    FOLLOW UP!!!..if you're even still out there 😊. Took a bit for parts to come in then had to wait for friend to return my socket set🤷‍♀️ but got machine outside, lay it on it's back and first thing I saw under the cover was a 🐁...😒🤢💀of course, that couldn't have been pleasant for it..none the less for me. Got it out & cleaned up the crime scene. Belt looked fine so with considerable sweat 🥵💦 (cause it's July in Texas) & a few colorful metaphors put it back on. Got it back inside, hooked all back up doing 😂a test load as I type... so far so good 👍. Thanks again for the share saved me 💰 & stress. If the belt or clutch do go out at least I have parts & a little experience under my hat. You are my hero❤

    Hello again. I commented a few days ago. I changed out the clutch on my 2016 Maytag HE. Cost me around $50. Clutch was fine, teeth and everything in good shape. Symptoms were washplate spinning freely and making a very loud winding/howling sound at beginning of spin cycles. Found vids on YT about basket hub. Picked one up for $30. That was the fix! And it was easy. Washer running great now, has new (and spare) clutch (was unreturnable) and new basket hub and horseshoe clip. Got $80 or so into it, only $30 was necessary, but beats buying a new washer. And if we get a new one in the future, someone will have a pretty good used one. Running great and now agitating and spinning perfectly. Clothes cleaner and not very wet at end of wash. Happy! Hope others see this and diagnose and fix this problem easily. Take care and best wishes.

      How did you gain access to the hub? I can’t seem to remove the agitator plate after removing the bolt holding it on.

    • @Wugawamp
      @Wugawamp 10 месяцев назад

      @@norfolknwhey4787 As I remember the agitator was held on by that one center bolt only. I ended up replacingnnthe washer about a month ago when the bearing went bad. Still works but very loud on spin cycle, like a jet engine. Was told bearing is in the transmission on my model and would have to replace that at a large expense so I figured better to get a new one. You may have to use a little elbow grease to remove the agitator. If it doesn't budge maybe use some kind of (non-clothes damaging) penetrating mix. I have the old machine in the barn and can go take a look if necessary, but I seem to remember the agitator coming off after removing that one bolt. The rest was pretty simple. Let me know if you still have a problem and I will go out and disassemble it again to check it out.

      @@Wugawamp thanks for you response. I’ve tried everything from hot water, to break free, and it’s stuck. The videos I watch show it being somewhat difficult to remove, but this thing is impossible! I’m now wondering what problem mine has… it works fine, but when it kicks on to spin the basket it makes a terrible loud noise. Zero noise when I spin the basket, but when the motor engages it’s loud. I’m hoping it’s the drive mechanism and not the bearing.

    • @Wugawamp
      @Wugawamp 10 месяцев назад

      @@norfolknwhey4787 My agitator was spinning too freely and making a whooping kind of noise. The clothes were dripping wet after spinning. When I replaced the basket hub it fixed that. A few months later the thing sounded like a jet engine while spinning, like a definite worn bearing. Didn't even bother because the bearing on that machine required a tranny change out. Your bearing might be a lot easier dependin on the model. Just going by what the parts dealer told me. When I get a minute I will disassemble the agitator out in the barn to see if there was something else holding it on.

    I like the idea of laying it down on the two-wheeler. Mine had a mouse nest inside the steel cover. When i removed the clutch actuator assembly, i could see it. Pretty sure the drum speed sensor is part of the actuator assenbly. I figured the nest material was interfering with the sensor. Cleaned it out with a hook and shop vac. Not the problem. New clutch will be here today. Hopfully, that cures the no rinse or spin condition. Agitator hub is ok, the splines are not stripped. Thanks for the video!

    Great video. Thanks for the advice. Chaned mine out in just about the same amount of time it took you yours. One thing that I tried that seemed to work for me and might work for other people is when you're trying to put the belt back on, put your ratchet back on the bolt and use the ratchet handle to spin the pulley. That might help with a little bit more leverage to get it to spin a little bit easier. Thanks again for the video.
