Tip #1 is such good advice. Often times we forget that our babies are human beings with their own feelings and opinions, and we just make them do what we want them to do! 👶
I've made that mistake a few times but my baby quickly puts me in my place 😂 lol I've since learned the importance of encouragement vs force. I think most FTM make that error ❤
I eat poridge with chia seeds and banana each morning and my son (6months ) always eats a bit with me. Yesterday I made him exactly the same and he refused it. I made his some toast instead and he ate it up in minutes....i guess he wasn't in a mood..🤣 Great tips. To let your baby touch and smell the food is essential.
Thanks to your high chair video I got a good high chair from the start. My 11 month old eats almost everything I give him on the first try. I'd say 75% of the time he eats what we eat. He's like his mama and loves Mexican and Thai food!

Thank you my baby is 10 months and due to a mixture of me giving up when he doesn’t take food straight away, scared of choking, and teething I feel he’s behind with food. X
Thank God, my baby eats anything and everything we give to her, so far. 😃 I would like to know the right portions though. She’s 7 months now. I usually feed her once a day with some kind of vegetable pure (about one ounce) and once a day with cereal (one tablespoon with milk until the texture is like a pure). Is it too little? She also drinks about 7 ounces of milk, with 2 teaspoons of cereal in it, per feeding and gets 3-4 feedings per day.
Wow that was very insightful. I've been very blessed and am very grateful to have a ten month old who loves to eat and will eat anything. I've also noticed it helps when I introduce a new food to my son if he sees me eat a few spoonfuls
Thank you for this insightful content, as you always have. I will definitely try them out. My 7 month old son eats barely a full spoon. He makes a mess on his face, on the floor and on the table. He often tends to bite the other tip of the spoon than other other end which contents food. Everyone on the table always tries to fix something on him to make him eat or clean. It stresses me out. #newmominfrustration
I am an Indian and my husband a white American so I literally have a wide variety of food that i cook for us and for our 10 month old daughter. Thankfully she has been really good about eating the variety food that i offer her. When she stops eating there is literally nothing that i can do to get that last spoon of food into her mouth 😂😂😂😂. She purses her lips and doesn't open it. But i am also guilty of making her smile just so that i can shove some more food into her mouth. Looking at this video i am feeling bad that i do that. She does eat properly so there is absolutely no excuse why i should do that. I need to stop it when she cues a "enough" 😘
Thank you so much Emma .with all your tips and advices my started self feed himself and enjoying his meal time .Am enjoying the mess too .He is now holding a cup and drinking water .Amazing change .
My cardiac tot was eating almost everything under the sun with nourishing and healthy foods up until about 18 months then he started getting picky only wanting firm, crunchy foods. He would sit and eat the grains of cinnamon! Worse yet, he doesn't want to eat his lunch in daycare even though I bring it warm and fresh but would gobble it down when he comes home. He is a very sensory eater, loves eating with his hands but for a child with high calorie needs to now start to be extremely picky where he wasn't before, it is indeed stressful having to reinvent the wheel so often as conscious as I usually am, it really gets to me sometimes. Can you share some tips on transitioning into daycare /school dealing with sleep and eating? How to preserve the food textures they love after cooking hours before. Thanks dear!
Wow! Never seen so many helpful and new tips all condensed in 1 video. Thank you so much for sharing and giving an insight on this topic. Your explainations make so much sense! Best wishes from Austria, Europe
Thank you for pointing out numbers one and five. I have to restrain myself watching one particular friend who shoves food in her children’s mouths even when they turn away (sometimes because of an already full mouth). I always imagine how I would feel if I was elderly and my carer kept shoving food in my mouth especially if I was trying to indicate that I didn’t want it or still had food in my mouth. I am far past the weaning stage with 12 and 8 year olds (no idea why I watched this even lol!) but I pretty much did all that you suggest - we did baby-led weaning with both and loved it for the convenience and fact that our children are pretty adventurous with food and we never had any food battles.
