I am glad you mentioned the guitarist.. everyone just talks about Melissa.. and yeah.. a gorgeous woman with a gorgeous voice.. i get it.. but this guitarist is the real deal.. and his acoustic work is outstanding.. if you check out marching on Versailles (accustic verson) or tell me why on their live from Cologne video you will be impressed.. glad you like this band..

Same with Jinjer. Most people get them because of Tatjana, but the whole band is just so good and impressive. That bass lines, just wow.

I like the dark and gritty sound of the instruments making Melissa's voice floating above the music.
band is so great. mellisa has such a great voice. heard like 4 songs then bought 2 albums.
The more I hear Melissa sing the more I like her,and yeah that guitar player is amazing.
Their first album that came out last year, Chapter I: Monarchy, was such a huge surprise for me and I love it. "Marching On Versailles" blew me away and they definitely have some power metal elements in some songs like "I am the Storm" and "Live Before You Die". I love Melissa's voice. Enjoyed the video Tank!

The algorithm works: Just checked out Ad Infinitum's video for "Marching on Versailles", and the first suggestion under that was this video. Perfect, been looking forward to you checking them out.
There are a few other Melissa Bonny vids you should also react to soon.. like the one of her playing live in a park with a teenage girl named Martha playing the flute .. and also her "challange" requests on her peraonal RUclips channel.. Melissa is a hidden gem.. what you have seen if her is only scratching the surface.. only 28 yrs old and already in a half dozen signed bands.. the work ethic and effort alone deserves more.. she is the next Floor . "she is the next Floor" may the gods of metal hear you!! I discovered her about 5 years ago when she was in Evenmore and I instantly fell in love and follow her since. Her cleans are out of this world and her growls/screams are very good and understandable (even for me as english isn't my natural language). She is criminally unknown for now I hope Ad Infinitum will help to fix that mistake. Chapter I - Monarchy was one the best debut album I ever heard can't wait for Chapter II - Legacy.

Hey Tank, while you're reviewing female fronted bands, can you check out Seven Spires from Boston? They have a new album coming out next week on Frontier Records and I think you'd enjoy them since you've reviewed bands like Dimmu Borgir and Kamelot which they're influenced by. The singer tours with Avantasia and she has a huge range from clean to death/black metal screams. They're a young and talented upcoming band who deserves more exposure! Thank you! 🤘

On a completely different note, how about some Gideon? I would recommend "Gideon - No Love/No One" or "Gideon - Take Me". I am most certain it will be up your alley :)
Definitely really good musicians with a not only really attractive but also very capable frontwoman. As I don't necessarily consider (power) metal to be my comfort zone, my ears often have problems with the voices of some singers. But I could listen to Melissa for hours, which I actually did with the first album. I really like her balance between soft and harsh voice and the sound fits it perfectly, at least for me. I'm really looking forward to their new album!

I love ad infinitum - I've mostly been disappointed with symphonic metal releases the last few years, but Chapter I, along with everything Seven Spires has done recently, have been a breath of fresh air!
Found this channel as a Sabaton fan recently, best part binge watching have been watching the beard grow
Just downloaded Chapter one: Monarchy, and am listening to it right now. After hearing "Unstoppable" on this channel I straight away became a fan, and will definitely be getting Ad infinitum's new album.
I actually just discovered Ad Infinitum a few days ago. Thanks youtube recommendations. Then I saw your reaction to dark side if the moon. Then i worked my way backwards to Marching on Versailles and then to Rage of Light and some of her collabs with Warkings. Shes pretty incredible :). Keep up the awesome work!
Cool reaction as usual! Your knowledge about gears is outstanding! Glad you liked it and yes go listen to the first album it's a masterpiece full of bangers not a bad song in it! Also check the acoustic version of it Melissa's voice shines even more, being able to rearrange a full album of symphonic metal into acoustic says a lot about the talent of this band.
First heard Melissa with Rage of Light and their cover of Twilight of the Thunder God. And was hooked. Discovered Ad Infinitum on my streaming service as a random song, and was wow I like this. Looked up the band and was like well no wonder. Melissa is gold.
Hey! Glad you finally got to these guys, Tank. I first discovered them late 2019/early 2020 and was hooked pretty much right away. Then I watched their virtual launch party for their first album in the very early days of the-malady-that-can-not-be-named-on-RUclips and saw how lovely and charming they all were and that cemented it. They are all top shelf musicians, and Melissa...I love her tone. At least when I can hear her; my brain tends to shut down when I can see her, she's so beautiful.

