  • I recently had the opportunity to attend Plein Air South in the Forgotten Coast area of Florida. One of the highlights was hearing David Boyd Jr. and listening to his talk on Urban sketching.
I included a demo of a continuous line drawing at the end, so be sure to stick around for that.
Thank you for watching and subscribing if you have. I really appreciate each and every one of you who spend time with me.

I was at PACE 2024. I have completed several sketchbooks. I love looking back. My first sketch book was 2016. Thank you for sharing your experience and the Artists comments. Happy painting.

I went to PACE 2024 too! I'm just adding to my journals today what I didn't have time to paint while I was there.

Thank you, Kari, for such appreciated insights. After years of painting with acrylics, I wanted to start fresh with something fun, new, and exciting. Then I found YOU. Coincidence, I don't think so. Your teaching and mindset are EXACTLY what I wanted and needed. Very inspirational and minimal with astoundingly beautiful results. I look forward to this journey with you.

WOW, I'm humbled, thank you. When I started this journey my goal was to share with others what has helped me. I notice synchronicity moments. I believe God places them in our path to let us know we are going the right way. When I retired, I knew I wanted to do something with my art. Covid pushed me to learn the online stuff...still learning 😳
For some reason, my channel took off this week and I've gained more subscribers that I can even comprehend. I'm thankful for the opportunity it gives me, and I am truly grateful that people like you help me realize what I am doing is helping them. Let the journey begin! Happy creating!♥️♥️♥️

Love the way you modified the black journal. Awesome 15 minute sketch of the boat at Mill Pond! Creating a drawing that intimidates you is a great idea! I also attended the church service one year and it was an amazing time. I had hoped to attend the Plein Air South but a family event occurred at the same time. Maybe I’ll see you there next year. We have spent several anniversaries at Apalachicola and St. George island. Some of our favorite places to stay at.

Amazing video and love all the art. I really need to figure out how to find some of these events. I am from a small town and just never can find anything around but dang I could have went to this I live in lower Alabama just a few minutes over the state line. Never been to an event like this and would enjoy the company of other artist. Found your channel a few days ago and really enjoying all you do, it’s been amazing.

The Forgotten Coast en Plein Air and Plein Air South are now annual events usually starting the second Sunday in March. Look them up on Facebook and find their websites. I think one is, www.yallcomepaint.com
Google search "Plein Air events near me" and you might be surprised what you will get.
I'm teaching a week in North Carolina this summer. There is a video about that if you are interested.

I was SO encouraged by this Kari!! I recently went to Vienna and Prague with family and I brought my watercolors and journals but only painted twice on a plane and a train. I’m not fast and feel so intimidated by sketching. I can’t sketch quickly. I will keep trying though. Were all your watercolors made with your 2 limited palettes? What other colors do you have in your arttoolkit?