After watching this video, the changes to mealtime was like night and day! I couldn't believe it! Feeding our little one solids was a huge struggle, and people kept telling me, "Sometimes that's just how it is! What's important is to keep trying!" But man, it was hard to keep motivated when after a first "bite," our son would refuse to eat anymore and fight us. But after this video, I went in with a different tactic. Started slow, let him taste, feel, look, and smell. I embraced the mess and resisted the urge to wipe his face, and after two bites, he was actively trying to get MORE! He was grabbing my hand even to guide it to his mouth, suddenly opening it and searching it out instead of pulling away. I still can't believe how vastly different mealtime was. Thank you so much!
Hi Emma! We've been following all of your tips from toys to walking to mealtimes, and they have helped us a lot in understanding and managing a newborn growing into toddlerhood! Thank you so much!! I have a question though, how do you get a 15 months baby to drink regular milk? Baby is no longer interested in formula milk and we've not had any success with regular milk either, be it giving from cup, straw or spout cup. Baby does drink water without issues from a spout cup though. We're still training baby to take water from a cup (spills everywhere 😂). Just no luck with milk and we're worried about lack of calcium and vit d. We do give baby cheese and yogurt, but there's so much of those that we could give in a day.
Hi @Kimie Rei it's great your little one is getting some fluids by drinking water. If possible I would recommend you pop into a dietician to see how much dairy a toddler needs to have per day. Your little one might be getting enough of the nutrients that milk offers in other food and doesn't necessarily need to drink milk from a cup, which might alleviate some of your worries. If you do want your little one to drink milk I would continue to offer it daily to your little one and let them become familiar with it over time.
Hi Emma! I'm an early intervention specialist in California, working with kiddos at age 3. My entire population benefits from OT interventions. We see not only splinter skills, but splinter delays across the board. Your insight has been incredibly helpful to pinpoint delays and help preschoolers catch up on missed infant/toddler milestones. Thank you! Any tips on helping food aversion stemming from autism? I'm desperate to get help to my families NOW while all the little brains are plastic!
HI @ab oblack it sounds like you are doing an amazing job to help your kiddos. It is so nice to see! Food aversion/restricted diet is very common for people with autism. I find using the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding the most helpful when trying to expand a child's food preferences, particularly for children with autism. Hopefully that helps.
YOU are amazing, Emma! Thank you! Please, help me with an advice. What should i do with my 6 months baby? he cries a lot before sleeping by almost 2 weeks, sometimes refuses breastfeeding. Can be theeth the cause?
Emma your videos are so amazing, so well produced, so clear and so useful. We can all see how high the production values are. Keep up the amazing work!
My toddler was a really good eater when he was a baby. We did baby led weaning. He used to love trying things but when he turned 2 he started getting fussy. Now mealtimes have become quite difficult because he doesn’t want to try anything new and even refuses things he used to eat. It seems like there are less and less things that he want to eat. Any tips?
Hi Katrina firstly all toddlers go through a fussy eating phases. So you are not alone. I have two videos which might help. - The first one is on the learning plate which is a great way to exposure your toddler to new food without making them stressed. Here is the link:ruclips.net/video/gf4kKfV00Yk/видео.html - The second one is on traps we often fall into with fussy eaters which can make the phase worse and what to do instead. Here is the link:ruclips.net/video/pCXF1_f401U/видео.html Hope these help!
My baby loves eating food, we've been doing BLW and I must say it's probably gone so well because I try to stay as calm as possible and let him work it out when he's gagging. My biggest setback is planning when and what to give. Your previous videos surrounding feeding have been such a fantastic help.
That's great! Staying calm is so important (but a HUGE challenge sometimes 😂), so it sounds like you're doing exactly what your little one needs. Glad it's going well!
Love this! Especially the comfortable part. My 7month loves to stand when she can and will totally push her feet against the footrest the entire mealtime! Thank you Emma!
Are you referring to letting your baby touch the food? If you present your baby with food which is prepared in a way that it is safe for them to manage then the risk of choking would be reduced significantly. So if you wanted to start with pureed food, then you would simply smear some of the pureed food on the table for your little one to see, touch and smell before you expect them to swallow a spoonful of the pureed. Does that make sense?
Generally I would introduce purees by smearing some of the puree on the table or tray and letting your little one touch it with their fingers first. Then load it up on the spoon and say "Ahhh" while bringing the spoon towards the little ones mouth (this will get them to open their mouth) and then once the spoon is in their mouth say "Mmmm. Mmmm" while smacking your lips and this will get your little one to close their lips and when they do this remove the spoon to help them clear the food off the spoon. Hope that helps!
