Sadiv sets is another way of train the skill and conditioning with the deadlift. Load 60%,set a timer for 12 mins and try to fit 20 singles inside that timeframe.
Is it normal for a person to sit down after a set and catch your breath? Im trying to get back into shape but i gotta catch my breath after a set. #help
the deck of cards. great idea. not just for power building, even for muscle building. and what not- makes it more interactive. good stuff. smoe times the mind gets stuck thinking in the ''what should i do next, if there was no plans before startng the session
Please make a video series how do you warm up for every lift, squat, bench, press and deadlift! That would be awesome!!! Thank you very much for sharing so much valuable content! Please keep going!
Omarisuf and Alan thrall brought me to to you. Have learned more than I could ever imagine. Have been inspired. Currently chasing a 600lb deadlift and I bet you’ll help me get there!!!! You’re a legend and I’m sharing your vids everywhere !!!!
Thought i would throw in a conditioning workout I did recently that I think fits the bill for this kind of thing: Do a set of pull-ups (stronger guys can do weighted ) Front carry a sandbag back and forth once Pull-ups Run the sandbag back and forth twice Pull-ups Run the sandbag back and forth three times Continue this until you can’t get the sandbag back and forth as many times as you want, then pyramid back down Finish at 10 minutes. I feel like you can really make this suck either with choice of weight or with the speed you run that bag Great video as always Brian!
I just did the burpee lateral + thruster conditioning of your private program today. That thing was extremely brutal. But I feel so fresh every time I finish the condition after my workouts. Your program is absolutely worth its money, I would have never done these by myself and I feel like becoming fitter every day
Been lifting for over 30 years never heard of the deck of cards, holy crap can't wait for my next w/o I'm going to use that for everything until I'm sick of it. Thank you.
Oh yeah......love this stuff, gonna get jacked now. Need to work a brutal set of land mines in there, it'll be a smooth transition into the burpee. Bad-ass channel right here folks. Had to sub and ring the bell!!!
I am doing 531 right now and I do my assistance exercises in giant set format, like you described in your older videos. I thought that was hard enough, but this is a different beast.
If you like 531 and the giant set format, Try doing Darkhorse to the letter..... Try, and check back here at week eight or so. Thats where i had to drop off for this time. Im going back again to Darkhorse after im done with mass builder. Fucking hell Darkhorse is hard but it fucking works. No wonder Brian is a fucking beast if thats how he trains.
@@notarandomencounter39 I was following Brian's conjugate template before I switch to 531. I would like to stick with it for at least another few months. When it is time to rethink what program to follow, I definitely would think about Dark Horse.
This has been an awesome series Brian! Thanks for all the good content that you are making. I was planning on doing a Deck og cards video, and tought it was original, but you allredey got me. Keep up the good work
Really appreciated this series, Brians. Conditioning need not be a trudge. Get in,get it done. Belabor nothing. Also like the Meditation for Meatheads segment. Definitely aids in recovery.
My core’s feeling weak, and is something I neglect due to a few injuries of course, so for three months starting eight days ago, here’s my routine: Seven day’s per week target, but if I want a day off from time to time I’ll take it. Straight Olympic Barbells only, with weights of course, no dumbbells, cables or machines. One hour per workout, starting the first set with just the bar for 15 reps and working up to a minimum of five heavy weighted reps per set, so no silly overloading for one rep max’s and to hopefully avoid further injury, doing as many sets of the same exercise as I can fit into the hour. I’ll let you know how I get on. Day 1 - Bench Press Day 2 - Squat Day 3 - Standing Shoulder Press Day 4 - Deadlift Day 5 - Close Grip Bench Day 6 - Biceps Curl Day 7 - Bent over Row
Love the Odds and Evens workout! That looks *nasty*. I'm going to try it. I really appreciate these in-the-gym conditioning videos, by the way - it's -30 C right now, so outdoor conditioning has taken a back seat.
Hi Brian thanks for your content mate, I am doing more strong man since seeing your videos and Elliot Husle's , I never got such good results as doing static farmers carries, which I guess just means I stand there holding the handles looking at the minute hand on the clock, second hand to be more specific , it is hard but awesome. Here's the kicker I'm 57 years old and I do get sore the next day after dealifts and farmer hold I shall call them, I think I need to warm down and up but I think I need a more comprehensive routine , if you have any advice on this it will be much appreciated mate ., heaps of respect from Adelaide Australia.
Thank you for your videos man ive learned so much from them although i dont do strongman stuff i do bodybuilding stuff your safety and techniques are soo good theyve made me so much better
Thank you soooo much for all your content you post, you have helped me on so many levels. Also if you dont comment on idiot comments no one Will think worse of you.
I like the odd & Even workout, seems easy enough for me to get into (if it's too hard in the beginning I run the risk of starting to skip it 3-4 weeks into my programme. I'm gonna try that one for all the main lifts.
In general with some of your conditioning what i dont get: why not start with high reps in the first minute and go down in the followig intervals with rising fatigue and form breakdown?
Its made for people who have a separated Bench, OHP, Squat and Deadlift Day so you can do it as a finisher after. But I also dont train like that so just do them whenever you like :)
His programs has a four day split where you squat and deadlift twice a week. They are really good if you havent tried them. He has provided all the pieces to do your own programming and this fits into the Conditioning-part of those programs
If you're not comfortable with an exercise, I'd always recommend doing it slowly until you get the form down so that you don't even have to think about it.
Do you do this after a normal workout (for instance 5x5) or is this the workout? Seems like this would be a good way to punish myself for eating a row of oreos.
Is this different than the assistance finishers ? i mean should i be doing : Main giantset / Secondary giantset / assistance specific finisher / then Conditioning specific work ?
Hey Brian, I have a serious question, I'm needing to know what the minimal amount of sleep I need to grow and still stay healthy, I'm running into an issue where the only time I have to lift is in the morning before work due to the fact that I have a full time job, kids, church duties and go to school. What would you say is "enough" sleep, I understand the more sleep the better but lots of sleep just wont fly right now.
Dylan Pippin I’m not Brian, but sleep is a big challenge for me these days, mostly due to family and work obligations. I’ve found that there is a distinct difference in how I feel and perform - mentally and physically - on either side of the 6 hour mark. The lower I go below 6 hours, the worse it gets, so I try to keep 6 hours as a baseline. I don’t get many chances to sleep in, but when I do, I take them.
He didn't say he was in prison. He said he thinks the deck of cards thing was started in prison. Meaning people in prison started doing it. Not that he started doing it in prison

