    Loved this info thank you so much for sharing! I am struggling to decide if weaning at 13 mos is too early if Im not using the cows milk to bridge the gap.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  3 года назад +2

      Not having cow milk is normal. You don't need it to bridge the gap. If you want to keep breastfeeding, I totally would. The longer you breastfeed, the longer and more protection you give babe. And with this pandemic, I would want to give the most immune strength as long as I could.

      @@DoneNaturally my pediatrician suggested weaning my 13 months old, and the reason she gave is that the longer I wait to wean, the more difficult it will become later. what’s your thought on this? I have no problem with breastfeeding her, but my pediatrician and my husband seem to think it’s better to wean off after 12 months.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  2 года назад +3

      @@danceworm Considering The American Academy of Pediatrics came out with a statement encouraging breastfeeding until a minimum of 2 years, I would not take a Pediatrician’s advice that’s not following his governing body’s research and statements.

      @@ht9763 Ok. So the “3-A-Day” from the Dairy Farmer’s of America was not a campaign. #sarcasm Check your facts. Also other counties do not have this issue of encouraging cow milk for toddlers. This is a English-speaking-countries, primarily America, issue.

    I'm still BF our 18 month old and I can't see stopping. He wakes twice in the night to nurse still. Im so tired. But I wonder if I have a low supply. I wonder often especially because I can't get milk out when I pump. Tried every flange size and a manual pump also. 😢

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  Год назад +2

      At this stage, why would you need to pump? Most ppl at this age, even if separated during the day, dont pump. And nurse when they are together. At 18mo however much you are making its enough. 18mo olds could be fully weaned and only on food and water. But yours is still nursing. It’s like a bonus round. No pressure to collect or perform as far as a certain amount of ounces. It’s the freedom zone at this point!

      No human past 1 year of age has a nutritional need for cow milk. Babies under 1y need mother’s milk or infant formula. Beyond that, they do not. And almond milks, coconut milks aka milk alternatives are not milk. They are just juice. Milk only comes from mammals. It is a family’s choice if they give a toddler any mammal milk or milk alternative past 1y, just not a nutritional need.

      Oh sweet mama. Should’ve, could’ve and would’ve (s) are the worst. We do things and we learn. It’s how life works. Maybe the congestion is related. Maybe it’s not. Don’t take that on. But if you don’t want to offer cow milk, you don’t have to. 💛

    What are your thoughts on Else Nutrition plant-based formula?

  • @MilkToBread

    I was always under the assumption it was the fat in the milk that was "essential " not gonna lie corporations have changed our diets slowly but surely

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  Год назад +1

      Yes I think the “idea” is that it is a cheap source of protein, fat and some vitamins. If quality of food is challenging for certain families that may be a better choice than what they can afford. But certainly not because humans/toddlers need it and how many other wholesome choices there are for protein, fat and vitamins. Not to mention if a toddler has access to mama-milk that is BY FAR superior. ♥️

      @Done Naturally I'm down this rabbit hole because my 20 month old is CMPI and the last thing I want to do is give him man made formula heavy metals sugar and all 🙄 I was so grateful to see this video. It brings to mind the fat scare and specifically the saturated fat scare we've been made to believe. As soon as I learned that our cells and brain are made from saturated fats and learned about the whole seed oil affects I have turned to a low carb high fat diet for my family. I haven't felt this good all my life. My boy loves his meat so protein isn't a concern. Thank you for your content!

  • @ElizabethGonzalez-vy4yo
    @ElizabethGonzalez-vy4yo 2 года назад +1

    Please don’t follow this advice, sometimes your baby is not eating 100% all his vitamins and they need protein for brain development, or if you not planning on giving your toddler whole milk, use toddler formula. I see some many kids that are on vegetarian diet and they developed very rotten teeth.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  2 года назад +8

      Toddler formula is not recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. No human needs cow milk to develop a brain. Vegetarian diets can contain great amounts of protein. “Rotten teeth” have nothing to do with someone being a vegetarian or not. Teeth health is mostly genetic with some help from brushing and flossing.
