#MelissaBonny #Interview #TheCharismaticVoice
-------------
I first heard Melissa when she performed Ding with Feuerschwanz and didn't realize at the time how new she was to being a full time singer. It's as impressive as seeing how good Elizabeth is with these interviews and realizing they only started about a year ago.
Thank you, Dave!
Watched Ding after Elizabeth's first Ad Infinitum reaction, was very surprised by the growls (and everything else). Melissa is goals. Yay interview!
Update: she likes reggaeton, she's the perfect woman 😯
I first heard Feuerschwanz when Melissa performed Ding with them. :)
Ms. Bonny is the complete package. She's a beautiful young lady with a stunning voice, an engaging stage presence, and a bestial growl that will floor you when she unleashes it. Also happens to be a sweetheart with a crazy work ethic.I expect nothing but the best from this channel, and Mrs. Zharoff and Ms Bonny both have a habit of exceeding the highest of expectations; so it looks like it's gonna be a fun Friday!
I heard a band she's in is playing nerdy tunes. You should listen to the Dark Side of the Moon (and Ad Infinitum, and Rage of Light, ect)
Just listened to one of Ms. Bonny's songs ...
Wow, dude, that's a voice! 🤪
The Dark Side of the Moon is what I'm releasing on Friday. ;-)
@@TheCharismaticVoice Cool. It's a great song that showcases multiple aspects of Melissa's voice and has the GOT tie in. I can think of no crater . . . I mean greater companion piece for the interview. Better lunar than later right? Sorry. Too many moon puns. Guess I was going through a phase. 😃
@@oglschmitt If the phase is not dark! 😁
@@joergojschaefer3521 LOL! I would say waxing gibbous. 😎
The chemistry between Melissa and Elizabeth is insane. I don't know if this is the first time they've talked to each other but the whole interview felt like two old friends speaking after a long time
First time we ever talked!
You both had me laughing so much, your laughter was so infectious, best interview ever!!
That's exactly the vibe I got when watching this!
I think it's just because they are both genuinely nice and sweet people with interesting things to say.
I'm definitely excited about this one. She doesn't get enough recognition.
What impressed me most about Melissa was her maturity. She related several stories about how she has been given critiques and then put in the work to address the issues that were pointed out. Her parents must be so proud to have raised such a humble, hard working, and gifted person. It is no wonder why so many bands want to collaborate with her. Great Interview!
Great to See You Again, my Ladies, I hope that you enjoy show💞💓💞
Is it just me or does Melissa seem to be the sweetest, loving, kind and fun to be around and work with packet of positive vibes you've ever seen? I was so captivated by her overall energy, you know? What a fantastic performer. Ad Infinitum is on (nearly) all my current playlists! Can't wait to see where this band will go in the future. SO much potential there already, and they are already SO GOOD, OMG can not wait to see what they do next! SO exited!!
Excellent interview by our own Mrs Zharoff. (I think your interviewing skills has definitely grown the more you do them, you lvl up each time! Super cool to see!)
Hugs and lots of love from Sweden!
Edit; And Melissas voice, technique, and stage presence.... To. Die. For. (I know I'm fan boying so hard right now, sorry)
Based on feedback, we switched the thumbnail back to the old style!
Looks good! 👍
Simple and clean, yet also dark and moody, I like it
While I will miss the side by side pictures of you and your guest grinning ear to ear while holding up mugs, I do admit this style looks much more eye-catching and traditionally professional. Two thumbs up! 👍 👍
It's very eye-catching and professional - looks good! I will admit that I'll miss the charm and down-to-earthiness of the mug pictures, though.
Classy, I like it.
She is my favorite female vocalist by far and she is so beautiful as well ❤❤❤
I would DIE for Ad Infinitum to tour with Kamelot. Cmon Napalm, make it happen! Now on to watch the rest of this.
Edit: 10 mins in, this my be my favorite interview youve done. You two have such a natural flow of conversation, Melissa seems absolutely lovely.
With Melissa singing and growling for Kamelot….
@@Savafan1 yes absolutely! Would love to hear her do March of Mephisto
It's happening!!
Excited! What a fantastic guest - and so totally deserving of interest and attention by anyone who hasn't heard her work yet. Both Ad Infinitum albums are terrific and it isn't just about the voice (the voice though!) but the whole process of the engagement and creation of incredible art. Another incredible metal singer - so grievously overlooked - with an incredible toolkit of vocal technique, stage presence, and charisma.
