Both Ad Infinitum albums are terrific and it isn't just about the voice (the voice though!) but the whole process of the engagement and creation of incredible art. Another incredible metal singer - so grievously overlooked - with an incredible toolkit of vocal technique, stage presence, and charisma.

Super excited. When I suggested Melissa would be up for an interview I never expected her to reply and say she would and I never expected it to actually happen.
I expected it. She's just a normal person. She actually loves this type of stuff. There is a reason why she's a guest in so many random bands. She's just a really cool person.
This is one Tea Time that I wish could have been in person. Having Elizabeth as a talking mirror for an afternoon would be invaluable to Melissa, with the reversal of that for false chord work being a bonus.
OMG you ladies are overflowing this interview with cuteness, even more than Elizabeth normally does(which is a feat in itself).... These interviews are growing on me like crazy, this is one of the clear upsides of this whole pandemic mess. When will we see collabs between Elizabeth and some of these singers? I mean in a similar fashion as Charlotte Wessels and Alissa White-Gluz did "Lizzie" together for Patreon... no actual in-life contact needed.
I've been a fan of Ms. Bonny's music for a while now and am quite anxious for this interview. However, I had to pause it quickly and mention how strongly I was struck by the beauty of her smile in the opening interview shot. Pure loveliness!
I enjoyed this interview so much. I replayed so many little bits that made me laugh, in a very good way. Melissa has such an amazing voice and very talented, and her band are also top class musicians. I really hope that they make it big. 😉👍
Glad you had Melissa on. She is sweet, talented and genuine interesting personality. Even better this aired when the new Feuerschwanz record Memento Mori on which Melissa also sang hit No 1 in Germany (literally when this video premiered). Melissa is still very young (for the Metal-Genre) and she is already insanely good and very diverse in her style, it seems als her recent endeavors payed of very well. She might be the next big thing in metal and I would be very happy about that.
I love Elizabeth´s interviews, they are always so friendly and casual that all guests feel so comfty and let you see sides of them you dont usually see in other interviews, and Melissa Bonny was not different. Really enjoy her music and its really nice to see how easy going and humble she is, makes me really appreciate her more as person and artist. Keep the great job, Elizabeth, love your channel.
Just came around to watch this. The vibes between the two of you are just phenomenal and fun to watch - almost as if you know each other since forever. Melissa is a fantastic singer (of course) but also a really nice person - warm and funny and (much too) modest about her outstanding talent. It was fun to watch you two, and kind of adorable how you were flattered by each others attention. (and of course, both of you are incredibly talented artists.) I loved this very much!
This is my favorite interview you’ve ever done. I found it very easy to watch from beginning to end, even though it still took me a few days. There were no parts that I had to force myself to keep watching, I was interested in every subject that was brought up here. She’s very charismatic and warm her self, and very beautiful. I am interested in hearing more of her voice, because it sounds crystal clear and beautiful when she’s speaking or singing.
I found the time necessary to sit down and watch this. It was worth it. Far beyond having a fantastic voice, Melissa is just lovely in her attitude. Passionate about what she does but still sounding very down to earth. It's an approach many would do well to emulate.
So. Two very solid bands get their namesake from Kamelot. Nice. This interview was completely amazing. I love the energy. I love the love. Thank you both.
I'm working while listening this in the background. Such a great, informative and warm interview. Both ladies are so engaging and interesting. Great with a cup of tea, or coffee, or whatever beverage you want!! :-)
Well that was a treat! If I could pick who the next interview was going to be with, I'd have picked Melissa Bonny - one of the most exciting new talents in rock right now, and similarly Ad Infinitum is one of the best new bands. She comes across as having a wisdom beyond her years and to be a keen learner, open to both critique and new ideas. I enjoyed this immensely.
Beautiful, kind and talented. I've binged all three Ad Infinitum albums plus the new single and I'm officially a big fan. Speaking of Kamelot: Kind of cool how a year after this interview she'd be featured on one of their albums (The Awakening).
One and a half hour of the most beautiful and incredible talented people. Just hearing you made me relax and smile through all the video, thank you both for being so lovely persons

