Indian population is so high - Data analysis: Wrong. Just like gross GDP is a wrong measure for comparing living standard, the gross population is also a wrong metric. Look at population density in wikipedia- India is 32nd, Belgium is at 35, Netherlands is at 29, South Korea is at 25, Taiwan, which is richer and more developed than many european countries is at 20 (!!) 2. India was a poor country after independence, other countries were already rich. Data analysis: Wrong. We can do farming all year around whereas most of the western developed nations need to deal with at least 6 months of winter when no farming is not possible/difficult. 4. Indians are racially inferior(physically and intellectually) Data analysis: Wrong (but even I used to believe it before) If Indians lack anything it is lack of quality education and good food. If both are available, Indians can go any distance (The CEOs/work force of most international companies are full of Indians). Similarly, we are almost #1 in the world in our most popular sport(cricket) and also have been successful in Hockey, Tennis and badminton 5. Thanks Ranveer. Great podcasts. Hope I get to hear more about startup ecosystem. a. Is there a simple guideline that will allow many more people to start entrepreneurship? b. Can we have basic courses for the young and the old on how to start the startups? c. Will the idea work if we have a 50M people in India doing startups and employing around 10 people each? Basically to cover half a billion population. c. What are the value added sectors where people can invest time and thoughts so we can bring maximum ROI on the time and efforts invested. Can such a bulletin be published by government? d. Can we have a refirm prioritized on education? Basically quality of education in several schools other than top schools to make the kids competent for the future of work? e. Can we have more advanced R&D institutions in India for promoting science and technology to the next levels. Like US funds this across the universities.
Thanks for having him back. Bring him back many more times, we not only learn about economics but also we learn about new perspectives of life. How can we make it better.

Seeing such intellectuals working as a think tank for our country, makes youth like us driven enough to work hard and be a resource to the country as they are. As a student who is a learner, I would like Sanjeev Sanyal sir, to touch upon the problems in the bureaucracy and what is the potential of youth giving in their insights and learning from the big advisers and also, how an adult can contribute to these think tanks ( in the form of working under them or be an intern for the learning part).

One of the most insightful episodes of TRS, in terms of how a common people of this country can look at the economic side. Its a treat to listen to Sanjeev Sanyal and ofcourse Ranveer, the way you take the conversations forward is growing with each episode. Loved all your spiritual as well as political episodes. Kudos to the TRS team, looking forward to more such podcasts.👍🏻👍🏻

I’m so gonna vote this time and make sure the right govt is in place. The congress really ruined everything for us for so long indeed, lol.

