      They were nice games, but now that every game you listed has a superior sequel/rerelease on Switch it just makes the WiiU even more irrelevant lol. I will say that the WiiU's menus and Eshop are still better than the Switch's though. The Switch UI seems very rushed and cheap in comparison to the sleek look of the WiiU menus.

      @@fixedfunshow I don't think that's purely the blame lol. And if they did say those things then they had good reason to, because there was a point in the WiiU life cycle where it got literally 0 good new games within 6-7 month periods. You get a good game, 6 months go by and all you get are Eshop games and Indies. Rinse and repeat for years until the Switch announcement.
      The support was just underwhelming compared to the support PS4 got right out of the gate. I found all that out without the media telling me, all I had to do was look at the walls at a game store. PS4 usually got a whole wall if not two walls to itself, WiiU always had only a few tiny shelves of its good games, the rest being amiibos. And no, they weren't holding back, those were all the best games the WiiU had. Good multiplatform games never made it to WiiU in any form unless they came out last gen. It felt like Nintendo expected me to play the same game for 6 months straight and be happy with that.

      The Vita was a side project for Sony. The Wii U was Nintendo's home console. They had to support it. One, it needed to fill the market while they get a replacement built. Two, if they abandoned it, it could set a dangerous prescedent, one that was responsible for Sega's demise.

      I kind of agree. It's a good game of course, but I wish they would explain more in the game. It isn't as storybased as the other 2 Xenoblade's because of the character customisation. Which I think is really sad. It feels like: You have a somewhat big part in the story, and then they never mention it again. It just has too many cliffhangers. The last affinity mission with Yelv (that was his name, right? That one blond teammate). The ending of course, why was Lao still alive and back to normal and who was that other person there? Who were that other alien race who were just really mentionend in the Art Book, why were everyone still alive when that Core-thing was destroyed? Where were all the life forms of Mira except for that blue L-guyß What's up with that none-existent language-barrier etc...
      And the potential of more non-human teammates. No Nopon (well, there was Tatsu, but he sucks...), no Manon, no Prone, no inscectguy (Orphon?) etc...

      I still say it's very unlikely given how important it is to have the map available to you on a second screen at all times. It would be very awkward and annoying to need to near constantly use a menu to access it, plus it would be unfairly dangerous to your character if you were suddenly attacked by an enemy but couldn't see it while you busy marking or analyzing the map.

    The Wii U had a lot of potential; say what you will, but it is my favorite Nintendo console. The gamepad was absurdly resilient, as opposed to the Switch that I feel like I'm going to break it in half if I put too much pressure into it; looks like cheap plastic, I'm even scared to hold it.
    The console could have been a blast of success if they experimented more with the two screen and touchpad possibilities (imagine Okami ported to it) and also had more 3rd party games.

    • @Ron_Junkman
      @Ron_Junkman 5 лет назад +4

      I mean 3rd party games could have just not used the gamepad at all. They kept saying that was why the did support it was because they didn't know what to do with it.

    • @BingBangPoe
      @BingBangPoe 5 лет назад +2

      @@Ron_Junkman They could, but on the other hand, the gamepad was a huge selling point for the Wii U. Having 3rd games designed exclusively for the Wii U with the gamepad in mind (like ZombiU, for example) in a clever way (and not just for the sake of it, like Starfox Zero) could have made the console's lifespan much longer.

    • @Chaos89P

      Not just the Gamepad. My Wii U was dropped a couple of times, and all it has is a scratch.

    • @Deadflower20xx
      @Deadflower20xx 5 лет назад +3

      Honestly the two screen idea was a bit of a flawed concept. If you remember Star Fox Zero, the main complaint was the implementation of the two screens and requiring you to use it lol. It's not like the DS where the two screens are right next to each other, you have to move your line of vision to see the other screen, which is all sorts of bad for an action game. So overall I think it was overly ambitious. Having it as a menu/map screen was nice (and really the only good usage of the 2 screen concept), but didn't help the fact it felt so bulky and heavy. The screen resolution wasn't the best either, if they had waited just a couple more years the screen could have looked better and have been a thinner controller. The tech just wasn't there yet. I will say though it was much more durable than the Switch stuff.

    • @Ron_Junkman
      @Ron_Junkman 5 лет назад

      @@BingBangPoe While that is true I just think that games that where made to be multi-platform could just not use the gamepad so the WiiU could have had a bit more of a library of games other then Nintendo made ones. So that way when a 3rd party wanted to they could make a WiiU only game.

    Fun fact about MH3U:
    In Japan, there are two pieces of equipment styled after Stands from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, specifically Crazy Diamond and Harvest.
    The hammer was based on Crazy Diamond; same name, the Stand in the hammer, and it had the ability to heal allies on impact.
    A mask for Cha-Cha and Kayamba was based on Harvest. I couldn’t really find too much on it.
    Unsurprisingly and unfortunately, they were both changed when coming out of Japan. I could only find the hammer’s change, the Majestic Scepter.
    I suspect the Harvest mask became the Cosmic mask, due to it being able to get one of your Shakalakas to pick up special coins during the quest which you could sell for some extra zenny. This ability is fairly similar to the Stand’s.

Games like Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Brothers U, Captain Toad, Tropical Freeze, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Smash Brothers, Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario 3D World. They are all games that are extremely similar or downright exactly the same as games on the Switch, most of which are under $15. And of course it can play every Wii game as well. They should of given BotW on Wii U the same treatment that they did for WW HD and TP HD, and give the Switch version HD rumble (as well as the slight resolution/performance boost that it got). But in the end they decided neither should have console exclusive features, probably due to the fact that the Wii U's exclusive feature is quite a bit more compelling in terms of gameplay, and may have taken sales away from the Switch. Even if this were the case though, I think most people would of gotten the Switch version anyway, due to the aforementioned resolution/performance boost and the Switch's portability.

      I remember hearing it was planned but the developers also had to bring it to Nintendo's newest platform (at the time, the switch) However the Wii U version would have things the switch version would not and thus look superior to the Switch version. In reality I could see why it happened but it also feels like a missed opportunity.
      On a random note BotW on the Wii U had a misprint nintendoeverything.com/wp-content/uploads/zelda-breath-of-the-wild-wii-u-box-controller-error.jpg Which on paper sounds awesome if you could use all those controllers LOL

      Back when it was supposed to only come out on the WiiU, when we got the first bit of gameplay from it, the map used to be constantly displayed on the gamepad, and you could mark areas and such in an instant.
      I believe the Sheikah Slate spells/settings would also be configurable there, since the Sheikah Slate in itself was made to resemble a gamepad

    Okay, I know that the Virtual Boy wasn't the best, but that does NOT mean you have the right to hate on the Wii U like the way you are, no matter if you're a stupid generic user, a bot, or Nathaniel Bandy. The Wii U was great and I still remember paying the money for those great Kirby games, and raging, which resulted in smashing my head into the gamepad (Mario Maker + JP, China = Rage)
    The Wii U was a big market sale, and it came to making the Switch. Where would we be without the great engine for Minecraft Wii U? What about dual screens for Nintendo Land? How about online multiplayer that wasn't laggy? If the Wii U never existed, we wouldn't be happy with what came next. The 3DS wouldn't be a whole without system compatibility to the Wii U and back; so what good would it be? We couldn't have Amiibo, and couldn't transfer to Smash Bros. Ultimate without the advanced IP. You _all_ need to think clearly about the Wii U, because without it, not much would be possible throughout time and gaming. Shame on you all.
