1. The animators deserve SO much credit for this scene! Riverdance is likely difficult to animate on its own but having to accommodate different anatomy and still work must have been hell to figure out. 2. I have zero context for what is going on but I am extremely charmed by the riverdancing deer XD Amazing characterization without words or even context, I can tell what they're like just from this scene and I love it!
What I find so cool and very creative is the integration of the sound of hoof on stone with the taps on wood. It adds a whole new, somewhat original feel to it.
I love how the deer don't know who these kids are. They're just doing their thing when the boss walks up, puts a couple kids in the middle with saying anything and they all form dance circles around the kids.
The deer king certainly knows the girl, so I think they were trying to impress Keegan, or they just happened to be in the middle of the performance lmao
Growing up Irish traditional music was pushed into an almost underground movement due to the more popular pop/punk and other music types but thanks to Riverdance it is undergoing a new well deserved revival and I am one happy Irishman now 😀
This is amazing, hilarious, and slightly concerning without context. I will say though, they got the animations super close to the actual steps. Riverdance is already hard enough as it is. Props to the animators
It's amazing and captivity that they dance in sync. It's like they completely knew that I would dance to this beat. Riverdance will never leave its culture behind.
There are so many animated 'Riverdances' about, and every one is a stunning gem. I love the idea of deer and their antlers being used. The whole genre is just amazing and I find each and every one of them have their own delight.
I started watching this scene randomly on RUclips without having heard or read anything anything the movie. I swear I had the weirdest look on my face and started looking around for a gas leak. Great animation though.
@@aussie905 Well, we cannot deny that Disney has done an outstanding job producing its latest animated films, visually speaking. I'm sure others would agree the second Frozen movie is a good example of how visually beautiful Disney movies have become. But I do believe every animation company, big or small, should have the opportunity to shine. Just my personal opinion.
@@aussie905 A fan of the classics, I see. I'm with you on that, I do believe there is magic in classic, hand-drawn animation. Why learn to cast a spell to produce fire, when technology has provided us with lighters and matches?

This movie is so pretty and the dancing is incredible but I have a few nitpicks ( I’m not Irish so maybe some of these nitpicks might have to do with that idk about Irish culture :/ ) They never explained how Moya found the river and the giant deer The design of the hunter isn’t intimidating There was this whole stigma that Keegan would have to live up to his grandpa’s expectation but that storyline dropped after the funeral scene Penny and Benny are annoying I’m sorry.. Penny’s flamenco arc could have worked if there wasn’t any cringe comedy in it The story felt a bit rushed and it didn’t make sense even for kid movies standards Am I the only one who feels like this??
I felt that way too, but considering factors like budget, I feel like they could have done more if they had more funding for the movie’s production so for what they had to work with I find this movie wonderful
The songs are originally from a theatrical performance called Riverdance, and they were composed by Bill Whelan. I suppose we can refer to these as traditional Irish music.
@@irvplotnik89 Wow, that song is beautiful! Would I be allowed to cry? Because the song reaches me deep inside. I agree with you, it shares some similarities with Heartland. Bill Whalen he composed the music for the first tour of the show.
I gotta admit, this scene was kind of weird to watch with my whole family. But the movies is fun😂