I couldn't agree more! Melissa is just so amazing not only as a vocalist, but as a person.
Melissa Bonny is such a charismatic voice herself. Very talented and such a gem of a person. Again a wonderful Tea Time, you really are in a league of your own when it comes to interviewing vocalists. I did almost choke on my coffee when she brought up Floor...but you both kept it nice and contained hahaha
Melissa Bonny is just amazing. She is also nerdy which is even more amazing.
OFC she loves Floor:) I feel that same warmth from Melissa, it's a very attractive quality in a person. Just downloaded everything she has done on Spotify!
I’m glad to see Melissa and Ad Infinitum get some love…they’re awesome! You should really check out Adrienne Cowan from Seven Spires. She’s classically trained AND she can do pretty insane harsh vocals, but the thing I think you’ll appreciate the most is her facial expressions lol. She’s intense.
YES!! Melissa mentioned Lacuna Coil.. now you have to do it !! ;D
What a nice person Melissa appears to be! You feel like being friends with her! Good interview! It would be nice to have Within Temptation's lead singer interviewed.
Hope she likes it here in Denmark, and that the fact, that she lives here, will put us on the tour map (when concerts gets possible again)
Super excited. When I suggested Melissa would be up for an interview I never expected her to reply and say she would and I never expected it to actually happen.
I expected it. She's just a normal person. She actually loves this type of stuff. There is a reason why she's a guest in so many random bands. She's just a really cool person.
Are you a beer that stalks people or a person who stalks beers? I'm disturbed by both.
Thank you, Elizabeth and Melissa, for this wonderful Tea Time Interview! Both of you are Adorable and Amazing!!! 💙
This is one Tea Time that I wish could have been in person. Having Elizabeth as a talking mirror for an afternoon would be invaluable to Melissa, with the reversal of that for false chord work being a bonus.
Melissa is such a sweetheart. I absolutely love her accent.
Melissa f---ing ROCKS. Still addicted to March on Versailles!
I've been a fan of Ms. Bonny's music for a while now and am quite anxious for this interview. However, I had to pause it quickly and mention how strongly I was struck by the beauty of her smile in the opening interview shot. Pure loveliness!
I have only exposed to these talented woman metal singers these past few months. It started with Floor Jansen and Nightwish at the end of May 21st and continuing to Simone Simons , Tarja, Anette ,Alissa, Sharon, Maria Franz and so on . It has only been just recently I heard Melissa Bonny sing... I think she was suggested to me by an Instagram bot just about a month ago and I have started to listen to her music too. She has a wonderful voice ! There is so much talent out there to support . I have been supporting artists through by streaming , buying merch when I can afford it and paying for tickets for virtual shows. I guess a ood point of this chat is that many of my favourite artists are not several times over millionaires like some pop artists in America are and need our support to keep on making the music that we fans love to listen to .
I love your list, except that you need to add Brittney Slayes from Unleash the Archers to it! You won’t regret it!
@@Rosannasfriend I will ...eventually .. I tend to obsess on an artist one at a time while listening to a few other artists one song here and there..
I am currently stuck on Maria Franz at the moment
You should also follow Melissa Bonny suggestion and add Zora Cock from Blackbriar to the list. You won't get disappointed, promised!
OMG you ladies are overflowing this interview with cuteness, even more than Elizabeth normally does(which is a feat in itself)....
These interviews are growing on me like crazy, this is one of the clear upsides of this whole pandemic mess.
When will we see collabs between Elizabeth and some of these singers? I mean in a similar fashion as Charlotte Wessels and Alissa White-Gluz did "Lizzie" together for Patreon... no actual in-life contact needed.
I've been in love with Melissa since I discovered Rage of Light's Lollipop cover. lol. Just an amazing singer.
I love Elizabeth´s interviews, they are always so friendly and casual that all guests feel so comfty and let you see sides of them you dont usually see in other interviews, and Melissa Bonny was not different. Really enjoy her music and its really nice to see how easy going and humble she is, makes me really appreciate her more as person and artist.
Keep the great job, Elizabeth, love your channel.
Glad you had Melissa on. She is sweet, talented and genuine interesting personality. Even better this aired when the new Feuerschwanz record Memento Mori on which Melissa also sang hit No 1 in Germany (literally when this video premiered). Melissa is still very young (for the Metal-Genre) and she is already insanely good and very diverse in her style, it seems als her recent endeavors payed of very well. She might be the next big thing in metal and I would be very happy about that.