Hey Ranveer, I saw the talk show you did with Dr Alok Sharma. I myself being a medical aspirant seeing such a podcast is so exciting and motivating! Such gem of doctors exist in our country and are quite determined to help and cure people no matter what, is just wow! Here I would like to mention and request you to invite a doctor from Tamilnadu to your show. It will be a great talk. About the doctor: Dr. Salai Jaya Kalpana is a Siddha doctor from Tamilnadu. She has discovered or rather put together the ancient mudra therapy to medical experiments and have proven it to work scientifically! She is also a pioneer to have done this and has given it a name called the "Siddha Mudra". She is such a knowledgeable person and will have so many things to share. I insist you to convince and bring her to the show. I would love to see her talk here and the fam is going to love it as well! Cheers!
One thing is surely visible in the Modi govt. - individuals are very wisely chosen in order to deliver and lead their respective arena. The success is inevitable if there is 'Team work' in place. Thoroughly enjoyed the podcast! Sanjeev Sanyal sir - Kudos!
I am feel so blessed when I see so smart people like Sanjeev Sanyal sir working in the government for us people of the country. Blessed and thankyou sir for everything you have done!
True gems of Bharat Maa. Being a fellow bengali bought up in 80's Kolkata, I agree 100% with what he says. I am amazed at the clarity and the wisdom he brings to the table. We need these people in our country, as we all work towards a prosperous Bharat.
Today i became little bit more wise and smart, learned how to think, how to question my own believes. People like sanjeev sanyal, anand rangnathan, j s deepak, s gurumurthy are gems of india.
Thanks for having Mr Sanyal back on the show.....few more such people in GOI like him who have holistic approach to the issues, we might soon be talking India being Ist or 2nd economy.
In every podcast their is some extraordinary knowledge which we need it is very helpful for the students as well as non-students all credit goes to brother raveer thanks brother❤❤❤
Following Sanjeev Sanyal for the past 7 years. One thing he reiterates time and again is the unpredictability factor in all human activities and the way successful businesses adapt and change course. This message has to be taken out to the last man who struggles in life so that he will get the knowledge that life will turn to his side one day and that he needs to the focusseed on what is best for him, instead of trying to get a tailor made solution. Thank you Ranveer
one thing that is very clear is that even bureaucrats appointed by the current government are very 'Bharatiya' at heart. The examples he quoted about Shukracharya, Brihaspati and Chanakya and how he related them to modern day economics is awesome.
I never comment on videos. I often just hit the Like button and move on. But i find myself forced to comment and thank you for bringing such amazing guests and content out lately. I've learnt so much from these podcasts, especially the ones with Sanjeev sir.
Fantastic interview with Sanyalji. He is absolutely right on ALL the points. Glad he is helping to lead the country!! Looking for the next 198 interviews with him!!
This podcast was an absolute eye opener... amidst a swamp of political mudslinging fest that is going on right now.. it is so refreshing to finally listen to things in such a simplistic and honest manner... This single podcast taught me so much more on Indian economy than eight years of news debates... ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Coincidentally, I watched his last episode yesterday. And after watching these two episodes he really changed the way of my thinking and my whole perspective.
People who really are able to take advantage of it, are not people with great plans, but the people who are able to take advantage of opportunities as they emerge.... Powerful statement
My respect for Mr Sanyal grows more everytime I listen to him in various fora. Please bring him back again soon. Credit to Ranveer for not getting defensive or irritated when he gets 'corrected' by his illustrious guests. This episode is a gem even for somelike me who has vast global IT industry experience at senior management level and an 'MBA' degree from Australia. Enjoyable conversation.

How Lucky of Bharat to have a chief economic advisor as Sanjeev Sanyal to the PM.Right of him to say that Economic growth is to be earned.Very realistic episode.Very right about judiciary -needs to be fixed Mr Sanyal is Brilliant as always and he is sound with judgements with no jingoism. One of the most knowledgable Man in India.

Truly! I want to consume our scriptures like Vedas, Gita and Upanishads and the writings of great personalities like Chanakya and Kautilya, Ashoka etc. There's so much to absorb that we aren't aware of.
If Mr Sanyal start teaching in colleges or Universities then Math or Physics students and students from Comparative Literature Dept. will be present in Economics Class . Its a privilege 🙏
Exactly what I was thinking 😊
Yeah I think dat would be great..i mean simple record the lecture and make it access to all institutes
Wonder why an intellectuals instead of sitting on top to run the Govt ends up working under Highschool dropouts students. We must come out from this system and if people like sit on top official position and do without limitation of power. I'm sure India will be ahead of all Nation.
Very few people know that he is Grand nephew of revolutionary Sachindra Sanyal. Sanjeev’s book ‘Revolutionaries’ is mind blowing and I keep recommending the book to everyone.
The "Swades, the NGOish point was such an eye opener!" loved the podcast!
“Flexibility will always beat grand plans.” - words of wisdom to note down
Yep, the world is too complex to have fool proof plans. You need the system to be flexible to absorb sudden changes
"SUCCESS- To be able to deal with the future as it happnes and not it necessarily about life the way you want it be". ...Resilence, felxibility and ability to work hard under the circumstances you are will always beat the ability to come up with grand plans"...🙂..Too good...Thank you beerbiceps and Mr Sanjeev Sanyal sir...amazing podcast.
When a visionary leader moves forward his mission would get naturally shouldered and supported by able and efficient brains to achieve the objectives. This is what I am able to know from this discussion.
So, I didn't have watched the first part but after watching this episode I must say that after S Jaishankar sir who I personally admire so much for his diplomatic ability to think and put everything in a certain way, Sanjeev sir will be one of the persons who I admire a lot & from whom I learn so many things. I personally want to thank Ranveer sir and the whole team of TRS to do this podcast. thank you very much.
Sanjeev is extremely well-spoken and a quality statesman - love all his range of projects from history to economics. Hope he gets to shine in gov.
In the end I want to see an economy generating real jobs and not just charity… well said Sanjeev Sanyal 👍
Best line …businesses in the name of NGOs or so called charity
I feel, major Universities must invite Sanjeev sir for atleast one lecture. The way he make things very simple is commendable. Looking forward sir to meet you in person at Pondicherry Letfest.
He came to our college some months ago but sadly I am out of college then
They actually do, foreign countries
Man, what a discussion. Just fell in love with Mr Sanjeev Sanyal. Absolutely thrilled that these are the people who are driving India ahead with their vision. We need more such people. And hope you can get more such luminaries in future episodes ❤
Everybody around modi ji is co confident and clear visioned 👍
He identified and recruited talented people and surrounded himself with abundance knowledge