My 11mo is weird. It can be a food that he likes and has had several times, but its almost like he will forget that he likes it until I convince him to actually taste it. Then you can see the light bulb go off of "Oh, I love this stuff!". Sadly, sometimes that means I have to break the rule of not forcing them and slip a little bit in his mouth. But if he still refuses after he tastes it, I stop.
So good now i realize that i can more play with textures and herbs 👍 i just need a few tricks what helps bei exploring food with their fingers because my girl always want to hold it and after 2 Minutes its everywhere on her face body hair 😅
Some babies just want to hold the food themselves! Cutting up the food so they are thick stick helps when they are 6 - 8 months, as they don't yet have the ability to pick up hold smaller food. As they get older their hand skills get better and they have more control and mealtimes become a little less messy!
Maybe that's why I get parents say they eat better at daycare we let them feed them self and offer help if need other than little babies so the feel the foods
Hey there, I'm wondering with the foods you want to introduce, you mentioned you can introduce curry and stuff, is it okay to introduce spice? Like if it's a Thai curry even the mild one is a little spicy would a 6 month old be okay?
I sure wish I knew this stuff when my oldest was a baby. He is 2.5 and is the pickiest eater I have ever seen in my life. He was a great eater before 12 months of age. But its like once he hit one yrs old, he stopped liking everything except Mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, fruits, and pizza. I try to provide him a nice variety of foods and he rejects them all.
Hi Emma, thanks for the video.. i just saw this video many times and don't force my son (11 months old) to eat. But sometimes I feel that he doesn't eat much. Recently he has lost so much of weight I'm very stressed about his eating because his appetite is very less. Can you please suggest me anything?
Thank you so much for your extremely helpful videos! I've found them so beneficial. I try and offer lots of interesting, flavorful foods, but my baby just grabs it and then seems upset as he squishes it in his hands. I wish he would eat more! I keep trying, but it is starting to feel like he might ever only enjoy cheerios and quesadillas. Videos like these help remind me to keep going! Truly I think the trickiest part is keeping my own anxiety in check around mealtime and I think that's what has held him back the most.
Hi Emma, My 9 month old will very often stop drinking from the bottle after about 130mls of the 240ml formula bottle. The only way to to get him to eat more is to distract him with a "Hey Bear sensory video" which is, I know, a terrible habit we've created. Is this a practice we should stop immediately or is it okay? If we didn't persist he would have just approx 500 - 550mls of formula a day (4 bottle feeds). We're still doing soft mashed foods with him which is very hit or miss too and I feel we probably should move onto a more solid /table food approach
Dear Emma many many thanks for sharing all these very helpful videos, I love your videos and follow your videosas much as possible. My boy has just turned 8 months and I have started giving him solids from 7 months onwards. I'm not sure if I'm giving him too much food or no because I offer him the food and I continue giving it to him until he's willing to have it. Is that ok or am I giving him too much??? I give him food at around midday and a piece of fruit late in the afternoon. Is it too much??? Also he doesn't sleep in his bed during the day he only likes to sleep in his pram which i adjust to the sleep position as much as I can!! Can you please advice me on this if it's safe to do or no? I try and put him to bed but he keeps waking up every 2 or 3 minutes and gets grumpy and cries then I put him in his pram and he sleeps. Waiting to hearing from you With love Masooma
Hello.. Love to listen you.. My baby is one and half year old, whenever he is in mood,, he eats well but He completely breastfeeds.. He does not intake any other milk.. I am suffering from vitamin B deficiency bcoz of breastfeed.. Please help me out how I do weaning.. He breastfeeds even after eating ample of food..
Hi @Sheerin Fatma I recommend you pop into a speech pathologist or dietician who can provide with you advice on how to wean your toddler, while ensuring he continues to get the nutrients he needs.
Our pediatrician had us add rice cereal this week, but what is a good way to sit her to feed it to her? I've been putting her in the bouncy seat since she is 4 months and isn't sitting yet.