this was a fantastic interview. elizabeth is a very good interviewer and guest melissa is a really likeable charismatic person like elizabeth too. thank you so much. melissa has such an insanely good voice and clearly star qualities. she will make her way. another subject I won´t give up upon: a long time nearly all people thought, real metal is to physical for women to play. singer perhaps, but band? nah! so in 2016 a female bassplayer, huge maiden fan, and a female drummer, helloween fan, founded a band. the singer came from R&B and had no clue about metal. now she can sound like bruce dickinsons granddaughter. one of the guitarists is a musical prodigy, the other one a female shredgod. first EP and album came out in 2017. in 2018 they won metal hammers "best newcomer" award and played Wacken as first all female metal band ever.´til now they have a backcatalogue of around 50 songs. all of them are very good or masterpieces. not even one is mediocre or stale. they wear white dresses to "deny expectations" and to be better visible, because they are so tiny. but don´t get fooled, they really can kick ass. these women derserve more recognition. I would suggest "holy war" live tokyo 2020 ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about 🤨 But you should watch Dragonforce playing that Celine Dion song 😂🤘🏼 ruclips.net/video/mWVwdGi9ixI/видео.html

Greetings! MELISSA BONNY is my favorite female vocal, she have an amazing vocals!!! i would like to hear one day a song with PARADISE LOST with Melissa too cause they are my favorite metal band!
im not sure if youve heard of the band Korn, but i adore them because they feel like they make music with just pure raw emotion and nothing else. "here it comes again" is one of my absolute favourites and its super complex at times so i think you'd have heaps of fun analysing it :)
Love watching you and your reaction to talking with metal musicians. This was an interesting interview, she was quite engaging and pleasantly human. You two seemed to get along very well with each other. Keep the interviews coming, looking forward to who else from metal and hard rock you interview next. Just keep in mind Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed and Tremonti. He does interviews all the time and is a very interesting man. I think you would get along well with him.
Love these interviews! Thank you so much for doing them. If you are considering who to talk to next, I would like to suggest Joe Elliott of Def Leppard.
What a delightful Tea Time. The openness, thought and thoroughness of responses was fantastic, the humour to be savoured and the mutual respect was enjoyable along with the tips and ideas I picked up as well. That''s a fascinating way to inspire (albeit unexpectedly) and album lol On a side note, what a brilliant explanation; I finally understand "growl" =). I still have fry/grit/snarl/etc to figure out but I'm DEFINITELY gonna be making weird noises for a while (*blushing* I already play with that inhale-sing thingie in my car or shower)
Love Kamelot. March of Mephisto was the song that got me into them, I only listened because it had Shagrath in it... nice to see they are inspiring people still :)
I LOVE that Melissa's power metal influences are the same as mine Kamelot, Nightwish changed my life !! From there, I discovered so many amazing bands in the genre in EU and other places (US is still very light with power metal) Melissa is drop dead awesome ;) I'm in So Cal and I hope to see her here. Otherwise, I plan on going to see them in Munich this Summer.
The part of the discussion involving coffee and chocolate was intriguing because I actively used swiss chocolates when I was in choir and some other singing projects, specifically for the effect it had and the modifications it made to my voice. I have used chocolate, lemonade, tea, and even soda to achieve certain effects. I just have to be a bit cautious about the order I do them in or just omit one or more, depending on what I was up to.
She's pretty and pretty groovy. :) Seriously, an interesting lady. I like what little of her band that I have now heard. Her voice is similar to a woman I used to know, very similar. I love her speaking voice as much as her singing voice. The video that accompanies this one is excellent. Let's see/hear more of them. :D
Best way to do circular breathing is with a whistle. Trying to blow the same tone blowing out or in ward. There is a distinct difference in breathe flow to maintain constant tone but it can be done.
That girl that made Melissa "clicked" about her growl (@42:12) is probably Linzey Rae (in that video, she teach her mother how to growl); she now have her own band, The Anchor

another subject I won´t give up upon: a long time nearly all people thought, real metal is to physical for women to play. singer perhaps, but band? nah!
so in 2016 a female bassplayer, huge maiden fan, and a female drummer, helloween fan, founded a band. the singer came from R&B and had no clue about metal. now she can sound like bruce dickinsons granddaughter. one of the guitarists is a musical prodigy, the other one a female shredgod. first EP and album came out in 2017. in 2018 they won metal hammers "best newcomer" award and played Wacken as first all female metal band ever.´til now they have a backcatalogue of around 50 songs. all of them are very good or masterpieces. not even one is mediocre or stale. they wear white dresses to "deny expectations" and to be better visible, because they are so tiny. but don´t get fooled, they really can kick ass. these women derserve more recognition. I would suggest "holy war" live tokyo 2020 ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about 🤨 But you should watch Dragonforce playing that Celine Dion song 😂🤘🏼

