that picturesque engine bay, a strut tower brace to complete your front suspension set up. Cusco will clear the IAG AOS; have that duo myself.
I wNt the OEM JDM STI brace but they've been out of stock for so long! And I've broken those OEM reservoirs so many times its nice to have one that one break and takes up much less room 😍

Was stoked for it! And not sure what pressure it is, it was the one that came with the readiator when I got it 😅
You can run 1.3 bar at the radiator, 1.1 bar at the reservoir.

That looks and fits much better than the mishimoto coolant reservoir. My mishimoto one is already rubbing into my intercooler pipe and I had to modify where it sits which doesnt look good. Dont have the killer B product, but by the looks of it I'd definitely recommend.
Its one of my favorite 🔥 their old V1 did perfect in my old Hawkeye this new one looks and fits perfectly! 😁
Definitely will look into it when I get my car back from the workshop when its done with my build 😂

Love killer b. Still debating the equal length header though 😂 no better sound than unequal lengths and catless tomei catback... the midrange power with the ELs is wild though
That it is! And the UEL sound good, but the reduced hit spotting from an ELH is really what convinced me to get one 😁
The only time I don't like the Killer B ELH sound is with certain setups on dual exit exhaust systems. I don't know if it's the raspy-ness or some weird resonance that makes it sound off to me. I'm interested to see how it sounds on my setup when they come in. :D

I don't know if its just me, but I had 2 mishimoto radiator caps fail. They leaked fluid. That is a sweet piece tho!
Have ahad a few people say the same, ordering a new cap today 😅
@@Smeedia smart man.. I ended up going with the cobb cap. Its a tight fit no wobbling around, and the best part it hasn't leaked lol.
Looks nice. I might get the red. To much black in the engine bay and one red part which is the intake.

I'm not sure they should be using brass fittings on an aluminum motor/radiator.
I'd love to find a very small windshield washer tank like that. I don't even run the wipers unless i go on a long drive.
I think killer B makes a duel res for coolant and windsheild fluid that looks pretty good!

I’ve read on forums the upper coolant tank helps continue to cool the turbo after the engine is shut off. I take forums with a grain of salt but I do wonder why Subaru would make it that size unless it served a purpose.
The coolant will continue to flow through the res after the car has been shut off, from what I gathered it just serves as a junction point for multiple areas to be able to receive flowing coolant from

Not needed unless you have a turbo that does not flow coolant though it 😅

It shludlent as it continues to flow coolant, these are more of a distribution center for coolant to spread out

Is burping the system necessary? And did you use oem coolant to top off?
Yessir OEM coolant, and it doesn't hurt, a small burp should purge any air out

I've got a few videos doing it, but just burp it from the upper coolant res with the heat on full blast

The reservoir looks great except the two hoses coming out the side. It looks like it needs some management there. It's kinda drives me crazy that there is 2 hoses dangling with unnecessary bends out front. Perhaps instead of the two nipple going to passenger side ...make two optional front ones with plugs in them. That way we can run those small hoses shorter and cleaner.
Going to be removing the OE hoses and cleaning it up, just need to get some hose. But I agree the OEM hoses are a little dangly and floppy 😅
@@Smeedia I recommend going with aftermarket silicone strengthened hoses you can get them straight in a bulk roll. They are more durable and resist heat better. Big plus they also look nice if you so happen to have any still showing out in the open. Ohhhhhh yeah cool colors too but personally I like black there's no need for attention for dinky hoses.

I see you still had oem pressure cap on a aftermarket radiator but you were using a Mishimoto cap on expansion tank. What cap would I need to get or options if i do that slimmed resevoir? Did you see any improvements in cooling reliability from that mod?
No reap benefits aside from clearing room for a rotated set up, ideally you'd take the after market cap and swap it to the upper exspansion tank 🔥
@@Smeedia Well Im still back and forth testing oem cap on my aftermarket csf radiator vs oem. I did a WOT high speed with the OEm 1 way pressuree cap and got to 223 degrees on coolanrt. Mind you im also using 1 bottle of royal purple ICE in the subaru blue coolant. Ive been trying alot of different things after installing the aftermarket csf radiator trying to get consistency. But it has also been extremly hot where I live. Im not planning rotated anytime soon so I think I will do the killer b water pump housing as priority and see if that helps find better consistency numbers. Alot of research keeps telling me the 1.4 bar csf cap is intended to replace oem cap on radiator. I put oem fans back on car so that fixed stationary cooling but when i see 223 degrees doing WOT on flat roads I wonder how bad it will be for canyon driving, which is what i want to do mostly with the car is canyon spirited driving.

An is my preference, AN is a threaded fitting where barbed secures thr hose with barbs and typically require hose clamps

@@Smeedia I'd like to get around 350-400 once I get the parts. I was only considering the new intercooler for now because quite a bit of the fins are bent up. I wasn't sure if it was too big of a deal but it was concerning.
You can straighten the fina out to save some money and use the finds for other mods 😁 but for 350-400WHp youll need to swap the IC anyway so not a bad idea

@@Smeedia I was looking at the Viper Responder LC3 the LCD 2-way system. I'm not sure if that is overkill or not or if there are better systems to install. It's just one of the first ones that stood out right away.
I'll take a look at it, dont know too much about security systems outside of the fact that the OEM one only works on the drivers door 🙃

If it did not us an AN Fitting I would agree but AN fittings along are about $6-10 each so its not too bad 😅 and the tank really feeds up a good amount of room over there 🔥

If i install stage 1 and equal length header + catless downpipe do i have to go dyno tune it or use tune on accessport?
You need a custom tune for headers and if u just run a downpipe u need a stage 2 tune if u run a stage 1 Ull destroy ur motor in no time

You can get an E tune for those mods, I would not suggest the burble tune though.
Like ur boi smeedia said get a etune or go out to a shop and have pro tone only real option u have for that kind of upgrade

Blew up right as I started college so had to sell it for something newer for school. Ended up with a 2016 WRX
