    I'd seriously consider one of these. I'm not as young and strong as I was so think this would be the most likely upgrade for me. Currently riding a sub 200cc farm bike which will do the speed limit here.

      Hi mate, I pick mine up tomorrow from "Trooperlu's" at Moorebank, Sydney and am looking forward to giving the "mild" off road a go. I have upper and lower crash bars, B+B sumpguard, barkbusters etc. Did you ever do the air intake modification that I have seen can't remember but an aussie company have the gear to do it.

    CF Moto has used this same motor in other models for over 2 years, no reports that the motor has had any concerning issues. With the popularity of this bike and global sales so high, parts availability appears to be a longer wait - noted when wanting to purchase genuine accessories, including crash bars, high seat, taller windscreen. IMO, you need the taller windscreen for highway riding if you get the higher seat. Heavy duty bash plate is a must if you plan any serios off-roading.

    I was one of the first to get this bike in Medellin CO. So a lot of the problems I had with the bike could have been in set-up bcs they had only done 3 or 5 before mine. The suspension was set up super hard and combined with the twitchiness of the throttle was crazy and felt a little dangerous on tarmac. The smallest crack would reverberate to hands and then the twitchyness would light up and it would take a moment or 2 to settle it down. I tracked it down to suspension and was able to calm it down quite a bit. But in the owners manual it says seat can be lowered and shows you the exact hole in the back that would lower it about another inch. Again at that time new here. This city can have a steep hill with stop sign or light and be slanted sideways as well. While I could get both my feet down to most of the ball of both feet. It just wasn't sfe enough here. Off road you can hit that situation too. But not have a stop sign or light. They wouldn't do it. My son 18 and a rider too. Begged me to let him drive it but because of the snatchyness of throttle I just couldn't let him ride it and feel good about it. I let him drive fmy 950 for short distances. Just didnt feel safe. Again I think bcs it was one of the very first ones sold here more than likely. So I ended up selling it with less than 500 km on it. Kind of took it in the shorts. but that was my fault. Hopefully with all these newer small mid size bike there will be a good fit. I went to the CFMoto shop the other day and they have a new 800 MTX coming out. Has the KTM 790 motor and the lower fuel storage and more play in suspension. A bit more expensive. Unfortunately we get hit with a 30% tariff here. Great vid you hit most of my concerns except how in the manual they have a full page dedicated to lowering. I need to ask next time i'm at shop.

    To all RUclips testers , take bike out on a off road trail on your own , drop bike on a hill , or in a river crossing , show us how possible a 195kg bike can be lifted whilst in boots and jacket ,
    Any bike is easy to ride once moving …it’s all about being able to lift up a dropped bike or manoeuvre a bike from a narrow single trail dead end .
    Cheers

      One of the reasons I keep hesitating about buying the CF as I do ride on my own. My little XT250 is easy to pick up and I fall off pretty regularly as the green lanes in the U.K. are relatively short, often muddy and usually contain a small element of something slightly technical. If we had long off road stretches which are more like gravel forest roads, it would be a no brainer. I’ve had the XT on top of me a couple of times where it’s pinning me against a wall, or bank and though it only weights 130Kg, which I can dead lift in the gym as a warm up, when it’s on top it’s hard to get out from under it. If the CF remains upright it’s fine, but I know I’m going down at some point.

      That was a loaner bike, so we’re not dropping it because we want them to loan us bikes in the future. But if you’re really worried about that, then maybe a dual sport is for you. I wouldn’t take the MT450 through any of the river crossings near me. And I’ve done 30 km in a hectic riverbed alone on my WR450. We’ll be coming out with a dual sports vs MT450 video soon. Subscribe if you want to see that one!

    • @nockianlifter661
      @nockianlifter661 21 день назад +1

      @ I wish it was that easy. In the UK it is definitely a compromise. A dual sport is purgatory to ride to the trails, particularly winter/spring. Great when you get there. What we really want to know is if the MT can be picked up by a relative novice on his own. Your experience that you’d use the WR in the conditions where you’re more likely to drop the bike is revealing. At least that tells us what we needed to know - it isn’t going to be ideal.

    • @SomewhereInside
      @SomewhereInside 20 дней назад +1

      @@nockianlifter661 spot on mate…and its something all you tube reviewers tap dance around…they show these 195kg bikes revelling in conditions where a Versys650 could go…they never show themselves stalling and dropping the bike and then picking the bike up alone…a CRF 300 Rally is 152kg and is on the cusp of the maximum ideal weight.

    • @the_explorerist
      @the_explorerist 20 дней назад +3

      Lots of people compare it to being a little T7 and say this is too heavy. The real test is to lay both bikes down and see how easy they are to lift. Actually place a scale under the bars to see the weight at the bars. Because it is all about weight distribution and leverage. I believe they will see where the real difference is and that it is not the weight, but the weight distribution.

    The elephant in the room when this bike gets reviewed is the jerky throttle response. Coober have had long discussions with CFMOTO engineers and they are not interested in adressing it at all because it means recalls and money lost. There are many people out there reflashing ECU's but from the feedback I see I only masks the problem. I'll be trying throttle cams by K360 to see if it helps. I dare say the next model will probably have this fixed along with fly by wire throttle and many other fixes such as water pooling up inside brackets. This to me is definately a heavy bike and in no way is it a dirt bike like a WR, so comparing it lis ike comparing a 4x4 Nissan Patrol to a Suburu Outlander. IMO P.S. Thanks for the video guys, nice editing.

    • @motoskillsfactory
      @motoskillsfactory  18 дней назад

      Thanks. Great info on the jerky throttle. The bike isn't so powerful, so I guess you can ride around it. A lot of modern bikes have similar problems. I think it has to do with how lean they need to run at closed throttle for emissions. People started complaining about jerky throttles about the time emissions got strict.

    • @MickH60
      @MickH60 10 дней назад

      It's been addressed with an update, that information is all over youtube, also there are video's showing how to adjust the throttle itself, these are very easy fixes........ In my country these bikes are selling faster than they can be stocked, there are 10'000 mile reviews and a lot less whining about easily fixed problems....

      My CF Moto 300NK 2022 has the same issue with jerky throttle. Actually, when you try to slowly rotate accelerator in neutral, rpm abruptly jump from ~1400 idle up to ~2700, and then it goes smoothly. With gear engaged, it is the same, I have to smoothen it with the clutch while driving in slow traffic.

    • @mikewelti112
      @mikewelti112 8 дней назад +2

      I have one on order, and I have worked on power sports products for 40 years. What I would do to try and fix the jerky throttle is slightly advance the TPS sensor until you hear the idle slightly increase. Then tighten the screws and try it. I have fixed other products this way. The dealers will not do this.

    You were supplied a bike with the high fender, this is not how they are sold in all the reviews I've watched and seen in advertisements. So bagging the radiator protection is not warranted. Saying that you will need to add protection if you spec the high fender would be a more correct observation.

    • @motoskillsfactory
      @motoskillsfactory  18 дней назад

      Looking it up, I do see that someone photos show high and some show low fenders. This is the only one I've been near, so i didn't know. But regardless, if they're going to ship them with a high fender, seems like they should offer better radiator guards too.

    • @the_explorerist
      @the_explorerist 18 дней назад

      @@motoskillsfactory If they sell the high fender as an option, then it would be nice of them to sell the radiator guard as an option. There are companies that do make the radiator guards for this bike. B&B Offroad being one of them.
      But I speculate the current cheap plastic guard is part of the process to keep the price down.