Hi Jennifer I would recommend getting a high chair. I prefer the Tripp Trapp high chair but this is $$$. There are other high chair options like this chair which are also good. These wooden chairs have adjustable seat height and footrest height which is something you will need for years to come. It’s important your bub is sitting upright as possible - as a reclined position makes it challenging to swallow food. Given that she is 4 months and not yet sitting (expected for her age) you will need to need to use rolled up towels to make the highchair you buy supportive. I have a video with the thumbnail saying “High chair too big” which shows you exactly how to use the rolled up towels. Hope that helps!
Most nights, our 2 year old won’t eat her meal at dinner time when we’re all sitting down at 6pm but when she says she’s hungry and wants a snack later, we pull out her dinner and feed her that but it is sooo frustrating because it’s usually right before bedtime around 7:45pm. Most times she’ll eat it just fine so why won’t she eat at dinner time? We eat dinner after she wakes from her 3 hour nap so I can’t imagine she’s not hungry!
What should you do if your baby is under weight but developing well and barely eats unless with alot of distraction and some push.. but u don't want them to have long term bad associations with food but want them to be a healthy weight now
Using the BLW approach can work really well. As long as you make sure you are giving your baby foods which have been made/presented in a way which is safe for them to eat and take into account the baby's oral motor skills. For example a 6 month does not have the oral motor skills to safely eat a raw apple which has been cut into quarters. But a 6 month old should be able to manage an apple stick which has been baked or pureed apple. Hope that makes sense.
Does anyone have experience with babies who used to love a large variety of food and then started disliking certain foods fairly suddenly? like green veggies. She used to love spinach and now will painstakingly remove any speck of green from her plate.
@@EmmaHubbard Thank you so much! That calms us down a bit. Yes, she's 19 months and has been refusing many veggies for 3-4 months now. She literally went from loving spinach and carrots and all the other goodies to not liking much of it over night. But she'll eat cauliflower rice 🤷♀️ And she eats fruit and veggie fritters. So she's not about to be unhealthy or anything. We were just confused. We even introduced play veggies and all the names and she'll happily name all of them, even at the table but still keeps giving all of them back to one of us to eat :D Thanks!
I am sure I made a mistake giving him quite plain food cause I was worried spices might upset his tummy, but he actually ended up losing any interest in food 🥲 He is 2 years now and my question is, can I make it up for him or it is too late, please I need an advice
Hello, I am from Lithuania, and it is recomended to introduce one food at a time for several days (to check for allergies). is it really that important? Is it just in the beginning or with certain foods? I feel that it would take a lot of time to actually introduce many foods in the first year of life. P.S. my baby is onli 2,5 months right now, but I am already stressing out about solids 😂
Hi Emma. My 6.5mo seems to only suck solids and then throw them away. I wanted to do BLW but she just wasn’t actually eating much at all and always seemed hungry so I am using yogurts and purées most of the time now, but still giving her some solids to get used to and play with and to practice her motor skills. Is this OK? I worry she is only eating much of the same texture 😖
It is totally fine to give your little one yoghurts and purees. As you mentioned babies at this age can eat pureed food because they have the oral motor skills needed to eat this food, but they tend to play/suck with larger BLW food. By 7 months your little one should be able to safe manage mashed food and suck on meltables like toast. Honestly they progress really quickly from pureed to mashed to lumpy textures, so I would try not to worry!
Hey Emma, thank you for the great content! Your videos are always very helpful. Can you do a video on brushing teeth? My 16 month old son is lately not happy at all with this procedure 😬. Greetings from Germany!
Hi Emma, could I ask your advice on the t.v when eating. My baby, 16 months now is actually more focus to eat. He eat at a regular pace not to slow not to quick. He does notice when the texture has changed,il I tried to feed him let's say rice and veggies, he would refuse one. Could it be an exception for my baby? We started using t.v. to get him to eat more he has been in a raw of sickness, first stomach flue, the other flue, covid and now chicken pots (2 times) . We don't get him to eat but with t.v. when he is at daycare they don't use t.v. we use it at home, dinner time. Would you recommend to continue in this way? Greetings from The Netherlands:)
Yep! For example, before giving your little one pureed food on a spoon I would smear some of the puree on the table and let your little one touch the puree. This will make it more likely that your little one will accept the spoonful of food.