Such a genuine, down-to-earth soul she is! I'm already a fan and I haven't even listened to Melissa's vocals yet :)
I enjoyed this interview so much. I replayed so many little bits that made me laugh, in a very good way. Melissa has such an amazing voice and very talented, and her band are also top class musicians. I really hope that they make it big. 😉👍
I found the time necessary to sit down and watch this. It was worth it.
Far beyond having a fantastic voice, Melissa is just lovely in her attitude. Passionate about what she does but still sounding very down to earth. It's an approach many would do well to emulate.
Always awesome to see and hear Melissa! As one of her Patrons I feel lucky to know her! She will go all the way!!! 😈🤘
This is my favorite interview you’ve ever done. I found it very easy to watch from beginning to end, even though it still took me a few days. There were no parts that I had to force myself to keep watching, I was interested in every subject that was brought up here. She’s very charismatic and warm her self, and very beautiful. I am interested in hearing more of her voice, because it sounds crystal clear and beautiful when she’s speaking or singing.
This was just such a great interview... such great chemistry!
Yes I would love to see AD Infinitum live !!!! Boston/ Providence please!!! Thanks for this ladies ❤️
Also thanks for the mention of Seventh Wonder, they are so amazing!!!!
She is even more amazing than I thought. She has a phenomenal voice and personality. @Melissa Bonny you have my support.
The smiles are strong with these ones. Great interview. You guys really connected.
Great interview. I like Melissa and Ad Infinitum. Thank you for the opportunity to get to know her better
Thanks for the great interview. Melissa has a nice personality.
Also living in Tucson, I agree that Ad Infinitum definitely needs to tour here.
Just came around to watch this. The vibes between the two of you are just phenomenal and fun to watch - almost as if you know each other since forever. Melissa is a fantastic singer (of course) but also a really nice person - warm and funny and (much too) modest about her outstanding talent. It was fun to watch you two, and kind of adorable how you were flattered by each others attention. (and of course, both of you are incredibly talented artists.) I loved this very much!
Pure goddess. Always brilliant, always classy, scintillatingly perfect voice. We all bow down. \m/
1st time I heard Melissa was Rage of Lights cover of " Twilight of the Thunder Gods" I was blown away by her voice.
A comment for the algorithm...because that interview was amazing, lovely and I digged it sooo much.
Thanks to both of you 🥰🥰🥰
An Ad Infinitum/Muse concert would be awesome. I love Muse but I would go for Ad Infinitum primarily.
So. Two very solid bands get their namesake from Kamelot. Nice.
This interview was completely amazing. I love the energy. I love the love. Thank you both.
I only recently discovered this band and days later found this interview. I LOVE The "upset teenager" story as a discovery of harsh vocals lol.
Look at them on the thumbnail ! They’re beaming ! Just by seeing this, you know you’ll have a nice moment watching this video
First time I saw and heard Melissa was on Rage of Light's cover of "Twilight of the Thunder God" by Amon Amarth. Been a fan ever since! 🤘🤘🙏
OMG I love how Melissa discovered Harsh Vocals, that's so adorable.
Am I the only one who wants to see a Lindsey Stirling and Melissa Bonny collab?
no you are not :) That would be AWESOME!
Well, now you're no longer!
Uh, nope....
legendary
checked out the Melissa + Eklipse collab on Not all those who wander are lost?
Melissa: *Mentions Kamelot*
Elizabeth: *Immediate segue to Seventh Wonder*
Me: Awww yuss!
Great interview folks, loved it!
Beautiful, kind and talented. I've binged all three Ad Infinitum albums plus the new single and I'm officially a big fan.
Speaking of Kamelot: Kind of cool how a year after this interview she'd be featured on one of their albums (The Awakening).
I'm working while listening this in the background. Such a great, informative and warm interview. Both ladies are so engaging and interesting. Great with a cup of tea, or coffee, or whatever beverage you want!! :-)
Two great persons having a tea time chat. Very enjoyable.
What a great personality. I don't know too many celebrities who share a Jan 23 birthday with me, so it was pretty sweet to learn that Melissa was born on my first birthday!
That’s my dad’s birthday. Small world.