Good morning my friend!

Yup, that sounds horrible. I love it!
This is some of the most creative workouts I've seen..cant wait to use these! Jaron from Crofton, Maryland
12:10 hilarious!!!
Keep up the good work, Brian! Be strong and courageous!
Your deadlift form is getting so much better
Awesome!!! I hate cardio! Also, hope all is well with your health, I haven’t been able to watch much lately
I personally find the deadlift WAY harder than the squat. Raise my hips when? Use my back when? Look where? Leg drive now? I'm all fucked up.
I just did the burpee lateral + thruster conditioning of your private program today. That thing was extremely brutal. But I feel so fresh every time I finish the condition after my workouts.

It also sounds like that League of Legends spell.

Love this guy. Great content and lots of fun.

Thank you for these videos! It really helps to put some exercise specific conditioning in.
7’s in 7 min 😂. Only took me 13:15. Looks like conditioning is what’s needed in my programming after working in strength for 2 years

Of course you put this out on deadlift day.... now which one do I do
My goodness that was godly.......
Hell of a intro
Great youtube channel and videos.
deck of cards sounds absolutely brutal....
cool stuff man
Brian's subliminal message
Fat = Dead
I'm just joking. Brian is too good for that.
Hey Brian! What would your advice be on replacing deadlifts with power cleans in a workout regime?
Ask Rip.
In general with some of your conditioning what i dont get: why not start with high reps in the first minute and go down in the followig intervals with rising fatigue and form breakdown?
I absolutely do that sometimes. Just not in these examples.
Cardio with weights… I like it
Damn this is exactly what i was looking for. Thank you Brian! How often do you suggest doing this? Considering the deadlift etc
Its made for people who have a separated Bench, OHP, Squat and Deadlift Day so you can do it as a finisher after. But I also dont train like that so just do them whenever you like :)

Love theses
You are so damn strong! wonder if I will be able to deadlift 300 kg some day, I am currently at 240 kg
Strength is perspective! You're very strong in my eyes.
@@mjt708 Thanks haha, I have a friend that deadlifs 260 kg at 88 kg bodyweight and I compare myself to him

I love deadlifts

I love this!! Hahaha, yes!!!

You do not want to put too much thought into your life decisions when doing deadlifts..
11:40 Brian is Gambit. Throws a card, hits a man in the gym. The man instantly dies.
This sounds like pure evil! I like it!
What would you do to help lockout ?
Rack pulls for sure. Also during normal DLs make sure you pay attention to squeezing your glutes at the lockout position
12:05 LOL
How can I help the bottom of my deadlift?
deficit, and snatch grip deadlifts worked for me
Increase quad strength and learn to use more leg drive
Thanks. Any advice with strengthening crucifix hold and front hammer hold? Please
There are tricks and techniques for all of those. Otherwise it is building strength and lactate tolerance
Thanks Brian
People dumb on CrossFit but someone who doesn’t explicitly promotes it, and does it, then turns into a god
By their own definition, I am literally doing the opposite of CrossFit.
Brian Alsruhe just clarifying, what do you perceive as their definition?
The one Greg Glassman put out for the company
Someone wants a bicep to die.....not having the arm straight is even worse. Otherwise good vid.
You are assuming my arm isn’t straight because of a sweat stain on an elbow sleeve. Watch again
