Hi everyone. I'm totally blown away by the nice comments and positive vibes. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to the album. It was a labor of love and I'm so glad that most of you are really enjoying it. Ollie and I really appreciate it. Thank you!
+FM-84 You deserve all the praise you guys can get. You make some other worldly awesome music. As soon as I heard the album for the first time? I immediately bought it off of Bandcamp. And I rarely ever do that. Atlas was that good. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to hear more.
i went into this album cold. i knew nothing about the artist or the tracks. started with some nice vibes, but nothing prepared me for "Running In The Night". I was completely blind-sided by every aspect of this track. Lightning in a bottle. Bravo.
If its any consolation, Theres more to this reality then we can initially percieve. He is out there somewhere. MAybe listening to what ever current reality he exists in version of FM-84. Could be that everytime you hear it, so is he. I usually save this notion for my family. But When ever someone is gone, it moves me to reassure people, there is more. Ive seen it. I experienced it. I saw it. The reason we cant understand it or see it until that time, is because reality is quantified in a way that that allows us to only see whats in front of us. Humans are evolving to see more. But nature designed us this way so we arent vulnerable in states of deep deep meditation, viewing something happening in another universe, or on the other side of the planet. This is why many people lose faith. BEcause they cant see past their own initial impressions of this reality. I was an atheist. a hardcore atheist. BEcause of my own fear and bitterness. Then I died and was unlucky enough to have to come back, since i didnt really want to. I wont project whether or not its a chrisitan experience for other people. That aspect seems to comfort people. But not me. Im fascinated by the cosmic nature of what we are as a species, and our connection to the living universe. Ive seen things, most people wouldnt believe. But once you see it, and feel what i felt, you feel it always. The realization never goes away, the experience never leaves your perception again. I truly wish i could share that experience with everyone on the planet. I think it would tie us together as one singular cosmic species. Rather then a planet of many. The experience, its not a dream, its no different then how i am typing this comment right now. You lose nothing of yourself or the memories of the ones you love and those who love you. In that place, I found myself feeling melancholy for my family. We have a deeper connection to the universe. We just arent fully aware of it, until it is unlocked within our minds. I think I was made to come back, so i can help people realize these aspects. My theories have predated other forms of quantum mechanics that pertain to passing on. I think I am meant to do something with the knowledge. Since I didnt choose to come back. My will to go on was spent. BEcause i was tired of my life and by extension the pain I experience every day. I grew up in an abusive family. But not in the way people think. My parents love me. They just didnt know how to raise or discipline teenagers since I had an older sibling that was my polar opposite. But I even faced physical abuse from that sibling as well. BEcause we are a violent family. But considering im the smallest, that violence was inflicted on me when i did something wrong, because there was no one else to carry my families baggage. I met something out there made of light and love.- When I could feel myself growing tired, and being brought back from this other reality, I asked this being who was watching over me, like a nurse who finds a child wondering around a hospital. SCARED and alone. I asked it, if it would let me stay, there with them. But later I came to understand that was not yet my place. It was not my time. And that I should never feel like my time here is being wasted. Cause its not. Since every milisec is a gift. I feel that connection even now. When I close my eyes, i can still feel the warmth and radiance from that being, and have its image burned into my mind. And before it laid me back down in a black mist before waking up here, IT gave me a gift. It touched me on my forehead. and after I woke up, my mind kept expanding, more and more and more, to the point where I can feel other people around me, feel what they do just by being within my range. Now I can rebuild a car engine based on common sense and understanding of mechanical engineering. Rejoice. YOu will see him again. I swear it.

On January 1st, 1980, my dad had 16 years of young age. My mom, 14. Imagine entering the magical decade of the 80s old enough to remeber every single thing, but young enough to actually ENJOY the world around you with the eyes and the healthy body of a teenager! We don't have this, my friends, but we can share the spirit and pray to God let our kids and/or grandkids have the same experience our parents once had, the opportunity of a lifetime.