One and a half hour of the most beautiful and incredible talented people. Just hearing you made me relax and smile through all the video, thank you both for being so lovely persons
Its always funny when you know Melissa from her music videos where she is always a serious strong demanding person, and then see her in interviews or reactions and she is just smiling and giggling all the time 😄🤘🏼 And damn, you girls together had really a lot to giggle about (even sneezing), was really fun to watch.
Floor Jansen is the same. Onstage she radiates confidence, but irl she's so mild and unassuming that comes off insecure. Floor once said that she becomes a different person onstage and I bet Melissa is the same.
@@Sarcasticron But Floor is more calm what is not so far from her stage personality while Melissa has this totally giggly personality that is really a 180 degree turn
@@beldin2987 Yeah, she is very sweet and perky and it is a big difference. I just watched "Ding" by Feuerschwanz and...that girl is a good actor, that's all I can say!
@@Sarcasticron Have you seen her making reactions to Batmetal with Mr Rock N Roll ? Thats really funny.
ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=melissa+bonny+mr+rock+n+roll+%22batmetal%22
Not only an amazingly talented artist but a warm friendly person as well. Great interview?
Thanx for the interview! We love Melissa.
It’s always a delight to see two people who are both very good at what they do, and who enjoy talking about their work.
Wether it’s Elizabeth and other singers here, Tod and Matt Easton trying out/researching weird medieval weapons or B.Dave Walters and a guest talking about storytelling, DM’ing and how to engage players.
Because both performers are professionals and the setting very informal, it allows for a very conversational and relaxed style of interview, which is really delightful and engaging to watch. :)
Oh i feel you Melissa...as a swiss myself it is so frustrating how expensiv everything is. I really like Ad Infinitum. Keep going :)
this was a fantastic interview. elizabeth is a very good interviewer and guest melissa is a really likeable charismatic person like elizabeth too. thank you so much. melissa has such an insanely good voice and clearly star qualities. she will make her way.
another subject I won´t give up upon: a long time nearly all people thought, real metal is to physical for women to play. singer perhaps, but band? nah!
so in 2016 a female bassplayer, huge maiden fan, and a female drummer, helloween fan, founded a band. the singer came from R&B and had no clue about metal. now she can sound like bruce dickinsons granddaughter. one of the guitarists is a musical prodigy, the other one a female shredgod. first EP and album came out in 2017. in 2018 they won metal hammers "best newcomer" award and played Wacken as first all female metal band ever.´til now they have a backcatalogue of around 50 songs. all of them are very good or masterpieces. not even one is mediocre or stale. they wear white dresses to "deny expectations" and to be better visible, because they are so tiny. but don´t get fooled, they really can kick ass. these women derserve more recognition. I would suggest "holy war" live tokyo 2020 ruclips.net/video/bgAxpEpEcno/видео.html
I have absolutely no clue what you are talking about 🤨 But you should watch Dragonforce playing that Celine Dion song 😂🤘🏼
ruclips.net/video/mWVwdGi9ixI/видео.html
Love these interviews! Thank you so much for doing them. If you are considering who to talk to next, I would like to suggest Joe Elliott of Def Leppard.
Just managed to watch now.... you guys should be besties :D awesome interview :) Thank You Elizabeth :)
TY, love Melissa and the band.
Of course she is a tea drinker, makes total sense! Whole day to wait for, wouldn't miss this by any event.
Well that was a treat! If I could pick who the next interview was going to be with, I'd have picked Melissa Bonny - one of the most exciting new talents in rock right now, and similarly Ad Infinitum is one of the best new bands. She comes across as having a wisdom beyond her years and to be a keen learner, open to both critique and new ideas. I enjoyed this immensely.
I just discovered her on another reaction channel. She is incredible!
im not sure if youve heard of the band Korn, but i adore them because they feel like they make music with just pure raw emotion and nothing else. "here it comes again" is one of my absolute favourites and its super complex at times so i think you'd have heaps of fun analysing it :)
also "freak on a leash" is notorious for the part near the end of the song which is super unique if you ask me
I use circular breathing when I whistle. I can almost whistle non stop until my lips get too dry. Lol. I am super excited that you are so interested in Melissa and her Bands. Such a great talent!
So excited for this!!!!❤️
Love watching you and your reaction to talking with metal musicians. This was an interesting interview, she was quite engaging and pleasantly human. You two seemed to get along very well with each other. Keep the interviews coming, looking forward to who else from metal and hard rock you interview next. Just keep in mind Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge and Creed and Tremonti. He does interviews all the time and is a very interesting man. I think you would get along well with him.
