    I like the shoe organizers.
I highly recommend medium-to-heavy duty hooks for the walls. I hang up everything on the walls...hats, purses, bags, drying bathing suits, drying beach covers, necklaces, my lanyard when I'm sleeping, etc. By the end of the week, we are alternating drying items off them because there is just a lack of space in the bathroom to hang things.

100% agree. Strong magnet hooks was a huge aha for me! The clutter makes me crazy. We can had all our bags, hats, jackets organized at the ready. And we each have a lanyard hook so you always know where your key card is!

When we took our cruise we used the LG.zip locks to put outfits in. Then when you take them off you put them back in the zippys. No laundry baskets... No mixing clean with dirty...works awesome..that's the only way we pack now...i love the door organizer..thanks for sharing your tips.

Wow. You did a great job organizing that room to keep it live able for the week. My wife and I have three children and usually just get a bigger suite or two cabins because I don't think I would survive a week in one cabin like that. But, you guys made it work! Nice

Fred Folson when cruising we tend to do room service breakfast so to tip the waiters we carry $1.00 coins. The waitstaff love it. All the stuff on the bathroom door is in a school pencil bag, and another school pencil bag holds all the charging wires.

This chick carries way too much stuff. My husband is disabled and I don’t pack that much stuff, but I have medical supplies packing down to a science. We board with a carry-on for clothes A beach bag with misc sun products and My backpack. For travel and excursions. All documents are in a waterproof envelope zipped tight in the beach bag for easy access at boarding. He takes many meds every day so he sets up a weeks worth and that goes into the backpack with his Med equipment. And his oxygen generator. And his ECV which he needs for mobility. Along with a rolling walker.

ATTENTION. : MOST CRUISE SHIPS DO NOT ALLOW POWER STRIPS. THEY WILL TAKE THEM AT SECURITY CHECK AND GIVE THEM BACK WHEN THE TRIP IS OVER. THE ROOM STEWARDS ARE ALSO TOLD TO REMOVE THEM IF THEY SEE THEM.

i travel the world in a small carry on - over 70+ cruises only with husband - nothing extra but i did a one month cruise with plenty of clothing for 15 days and did laundry once - my biggest problem is we go to the gym each day - i dont wear make up or fancy stuff and we go casual to the trips rather than dress up - only sneakers on my feet and a dress pair and flip flops - too old for all that and love to be carefree - hubby clothing a bit harder to cram into a small carry on - anyway good tips - im a world traveller photographer (personal not professional) and my camera and stuff are the biggest pain lol!!! over the years i have learned to downsize - life big but live simple. great tips

Your travels sound so exciting and you must have so many amazing photographs. I like to dress up on vacation since I work from home and have 3 kids that keep me busy I hardly ever have a good reason to look my best. Part of the fun for my travels is getting to be fancy. LOL! I also travel with some camera equipment for both photos and vlogging and even with minimal lenses and such it is so cumbersome. I can not find a great case that is easy to bring with me to the islands. Thanks for sharing you thoughts. Have a great weekend!

If you think you might get seasick, there are two things you should do before you leave home. 1. Ask you doctor for a prescription for the patch. They really work! 2. Take ginger chews. Ginger is an ancient remedy for nausea, and I can tell you from experience as a frequent traveler, they work! I buy them by the pound on Amazon, and they’re always in my purse or day bag. Ginger ale also helps, but many brands don’t have real ginger in them anymore, so check the label. If your ship has sushi, ask them for some fresh ginger that you can suck on.

Thanks for the tips. A great idea I got from you is the magnetic note pad. I remembered I have one of those stashed in a drawer somewhere because the fridge we've had for 13 years isn't magnetic. So that pad has been in that drawer all that time. As soon as you showed it I ran to the drawer and dug it out and put it with my table of stuff I am collecting. This is our first cruise and I am learning a lot.

People talking about you brought a lot of stuff. We pack basically like you, I had cold medicine, pain medication for adults and the kids, bandages etc. I remember how much it was to buy tylenol or a bandaid at an amusement park I didn't want to have to spend the extra money on that stuff if I needed it. We kept it in a soft lunch totes and kept it in one of the drawers. I will not travel without a over the door hanger. They are so useful, in Disney we put the kids water bottles in a cut one and hung it on the stroller. Those things are so convient and only a dollar.
That thing about the shoes is a good idea! We kept them in that spot but just piled on top of each other and kicking them around the limited floor space. We will definitely be doing that for our next cruise

    • @journeys_with_jen
      @journeys_with_jen  5 лет назад +1

mamsmith83 it is so worth it to have all of the medicine that you need just Incase. It can be so expensive on the ship and also a limited variety. I love the idea of using lunch totes to store things. Thanks for sharing that tip. Thanks so much for watching!

If you stay in one place the whole time its fine. If you backpack through europe or trying to see many things this much stuff will make you cry. I saw an american family with two large suitcases per person try to get their stuff on a train in Japan. I felt them stuggle so much on the platform. I walked briskly with my dinky carry on.

    • @aolsweetsew

I ALWAYS overpack and only regret it when lugging it to and from. Great tips! The magnets were a great idea for vertical space saving too. I'll have to remember that if we ever get to cruise again.

I LOVE packing cubes. Keeps all the clothes organized on the shelves so there are not piles of clothes falling out. Just take the cube out, put it on the shelf, done. Also makes the sad task of packing up easier. I also have a family of 4 and use different color packing cubes for each person. I love the dollar tree cubes for shoes, I will be adding those to our cruise packing.

I have no intentions of going on a cruise anytime in the next (ever) years, but your video was suggested after I searched for a review on a suitcase I was looking at to travel with for an upcoming wedding.... the point I’m taking a long time to get at is that this is somehow psychotic but beautiful, and I love every second. With the over the door shoe organizers...do you keep the stuff in them and just roll it up for packing? Or do you need to pack it separately in baggies???

I packed it separately and filled the shoe organizer once I got there. It really was pretty quick and easy to do though.

Good tips...how do you attach the large multi pocket sorter?

It came with over the door hooks. The door didn't close properly because of it though. You had to give it a good tug to close it but it worked.

Did you purchase wi-fi and if so how well did it work? Would you recommend the middle package or top package for wi-fi? I'm gonna guess that you're not able to make calls while at sea. If anyone has any recommendations please share. Thank you.

The wi-fi almost never works so I wouldn't bother with any of the packages. Wait for your island stops to connect. Thats what I did. If you ask one of the crew members they can likely tell you where to go to get the best connection.

There were hooks on the top of the organizer allowing it to hook onto the door.

Obviously I love organizing or I wouldn't be watching this, but this is overkill to me. After all, you should be having FUN on this cruise.

Teresa Harris We had an amazing and fun time on this cruise. The few minutes that I took to get organized only helped to save time during the week. No items lost or kids looking for things. Everything was in its place and easy to locate. So in all honesty it only save time in the end. Thanks so much for watching.

It doesn’t look like overkill. Getting organized in a small room makes things so much easier.

Wow Teresa, way to be rude. I love the shoe organizer idea and I think dollar tree actually sells them to...🧐.
Using that for sure. Also a notepad to leave notes and it’s always a good idea to bring a larger reusable cup for throughout the day!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video 🙂
