      I hear That !
I still remember one particular exhibition game LL-at-bat, Way back in April of 1984. I was a month away from turning 14. We played in the High-school field, which was 305, instead of the 265 distance in the Senior division LL-field. I hit the ball about 285 ft. They were playing me Very Shallow cause they didn't think that I could hit the ball more than 200 ft. I was Very Small for my age. Around 4'11 and 90 lbs soaking wet at that time. I had been lifting weights in preparation for that season though. Obviously I built some crazy tendon strength from that 2 months of pre-season weight-training. Anyway, about that ball that I hit. I only got a double out of it. Would've likely been a Home-Run in the standard Senior League LL-Field, unless that one acrobatic chubby Pirates player from the early 2010's was out there in left-field. Travis something. He robbed a Mets player of a Home-Run, back in 2012. I still remember that.

shoutout to all the kids on the team who don't get to practice after practice..who don't get that one on one coaching, or a paid coach coming to their house, or a batting cage in their backyard..the who just have god given talent and a mom who works two jobs, on her way to work, drops you off to practice with a Gatorade and a family member picks you up after. The other kids aren't better than you..they just have different circumstances impacting their success. You can shine too...you just gotta take a different road to get there.

I was at bat and I hit a hard line drive grounder that went between SS and 3B and it went to the outfield. I ran so fast and made it back to home plate while the ball was still in the outfield. On top of that, I hit my 2nd HR the same day in a later inning. Best times for me as a kid

I had a kid like that on a t-ball team. He didn't homer one, but the kid could play. He should never have been in t-ball, but was too young not to be. I had to warn other coaches when we were batting so he could get his players alert in case Tyler smoked one. He wasn't a huge kid, he just loved baseball. My wife would see him running errands with his mom and he'd have his uniform on eight hours before a game. He brought posters of his favorite players to the chain fence dugout one time and asked if I could hang them up. He was worlds better than any of the other players but you never knew it the way he interacted with teammates and opponents. Great kid.

It was so tall that he would pop it to the fence, it would hit off of the middle/top of the fence, and he would be at 2nd by the time it hit the ground. He also had enough speed to make it to home because of the outfielders bad arms as well

I remember a similar thrill when about 11 or 12 years old in 1972 or ‘73 in Iowa. We were in Catholic school but we didn’t have a full Phys Ed program so they sent us up the street to Wilson Jr High. There was no fence on the field we played on in gym class but even being a scrawny kid I cranked one over the heads of the unsuspecting outfielders. Will never forget the crack of the bat and the roar of the crowd (my teammates).
This kid had a great swing for being 7 years old.

I finally hit one over the fence in fall ball, I was 18 and it was batting practice but hey I finally hit one over. Yes I kept the ball and still have it...lol...So these little guys hitting them over I'm jealous....lol....congrats young man, you will always remember this

    "Coach Pitch TRAVEL TEAM"
Little league sure has changed a lot since I was in it like 15 years ago
My LL was considered one of the better ones in the state and in our coach pitch it was rare to even see a good hit into the outfield let alone a home run. Although I know the bat technology plays a big part but still crazy

    • @rek550

Coach pitch? COACH PITCH?!!? What the hell is that? One more reason why I went from Detroit Tiger season tickets in 1990 to never watching the game again.