Hi @driftwoodkitty! These tips should definitely help. But I also have these videos which you might find helpful for the older ages. This one is about the learning plate: ruclips.net/video/gf4kKfV00Yk/видео.html and this one is about mistakes that can make picky eating worse: ruclips.net/video/pCXF1_f401U/видео.html Hope they help!
Can this work for my toddler who is 17 months old and doesn't like eating? I've been using the force feeding method to get her to at least eat some food, but it's not possible anymore.
Hi Emma... My baby is 8month old and iam a working women... My maid is giving her first meal around 1pm and and othee times only formula milk.. I returned home around 5.30pm.. I will give her dinner at 8pm... Kindly instruct me the meal timing for my baby. Iam so frustrated
The backing tune drove me nuts again when I tried trying to listen to your otherwise perfectly clear voice. I guess this is a feature of your channel and maybe others find it soothing or something. Anyway while our baby boy was asleep I showed my wife whose first language isn't English this video with sound off and subtitles on, so it worked out in the end. Great tips :D
Hi Emma, I always watch your videos my daughter is nearly 7 months now since I’m weaning her I notice she arches her back so I’m thinking okay she’s done now it’s time to get her out of the high chair but then after she plays with her food and puts the spoon with the food in her mouth lol so I let her do that and then take her out did I do the right thing?
Yep sounds like you did the right thing! Your daughter chose to the spoon in her mouth which is perfect. Allowing her the opportunity to play with the food is also great way to give her the chance to become familiar with the different tastes, textures and smell of food without the pressure to eat the food straight away.
@@EmmaHubbard thank you she archers her back while having the finger food/spoon in her mouth then when I’m trying to take her out of the chair she’s still playing with the food then I’m thinking maybe she’s uncomfortable, what do I do at this point? Do I still take her out completely or jus let her do what she wants I get confused at this point I know if she really didn’t want the food she wouldn’t be playing with it or looking at it right
Thank you so much @Emma Hubbard once again you won my heart ❤️. I'm struggling with my baby as he reduced his appetite from 2 weeks not eating properly and some of your pin points I'll try today in his dinner time. Does baby change their taste of liking same food after some times???
Hi @angel Aanna it can be really stressful when your little one stops eating or has a reduced appetite. These tips should help. Also remember it is not uncommon for babies to vary how much they eat day to day. Just remember your role is to provide the food and your little ones' role is to choose how much or if they want to eat. Also babies can stop eating a food that they previously liked, especially if they are given that food every day. If it is a food they do like, try to give it every second day to avoid your baby getting over the food.
Emma, what do you do with a now toddler who always had been eating small amounts each meal time, every day!? She is fresh and active every day but i have too much stress because she want nothing i offer or only little bit. Her curves at the doctors also not following her devolvement so i have headache every day haha
Hi! I have a video on picky eaters which covers some reasons toddlers might not eat or not eat much and what you can try and do to help which you might find helpful. Here is the link in case you would like to watch it: ruclips.net/video/pCXF1_f401U/видео.html
First a quick thank you.. I've been watching your videos since I was pregnant and now have a 6month old.. you have been so incredibly helpful and impoeyant in my journey so thank you :) Quick question: Have you managed to find any bowls that actually suckered to the triptrapp tray!!?? Nothing seems to stay put!!!
Hello. My baby is a bottle feed baby😟. May be for this reason she has less strength in her cheeks and she eats less. Please please help me giving some tips.
Bottle feeding does not generally result in a little one eating less. But the tips in this video should help get your little one comfortable eating food. If you continue to be concerned I recommend you see your baby's doctor or a paediatric speech pathologist who can see your little one in person and provide specific advice.
My 19 month old mostly wants to eat from / touch/ play with the food on my plate, regardless what he has. I deliberately share my food with him in front of him and tell him we have the same, that that is mommy’s plate but this does not help. He keeps on demanding to touch my plate. What can I do?
My doctor told me not to give my son anything but formula for the first year I listen to them now he won't even try to eat anything other than formula what do I do

Thanks so much for sharing!
That is really cool!!
I have brought a high chair today !! My baby girl is 6 months now !! Something she eats something she doesn't but m patiently waiting!! 🤗🤗
Perfect!
Emma, such an excellent video. Thank you for this high quality content.
Thanks so much!