I recommend listening to this:
Wonderful interview, wonderful ladies
What a delightful Tea Time. The openness, thought and thoroughness of responses was fantastic, the humour to be savoured and the mutual respect was enjoyable along with the tips and ideas I picked up as well.
That''s a fascinating way to inspire (albeit unexpectedly) and album lol
On a side note, what a brilliant explanation; I finally understand "growl" =). I still have fry/grit/snarl/etc to figure out but I'm DEFINITELY gonna be making weird noises for a while (*blushing* I already play with that inhale-sing thingie in my car or shower)
You really need to check out Blackbriar , If you like singers like
Nina Hagen or Kate Bush, Zorà has such great agility dancing between high notes.
Wow at the same time she is so haunteling like a mythical creature.
Which is incredible with dark gothic fantasy of her music.
Greetings! MELISSA BONNY is my favorite female vocal, she have an amazing vocals!!! i would like to hear one day a song with PARADISE LOST with Melissa too cause they are my favorite metal band!
Whistle register + growl. Can't wait
Absolutely love these interviews!
so the real question is when are we going to get a Melissa Bonny and Elizabeth Zharoff colaberation? I would love to see that
Tatiana Shmailyuk and Melissa Bonny ... Sonic Bomb explodes ...🤯🤯🤯
That would be pretty incredible. Although, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to climb up on a castle wall like she does...
@@TheCharismaticVoice
Not climbing a wall? Oh, I remember a young woman with a silver horn and a rainbow wig on a rock covering "Always"... 😁😁😁
@@joergojschaefer3521 a myth clearly, no one could have done that!!

Melissa 🖤🤘🖤 I think next guest should be Zora Cock from Blackbriar, she is also amazing. 😉

Two of the most talented, beautiful and adorable ladies in one place. Thank you Elizabeth and Melissa for a lovely conversation. Adrienne Cowan ( seven spires) has a video showing exactly what Melissa is saying about growling. ruclips.net/video/Qv5t2ITnW1s/видео.html
HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend:
Yebba- My mind (you will probably cry!)
Chris Stapleton/ Jompson brothers- Barely Alive
Love Kamelot. March of Mephisto was the song that got me into them, I only listened because it had Shagrath in it... nice to see they are inspiring people still :)
E defintely needs to hear some Rage of Light - "Mechanicals" is where I discovered MB's amazing voice and it is an absolute banger... with a great video as well!
I LOVE that Melissa's power metal influences are the same as mine Kamelot, Nightwish changed my life !! From there, I discovered so many amazing bands in the genre in EU and other places (US is still very light with power metal) Melissa is drop dead awesome ;) I'm in So Cal and I hope to see her here. Otherwise, I plan on going to see them in Munich this Summer.
Nightwish’s is not power metal though.
I love this two wolderfull ladys
The part of the discussion involving coffee and chocolate was intriguing because I actively used swiss chocolates when I was in choir and some other singing projects, specifically for the effect it had and the modifications it made to my voice. I have used chocolate, lemonade, tea, and even soda to achieve certain effects. I just have to be a bit cautious about the order I do them in or just omit one or more, depending on what I was up to.
Excellent interview as usual! Would love to see a Muse reaction video, especially something from the H.A.A.R.P tour
Really awesome Interview to listen to.
Fantastic conversation.
I'm happy #Melizabeth really is a thing now 😁
No time now but will watch later for sure. I'd love it if you were able to get Thomas Winkler for this, I feel like that would be a great chat.
Aye, and a bonnie lass is she. Nice lighting thumbnail. Looks like a bond girl, should be blowing smoke from barrel of pistol. Shows folks hard work for their entertainment. Viewers: attention span of 3 year old - YT creators: dual ended candle burners. Keep on TCV, something tells me you're into something good!! Ü♫
Best way to do circular breathing is with a whistle. Trying to blow the same tone blowing out or in ward. There is a distinct difference in breathe flow to maintain constant tone but it can be done.
Just out of curiosity, do you have an agreement with Tank (or his wife) that you get to interview the female musicians and he gets the male ones?
But jokes aside, I really like both of your formats. It's a really nice and personal setting with much more interesting conversations than the standard interview questions.
Thanks to you and Melissa, that was really nice to listen to.
That's Rooibos Blueberry tea :-) Big fan of both of you from here down in South Africa.