I am 51, but many years ago at Walt Disney World in the Tomorrowland Cafe, there was a show, Michael Iceberg and The Amazing Iceberg Machine. Basically it was a late 70's early 80's huge synthesizer keyboards. Needless to say the show was amazing and funny. It was then I had a love for this style of music. If you can find videos of Michael Iceberg, watch them.
Goodbye with Clive Farrington makes me feel like a teenager again in about 1987 driving around the lakes of Minneapolis in my '74 red Chevy Nova on one of those endless summer nights.
was listening to synthwave playlists for a few weeks now while playing with my friends and randomly came by this one, i've been keeping it on an extra tab on every occasion and "Running in the night" always manages to put a smile on my face and gives me this nostalgic feeling about me and my dad in his car traveling and listening to 90s/2000s music he had from his time. This one is special to me.
Großartiges Album für alle 80s Fans. Gerade für 7.99 bei Amazon gekauft. Gibt's zwar hier im streaming, aber wer so gute Musik macht, sollte auch unterstützt werden. Also: Erst anhören, dann kaufen.
I'm 44 and always luv the 80s. I'm glad they are bringing back the tunes. Feel good vibe of positive energy rushing through out my body. Thanks so much; FM-84, The Midnight, Kavinsky, Chvrches, and all of you.
Synth with lyrics is absolutely amazing! 80s was the story telling age of music compared to today's music. "Running In The Night" is a great example. Thanks for sharing.
8 Years later and still one of my All Time favorite Albums of this genre, every time I come back to it, I wish I could listen to it new again. It's incredible that I can feel nostalgic for something which was derived from the nostalgic era that is the 1980s, of which I was not apart of. Always good to tune into FM-84!
I was born in 1984 and I always loved synth sound, since I discovered retro wave I felt like someone was bringing me back to those years and immediately I feel like home. Thank you Fm 84,I deeply love you.
This was the album that put me on the retrowave scene when I first heard it in 2017. It represented a time in my life of tremendous change. Went through a bad breakup, dropped out of college and moved to a new city. But with Atlas on repeat? It felt like anything was possible.
My friend has been trying to get me into Retro/synthwave for the last 2 years and I never really bothered listening to much because I'm primarily a metalhead. He sent me a bunch of Pertubator stuff and I found it a bit 'techno' but just recently he introduced me to The Midnight and I fell in love with their sound which has now led me to this album which is just sublime in every way :) Thanks to New Retro Wave I have a LOT of new acts to discover and I can't believe its taken me so long to get into this stuff!

