    I finally evolved an Eevee I had into Vaporeon after discovering the high skill trigger chance on it! Then this video dropped! Its good to see that Vaporeon still has an advantage over Blastoise. My Vaporeon is still low level, but even then it already activated its skill 3 times today! Can't wait for it to hit 25 when it gets Skill Trigger M!

    One thing I really hope for in the future is that main skill level can increase with sleep time shared, like 1 level per 250 hours or something

    • @seda_11
      @seda_11 5 месяцев назад +1

      I think that would have some issues with making main skill level up subskills essentially worthless in the long term. They are already pretty bad for premium players but this would make them bad even for f2p
      Maybe instead it could be X hours of sleep with a pokemon gives you a main skill seed, once per pokemon?

    • @WayneWorld92
      @WayneWorld92 5 месяцев назад +1

      It might be something that has a level 7 or 8 main skill that becomes unlocked for reaching so many hours.

  • @coolspyzz

    One downside using Vap is also the relative slow base frequency (Every 50mins+). So not only you would prefer to have Skill Level Up M (FTP), you would also need helping speed M, skill trigger M and Speed of Help Nature to reach approximately 40mins or under.

    • @seda_11
      @seda_11 5 месяцев назад

      Vaporeon has a higher proc rate than a mon like say, Sylveon, to make up for its lesser speed. So I get why you might think that it needs speed, but in reality it does plenty fine with just main skill nature + skill triggers.

    • @AVuchiha

    • @Bropenings

      Vaporeon makes up for slower speed by having high powered berry (Oran). Glaceon/Umbreon even more so, and even slower.

      That's a bit too much ingredients specialist imo. That is good to save for a week to spam use your tails, but the weeks you use all 3 ingredient magnets ingredient specialists I can't see it being better than using BFS fave berry specialist instead.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +1

      even if you do run 4-5 ingredient magnet Pokemon (not recommended), the problem is ingredients are not meta because of Pot size limit every meal. Berries are meta because there is no limit to how much you can feed Snorlax. Over-farming ingredients is considerably a bad team build.

    Great in depth video, I've noticed you keep using Slaking as a reference in your videos. I'm just wondering if Slaking has a place on a team or if it's not worth the investment. Keep up the great content.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +3

      Slaking is... very interesting. I don't have first hand experience with one yet but on paper, it's weird.
      It is basically a skill specialist that naturally has BFS. Or rather a "dual" skill berry specialist but is slow. However despite being slow has high trigger on its main skill.
      On top of all that it has high ingredient rate (which is not a good thing, if you just want to focus on berries).
      I keep bringing it up because it's interesting and goes to the tops the charts on some stats, but I don't feel it is essential.

    • @seda_11
      @seda_11 5 месяцев назад +3

      Slaking is basically a better version of Vaporeon for Snowdrop. You'd want to get +skill -ing nature on it in order to bring its berry production up since it has a very high ing%. Regardless, it is a beast of a mon if you get main skill lv6.

    • @Marzbot64

      I have a level 35 Slaking with Main Skill + and EXP - nature. Level 10, 25, and 50 skills are: Berry Finding S, Skill Trigger M, and Helping Speed M. Yes it is a naturally slower Pokémon but my Slaking consistently triggers 4-6 times per day. I have stopped running ingredient specialist and only run slaking and berry specialist and still fill up my 45 pot size every meal. If you have a good option to invest I would truly recommend Slaking. I also have its main skill up to level 5 and it is such a good team member

    • @seda_11
      @seda_11 5 месяцев назад +1

      One note here at 11:30, the calc you are using already accounts for their frequency when it gives you that skill number. Essentially you can do: 3622.17/3246.16 = 1.1158 -> Vaporeon procs ~11.58% more per day than Slaking. If you want to see the actually trigger % by species then you need to select that option in the filter instead.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I'm aware, but when I talk about speed it's not just about skill procs. If skill trigger value is higher, but the pokemon were slower, then the reduced berry production is a concern too, since berries are meta. Considering the 2x berries on Slaking compared to 1x on Vaporeon, Slaking would be doubly as fast in strength terms despite being slower. Particularly more important when we compare the favorite berry typing of CB vs SDT when choosing between these 2.

    • @seda_11
      @seda_11 5 месяцев назад

      @@Bropenings Gotcha, wasn't sure if you knew or not so seemed worth mentioning, might have been helpful for other people to know too. And yeah Slaking is pretty OP on Tundra even with the slower frequency because of the double berries, BFS + trigger would be the dream tho

    Lol omg ignore my comment I should've finished the video before I commented 😂
    Can you make a video on the pros and cons of evolving vigoroth into slaking? I was reading on Reddit that it's better to not evolve due to slaking being slower?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +2

      The general consensus is:
      Stay as Vigoroth - if the subskills & nature boost its berry roduction.
      Evolve to Slaking - if the subskills & nature boost its skill trigger.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah unfortunately Venusaur, being not a skill specialist, has inherently low skill trigger rate. So even if you stack all the skill triggers into it, it'll still be worse than a half decent Vaporeon. You can use skill trigger analysis to see how big a difference you'd expect to see on RaenonX calculator.
      However if all the other stats on the Venusaur are good, then there's no harm to keep using it.

  • @zombiejlt1

    I am going to consider this option. I have not gotten any good Slowpokes and I was hoping not to waste candies just to unlock Slowpoke tail, but I may have to. I use an ingredient magnet Eevee for Snowdrop so I may just use her or if I get another good Eevee evolve it since I do have a good Oran berry farmer either.
    So any mix of Berry Finding, Skill Trigger, Skill Level, Helping Bonus skill are what we should use along with a Skill Up nature?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +2

      Berry Finding S should be reserved for areas you need to build for (e.g. Glaceon for Snowdrop). If you are after a generalized skill specialist specifically to farm rare ingredients, you should consider more skill focussed instead. STM+STS+MSC up nature would be a good start.

    what if someone makes a new acc with almost no ingredients (like 1 or 2) and just grinds slowpoke till 30 to unlock tails

    would that be viable?

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +1

      THEORETICALLY, yes that would provide more tails. However when will this account ever unlock other ingredients? Does this account never want to make other dishes?
      When you eventually run out of tails (you will, the rate of tails consumption is higher than can be farmed), what dish will you make then?
      If you unlock only tail ingredient, then there is a 1/12 chance of ing magnet/ticket giving tails.
      If you unlock all rare ingredients, then there is a 4/15 chance of ing magnet/ticket giving rare ingredients.
      Versatility lies with unlocking all ingredients.

    Definitely shouldn't prioritize Glaceon. I'm closing in on Lv30 and I don't even have enough sleep styles registered for SDT, let alone that I should pe prioritizing the Eeveelution to level up there. Vaporeon, Jolteon, and even better, Sylveon are far more interesting before all that.

      Sylveon is very slightly better than Wigglytuff. But if you invest in a Sylveon, what will you do with all the Jiggly candies?
      I would much prefer dumping Jiggly candies to make a good L50 Wigglytuff than sharing all the Eevee candies with a Sylveon that will stay at L25 because of lack of candies.

    • @Bropenings
      @Bropenings  5 месяцев назад +1

      Glaceon is a priority if you can get a BFS one, for snowdrop team building. This was the recommendation before the Holiday event that gave us: Spheal candies & Snovers.
      However the lack of snowdrop coverage is still a concern so having a powerful glaceon is a priority for team building purposes. If you are purely talking about skill purposes, then vaporeon vs glaceon depends on whether your main pokemon over-farms ingredients.
