As I watch this again, it reminds me of how over time over time we became 'civilized' and tame. Killing our inner spirit and music like this brings it out, so we feel moved by it.
My daughter, best friend and I were fortunate enough to be right up front for this. We had driven up from Austin and waited outside for almost 4 hours and inside for another 90 minutes. It was worth every second. For those saying that the crowd is lame...this is not Slayer. This was different. You FEEL something like this and everyone feels different. I challenge anyone to go see Heilung live and not catch themselves just standing still in awe at some point. The energy was unbelievable, and it felt like everyone knew and connected with everyone else and a very personal level (something Heilung will tell you is what their rituals aim for). The faces I did notice that were keeping still were doing so out of being just mesmerized and in awe. Rock shows are always great, but this isn't rock. It's history unfolding in front of you and going after all your senses doing it on a very primal level. Thank you for uploading this. Hope they come back soon as it was one of the most amazing experiences ever (this was REAL church). Check out my profile for a great close-up short of Maria during this show.
I totally agree! The crowds were NOT lame. They were respectful! The Phoenix show (and, from what I hear, Portland, LA and Dallas) had the most FANTASTIC crowd. Everyone was seated and chill ( at Phoenix )....right up to this point. THEN everyone got up! Then everyone sat back down. THEN , at the close, Heilung got a five minute standing ovation. It was so damn awesome!!!!! I have NEVER EVER been with so many GREAT people in one location at the same time.
So jealous. Had tix and opportunity to see them in Maryland/DC, right before Covid, and something came up and I couldn't go. But I know what you're talking about even from watching the videos and listening to the music. I've been to metal concerts and this is not metal. It's a whole different feeling. There is a surrealness to it. Maybe one day in the future I'll have my chance to be one with all.
Completely agreed. Yes, I'm sure many of you (myself included) have come across that one or two YT and reddit comments about how the audience went primal at their concerts in different countries. "Not a single person, man, woman or child, wasn't dancing as if possessed by their primitive ancestors" or something like that lol. We have to remember that getting hit on the spiritual level is different for everyone. Some will do tribal dances, or shout and scream, some will jump, some will even raise their hands in deep meditation. I've yet to see them live, but every time I hear their music is just hits so different than anything else I've listened to.
I saw them performing this live, they were even more crazy at the concert I was visiting. Seeing it online is nothing compared to seeing them live they're amazing
And not even just Heilung... it is by far the best I've seen, and I'm no spring chick, I've seen a lot, but this.. everything about it from the stage to lighting, crisp sound, and they have it their ALL... yes.. this was the very best show of my entire life! Afterwards, we spoke with Kai, he told us that is was a very tricky venue because of the speakers under the stage made a 1 to 2 seconds delay in their ear pieces so they had to compensate for that playing back in their ears.. well done heilung.. I mean wow!
I live in Canada on Vancouver Island. I saw them in the US twice and once in Norway a few years ago. The only issue I had was everyone with their phones out. I wouldn’t have realized how much this changes the energy, but in Norway only a few phones were out. It was like they knew not to take away from the true vibe. Either way, this band takes a part of my bloodlines past (descendant of Sami Tribe, Lapland, North Scandinavia) and combines it with other nuances. Truly brilliant. Love it. Thanks for sharing.❤
My wife and I were on the left side balcony!! This was one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. You could feel the thirst for culture from everyone here!! This was a life changing event. I highly recommend taking mushrooms before going to see these beautiful people. Thank you for posting 🙏
I second that!! And feel free to contact me if ever in need!! We are "mushroom farmers" lol can do raw, capsules, or edible. Also do spore prints and syringes if you want to start growing your own
I did mushrooms hard core the day before this concert. Wish I had saved them for but being the designated driver I didn’t have much choice lol. But I enjoyed listening to some music and trippin. Nothing better
awww man, one of the main reasons I skipped this one was I saw the balcony and didn't think we'd be allowed up there. I looked for balcony tickets etc.... I didn't really want to be in the pit.
I was nearly dead center on the floor. And from where I stood, the stage, lighting, and sound surrounded us in a way that truly felt as though we were outdoors rather than indoors. Everyone around me was swaying and dancing in some kind of way during the whole show. It was Magical! The Factory is my favorite venue to see bands. It's large enough to accommodate lots of people and can handle state of the art tech for shows, but also small enough to feel like a more intimate venue. I'm so glad you got to experience Heilung in my city! I ran into them at their bus after the after party at Thunderbird Station and they said The Factory has already suggested they do 2 days next time.