I hope the dot alliance comes to power. I would love to see the country crumble but our international image will get a new makeover. I hope i will be outside this country to witness it.

I felt crying at the end of this podcast, so emotional…Thanks man for bringing this gems to the show.
😂😂 cry? What for?
You are mentally ill
Felt so proud to see a Bharti taking examples from Bharti history and Sanskrit knowledge systems to give context and direction to contemporary Bharat's economic policies.
Sanjeev Sanyal's are the only TRS podcasts I listen till the end and then repeat. Most articulate Indian polymath of our times. Love the way he combines so many branches of knowledge and communicates so simply, easy enough for anyone to understand. Please keep bringing more of economics series with Sanjeev.
Next podcast topic request: NEP, semi conductor plans in India and economic corridor with Arab and EU. Thank you
For IMEC you can look out for pavneet singh IMEC ,u will get good understanding for that...and now connect that topic with hamas and Israel ongoing tension along with role of saudi in this situation.....
Podcast that was worth the sequel! Cant get enough of Sanjeev Sir! His reiteration of disregarding the myopic view really gets drilled in you, his ability to simplify complex aspects is just amazing,
Kudos to you Ranveer to mine such a knowledgeable brain, just that it felt he had to repeat & over-simplify a lot of things this time...
So well thought out & properly explained.. very rarely we get to hear a bengali speaking like this. A pole apart from Amartya Sen. We need more & more ppl like Mr Sanyal.
You are watching wrong kind of bengalis. Go through the history of modern Enlightenment of India
I just admire how much positivity sanveev sir brings in his conversations. Amazing thought process and clarity. These are the kind of visionary people India needs!
Ranveer you are doing GOD’s work. This is exactly what I want to learn about. I grew up “bookishly” excellent at Economics as a subject but THIS IS PURE GOLD. How lucky we are to hear this from someone who’s an expert! Brilliant. Love from Seattle!
Mind Blown...
Every time I listen to Sanjeev Sanyal, it awakens me from within, fills me with an indescribable zeal, immense optimism.
Thanks Ranveer and team. ❤
I'm glad that the reforming judiciary is talked about. I have said that without reforming the judiciary and enforcing timely contracts, growing to the next level is impossible.
Hey Ranveer... I really wonder how you are so much involved into the podcast... From our childhood we have been institutionally/socially lead to believe that the following are the reasons why India is still a poor third world country .
1. Indian population is so high -
Data analysis: Wrong. Just like gross GDP is a wrong measure for comparing living standard, the gross population is also a wrong metric. Look at population density in wikipedia- India is 32nd, Belgium is at 35, Netherlands is at 29, South Korea is at 25, Taiwan, which is richer and more developed than many european countries is at 20 (!!)
2. India was a poor country after independence, other countries were already rich.
Data analysis: Wrong. Just look at per capita GDP growth of the following countries - look at maddison-data-gdp-per-capita and compare countries like Germany and south Korea, even china
3. India has fewer natural resources:
Data analysis: Wrong. India has one of the best pool of natural(and human) resources in the world. We can do farming all year around whereas most of the western developed nations need to deal with at least 6 months of winter when no farming is not possible/difficult.
4. Indians are racially inferior(physically and intellectually)
Data analysis: Wrong (but even I used to believe it before) If Indians lack anything it is lack of quality education and good food. If both are available, Indians can go any distance (The CEOs/work force of most international companies are full of Indians). Similarly, we are almost #1 in the world in our most popular sport(cricket) and also have been successful in Hockey, Tennis and badminton
5. India has many languages so it's hard to take everyone along and make fast progress:
Data analysis: Wrong. The four national languages of Switzerland are German, French, Italian , Romansh, and of course English, in susch a small country. They may have cultural issues due to the Language factor but it did not hamper economic development