It is 9am I am sitting on my rental homes small patio with a blue sky and sun directly on my face. Wearing an Xmen cartoon shirt, remembering my father, big brother, sister, and mother. Not stopping there I recall my ancestors to enjoy in this with me. And any of you that would care to sit and just silently remember with us, are more then welcome.
This album is not just a gateway to the 80s, it's an escape to a world that knows no hatred, no stigma, no labels and insecurities, where innocence is not naivety and love is love without adjectives (gay love, straight love, forbidden love etc.) because love is just beautiful no matter who shares it. Well, that might seem cheesy, but hey, people say the 80s were cheesy and now there's a huge revival! Thank you for your beautiful music.
I don't normally leave comments on RUclips but I have to say this music is absolutely amazing - listening to it when I'm coding websites - loving it so much right now...
Born in '68, I grew up in London and other places, listened to all the 80's music and I feel so lucky for the freedom we had back then and the music of course !
I am absolutely shocked that I am just only now discovering this insanely good music. It touches a place in my soul that I cannot begin to describe how it feels.
MerkeD Gaming Yeap, I like to support things I like, typically by the exchange of legal tender. It shows support in hopes they will produce more of X product, in this case, music.
MerkeD, your intro with the X-01 Armor is good, man, the zooming in (I am sure there is a technical term for it) on the armor with that backdrop is sick.
Adam Armstrong Thanks bro it wasnt that hard doing the backdrop though because all I had to do was go into the water which turned black anyways and then i added some words fading in. Thanks man!
I remember hearing the track "Tears" a couple of months ago on this channel and I played it in the car with my friends during a night drive. Memory Created. Thanks NewRetroWave for sharing the great music from these amazing talents.
I own a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado as my first car. Listening to this cruising down the highway at night in the summer, windows down, blasting this over the Bose speakers is nothing short of a vibe on it's own. Car full of friends, going 85 with no care in the world, just having fun. What a time.
OMG, I just discovered this group now....they have been here 7 years and I am disgusted with myself that I never knew during that time. This group ROCKS!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING I HAVE LISTENED to. 🤟🤟 THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!
I was in the 5th grade in '85 - '86 and heard this music everywhere and saw happy people in their 80's fashions. I felt like I was in a magical kingdom where anything was possible. We need another 80's type decade to come back soon! Bring back the positive vibes and get rid of the negativity that seems to be plaguing us right and left these days!
i'm from '97 and i like this kind of music as for 90% of the music genres out there, i used to love music from my teen year as for punk rock or just 90's 2000's music which i've grown up with.. i guess it's all about memories and the fact that our musical taste defines it self around the age of 12 till 16 so basically this explains why you like it so much now that Synthwave brings it back, i'm actually trying to make some stuff like this but i need to get hit by the 80's harder to understand better what makes it so bright, colorful and cool. i'm starting to appreciate more music by getting older, and yeah i used to listen a bit of songs such as ''sweet dreams'' or iconic music from 70's/80's, not only this but rock too and maan, music is good nowadays but yesterdays music had that feeling that today's got corrupted by saturation on ideas and untalented people that just look for money instead of inspiration. sorry for my bad english, have a nice day
Well when this trainwreck of a decade finally ends 11:59PM on December 31st, 2019, we can start anew hopefully with even better vibes than the '80s (but hopefully making this music mainstream in the process.) ;)
To me this ERA never died. I never left the 80's. I continued to watch 80's movies and VHS throughout the 90's and 2000's..everybody laughed at me.. Who's laughing now...It's baaaaaaack!
The 30 year rule sure has kicked in pretty good if you ask me, and I'm overjoyed. Being a 2000s kid, I never got to experience the awesomeness that was the '80s and never truly will. But, this nostalgia craze has completely swept me off my feet and I'm jamming to new-retro vibes all the time!
I got some wireless headphones recently, and the last few nights since this was released I've been sitting on my roof listening to it on repeat and looking up at the stars. It's sounds corny but there's no way to describe how this music can make you feel. My parents were really into disco / funk / synth in the late 70s and through the 80's, and I remember listening to similar stuff growing up on vinyl, and every time I hear this stuff I can just picture being 5 or 6 again even though I can't actually remember that time. But the feeling is there and it hurts sometimes to hold onto. drunk guy .. out
Ollie Wride (tracks 2, 7 and 8)...my God that guy can sing! Fantastic album. Takes some stylistic elements from the 80s but does it's own thing with them.
@@zaubertricks7627 track 2 is perfect pal, I'm guessing its because it stirs up an emotional connection within your own life is the reason it hurts your soul... as musically its outstanding.
+nomadovic Doesn't even need to be empty. I put on a retro wave/dreamwave/synthwave playlist and drive through Los Angeles at night every chance I get. It's the most calming and energizing thing I do for myself.
I found myself listening to this album throughout the 2020 quarantine. I was one of the lucky ones that year. I had a year off paid in full. I played video games, exercised more, learned lots of guitar covers, and redecorated my home. The summer that year was gorgeous, and there was hardly anyone in the streets. It was a good year. For me, at least.
That's awesome man! I'm honestly jealous. I had to go to work every day and push myself harder to make up for sick coworkers, maternity leave coworkers, and people getting burnt out and quitting to pursue other interests. We've been running on bare bone staff for the last two years and my depression is at an all time high. I never got rest and I feel too burnt out to fix anything anymore. Hope you continue to flourish my friend. And I'm genuinely happy the pandemic was a refresher for some folks.
That was 2020 for my family as well...except for the part about listening to this album. One of the best years of our lives inside the home - while hell raged outside. Such a strange juxtaposition.
@@DawnPeacock That's a really poetic way of putting it. "The best years of our lives, while hell raged outside...". I might use that for one of my songs.
This album, Scandroid, and pinball pulled me through a period of depression a couple years back. I've entered a sort of aimless phase in my life, and I find myself coming back to Atlas. This is the kind of music that can give men like me hope that there's still a place for us in a world where we never really belonged in the first place.
just discovered this OMG wow that track at 8:51 " Tears" my mind is blown. It just nails early 80's for me. relived my memories. Thank You. FM-84 should be Knighted!
This album is unlike and beyond any other retro synth music I have ever heard, I've been listing to Synth music since I was a child starting with Emerson Lake and Palmer and others but nobody can attain such beautiful music such as album. When I start it and from beginning to ending I am transfixed into another state of mind that is pure heavenly. FM-84 your on the right track for your fans. Don't stop a good thing when you know you have it.
Atlas is now fully streaming on NRW and is also OUT NOW!