So excited for this!!!!❤️
I use circular breathing when I whistle. I can almost whistle non stop until my lips get too dry. Lol. I am super excited that you are so interested in Melissa and her Bands. Such a great talent!
Melissa: *Mentions Kamelot*
Elizabeth: *Immediate segue to Seventh Wonder*
Me: Awww yuss!
Great interview folks, loved it!
E defintely needs to hear some Rage of Light - "Mechanicals" is where I discovered MB's amazing voice and it is an absolute banger... with a great video as well!
Greetings! MELISSA BONNY is my favorite female vocal, she have an amazing vocals!!! i would like to hear one day a song with PARADISE LOST with Melissa too cause they are my favorite metal band!
Whistle register + growl. Can't wait
im not sure if youve heard of the band Korn, but i adore them because they feel like they make music with just pure raw emotion and nothing else. "here it comes again" is one of my absolute favourites and its super complex at times so i think you'd have heaps of fun analysing it :)
also "freak on a leash" is notorious for the part near the end of the song which is super unique if you ask me
Love watching you and your reaction to talking with metal musicians.
Really awesome Interview to listen to.
What a delightful Tea Time. The openness, thought and thoroughness of responses was fantastic, the humour to be savoured and the mutual respect was enjoyable along with the tips and ideas I picked up as well.
That''s a fascinating way to inspire (albeit unexpectedly) and album lol
On a side note, what a brilliant explanation; I finally understand "growl" =). I still have fry/grit/snarl/etc to figure out but I'm DEFINITELY gonna be making weird noises for a while (*blushing* I already play with that inhale-sing thingie in my car or shower)
Very cool interview, it is great to listen to your discussion.
I love this two wolderfull ladys
Love Kamelot. March of Mephisto was the song that got me into them, I only listened because it had Shagrath in it... nice to see they are inspiring people still :)
Fantastic conversation.
Nightwish’s is not power metal though.

Excellent interview as usual! Would love to see a Muse reaction video, especially something from the H.A.A.R.P tour
I love her ❤
I recommend listening to this:
That's Rooibos Blueberry tea :-) Big fan of both of you from here down in South Africa.
There is a distinct difference in breathe flow to maintain constant tone but it can be done.
this interview was so fun.
Melissa Bonny the "BBQ Spice" of Ad Infinitum!!! Hahaha that was a great interview so much fun to watch thanks ladies you gals are the best!!!
Elizabeth! Please react to Ad Infinitum 'Upside down' and 'Somewhere better' from their new album, you won't be disappointed.
Am I the only one who wants to see a Lindsey Stirling and Melissa Bonny collab?
no you are not :) That would be AWESOME!
Well, now you're no longer!
Uh, nope....
legendary
checked out the Melissa + Eklipse collab on Not all those who wander are lost?
That girl that made Melissa "clicked" about her growl (@42:12) is probably Linzey Rae (in that video, she teach her mother how to growl); she now have her own band, The Anchor
so the real question is when are we going to get a Melissa Bonny and Elizabeth Zharoff colaberation? I would love to see that
Tatiana Shmailyuk and Melissa Bonny ... Sonic Bomb explodes ...🤯🤯🤯
That would be pretty incredible. Although, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to climb up on a castle wall like she does...
@@TheCharismaticVoice
Not climbing a wall? Oh, I remember a young woman with a silver horn and a rainbow wig on a rock covering "Always"... 😁😁😁
@@joergojschaefer3521 a myth clearly, no one could have done that!!

😁😁 Myth confirmed I think! 😁😁
Yes!!!