sanjeev sir .... I have a fan in me for life, a man crush like Ranveer.... you have been under the radar for a long... you are very inspiring. ...please share your insight as and when your time allows. wish you all good health... respect you are our pride jai hind
Very knowledgeable podcast. Watching from Atlanta USA. Future is very bright for my beloved motherland. I watch your podcast on regular basis and enjoy them while learning lot of life lessons and spirituality.
I love how learned this guy is.. not just theoretically, but in application and practice.. kudos for the genius of not overpumping the Indian supply and thus overpumping imports when the world demand is falling. That's brilliance.. and it was you who suggested that. Thank you for your expertise sir..
The way this heavy topic explained with example and in simplest understandable language by Sandip Sanyal is extraordinary.
Hats off.
Please do more podcast with him.
I work in fiscal turnaround here in US with communities here whose economies were purposefully destabilized for the past 200 years.
I LOVED this interview so much. So much wisdom. Inspiring to say the least.
Thank you! 198 more interviews needed with Mr. Sanyal!!! 😂
He is Gem of Bharat 🇮🇳🚩..... supreme bless him 🕉️🚩
Sanjeev sanyals history books and lectures are eye opening. Maybe do a history podcast with him next.
Wow!!! What a discussion? I am a home maker of 50 years old and feel in love with the show and big thank you beerbiceps for such kind of intellectual podcasts
Wow - huge macroeconomics in crisp brilliant micro podcast .... Sanjeev sanyal is one of the Navratans in current dispensation 👌 thanks ranveer for bringing him and yes 198 more podcasts to go from this gem of a person....

Sanjeev is just wonderful to listen to, thanks Ranveer ❤.
Lovely. It's amazing how you get these legends to the show. This guy is an encyclopedia. One will be even more awestruck to know his family background. Also as a personality... A guy who's a black belt in Taekwondo... Practical guy who relishes cuisines across the globe, a top notch corporate hero & now part of the leadership team driving Bharat to the position that it was historically. I'm a fan. So nice you got him here and so many fantastic perspectives one get everytime you listen to him. Thanks so much Allahabadia ji :-)
He is a true gem thank God we have economic advisor like him 🚩🙏🏻🇮🇳❤️
One of the most insightful episodes of TRS, in terms of how a common people of this country can look at the economic side.
You make it look so easy and perfect but the hardwork behind seems to be crazy....no doubt that you ask to the point questions...its all your experiences and consistency and of course your thrist for knowledge..💯✨️
Most insightful episode I’ve watched! Damn, I didn’t know the impact a ruling govt can have. How far we’ve come in this short period as a result of reforms is unbelievable. I’m so gonna vote this time and make sure the right govt is in place. The congress really ruined everything for us for so long indeed, lol.
Another amazing episode. Such brilliance this entire team is. You cannot rehearse intelligence. There is immense brain in all this braun that Modi Government has. Just loving all this mind brewing and evolution of India through it. 🇮🇳
In fact Congress has a policy of criminalising economic activities or doing business since the very beginning of its occupation of Bharat.
Hey Ranveer,
I saw the talk show you did with Dr Alok Sharma.
About the doctor:
Dr.

I am glad people like him are leading my country
Sanjeev sanyal sir doing a good job. As a teacher I appreciate his attempt to simplify things. An wonderful podcast
one thing that is very clear is that even bureaucrats appointed by the current government are very 'Bharatiya' at heart. The examples he quoted about Shukracharya, Brihaspati and Chanakya and how he related them to modern day economics is awesome.

Sanyal Sir's advice on flexibility and resilience really clicked with me. He is correct that things don't go as per the grand vision every time.
Every word coming out of this persons mouth is pure gold! Thanks for this podcast Ranveer! 👌🏻
Coincidentally, I watched his last episode yesterday. And after watching these two episodes he really changed the way of my thinking and my whole perspective.
People who really are able to take advantage of it, are not people with great plans,
but the people who are able to take advantage of opportunities as they emerge.... Powerful statement
My respect for Mr Sanyal grows more everytime I listen to him in various fora. Please bring him back again soon. Credit to Ranveer for not getting defensive or irritated when he gets 'corrected' by his illustrious guests.