I know right? It's one of my favorite Synthwave tracks.
My favorite
I actually like a few songs more like Arcade Summer, which flows so softly. That being said, not a bad song here.
My favorite
On xmas eve me and my wife did a 10k run, it was cold, dark and heavy rain set in, then i heard this track and it was perfect 😂
Thank God that there are artists bringing new wave back.
What an amazing & exciting Back-to-the-Future to the iconic unforgettable sounds of the 80's synths!😎💥🎛🎹❤️
One of my favorite albums of all time.
This should be more popular! Pure gold. "Running in the night" could perfectly be played around radio stations and being a hit
It's on every playlist and repeat often around me haha
Couldn't agree more with ypu my friend, utter perfection.
Maria, listen to how good running in the night is now..... ruclips.net/video/cHaZRJHRKLw/видео.html
What a voice Ollie! This is the best music I’ve think I’ve heard since the 1980s. Thanks so much!
I'm listening to this all the time, but it works especially well as I'm driving into a fading California sunset on a hot summer night.
6:30am just got off work. 12 hour shift and log on and find this. Cheers from Oklahoma
Healing.. Running in the night ❤️

This whole album is perfect for an evening drive.
i wanna get a licence so i can do just that...
***** same haha im too lazy to go and get it.
Oh yeah I lit my self a Doobie and cruised around to this album ..a great one
Way cool, man. Glad you're putting everyone else at risk
+loookaroundyou yes because you always hear about people being killed by a stoned driver.
This cures and gives depression.... it just right.... It hurts me like it was yesterday.... R.I.P BIG BRO 1990-2014.
"Light" synthwave music is perfect for the summertime, and this album is among the great ones. I love this channel.
It's actually dreamwave bro , which is a subgenre of synthwave.
Dreamwave is chilled / slower form of synthwave.
isn't it called chillwave?
+LightXplosion😐
It's actually called Strawberry-Shortcake-CarebearRainbowwave
I'm more into Blueberry-Muffin-CarebearRainbowwave, but PinkDonut-MyLittlePonyFriendshipwave? I just can't listen to that shit, too hardcore
Our love was stuck back there in time, and this is a portal to go back to feel the love again.
was listening to synthwave playlists for a few weeks now while playing with my friends and randomly came by this one, i've been keeping it on an extra tab on every occasion and "Running in the night" always manages to put a smile on my face and gives me this nostalgic feeling about me and my dad in his car traveling and listening to 90s/2000s music he had from his time. This one is special to me.
Großartiges Album für alle 80s Fans. Gerade für 7.99 bei Amazon gekauft. Gibt's zwar hier im streaming, aber wer so gute Musik macht, sollte auch unterstützt werden. Also: Erst anhören, dann kaufen.
Awesome album. Taking me back to the 80's. Music like this was meant to last forever.
Seven years on and this album is still amazing, thanks guys. In particular, "Goodbye" and "Wild Ones" give me the feels still. Love it.
7 years man it almost feels like this is our 80s.
I listened in 2017, still its somewhere in my heart. nice music.
I'm 44 and always luv the 80s. I'm glad they are bringing back the tunes. Feel good vibe of positive energy rushing through out my body. Thanks so much; FM-84, The Midnight, Kavinsky, Chvrches, and all of you.
I'm 43.greetings from italy. This music is pure energy.👍👍
Synth with lyrics is absolutely amazing! 80s was the story telling age of music compared to today's music. "Running In The Night" is a great example. Thanks for sharing.
My favourite, one of the best i ever heard 💯
Running in the night is F amazing!
It must have been double plus bad to grow up under the Angsoc regime comrade.

