I'm glad you mentioned the iClever BK05 and how much you enjoyed it. I found a used one on sale for $35 and bought a micro usb to USB C addaptor with the money I saved and it seems to work pretty damn good.
Good videos! Put more info on the screen, the rating, price, name, and elaborate on your favorite of the bunch. Ive subbed. Which one would you recommend with a trackpad in the budget options?
This is a fantastic roundup. Subbed. When you say passthrough, this means it has a usb data connection right? Im only browsing these because im a pc technician so bluetooth not useful to me! Thanks!
I'm old school and need one of these keyboard/touchpads that allows me to plug-n-play with a USB cable. My scenario is that I work in the field and need to plug into headless devices. I do not have the ability to add a BT device, so most of these newer foldables are useless to me. I need a foldable keyboard/touchpad that I can plug into any PC and start using (with my portable monitor. Any product suggestions?
Hi there! thanks for making effort of reviewing these foldable keyboards, it is really helpful! I've got a question and wondering if you could answer it: I'm using MAC, the reason I'm looking for a keyboard is that I need to use Windows keyboard shortcuts in Excel, do you think the iClever BK08 will allow me to use Window shortcut in Excel on my MAC? Thank you so much for your time!
Windows have their own shortcuts. They should have similar ones for Mac. Would just lookup them up, but the keyboard would allow the Mac versions to work.
@@VeryLastDollar Great, thanks for the answer. I'm also thinking about the Logitech k380, if I let go the touchpad, since the silent feature would be more important to me.
Thanks for the videos, very appreciated it, I have a question, Are these foldable keyboards dual mode compatible?( means that it can be used via Bluetooth or USB type c connection)
That iClever BK06 looks more like micro-USB than USB-C, and that's what the specs say too. It looks identical to the Perixx 805E and the Targus Ergonomic Foldable. I assume same factory, but not sure if one of the three is the actual designer/manufacturer or if all three are rebadging it.
Thanks for the reviews! At this point, are there any good full-sized (laptop-sized) keyboards like the bk05 that have USB-C and work in wired mode? Or should I resign myself to getting the bk05 and living with micro-USB?
@@VeryLastDollar Yeah, that one would be tempting but it doesn't serve the primary function of being convenient to pack. The bk05 looks like it would fit in a pocket alongside a phone; the rk925 looks awesome but impractical.
Really appreciate ur effort & hard work to put out something like that, keep it up 💯 Did u consider checking out the new ProtoArc xk02 (xk01 numpad swapped to trackpad) near future ?
I got the Iclever BK08 about a year ago, based on yours and other reviews. While it was great while it lasted, now a year later with only light usage, some of the keys are not working. So dissappointed..I am now thinking to try out the new Keys 2 Go 2. for my ipad mini. I have a feeling that Folding keyboards are prone to malfunction due to the moving parts...
Thank you for the video :) I would like to know if the BOW Upgraded keyboard is flimsy? Can it be used on rough surface and sturdy like IClever BK08? Im kinda struggle between the two, I like BK08's sturdiness but not sure if it worth missing the Multi-Touch gestures for that.
Between metal and plastic, there is a noticeable difference in quality and sturdiness. The trackpad for bow is bigger and more useful. Quality bk08 id better.
Does the XK01 number pad work in IOS? No one doing reviews of this unit show it working, and I read from some user comments on Amazon that it does not work. The number pad specifically for typing numbers does not work in IOS. Can you confirm?
I am pretty sure mine has always worked. You’re talking about Protoarc correct? I know they have like two or three variants of the same one. Are you talking about the one that can connect with three devices over Bluetooth, or the one that can connect up to two over Bluetooth, and the one with the dongle connectivity? Right now, I just have the one with the dongle connectivity in the kit . When I get home, I can throw up a short video about it.
In general, I always prefer foldable keyboards with six-row layout and integrated touchpad. Out of all foldable keyboards shown here, the ProtoArc XK01 is my favourite since there's another version with full-sized touchpad instead of numpad. The obVus could be a worthy budget choice, but the touchpad is a real missed opportunity. The iClever's BK05 and BK08 could have been great products if there's an integrated touchpad and six-row layout respectively. Speaking of foldable keyboards in general, Samsers Foldable BT Keyboard should be in the list too.
I feel as it’s a bit more practical, it’s a bigger keyboard and slightly more useful trackpad. If the bk08 was a bit bigger and had more gestures with the trackpad it would have been perfect. Only if it was a little bigger.
Last year after watching your vid, I bought the BK08 and checked out the upgraded BOW. Ended up keeping the BK08! One thing I wish- normal size keyboard layout. But portability has compromises.
@@VeryLastDollarThis is very confusing, man: 1. The same upgraded BOW keyboard with the 3 yellow QWE buttons is also sold under another brand - Artciety 2. There's something confusing about all these sticker-branded products. Any clue about this numeric key imprint model? I tried to attach a screenshot link but it erased my comment here
My BK5 is killing me with the no USB-C, but other than that I love it, it's still going strong after 2 years. I think it's the only one so far that has back lit keys. When they upgrade this I am so going to buy it.

Good video, thx for the info! I. The end, ended up going with the Geyes foldable with USB-C. Really wish the BOW HB199 came with USB-C, that looks like the ultimate choice for portability
Living in Malaysia, it seems nearly impossible to find the Bow updated version. I'm seeing an online store that sells bow products, but they aren't listing the updated version. Seems like the older one. I feel like that's the best one for me. Price is about Usd35 here.
@@VeryLastDollar aww thanks so much though. Your vids on foldable bluetooth keyboards are so helpful. Curious if you have tried the ones that fold in half just once the long way
Useful video, thanks. You tend to have a rising inflection and emphasis at the end of every sentence fragment. It was more pronounced in some sections than others. If you try to develop a way of recording the voice-over that strings things together in longer sentences it might reduce that, assuming you don't naturally speak that way which will require a bit more effort to retrain yourself. As an Australian I’m used to people speaking with a rising inflection at the end of sentences so it was really just the parts (especially early on) where it made your VO drag a bit with the slightly monotonous rhythm… I'm only commenting because overall it was a good video, this is just feedback on one aspect.
Of all the portable and foldable keyboards you reviewed, zero of them have a touch pad built in while also having the ESC key be the primary function of the upper left most key. That's disappointing.
I have the IClever BK09, works fine with PC, but NOT with Samsung phone. External USB keyboards and mouse used to work fine with my Samsung Galaxy S10+. Now the mouse still works via USB with its usual dongle, but keyboard is merely recognized by Android 12 but will not input keystrokes. Now and then if I press lots of keys I may pop up my Camera function or some other rather random thing will happen. When I go to enter text my on-screen Samsung keyboard doesn't pop up, indicating that my external USB keyboard is attached, but then I can't get the keyboard to enter text. Same problem with various bluetooth keyboards. They are recognized and identified by name correctly by Android 12 but will just not enter text. Nobody seems to know much about this problem, as all I keep getting is how I need the OTG connector and all that, but there should be a pretty SIMPLE fix to what used to work fine. I have tried USB debugging turned on and off, restarting and so forth. Tried an external keyboard APP and it did nothing to help.
