    "This song really captured the shoegaze sound I have loved for years. Where I had sprinkled elements of shoegaze throughout the album, this song was 100% unapologetically shoegaze." - Klayton (Celldweller)
    Offworld, Celldweller's fourth vocal-based studio album departs from the project's signature sound of aggressive guitars, blasting beats and ass-kicking intensity and delivers a journey of sentimental feels and emotionally gripping tracks, showcasing the intimate song-writing side of project mastermind, Klayton.
    The album's 11 tracks range from the soul searching "How Little I Must Know," to the modern shoegazer "Echoes," the somber a cappella "Mother's Arms," to the acoustic guitar driven "The Great Divide," and the heavy, yet atmospheric vibe of "Last Night on Earth." The album begins and ends with the title track & reprise of "Offworld," which gives the album a narrative backdrop as a sci-fi adventure of leaving the world behind - perhaps to explore a new one or join life on the other side, closing the album experience with a familiar Celldweller lyric... "we will never die." The digital/CD version of the album include a bonus remix by Ulrich Schnauss (Tangerine Dream).
    Strap in and prepare to hit the launch button on this other-worldly adventure and "go offworld tonight."

    Step 1: Play song.
    Step 2: Lay on your back.
    Step 3: Close your eyes.
    Step 4: Imagine yourself floating through space.
    I kinda feel like this music video didn't really do the song justice. I guess it fits, but it's certainly not what I picture when I hear the song. Kinda gave me the same feeling I had with the Down to Earth music video, where it felt like I was watching a music video with the wrong song playing over it.
    Still a really well shot and intriguing music video, though, just not really what I was expecting to see.

      Easy now, Everyone has their own interpretation of a work of art. that goes for music too.
      We all picture things differently (that's a good thing)

    • @WarriorWithin111
      @WarriorWithin111 7 лет назад +6

      "This is not about you" huh? Here's a direct quote from Klayton about the album:
      "I made this album being uncertain whether or not anyone would particularly like it, but that’s pretty much how I make all my albums. I do hope you find songs in here that hit you in the feels and can become the soundtrack to some of your life’s memories, in-the-making." - Klayton
      I've been following Klayton's work since 2005, and the reason I find him to be the greatest artist of all time is because I can identify most of his songs to a part of my life; most notably his early Celldweller stuff to my teenage years. Isn't finding yourself in a piece of art the definition of appreciating it?
      As for the music videos, I can relate because often times it goes against your vision of what the song is about / what it's supposed to represent (as described above). Nothing wrong with the artist showing us his own vision of it, mind you; it's just that usually it's not what some of us had in mind about the song.

    Look, it's a young Klayton xD
    Honestly though this is for everyone who needs a good walk through a place they have made many memories/experiences, the good and bad.
    The Seven Sisters play as guides for those who look beyond the atmosphere towards the stars; seeking an out of body experience.

    I love how Celldweller has evolved over the last 15 years, and how the sound can range anywhere from deep introspective melody to hard-thumping raging metal and techno. You are a musician (musicians?) of many talents and I am always eager to see what you bring next!

    • @blakebelladonna9075
      @blakebelladonna9075 2 года назад +1

      No, musician is right. Besides guest spots/production assistance on rare occasions, Celldweller is a one-man band, and as much as he uses synthesizers, all guitars, bass, and drums/other instruments are real and all played by him.

      Arc Blackheart There is no "they". It's just Klayton. He has musicians play with him for live shows but he does all the instruments himself in the studio. And if you mean he hasn't gotten famous in the celebrity Billboard Top 40 sense of the word then yeah. But he has quite a good following.

    This is somehow the most touching love song I have ever heard. A clash of spirituality and synthesizers has brought me into a world I've never felt, one of confusion but comfort. I'm feeling something new, just by listening to your music. This is an experience that I can not record, but document in hope to emulate this feeling for eternity.

    This song came on when I was printing out photos for a picture frame. The photos I originally picked I had in a folder on my desktop and was going to print them before my folks came to visit for Labor Day last year. I never printed them because my mother ended up in the hospital and passed away 2 months later. Echoes..passing by...it really hit me when looking through the pictures i picked originally...and decided to chose different ones given the circumstances. This song just haunted me as certain new pictures just jumped out that I chose. I hear the echoes of these memories..holding on..but wanting to let go....Truly beautiful song, shivering vocals, and had me smiling yet crying at the same time.

    Nah, this album is definitely not for me. It's boring as hell, sorry to say that. I listen to Celldweller for a reason, and it's not because I care a lot about Klayton's acousticly transcribed emotions. I love the mix of heavy guitars and tons and tons of heavy electronics. Call me shallow or whatever but I really don't support the vocal minority (or majority)'s opinion that this is good in any way. How is it good? If it didn;t have the Celldweller name in front of it, I'd never hear it or wait for the end of the song. Man that's fucking boring. And the awful vocal effects... wth, seriously?
