One thing I really hope for the next day sling version is if they could add a small side buckle in the middle of the strap to further secure the sling (especially for the aer day sling max) to the back of your body. Beside that the aer day sling is my favorite sling whenever I don't wanna being my boox go 10.3 ereader. Excellent video Sir! I'm going to pick up 2 new iPads for this Christmas, an 11" Air for my wife and a Mini for me. You've given me some great ideas to go with both iPads. Merry Christmas and keep up the great work!
Obsidian is key for me. It also works on Android. I like the fact that my files are still just text files and not some proprietary format. I loved Ulysses, but it was difficult to get your files out of it.
Grate video! I just wish the tech world would make a line of slings that catered to us EDC guys. I fill myself bouncing back and forth from a tech sling to my edc sling. Closest to fit both worlds for me is the 511 18L sling.
That's a nice gear. I can fit my setup literally in my pocket. I have a samsung fold 6, folding keyboard, microft arc mouse (folds flat) and a special carrier that carries all cables, sd cards and hdmi. With samsung with DeX it runs as a desktop on any TV or monitor. Or just have it open using a ring stand. Ive used this setup for about 8 months now without needing a laptop.
just curious, why would type emails on the go with a keybaord and mouse when its much faster to type direct from the screen. Pretty old fashioned. I stopped typing from my laptop since its much faster to type on a tablet/phone, a keyboard will just slow you down since you have to type the whole word
Good video. 👍🏽I am currently using a M2 iPad Air 512gb. I use it for most of my computing related tasks. I too use it for teaching my weekly bible study. It has been great for creating the studies & for presenting them. I use Pages for document creation, Keynote & Freeform for presentations. Apple Notes is also a great tool. For my financial management needs, I use Numbers & Jumsoft Money. iPads are great for doing work despite what most content creators say.
Love my field notes pocket book. Nice to finally see someone else edc it. Those magnets 🤌🏽 I returned the grey for the black and plan to get the tan color as well edit: omg I haven’t seen that RC game since I was a kid
Great set up! I looked at that Nitecore MT1A. Unfortunately, it only starts on last memorized mode. I'd like to both: 1) come in on low from off and more importantly 2) have quick access to turbo from off. No way to do both with the Nitecore. If you memorize turbo, you are going to blast everyone at the restaurant when looking at the menu. if you memorize moonlight, you have to step through the modes in a tactical situation.
@@LandmanEDC In the 14500 size similar to the MT1A Pro, I like the Weltool T1 Pro V2 or Pro Tac. The Pro Tac is more tactical of the two. Neither are quite as bright as the MT1A Pro, but both have great tint and hot spots. In the 18650, there are a couple that are still in the "not too fat" 23-24 mm diameter range that work well - the Wurkkos FC12 and Olight Warrior 3 Mini. The Olight is not going to be as bright but will have better run times. The FC12 can actually be shortened with an 18350 tube and battery. This is what I currently carry in tactical mode. Instant access to moonlight. Instant access to turbo. From on, it's one click to medium and double click to strobe. Another 18350 choice is the Baton Turbo. I would carry that if it had the tail switch/side switch UI like the Warrior Mini 3. Side switch alone is no bueno for me. YMMV. I believe Olight is running a sale next week.
So I tried the Keys 2 Go, very good. But I didn’t prefer it for a couple of reasons. 1 - despite being super thin, it still wouldn’t fit in this sling. 2 - I needed more travel in the keys while I typed. The Keys 2 Go is a lot like the first iPad Pro keyboard Apple put out like 5-6 years ago - and it’s good, I just like scissor switches. Excellent suggestion though, and people should definitely check that board out too!
Nice setup bro! I too own an Aer Day Sling 3 X-Pac for daily use for the past 1-2 years now. I definitely like the size relative to my body, but the fidlock has been giving me trouble a few times. Aer recently made an Ultra version of the sling bag and changed the contraption lock, so I might have to switch over sometime soon 🤔
I've had a lot of issues with this fidlock coming undone, my day sling falls on the ground at least once a day 😅 i now use a strap keeper to hold the fidlock together since I dont need it anyway...
I have the exact same keyboard for my mini desk, but I'm on a budget and on the android ecosystem so I am running a nokia t10 tablet, and I use wired headphones with a usb-c to 3.5mm audio out fiio headphone amp so there's one less thing I have to keep charged. God bless!

So I AM going to be writing novels on this... how comfortable is that keyboard for typing? I've been on the hunt for the prefect folding keyboard for years.
@@KevinTumlinson So honestly if you literally want to write novels, I’d highly recommend the Apple Magic Keyboard. It’s not foldable, but it’s incredibly slim and compact and can slide very easily into a backpack. And they typing experience is top-notch.
@@LandmanEDC Yeah, that's one I use (I'm taking that and a trackpad with me to Vegas this week, for an author conference). Another that is portable and comfortable for writing on the go is the Logitech K380 Pebble. I've been able to fit that in the pocket of a pair of cargo shorts (not perfectly, but good enough to keep my hands free when I needed it). Excellent setup. Not one that fits me, quite as it is, though. I'm just not prone to tablets, and I gather that the centerpole of your assembly is the smallest bag that can lodge an iPad Mini. But I can't deny it's well thought and allows to carry a whole working system, and totally on a mobile scope. I'm a laptop guy, so I use a backpack, and satchels don't quite fit me for an on-the-go approach. However, back to your system, I am, indeed, also a fanny pack guy, and an adaptation of your system could fit me; I'm gonna gnaw on this video for a while. Perhaps moving from a fanny pack to a small crossdraw bag (meaning smaller than a satchel). BTW it streaks me that you are a non-multitool geek! No SAK, no Leatherman, etc., but instead a psycho-surgeon blade. Haha, just a nag. I'll be around. Be well.
