      What really annoys me is how close they get without actually hitting it, as well. Honda alone has two directions they could come at it from, stick wire wheels and longer-travel suspension on the NX500 and you're basically there, or stick the 500 engine in the 300L Rally and you'd have a more off road-biased but still competitive bike there too. You can come up with similar stuff for a lot of companies, so many things that are almost what this is, but either too slow or just a few parts swaps away from being off road-worthy enough.

    Hey! I've recently bought a 450 MT, and I must say I'm very surprised with how good this bike is on the trails, one thing that people never mention with this bike is, that it comes stock with a 140/70 rear tire but you're meant to put on a 140/80 (it's on the original document) , do not change the front sprocket! the tire size diference is more than enough for you to feel the difference on highway revs and not loose torque on the trails! the suspension gets even better after a few weeks of riding! I took me at least a month to break in my suspension and it's really good now. you don't often get a bike that's this cheap and so well built, it feels light, you can adjust preload, compression and rebound, tubeless spoked rims, it has foldable mirrors, adjustable wind deflector, the abs/tc button is great, you don't even have to stop to turn it on/off and so much more tech that honestly you don't need but it's great to have. I have friends with T7's and they were blown away by this bikes capabilities, it handles rocky trails so easily that you sometimes forget that this is an adv bike. For those who want to hate this bike because it's made in china, google is free don't be ignorant.

      How do you think it stacks up against a xr650l or dr650? Is there a lot more off road comprise in the mt450 our is it getting into unicorn bike territory?

    • @eu-od8wi
      @eu-od8wi 2 месяца назад +3

      @@johnstone9670 in my opinion those bikes are great off-road but I’m not sure how comfortable you’d be on long rides. there’s always pros and cons with both options, a newer bike has so much tech that sometimes an electrical issue can leave you stranded , usually I’m way more inclined towards classic bikes ( simple and more visually appealing) so buying a 450mt for me was kinda going out of my style, I’ve done some changes to make it look cooler. But yeah this bike can take it all, it’s an offroad oriented adventure bike. I think it could definitely become my unicorn with a few mods, nothing too serious, I need a better seat and I might even get a power kit someday ( it doesn’t need one ) but I’m very curious on how much better this bike can become. It takes a beating no problem, easy to lift if you drop it, incredibly nimble. But, I always recommend people to go for a test ride or two! I did 3 😅
      My opinion is a bit biased obviously because I’m really happy with it, been having loads of fun off-roading and I’m already planning on a Morocco trip next year, I’ve recently installed the mitas trail xt+ and the bike really became more alive on the dirt
      I hope this wasn’t too confusing, English is not my first language

    Been riding and racing for decades, usually on a Honda and to find the only new bike I'm actually excited about is from a Chinese manufacturer is quite a change. Finally some decent options in the entry level ADV space. It's just a pity there's only 2 & none of them are from the big 4. The 400ish cc range seems to be the hottest bike segment at the moment, but the most compelling models all come from manufacturers in China or India, and none of them touched the ADV space until CFMOTO's 450MT (IBEX for the Yanks) & RE's Himalayan 450 were recently announced. And it's an easy choice. Want a modern ADV with all the bells & whistles then go for CFMOTO. Prefer a more vintage looking bike that hearkens back to the earliest ADV's then the Himalayan is for you. Kawasaki better have a Versys 450 up their sleeve for November, otherwise they're going to lose what little market share they have left in this segment.

    Put that engine in a KTM EXC chassis, keep the abs switch, add a rally fairing and you'll have the unicon. This bike is not the unicon and it doesn't challenge the Tenere 700.
    But, 44 hp is plenty off road and all the bikes already do this well, it's sustained HWY cruising ability that they're missing.

    • @2WheelsGood.01
      @2WheelsGood.01 2 месяца назад

      It isn't supposed to challenge the T700. The bike is both more expensive and has a much bigger engine. For highway cruising simply change the sprocket and add a taller windscreen. But this isn't the point of use of this bike anyways.

    This bike looked good to me in the videos, but when i saw it in the dealer store my jaw dropped. It's a feast for the eyes. No other bike got me so hyped like this one. I own a Transalp 700 which is a very bad bike. 450mt has it all, reliability (everyone in yt are thrashing this bike and have no major problems), good consumption, very comfortable seat and ergonomics, tubeless wheels, low weight, good suspension, and it's not small, it can travel with luggage onboard and pillion on the speed limits. As for the Tenere comparison. I would never give money for something that i can't travel on because of it's stupid saddle. Tenere is enduro only bike and nothing more.

    If CFmoto gains the capability to compete in MotoGP, it would be a significant milestone for the brand and China’s motorcycle industry. Competing at that level would demonstrate their advanced technology, engineering, and racing expertise. It would also boost their global reputation as a premium motorcycle manufacturer. I would like to try all the 450 classes . Minus the KTM . The Himalayan, CF Moto, and Ibex. I like them all . But I ended up with the 411 Himalayan . The true reasons . I can work on it . And almost no technology with no radiator to boot . My bike tools around ok . And its great off road . No its not a dirt bike or a high end duel purpose but its comfortable and climbs most mountain sides . ABS I just want to disable the rear ABS . I dont care if I have ABS all of my Harley's didn't have ABS but yet I traveled half of the United States on a Super Glide with no ABS . Power is subjective . My normal speed is 70 mph . And the 411 does ok . Anything more its not the best tool for that type of riding . But I knew what I was buying . Its a great BDR bike . You can keep those high end ADV bikes . I just dont want a fairing . Due to I have deer runs for riding and a couple of fire roads . I have to go to a neighboring state to ride their states. Freaking pathetic .... But I'll travel this country on major routes and just jump a interstate highway for 20 miles or so . Im good with 65/70 mph . Its a one lunger for heaven sake . Stop with the horsepower crap all ready . Its all about torque and gearing off rode .

And yes, the price of the base bike justifies what you get, but that's why they won't make a 690 ADV either, because while it would be lighter than a 790/890 R, it would still be a niche bike with a price around $14k
      690 still makes sales because it fills the void from no one else making ~650cc thumper super dual sports.

    This and the Kove are actually sort of exciting after years of the same, ultra limited and stale stuff that's been squatting in this segment in the USA

    It's a 450 that is about 20lbs lighter than the too heavy KLR650. How can that be a good thing?