Beautiful music!
As beautiful as your music, Austin! Nice to see you here :D
Holy shit, I did not expect you to appear here :D

Coming from someone who makes beautiful music!
Is it true you left Monstercat/Starting your own label? (Ima sub if u did make a label) :)
Whoa, one of my favorite artists from a genre likes one of my favorite artists from another genre.
I Watch You From Afar did you tried Trevor Something? What about Mitch Murder?
I have never heard of Mitch Murder, i am trying it now, nice sound, thanks.
From me, i would add VHS Dreams.

I wonder why? I am an atmospheric black metal fan here but I love this new retro wave genre, which is so far from the black metal world.
I'm going to be listening to this one for a long time to come. One of the best synthwave albums ever - this is what the genre is all about!
Well thank you
yep yep
Makes me think of the beauty of youth.
Hey! Your youtube channel was how I learned about these guys! :D
ROFL !!
I got some time to spare

fm 84, if you re reading this, just know, i love you
We love you too ;)
Ollie Wride
Peter Fedichev thank you so much. love from morocco.

July 2022 here!
Absolutely phenomenal Album! Most of the tracks get listened to multiple times daily.
Thank you for creating this...
Thank you.
I don't normally leave comments on RUclips but I have to say this music is absolutely amazing - listening to it when I'm coding websites - loving it so much right now...
This is my summer jam for 2016. Best album in a long time.
Agreed man. I'm in awe right now
Look up Origin by Vanilla.
+TheSweepingRaveWave Ninja I looked it up and it's sick. Good shout bro.
James Eden For Sure.
Born in '68, I grew up in London and other places, listened to all the 80's music and I feel so lucky for the freedom we had back then and the music of course !
If "Let's Talk" had been released in the 80s, it would have been a #1 hit. One of the best "80s" tracks I've ever heard.
It's ok, might have been like the 3rd song during the credits of Kickboxer 2 or something.
its a least the second song during the credits of the first Kickboxer
@@evalha0077 LOL. That's cold.
Seriously. Right!
No drugs needed the music just takes you to a new level I love it
Running in the night would be one of the most iconic songs of all time if it came out in 1984.
listening to it right now. my jam jam jimmie jam
I agree
I suddenly don't hate everything
That's exactly what i'm feeling right now! lol
Same here it's something about the sound that just fix whatever is wrong in the world I love it

Except the ads...
LOL read the comment i just left. Perfect response btw.
Wild Ones (feat. Ollie Wride) is super. thank you FM-84. It touches my soul.
Best one.
I am absolutely shocked that I am just only now discovering this insanely good music. It touches a place in my soul that I cannot begin to describe how it feels.
glad you has been discovered this outstanding music. 😉🙌
@@wikusclass77 thank you!!!