You got to do their song marching on Versailles it's an amazing song and it was most people's introduction to this band and has an incredibly catchy tune and chorus
Their first album is album of the year for me. Whole album is fantastic. New album is actually their third album. They rerecorded Monarchy acoustically with different arrangements of the songs.

Would probably kill potential video in the algorithm, but The Number Zero has a sound I can't say I've ever heard before (not that it doesn't exist but their singer just has a standout sound, to me). Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sort of change of pace sound.

Discovered Melissa through Rage Of Light years ago and was very impressed by her vocal power! Disappointed she parted ways but looks like she’s happy to be more focused on Ad Infinitum and it’s direction. Look forward to the new album.
Meanwhile, you should check out Floor Jansen, currently with Nightwish, vocal range. Greatest female vocalist in Metal and in any genre. She does covers on Beste Zangers. Love her recent project with Northward. Love to see a second album. Lucky to see her previous band, ReVamp, just before calling it quits. Very productive woman!
Love to hear your professional take. Ghost love score is a popular song for reactors. She isn’t the original vocalist when it was written but love how she took the song under her wing. Now has two albums with the band which neither disappoint. Tuomas H. is an incredible writer, creating a magical & theatrical atmosphere. So, add to your list of reactions! ☺️🤘

I saw new Jinjer album on the wall. It looks very impresive and now it's almost full.
So happy you finally got to this band! I discovered them literally by accident around this time last year and they absolutely floored me. They are a crazy talented bunch and I feel they're only going to get better! You should check out (and maybe react to) Melissa covering Twilight of the Thunder God, she really can do it all man.

It's one of those bands where everything just clicks together perfectly. They got my full attention with the first album and that song is just further confirming they will be a big deal in the coming years. Beast in Black is also one of the upcomers with a new single and album on the way!
Missed this one on release. Knew you would love this one. Melissa is a superb vocalist. Those runs in pre-chorus are extraordinary. The first guitar I ever had as a kid was a Steinberger clone by Cort which was headless. Rock solid, almost never needed tuning and changing strings was dead easy and fast. Kind of surprised they never became more common.
While I'm familiar with her vocals from Rage of Light, this was the first time I've listened to them as well. I think I too have a new band to get into! 🤘
My first time hearing about this album and my brother had asked me if I'd heard of their songs, I said I hadn't. He showed me and boy do i love the vocals and the chorus.

When I first saw the video, I immediately thought, "Sarah Longfield Signature? What a wonderful surprise!" (If you don't know of her music, gotta check her out.) The first album by Ad Infinitum has probably, hands down, been my favorite new album during pandemic times. It's always in the car and on the rare occasions I go somewhere, it's just a constant, beautiful companion. Great band, great reaction, thanks for sharing.

Ad Infinitum is my favorite band beside Lovebites that i discovered in the quarantine time through reaction videos (i'm german so of course i knew all the older symphonic metal band since forever). Personally i'm not a fan of overused growling but what Melissa here, using it just very sparse, its exactly how i think that its cool. More is annoying, but this gives it some nice accents.
Else Melissa also has a nice stage presence, even since this is of course studio, but great movement and commanding presence. So up there with other great singers like Floor, Sharon, Asami.
But growling Melissa is best Melissa 😜 Funny we have this difference in taste considering I idolize LOVEBITES. I kinda like the overall sound of Melissa's previous stint on Rage of Light better *so far*, not that I don't enjoy her in Ad Infinitum, and the band as a whole because I absolutely do.
They give Within Temptation vibes here, which I don't mean as a bad thing. Maybe I was just in the mood for something heavier. I'm still fairly new at listening to this band tho, so they'll probably grow more on me in time.
@@sanda386 I am just in general no fan of growling, at least not to use it over long time. Its ok as a kind of gimmick here and there, but constant growling just hurts my ears.
I also was no fan of Revamp and i'm happy that Tuomas also is no fan of it 😄
No the next for me is Alyssa White-Gluz who has to realize that everbody knowshe can growl just like masses of other these days, and start to use her normal voice more.
Or Jinjer .. in Picies the 2 seconds were she is just belting is in the end the best part of the song for me. The growling is cool for reaction videos, but i would never put that on my playlist.
@@beldin2987 Fair. I must say I've gone the opposite route, as I was of the same idea as you back in the day, and eventually grew accustomed to and came to very much enjoy lots of all-growl songs or hybrid voices as much as I do clean ones.