WE WERE UP THERE IN THE FRONT! one of the crowd surfer guys went right over top of my wife and i and grabbed this dude we were hanging out with all night and viking howled at each other for like 20 seconds. absolutely amazing show. so cool being a part of this!
@Dion Pryor I thought that myself. I am an Atheist but grew up in a very religious environment. It sucked. When I was thinking about the Phoenix performance I had an epiphany: "Hey! It's like church!!! If church didn't suck and was awesome, that is!"
I would love to see and record Heilung play before I leave this Earth. This is my mission, and I hope to fulfil it some day, but time is short. Amazing work filming this, thank you, whoever you are ! ❤
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! We had great seats on a balcony at a table so I wasn't in anyone's way, and I didn't have to hold my phone the entire time so I was free to enjoy the ritual ♥️
Thank you so much for sharing, so beautiful! Heilung saved my life, and I'm so happy to have seen them last year at Midgarsblot. Can't wait to see them again!
Yeah a few weeks before this show, we saw them in Detroit and it didn't even compare to this.. we had Opera box seats thinking they were going to be great(should have for what we paid) and the whole show was off. The sound, the performance, the energy... but this show was perfection! It blew Redrock out of the water! I REALLY hope they put out a video (professional) of this show if was by far their best yet ❤️ sorry you didn't have a very good experience in MN.. I almost went to that one too! What was the problem?? Bad seats? I feel ya...
I was there. Right side floor about 20 feet back. As others have said , one of the best shows I've been to. Definitely in my top 5 , and I've been to literally hundreds since 1981. Almost went last year to see them in Red Rocks Colorado last year but didn't happen. Fascinating band to see live.
I was here as well. You had a great view and I'm so glad that you were able to document this so well. This was a magical moment in time for me! Thank you!!
Honestly, I kind of felt like that Douche bag with the camera, going to record and not experience, but that wasn't the case at all, I know I wish I had decent footage to watch before I saw them, I tried to get the whole ritual in one recording but it cut out short and then the whole hour and a half hour flashed for copyright so I can't post it blah! But I'm glad I got this much uploaded anyways!! ☺️
I saw them on greensboro nc last night. For this song everyone who could fled their seats and rushed down the isles and erupted in dance. Everyone who didn't dance were standing. Clapping. Or stomping with the drums.
Same amazing powerful closing ritual we had at their show here in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre on this tour. The entire place just got going full tilt during this song. Love Heilung!!
I was so disappointed that I had to work and miss the opportunity to be there and connect spiritually to the old gods through ancestral music and lyrics, modernized. I bet their performance was ethereal! Thanks for the upload!

I WAS THINKING THIS TOO!!! I went to a performance THIS year (2 weeks ago) and they performed this song, AND they had Native Americans dancing with them when Galgaldr played, and it was just the most beautiful thing.
I wish they put out a High quality production video of this show. I've only seen other peeps phone recordings..I saw them in ATL and WAS AMAZING. Thank you for video =)
I think they probably will do that for this show.. I was at the Detroit show and this one blew dt away with the sound, stage presence and performance so I've got a feeling they will be making an official video from this show. I haven't heard, I just think they will based on what I saw and heard.. 😁 how did this show compare to the one in Atlanta?
Could be a while, I'm still waiting for the red rocks ritual to be released, they had some worrying to do to because they blew the sound for an entire song.. that was a little over a year ago so... ⏳️
I had the pleasure of seeing them at Manchester UK in January. One experience I'll always treasure, was a Beautiful Ritual from the Beginning to the End. And Lili was the perfect start to the night I was so lucky to get a ticket 3 rows from the front, and I consider my ticket as a gift with the circumstances around me getting it. The number 3 appeared in every aspect of getting that ticket ⭐️🌛🌕🌕⭐️
The show was great and I appreciate you using your phone to record at the railing. I absolutely hated being on the floor as you can see everyone and their mother had their phone out and you couldn't see anything without being in the front
I honestly don't think the English language has any words to describe this experience ❤ When you are lucky enough to experience a Heilung ritual, , i promise- you will not leave as the same person. Heilung WILL change you, awaken you, it is very emotional, better than any drug, prepare to be blessed, and transformed into who you were born to be.