Synthwave is amazing.
I paused 12 seconds in to buy this album, love it, thank you!
You bought it? lol pleb.
MerkeD Gaming Yeap, I like to support things I like, typically by the exchange of legal tender. It shows support in hopes they will produce more of X product, in this case, music.
Now you're getting it!
One of the most underrated albums of the last decade. This should be a multi platinum selling record.
The 80's is strong in this album :)
+AnalogX64 yep! the Synthwave music is full of 80's culture! :)
very Strong, the force is strong in this Album, makes ones willpower strong to search the way!
GEE I WONDER WHY
Some of the best music ever was made in the 80s in my opinion atleast so a good idea to return to that style.
Too bad you can't appreciate a wide range of great music which includes rap. Bless your heart! xoxo
04:20 - wow .... that voice .. those words ... that sadness .... that optimistic rhythm ... perfect!
Retro 80's is one of the best things to ever happen to me.
Running In The Night and Wild Ones, masterpiece!
yeah
SerpentZA brought me here! Love this!
The world needs more of the beautiful minds and souls that create this music. Please.
The 80s good vibes on this fills my soul with joy.
So damn, right. dude!
Born in 1971. Couldn’t agree more.
@@kyleflounder9783 2016 was basically the end. but music like this makes it bearable
To me this ERA never died. I never left the 80's. I continued to watch 80's movies and VHS throughout the 90's and 2000's..everybody laughed at me.. Who's laughing now...It's baaaaaaack!
It's eternal!!!
wow you are lucky... I was born in 2003 and never got to experience that... But i got it somewhere in me for some reason, I don't know why though...?
The 30 year rule sure has kicked in pretty good if you ask me, and I'm overjoyed. Being a 2000s kid, I never got to experience the awesomeness that was the '80s and never truly will. But, this nostalgia craze has completely swept me off my feet and I'm jamming to new-retro vibes all the time!
it's a place in your heart outside the bounds of time
WORD :)
Sparkling synth pop that evokes the atmosphere of some of the best '80s synth music.
But the feeling is there and it hurts sometimes to hold onto.
drunk guy .. out
nothing beats this on a good stereo))
that's for this gorgeous hungover morning. :)
DΛIMYO I agree completely, the feeling I get is unexplainable and so weird and deep. Kinda makes me wanna cry too lol
The power of music.
DΛIMYO so true i get the same feeling...
Ollie Wride (tracks 2, 7 and 8)...my God that guy can sing! Fantastic album. Takes some stylistic elements from the 80s but does it's own thing with them.
Track 2 is depressing for my soul. Depressing isn't even the right word.
@@zaubertricks7627 track 2 is perfect pal, I'm guessing its because it stirs up an emotional connection within your own life is the reason it hurts your soul... as musically its outstanding.
These songs make me feel in another dimension! My soul is touched by the warm light of a summer sunset! 🌅🌴
Amazing people still make this music, I love it
amazing for midnight driving trough empty city :)
+nomadovic Doesn't even need to be empty. I put on a retro wave/dreamwave/synthwave playlist and drive through Los Angeles at night every chance I get. It's the most calming and energizing thing I do for myself.

+Steven Smith nice! :)
Hahahaha this had me in stitches.. Nice to know we've provided the soundtrack to your proclivities x

My neighbour called the police because I've been playing this album on full blast... They arrested him!
That’s some solid police work right there 👍🏻
Lol
Hahaha
Real justice
and they did smooth, jazzy side-steps with hips swingin' real groovy as they took him to the back of the patrol car
Nothing beats blasting this record on a summer night with a room lit by LED lights and a good drink.
Timeless classic 😊 This album remains an icon of this genre
Amen. Same
Introvert heaven 😎
That was 2020 for my family as well...except for the part about listening to this album. One of the best years of our lives inside the home - while hell raged outside. Such a strange juxtaposition.
@@DawnPeacock That's a really poetic way of putting it. "The best years of our lives, while hell raged outside...".
I might use that for one of my songs.
Travelling back in time, watching me and my mate playing with our M.A.S.K.-Toys in a sandpit...
This album, Scandroid, and pinball pulled me through a period of depression a couple years back. I've entered a sort of aimless phase in my life, and I find myself coming back to Atlas. This is the kind of music that can give men like me hope that there's still a place for us in a world where we never really belonged in the first place.

This whole album is so great ☺️☺️
Yes!
It just hit me that this is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard in my life!
Hustle Boss seriously, for the sound design alone.
Running in the the Night is an absolute banger. Great work!
The second song would be a huge hit if it was released in the 80s.

Ramon Oliveira the whole album is amazing
It's ok, might have been like the 3rd song during the credits of Kickboxer 2 or something.
Ramon Oliveira every song man i say about new retro
This album is unlike and beyond any other retro synth music I have ever heard, I've been listing to Synth music since I was a child starting with Emerson Lake and Palmer and others but nobody can attain such beautiful music such as album. When I start it and from beginning to ending I am transfixed into another state of mind that is pure heavenly. FM-84 your on the right track for your fans. Don't stop a good thing when you know you have
it.
Duett is definitely at this caliber as well
I'm stunned to have only just stumbled upon this remarkably good music. Its resonance goes deep, touching a part of my soul in an indescribable way.
FM-84 has easily become on of my favorites after being introduced to synth.
Gunship? Timecop1983?
I cant get enough of this, especially "running in the night".
The synth work, lyrics and vocals just really tickle a special spot in my soul.