Here is the link:ruclips.net/video/gf4kKfV00Yk/видео.html
- The second one is on traps we often fall into with fussy eaters which can make the phase worse and what to do instead. Here is the link:ruclips.net/video/pCXF1_f401U/видео.html
Hope these help!
thank you for your lovely tips. It is really helpful. You are helping us (unexperienced parents) alots.
It’s my absolute pleasure!
I have no words you are the best, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Wow, thank you!
i ran here bec im struggling to feed my 7 month old . thanks for the great tips!
Welcome!!
Thnks you so much dear Emma for yr wonderful content & video..❤
My pleasure 😊
Honestly, this video was fantastic. I’m glad I came across this video. Super informative and delightfully helpful.
Thank you so much !❤
Another great video 👍👍
Thanks a lot Emma 🙏🏻
Thank you! 😃
Thanks so much Emma for such educative videos I do follow them step by step with my six months old son
Love this! Especially the comfortable part. My 7month loves to stand when she can and will totally push her feet against the footrest the entire mealtime! Thank you Emma!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed this one :)
Your video is wonderful, but for babies who is just starting solid foods, how high is the risk of getting choked on your tip number 1?
Are you referring to letting your baby touch the food? If you present your baby with food which is prepared in a way that it is safe for them to manage then the risk of choking would be reduced significantly. So if you wanted to start with pureed food, then you would simply smear some of the pureed food on the table for your little one to see, touch and smell before you expect them to swallow a spoonful of the pureed. Does that make sense?
@@EmmaHubbard brilliant! Thank you so much, Emma!
Thanks for the video. Is music considered a distraction? Take care.
My toddler is now a super picky eater but she would eat everything when she was a baby like avocado and broccoli!
Thanks beloved. So how do you introduce purees, since they can not feel it
Generally I would introduce purees by smearing some of the puree on the table or tray and letting your little one touch it with their fingers first.
Hi Emma. I Love you videos and advises. Your videos are very informative and as help as a lot in various ways.
This is so helpful and spiritually calming, thank you thank you thank you :)
Oh that’s so nice. Thank you so much❤️
thank you soo much. you are my fave!!!
Maybe that's why I get parents say they eat better at daycare we let them feed them self and offer help if need other than little babies so the feel the foods
I also get more success at daycare because of the social modelling that is happening. Usually the children all eat together!
@@EmmaHubbard that true
Very informative as usual👌👍
Thanks!
great video, thank you
No worries at all!
Your videos are so helpful
Thank you so much for your extremely helpful videos! I've found them so beneficial. I try and offer lots of interesting, flavorful foods, but my baby just grabs it and then seems upset as he squishes it in his hands. I wish he would eat more! I keep trying, but it is starting to feel like he might ever only enjoy cheerios and quesadillas. Videos like these help remind me to keep going!
Truly I think the trickiest part is keeping my own anxiety in check around mealtime and I think that's what has held him back the most.
Mealtimes can be so stressful for us as parents. It sounds like you're doing a great job. With time your little one will start eating more food.
Waiting to hearing from you
With love
Masooma
Is there any vedio in your channel, what solid should give at the starting of solid.
Love ya, Emma! Thank u!
Thank you! ☺️. So glad you enjoyed it!
very instructive!!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Emma you have been a great help to me en my boy eat so much that i think its too much for him😂😂
Our pediatrician had us add rice cereal this week, but what is a good way to sit her to feed it to her?
Thanx so much
Most nights, our 2 year old won’t eat her meal at dinner time when we’re all sitting down at 6pm but when she says she’s hungry and wants a snack later, we pull out her dinner and feed her that but it is sooo frustrating because it’s usually right before bedtime around 7:45pm. Most times she’ll eat it just fine so why won’t she eat at dinner time? We eat dinner after she wakes from her 3 hour nap so I can’t imagine she’s not hungry!
Can you do a video on helping out little ones with clenched fists and how to help them out of this habit??
Thanks Emma
No worries at all!
What should you do if your baby is under weight but developing well and barely eats unless with alot of distraction and some push.. but u don't want them to have long term bad associations with food but want them to be a healthy weight now
I hope my baby get to do this, as a working mom, its so hard and having guilt not being able to experience this
Do you think that directly introducing solids ( the BLW concept) at 6 months is ok for babies?
