    Thank you kindly! I bought my nephew an MN78 for Christmas. He has already broken the rear driveshaft, and I can see the metal pin dislodged in the front steering knuckle. I have 3 other MN78s, two have been used for over a year with no problems. The third is where I'll get donor parts to fix his truck. This was a very helpful video as I'm trying to wear these things out and upgrade the weak parts. I'm also waiting on parts to swap metal gears into the MN78 transmission and convert it to a 370 motor. Anyway, I enjoyed your discussion and found it quite informative. Cheers!

      Thank you for the kind words, I’m new to doing videos but not to Rc so hopefully I can help others in the future as well. Rc has been very therapeutic for me, it’s a great hobby!

      It sure is! I only started making rc videos last year about the same time as I started with the hobby. There is a big learning curve, but I enjoy it. You definitely helped me today. @@SRCE2070

    This MN model is fantastic, easily the best I've bought yet. While I also own the MN82. Funny, I ended up buying two of these trucks simultaneously just like you, knowing I'd likely tinker and need spare parts. That's the great thing about these affordable RC trucks, you don't have to worry as much about breaking something, experimenting with mods or just using the body on another rig. Thanks for the video!

    I got a couple vids of the red one all i did was swap out wheels and tires and worked on its stock suspension and detailed the body and interior...its by far the best stock esc receiver and motor that has come in wpl or mn ..👍

      I do have to agree as far as these RTRs go, this has to be MN Models best rig yet! I changed to the 30 Amp 3s for more power and better slow speed control, but yeah the stock unit is miles ahead of the previous ones.

    I used to race, so my big tip for OIL SHOCKS is to get a lot of plastic shock piston discs for dampening experimentation. Usually they'll have two holes, but you can notch triangles into the opposite side edges to increase flow to make spongier shocks (10w oil) w/ softer springs so that driving at speed over terrain will look floaty and realistic instead of bouncy. #oilshocks

      @SRCE2070  10 месяцев назад

      Haven't figured out which shocks I'm gonna use yet, but yes I agree

      @@SRCE2070 perhaps see how much maximum travel you can get out of it if you can find alternate front mounting points.. have the resting position midway to get the best articulation and least stress on the driveshaft.

      On the yellow truck I used WPL first version soft kit tires on WPL C34/44 wheels, I have foams in the front and weights in the back two, these tires, wheels, weights, and foams are available on the official WPL website. However I'm testing some new Injora tires that I will be reviewing soon on the yellow truck, they are hands down better than this setup.

    @SRCE2070 Thanks for a fantastic and detail review. Sorry i have a few questions that i hope you might be able to help. For the WPL esc, is it plug and play with the MN tx/rx? And does it bring out more low end torque of the MN motor? It is lacking a bit with stock set up. Also, for the dog bone brass bushing, do you mean pushing it further into the plastic sleeve of the dog bone? Mine hasn’t broke yet but might want to tighten it first before it came loose or cracked? Thanks in advance.😊

    • @SRCE2070
      @SRCE2070  8 месяцев назад +1

      You would have to use a new transmitter and receiver for the WPL esc, I use a hacked Flysky gt3b, Using 3s with the WPL esc really brings the stock motor to life, Yes you would want to push the brass bushing outward closer to the wheel.

    Love what you did with your MN82, thanks for sharing! The white on the Toyota lettering on the tailgate makes a huge difference. What did you do for the white? Paint or decal rub? For my MN82 I have swaped my front axles for metal (mostly for the added weight), and the drive shafts as well. Unfortunatley my metal front axle came with outer bearings missing, the risk of Aliexpress orders I suppose. I also installed weighted beadlocks with a sticky tire, but with the tire diameter being slightly larger by a few mm, the tires bind on the fender when turning. Thanks again for the video!

      Thanks! I used a craft paint marker I found at a dollar store, it was a pretty easy job but you still have to take your time and be careful, I did it looking through a magnifying light.

    I'm considering buying this RC, because this is my first time getting into the RC hobby. is the electronics stock strong in the long term if we play it right? If it's rarely used, does it break quickly like an ESC error?

    • @SRCE2070
      @SRCE2070  9 месяцев назад

      I would honestly upgrade the esc, I didn't have any luck with the earlier MN Models escs lasting, I haven't ran the stock red one long enough to know but it's getting upgraded too.

      @SRCE2070  7 месяцев назад

      Unfortunately no, I eventually upgraded all of it, but in order to run that esc you'll need a radio and receiver, I use Flysky but any bargain radio will work, just find something with a small receiver.

    • @SRCE2070
      @SRCE2070  11 месяцев назад +1

      I don't understand first part of your question, I don't think it's waterproof, you'd have to check with manufacturer, I don't run my RCs in very much water anymore, causes too many issues later on.

    • @tomasferreira1379
      @tomasferreira1379 11 месяцев назад

      Sorry I was asking if I should use in the sand 😅

    • @SRCE2070
      @SRCE2070  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes you can run in sand but it will require more maintenance for sure, these don't have bearings but they do have metal gears in the axles and that sand will over time destroy those gears and all the plastic bushings, I would disassemble, clean, and regrease axles regularly. The transmission would also need the same regular maintenance in those conditions.

    Beware painting the interior of MN trucks, the plastic they use isn’t ABS it’s polyethylene which nothing adheres to it, not super glue or paint. However you can treat it. It’s a few steps that are tedious but they work. Firstly you have to flame the plastic with a blowtorch, fast enough so it doesn’t melt, this will open up the polymers promoting better adhesion and will also make the mold release which is impregnated to the plastic come to the surface. Then you use scotch bright to roughen the surface followed by a 99.9% ipa bath. When painting make sure to use a rest strong primer and only then the paint will adhere to the plastic. If you don’t even the best primers I have just flake right off

    Best thing for stability is approx 10x .22 lead airgun pellets in each tyre 😊, my mn99 would roll over so i did this and she is so stable, the pellets always stay at the bottom of wheel low C.O.G
