Hey mate.! If its constructed similarly to the city sling the aer logo located on the inside wall of the bag closest to your body is only sewn across the top and bottom and can be used to store a pen if you slide it through the open sides. Solves your problem for storing that sharpie👌🏻
I don't think the "finger" loop is designed for the purpose you mentioned but it's good to know it can work for that use case too. I believe it's meant to hang the bag on a hook or to attach gear to the bag, a carabiner or whatever gear you choose to. I'm receiving this bag tomorrow and I'm excited, I've seen so many reviews that I feel I already owned the bag for years haha. I have the City Sling 2 and it's great but I wanted to give this one a test because there's many features I prefer compared to the City Sling which I love too but I guess there will be specific use scenarios where this one will shine better. Good review.
@@DesmondCheng No problem, thank you for the review, it helped. I received my Day Sling 3 today and I absolutely love it. I tried what you said with the "fingerloop" and it works but it will never work for me in that specific scenario since I wear it on my left shoulder but it works as a finger loop for quick grabbing with one finger since the actually carry handle on the back it's a bit hidden so it's not as easy to grab.
Very good review. I wonder if you can fit sunglasses vertically into one of those mesh pockets. The lack of dedicated pocket for shades is my main con for this bag.
Hey Desy, what are your thoughts material and style wise between xpac and ballistic nylon? I like the orange inner lining but the xpac’s outer X marks doesnt look as clean as the ballistic nylon version. Are the X marks that visible? and material wise is it more silky feeling compared to the ballistic nylon? Cheers
I just ordered the x-pac because I liked how it looks blacker and is more waterproof. Being in the Pacific Northwest, I get caught in random rain showers all the time.
I have the city sling and had the same concern as i use it on my motorcycle. I genuinely had no problem with it, theyre very sturdy. I did end up cutting a piece of bike inner tube and stretching it over the buckle system. But that was mainly cause i didnt want to damage it. The only downside is that you have to take the sling off over your head, which i do anyway
Seen a few videos of the aer day sling 3 and nobody shows if it can fit Nintendo switch or iPad mini. It helps to see if we can users can make use of it
Hi Desy. I'm in the search of a sling, and this looks solid. But so is the Bellroy Venture 6l. Hm.. maybe I should get both of them. Thanks for the review!
@@errydm I ended up ordering the Aer Day Sling 3 yesterday! I was torn between it and the new Bellroy Venture Sling 2.5L. Eventually decided on the Aer because it has a bit more space if I need it, plus places to hang my hat on an S-clip.
I saw on their web site it fits the iPad Mini 6 on the stash compartment where he puts the folded envelope and a Nintendo Switch on the main compartment. I think I'll order one since my small one is a Moment Sling Fanny and I have a larger Peak Design 5L for my mirror less and around 3 lenses. This one would be a sweet spot where I can fit my camera and 1/2 compact primes (I use Fujifilm)
Thanks a ton for the camera comparisons. Ive been going back and forth between regular and max because in some videos the regular just seems tiny. From the looks of it, and please correct if I’m wrong, something like an M Body with a lens and small water bottle should fit. And maybe without the water even a little insert for protection will fit.
@@interdigitate I went with a different bag. Bellroy Venture Sling 9l. I would advice you to get the max at least, even my 9l bag is very tight with camera, bottle and random stuff.
Would you do a comparo of the Bellroy Venture 9L vs Aer Day Sling 3 Max? Thank you. I am looking for a sling that can accommodate my Canon M6 and 32mm 1.4 lens. Grrat write up. Thank you.
I found myself struggling to make purchase decision between aer day sling 3 and peak design sling 3L. Which one you would recommend and any main reason(s) for that? Thx.
Im actually struggling with aer day slung 3 vs bellroy venture 6L. I have the pd everyday 6L for when I need to carry a camera. To be honest, I find the 3L to be so camera ish oriented bag and not an edc bag as its so bulky. The venture 6L looks so much nicer than the aer day sling 3 however the bellroy costs twice as much as this aer day sling 3.
@@andrewcatimbang1509 Agreed upon PD being exist more towards camera bag (however I personally plan to use for EDC) and bulky side (even though its 3L). But, I really dig the build quality and convenience of adjustable strap on it. Bellroy venture also interesting, but isn't it 6L too big for minimalist EDC?
@@quinnsdale the venture 6L is half the size of the PD 3L. So it makes a good edc bag. Measuring by liters is very tricky as it really depends on the design of the bag.
I'm disappointed with mine, I was hoping it would fit an iPad mini 6... it sort of does, but not with a pencil and it feels stretched and uncomfortable, sending it back and getting the Max.
Watched another video and they showed how easy the clip on the city can be undone when wearing it on the front and stolen so I ordered the Day sling instead. Definitely liked the flatness of the city more but very poor buckle placement, makes more sense here
@@chiquita683 I sold my CS2 xpac which I’ve been using for the past 6 months and recently ordered the DS3 xpac. From my experience, CS2 isn’t even flat at all. If you try pack it out, it looks and feels really boxy on your body. The strap placement makes it uncomfortable to wear especially the huge buckle that is placed on the center. Aesthetically, CS2 is better but functionality and comfort wise, DS3 is much superior.
@@chiquita683 The fidlock on the CS2 is actually more secure than the DS3 if you keep the buckle in front because it isn't so huge like the one on the DS3/Max, plus if you sling the DS3 on your back with the buckle at the back, it is easy for someone to tug at the huge fidlock and pull the bag away in one move, so for both bags it is better to keep the buckle in front if you want security either way.
@@shersurewin Yeah the CS1 is flatter, CS2 can be flat if you fold the sides in and don't put too much inside. Either way both also bulk like a brick if it is fully. DS3's bottom can be folded so it can be flat.