Using the BLW approach can work really well. As long as you make sure you are giving your baby foods which have been made/presented in a way which is safe for them to eat and take into account the baby's oral motor skills. For example a 6 month does not have the oral motor skills to safely eat a raw apple which has been cut into quarters. But a 6 month old should be able to manage an apple stick which has been baked or pureed apple. Hope that makes sense.
Cracking up listening to this.... Can relate! Haha
Listening while scrubbing floor patch beneath highchair funnily enough!
😂
peditricians advise not to add salt or sugar in baby's food in first year of life. then how can we introduce things like curries.
Simply put, make the food WITHOUT salt/sugar
Or introduce it later.
If it is homemade i think it is safe as long as its not too much. -first time mom so i could be wrong ❤
But take out for baby and put in urs later @@marianavarrete4588
Does anyone have experience with babies who used to love a large variety of food and then started disliking certain foods fairly suddenly?
like green veggies. She used to love spinach and now will painstakingly remove any speck of green from her plate.
Hi, is your little one a toddler? If so then this is unfortunately a very common stage in toddlerhood.
We even introduced play veggies and all the names and she'll happily name all of them, even at the table but still keeps giving all of them back to one of us to eat :D
Thanks!
I am sure I made a mistake giving him quite plain food cause I was worried spices might upset his tummy, but he actually ended up losing any interest in food 🥲
He is 2 years now and my question is, can I make it up for him or it is too late, please I need an advice
Nice tips
@@EmmaHubbard thank you so much!
Hey Emma, thank you for the great content! Your videos are always very helpful. Can you do a video on brushing teeth? My 16 month old son is lately not happy at all with this procedure 😬. Greetings from Germany!
Thanks for the great suggestion!
Does this apply to babies who are still eating pureed food?
Yep! For example, before giving your little one pureed food on a spoon I would smear some of the puree on the table and let your little one touch the puree. This will make it more likely that your little one will accept the spoonful of food.
@@EmmaHubbard thank you! I'll be sure to put on her little eating poncho 😆
Omg this is so true my son would like to smell the food and feel it before eating. Thank you for the education
You are so welcome
Love your videos! I hope this helps 2 and 3 year olds too!!!
Hi @driftwoodkitty! These tips should definitely help.
But I also have these videos which you might find helpful for the older ages. This one is about the learning plate: ruclips.net/video/gf4kKfV00Yk/видео.html and this one is about mistakes that can make picky eating worse: ruclips.net/video/pCXF1_f401U/видео.html
Hope they help!
Can this work for my toddler who is 17 months old and doesn't like eating? I've been using the force feeding method to get her to at least eat some food, but it's not possible anymore.
Awesome
Dear Emma, my daughter is 26 months
Cant feed by herself, always run away and play,
Would you pls to suggest me?
I've been watching your videos since I was pregnant and now have a 6month old.. you have been so incredibly helpful and impoeyant in my journey so thank you :)
Quick question: Have you managed to find any bowls that actually suckered to the triptrapp tray!!?? Nothing seems to stay put!!!
Hello. My baby is a bottle feed baby😟. May be for this reason she has less strength in her cheeks and she eats less. Please please help me giving some tips.
My baby is bottle fed and eats a lot with solids. I don’t think this is the cause
Bottle feeding does not generally result in a little one eating less. But the tips in this video should help get your little one comfortable eating food. If you continue to be concerned I recommend you see your baby's doctor or a paediatric speech pathologist who can see your little one in person and provide specific advice.
should we offer the new food 10-20 times in a row?
Perfect timing.. doc just told us we can start trying solids! 🥰
You got this!
My 19 month old mostly wants to eat from / touch/ play with the food on my plate, regardless what he has. I deliberately share my food with him in front of him and tell him we have the same, that that is mommy’s plate but this does not help. He keeps on demanding to touch my plate. What can I do?
My doctor told me not to give my son anything but formula for the first year I listen to them now he won't even try to eat anything other than formula what do I do
my baby never likes to eat food..she will never touch or try food on her own..I have to spoon feed her. what do I do
Hopefully these tips help 🙂

But salt, suger and honey are not recommended before age 1..thwn what about all varieties of food before 1??
And no chillies as well
